Hello people,
Currently I am using open/close dataset to download to the application server automatically. What I do here is submit a program execute in background when the report is done the report is automatically downloaded to the application server.
My problem now is that I want to use job open/close. With this, unfortunatley, my current method of open/close dataset will be unsuable to download to application server once the background job is done.
My question is, is there a way for me to automatically download a file to the application server using the job open/close method?

What you can do is to write a report program that downloads the data to the file on the app server.
Now, you can use the JOB_OPEN and JOB_CLOSE and submit this program in the background which will write the file.

So what you are saying is that I create two programs, where the job open/close program is the one I will run?
Problem is that I plan to get the values of the selection-options from the original program using the program with the job open/close. How will that work.

Problems creating background job for program (job open, submit and close)

Hi gurus,
im trying to start a background job using the FM BP_START_DATE_EDITOR to show the start date to the job or if it's imediate. this FM it's working fine, after call it im opening a job, submiting it and call the job close FM and the job close FM creates me the job.
The problem it's when i go to the sm37 to see the job status the job has been canceled, and the job log says that i have to give a start date to the job.

[Solved] Have Cron Job Open Terminal Window

I want to run a ping script every morning to check the liveliness and latency of specific servers. The script itself works fine but I can't figure out how to have cron open up a terminal window so I can see the script running.
This is what I have so far:
#runs /home/bran/pingservers.sh everyday at 8:30 am
10 10 * * * env DISPLAY=:0 konsole -e ~/pingservers.sh
But it doesn't open anything I don't even know if the job is even executing.

I am unsure how to get the script to open a terminal, but the journal should have some information on whether the script is running or not and if there are any errors.
