  • Job opportunities for SAP SD

    Hi Guys,
I am looking to do a course in SAP SD. would like to know what are the job opportunities currently for this.
I am engineering graduate with a total 6 years experience in different roles from Pre sales, Project management and Technical sales.
Due to personal reasons, I have been on a break for 2 years. I would like to get back into the job scene and feel that a course like Sap SD would greatly help.
But before I embark down this road, I would like to know what would be the job opportunities for some one with my background.
    Thanks!

    Hi Muasif,
The following is just my personal opinion regarding your question. Other people can have other opinions.
    1. Does Sun employs Java Certified Professionals, if
yes what are the procedures?I am not a Sun employee, however I do not believe Sun only employees Java Programmers, or Certified Professionals. Certification is very important however, it shows to your potential employer what you can do. However you must also put in the mix your attitude towards work, and how good you work in a team. It is a good think that you aim to work directly with Sun (From what I understand) however I believe that could be hard.
    2. Does any know particular job sites or particular
job companies hiring Java Certified Professionals.
    3. I am Sun Certified Java Programmer 5, I seek job
in USA. Can anyone tell me about job sources in the
USA where I can apply and get job. Currently I am not
in USA.Basically you should not be searching for companies hiring Java Certified Professionals, but only for companies searching for Java Programmers. I know in the UK there is a site called monster.com that specializes in finding jobs for people. In the US I never worked and thus I do not know. What I would sugest is to first see where you would like to go in the US. Remeber that over there you will do more then Just Work! after see what job opportunities are there in that area.
Again I am sorry if my post does not satidfy you. I wish you all the luck to find work in the US :) Remember Europe is not such an ugly place either :)

  • ABAP Job opportunities for a BSC graduate

    Hi gurus,
I am planning to take up ABAP certification and upon discussing it with so many people the common answer which I got was that its really hard for a bsc graduate to get a job in SAP ABAP. This gives me a doubt as to whether its really useful for my future/ career. Now my question is: will I be able to get a job with a bsc IT degree with me in SAP ABAP and if so what would be the expected CTC.
    Degree: Bsc IT
    Passed out: 2007.
Experience: 1 year in Tech support, 2 years in customer service (back end processing).
I really need your advise to move ahead with a firm decision, as this is my last opportunity to get into the IT industry.
    Looking forward for your replies!!!
    Regards,
    Deepak Mohan

    Welcome to the forum !!!!!!
You can be a Bsc or BA whatever may be it is not a main criteria to decide.  The main criteria is that how indepth knowledge you have in programming areas like C+, Java etc., and stepping into SAP depends on this.
    thanks

  • SAP- SD Consultant Job Opportunities

    Dear Experts,
Myself Daniel. I have done BE (e & c) and also MBA ( marketing & systems). Currently, I am  having 2 years experience in Sales Industry ( FMCG ). Thats one of the best FMCG Companies in the World. Now 2 years of Domain experience is not much i know, but, i believe i have have acquired a thorough knowledge in Sales. Now, i want to move on to SAP. My seniors are telling me to go for SD Module. I am thinking of admission in an authorized SAP training institute. People at the institute said that SD Module suits me best, but i want to know from you experts. Please guide me. They( the institute people) say that SD Module is the most demanding in terms of job opportunities. But having gone through different threads here its contradicting. The authorized SAP training institute guys are saying that they will also ASSIST me in getting a job but they cant GUARANTEE it. fare enough. But i want to know about the current job opportunities as a Certified SAP SD Consultant in todays market from experts.
Please help me in this, i would be grateful.
    Thanks,
    Dany

    Hi Daniel,
All your points are valid, but unfortunately that's the state of affairs as of now. Getting an SAP Certification is equivalent to "I have learnt this SAP course from this Authorized Training Center". And that's the end of it.
Not many companies will hire you just because you have an SAP Certification. Coupled with the fact that getting an SAP Certification is quite an expensive affair (at least in India - I don't know where you are from...) the entire idea is a joke IMO.
And from the looks of it, it doesn't look like SAP is going to change this trend any time soon. Before jumping into the Certification bandwagon, do read some of the agonizing tales of freshers like you, who have done Certification and still looking for a job.
Im not trying to discourage you, but you should know the facts before making a huge investment in terms of time and money so that you can make an informed decision.
    Good Luck!

