Thanks Luca for your time,
we have deployed application in tomcat and changed the home page of tomcat to our application home page(html page). and url is http://10.1.1.145:8080/
Application home page contain link to jnlp. so whenever user click on link (in home page) then jnlp will execute and launch the swing application.
do you need some more clarification?
below is the home page(html).

    Please tell us more as "not working" can mean a lot of things. So:
    Are they user or workstation associated?
    Are those for whick they do not work (users or workstations) all in the
    same container?
    In what way do they not work?
    Any errors?

  • Is swing does not work in jdk1.4?

    Sirs,
    I've tried to compile the following code,
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class HelloWorldSwing {
    * Create the GUI and show it. For thread safety,
    * this method should be invoked from the
    * event-dispatching thread.
    private static void createAndShowGUI() {
    //Make sure we have nice window decorations.
    JFrame.setDefaultLookAndFeelDecorated(true);
    //Create and set up the window.
    JFrame frame = new JFrame("HelloWorldSwing");
    frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
    //Add the ubiquitous "Hello World" label.
    JLabel label = new JLabel("Hello World");
    frame.getContentPane().add(label);
    //Display the window.
    frame.pack();
    frame.setVisible(true);
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    //Schedule a job for the event-dispatching thread:
    //creating and showing this application's GUI.
    javax.swing.SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
    public void run() {
    createAndShowGUI();
    But I got the following error,
    C:\j2sdk1.4\bin>javac HelloWorldSwing.java
    HelloWorldSwing.java:2: package javax.awt does not exist
    import javax.awt.*;
    ^
    HelloWorldSwing.java:9: cannot resolve symbol
    symbol : constructor JFrame (java.lang.String)
    location: class JFrame
    JFrame frame = new JFrame("HelloWorldSwing");
    ^
    2 errors
    Does Jdk1.4 is not compatible for executing Swing applications?
    Thanks in advance.

    How long have you been using Java? Swing has been in the javax.swing package for a long time now.
    Your compiler errors don't match your source:
    import javax.swing.*;
    vs
    C:\j2sdk1.4\bin>javac HelloWorldSwing.java
    HelloWorldSwing.java:2: package javax.awt does not exist
    import javax.awt.*;

  • This program is well compiled but does not work.

    I would like to know why this program does not work properly:
    the idea is :
    1. the user introduces a text as a string
    2.the progam creates a file (with a FileOutputStream)
    3. then this file is encripted according to DES (using JCE, cipheroutputStream)
    4.the new filw is an encripte file, whose content is introduced in a string (with a FileInputStream)
    (gives no probles of compilation!!)
    (don know why it does not work)
    here goes the code:

    If you don't require your code to run as an applet, you will probably get more mileage from refactoring it to run as an application.
    As sudha_mp implied, an unsigned applet will fail on the line
    FileInputStream fe=new FileInputStream("c:/javasoft/t.txt");
    due to security restrictions. (Which, incidentally, are there for a very good reason)

  • Java Help is not working on jdk1.4,2

    Hello,
    I am using javax.help package for context sensitive help.
    I have jh.jar file in my classpath. And it is working fine.
    Now I shifted from jdk1.3 to jdk 1.4.2 and help is not working now.
    Can anybody give me solution of this?

    did you ever consider the reason why Java has versions?
    Code compiled in version 1.3 won't work in version 1.4. for viewing online, that I always do --
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/index.html
    for downloading Java(TM) 2 SDK, Standard Edition Documentation 1.4.2
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html
    you got to get down to near the bottom.

  • Custom DB authentication to an application from Oracle Portal not working.