  • Advice needed on Hyperion Job Opportunities

    Hello,
I'm trying to venture into Hyperion Consulting and I need some advice on Hyperion Job Opportunities. I thought this would be a good place to ask.
Let me give you my background. I have a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, a Masters degree in Computer Science, and an MBA in Finance from a TOP 15 Business School in the U.S. I have been working as a Senior Financial Analyst for the past 5 yrs primarily doing Forecasting, Budgeting etc using Excel. I'm an advanced user of Excel proficient in vlookups, pivot tables etc. I've also used Hyperion sparingly to get budget and actuals numbers from the Hyperion system.
Now,I would like to get into Hyperion Consulting. I'm debating whether I should learn Hyperion Planning or HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) and I'm not able to decide. I want to base my decision on which one of these two systems (HFM/Hyperion Planning) has more job opportunities and pays a higher billing rate.
I've been told that job opportunities in HFM are much less than Hyperion Planning but the billing rates for HFM are higher than Hyperion Planning. Is this true?
I would really appreciate if anyone can advice me on this issue. It would be great if you could also provide me with the average billing rates for both HFM and Hyperion.
Thank you very much in advance for your help

    Hi,
This topic is quite controversial for many consultants who chose to carry on with Planning. Let us be honest for a minute: As Planning consultants, we don't like HFM'ers much, but there is a reason behind it. They tend to perceive us like IT geeks. Well, you may argue that it's not particularly a bad thing but are we not more than that? Once I had a rather strange conversation with the head of HFM team in my previous firm. They were trying to hire someone to their team and interviewing a few people weekly but couldn't find anyone for a long time. I happened to ask him how it was going and he said: "well, you know, physical appearence and candidate's care for outfit is very important for us. We are not like you guys, we are dealing with CFOs and even CEOs s". I replied: "yeah, you are right, we do the design with janitors."
But on the contrary, most of the time Planning projects urge you to interact with a much larger community within the company than that of HFM's. I can say, for example, I have discussed with production unit heads about the processes involved in producing steel products, or petrochemicals. I have hands-on knowledge about telecommunication, insurance and government sectors. That's why it's so much fun for me and I love doing it.
About how well you make, it might be true that HFM consultants are paid little more than what Planning conultants are paid on initial grades. But as you move ahead in your carreer, the gap is closed. You can check monster or glassdoor yourself, Planning architects are paid more than HFM counterparts by a significant margin.
It's I think with little argument is a fact that, Planning requires you to be little more technical compared to HFM but in return you have more fun and gain more experience with it. It's a personal choice of course and I know people who does both. The world needs HFM'ers as much as it needs Planning consultants, well, maybe half as much.
    Good luck.
    Cheers,
    Alp

  • Job Opportunities.

    Hello Everyone.
I was just curious as to how does everyone get jobs for their
    businesses?
I've worked with Html for about 4 years total. I've used
Dreamweaver for about 2 of those years.
I just find if rather difficult getting job opportunities. Do
you guys use Personal Sites advertising your company/work and team,
do you find work in local areas, or do you advertise through Job
    search engines like Monster Jobs?
I'm fairly new to this Field of work. 4 years is not much to
say for this. I think I'm well and decent. Was just curious as to
how others get their job opportunities.

If you put a sign up over your door where you live right now,
    how much
business do you think you would get? Maybe a couple of your
    neighbors and a
couple of their friends and then you would sit in front of
    your computer and
    wait for more business.
You will not get new business from advertising on line...
    there are just too
many others out there and that is a huge black hole. (Post
    your resume on
Monster.com and see if anyone EVER responds to it).
If you want to be in business, you have to spend some
    marketing dollars. If
you want to advertise on line, pay for a Google ad. (can get
    expensive) Put
classifieds in your local newspapers and in some web trade
    magazines. But
more than that, attend your local chamber of commerce
    meetings, talk to
everyone there, tell them what you do, hand them a card with
    at lease 3 ways
or more to contact you (phone, website, e-mail, fax, office
    address). Go to
local business meetings and conventioons, read about upcoming
    store
openings, call the owners, tell them what you do. Speak to
    MANY, MANY
    people and oh, yeah...
    ...did anyone mention Networking?

  • SAP PM Module job opportunities after certification??

    Hello All,
I am in a very big dilemma. Need some serious counselling from some experts. I am currently working as a maintenance engineer from the past 3 years. I want to switch into IT for which I am thinking to go for SAP Certification in PM Module from ATOS. But I have few doubts regarding the PM Module. What are the job opportunities in PM Module as a fresher?? Will I be getting a job easily?? What sort of future is there of PM Module?? Some are saying that it is very tough in this to get a job specially as a fresher. Please help me because I am thinking to resign at my current place and then go for the certification.
    Regards
    Jayant

The primary point is not to resign from your job.
If possible take a month leave or go for e-learning.
SAP Certification is not a means of guaranteed job, it could only enhance your skill set.
I do not want you to end up in the same category of people who blame SAP certification for not getting their break. Continue what you are doing, take a break and go for training and then try your luck in SAP market. That is the safe way of playing the game :-)
    All the best.