    Hi All,
    We have a Portal customized and integrated to LDAP for SSO.
    From the portal, we have a link that takes to another custom application that requires another level of authentication. We have implemented this authentication as custom Database based authentication.
    When user login to the portal and access this link, he will be directed for authentication again. This custom application has been installed on a different OC4J instance while Oracle Portal is running in a different OC4J instance.
    Issue is though user details are being propagated to the custom application page, we are receiving an error saying authentication failed.
    In the OC4J instance specific for this custom application, we have configured jazn.xml to use custom authentication.
    Below is the code:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8' standalone = 'yes'?>
    <!DOCTYPE jazn PUBLIC "JAZN Config" "http://xmlns.oracle.com/ias/dtds/jazn-9_04.dtd">
    <jazn provider="XML" location="./jazn-data.xml" default-realm="jazn.com">
    <property name="role.mapping.dynamic" value="true"/>
    <property name="custom.loginmodule.provider" value="true"/>
    </jazn>
    and in jazn-data.xml, we gave the role mapping.
    But the problem is when the link to the custom application is accessed, it seems like the custom autentication mechanism is not working.
    Can anyone throw light on this?
    Do we need to give the same configuration in the j2ee/home/config directory files also?
    Can we use both LDAP and custom DB authentication with in the same OAS setup. Remember as of now, Portal and custom application are running in different OC4J instances but within the same OAS.
    Any help in this regard will be highely appreciated.

  • HT1338 how can I fix the spinning wheel in mail application? app is not working!

    My mail is not working properly. For son reasons that I don't know it show a spinning wheel and it won't alow me to open a mail or compose any. Does anybody know a solution for this??

    From the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
    Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
    If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its settings will revert to their defaults. If the extension still causes a problem, remove it permanently or refer to its developer for support.

  • Login with jdk1.3 works,, but jdk1.2.2 doesn't work

    i'm using ifs1.0.8.1.0 with oracle 8.1.6.0.0
    i've written a standalone java code which connects to ifs and forms a librarysession..
    i was tryin with jdk1.2.2 , it doesn't work at all. it's givin an invalidname/credential error.
    i tried the same code with jdk1.3 it works..
    is ther any way of makin it work with jdk1.2.2??
    null

    iFS 1.0.x does NOT support JDK 1.2.2 or JDK 1.3 -- I'm surprized that it worked with JDK 1.3 at all.
    Please upgrade to iFS 1.1 where you will find full support for JDK 1.2.2 (which we have certified). It should work with JDK 1.3 as well, but we haven't certified with it.

    My filter is not using java/lang/CharSequence anywhere.
    Can someone figureout why this problem is coming.
    Regards
    Srinivas

    As you probably know, CharSequence is an interface. Such classes as String implement this interface in JDK 1.4. So if you are trying to use filter compiled under JDK 1.4 then you certainly will meet the problem.

  • How does xalan.jar work with jdk1.3.1 and not work with jdk1.4.1

    Hi,
    i am using java, xalan, xerces for web development. The environment is jdk1.4.1, xerces.jar, xalan.jar. i am facing problem while transforming xml, xsl. Its giving the following error
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.apache.xalan.xslt.Process.getDefaultLiaison()Ljava/lang/String;
         at org.apache.xalan.xslt.XSLTEngineImpl.(XSLTEngineImpl.java:367)
         at org.apache.xalan.xslt.XSLTProcessorFactory.getProcessor(XSLTProcessorFactory.java:79)
    I tried with jdk1.3.1, xalan.jar, xerces.jar. Its working fine. Can anyone tell me what is the problem with jdk1.4.1 ?
    Regards
    Ashok

    I have the same problem, but the version within SUN seems imcomplete,what version is ?
    For example I am using the xsl tag library provided by Apache (I know this now deprecated). In its ApplyTag.java it uses XSLTDataSource this is not in the SUN 1.4 distribution so it falls over. If I add XALAN 1.0.1 it falls over because it on getDefaultLiason() because it starts loading somne classes from rt.jar and some from xalan.jar, how are you meant to override this.

  • Jazn.jar not working with jdk1.4

    I am getting the following error messages when connecting to bc4j application modules with jdk1.4. Works fine with jdk1.3.
