JOptionPane keeps popping up behind windows
I'm having trouble with my JOptionPane popping up behind my main window, rather than in front. On the advise of someone more experienced than me, I encased the JOptionPane in a JDialog, as follows:
Object[] array =
new JLabel("Enter some text:"), };
JOptionPane pane = new JOptionPane(array,
JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE);
JDialog dialog = pane.createDialog(null, "Result
Data");
dialog.setResizable(true);
dialog.setVisible(true);
dialog.toFront();and it keeps appearing behind all my windows.
The first time the program runs each session, it pops up behind all the windows, making hte program appear to hang. If I alt-Tab and bring it front, all is fine, and then subsequent iterations of the dialog come up in front
Can anyone help me makes sure these boxes pop up in front every time?
Thanks

The programming I"m doing is in an API for a CAD program - the Java is launched by the CAD program.
This problem of JOptionPane's popping up behind the main window is a common one with this particular CAD program, and a guy who has done a lot of programming in this API advised me to create the dialogI'd try it without the dialog bypass to be sure, if I were you.
What's the best way to specify the mainWindowReference? You simply need a reference to +any+ Component or Window. For instance, if you're executing that code in an event handler, you could simply use the event's source (provided that is actually a Component).

Why do pop up dialogues often pop up behind windows?
Why do pop up dialogues often pop up behind the window your currently focused on, with no warning that they need your attention? It should either display the dialogue on top of everything else, or it should bounce the dock icon. Popups should not go un-noticed!
I prefer those windows to stay in the background.
Haven't you ever been typing away on something when a pop-up takes the foreground focus and immediately goes away because you pressed a key that it recognized?
Boy I really hate it when programs rip the focus away from your immediate task like that!
What the heck was that dialog box anyway? I never got the chance to read what it said because it went away so quick. -
Problem: There is 1 website which I had downloaded a pdf from in the past, now this download window continues to popup every couple minutes with a window for me to download again. When this download windows opens I have to click "cancel" repeatedly to get it to close.
I use to have this issue about a year ago, but I found the problem with a program and uninstalled it. But I am not finding anything like that this time.If this happens when you click the Home button then check if you haven't included an automatic download page as one of the home pages.<br />
Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' symbols

Try to delete the downloads.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

You can try to reset Firefox if the above didn't fix it.

If you reset Firefox then a new profile is created and some of your data (bookmarks, passwords, cookies, form data) is automatically imported and your current profile will be moved to the desktop (Old Firefox Data).
You can recover more data from the old profile (be cautious with doing that).

Windows Activation Technologies keeps popping up even though it shows activated
I have a PC with Windows 7 Enterprise that keeps popping up a Windows Activation Technologies message even though the Properties windows indicates it is activated. I have tried re-activating over the Internet and manually over the phone; both times indicating
successful activation. Yet, every day around 7pm, the WAT message will appear.
I have downloaded and run the MGADiag tool and have pasted the report below. I would appreciate if someone would review and provide a possible solution. Thank you.

Using slmgr /rlic command in elevated command prompt to reinstall the license files. This option reinstalls all licenses stored in %SystemRoot%\system32\oem and %SystemRoot%\System32\spp\tokens. These are “known-good” copies stored during installation.

Sometimes windows pop up behind the browser and I don't know about them, causing them to be the last ones I close. So Mozilla remembers them and it forgets the main window with all the tabs that I thought was being saved! The history button only remembers 3 and that's not enough in these cases.
If you wish to retain all the tabs for next time do not close down the Windows individually. Just minimise them if you need them out of the way.
When you close Firefox use use the Firefox menu to quit the Firefox program.
* Use New Button {three bar icon) -> Quit Firefox {off icon)
* also see [[Restore previous session - Configure when Firefox shows your most recent tabs and windows]]
** [[How do I restore my tabs from last time?]]
You may wish to set Firefox to always start with last session.
(That does not stop you clicking the home icon to open your home page, or set of pages, at any-time you wish) -
Shut down window keeps popping up...
This issue keeps me busy since Snow Leopard already, and I thought it's done with a new Mac (Early MBP this year, migrated via Time machine) or Lion (installed right after launch) - but still there:
My 15' MBP (early this year) is connected to a 30 inch Cinema Display (one of the last versions available) via an Apple cable ($99).
Now I disconnect my MBP from the Cinema and work mobile, and not every time, but very often, I come back and connect it back to the Cinema, the "shut down" screen keeps popping up. If i hit cancel, it comes back in seconds. There is no alogorithm to get it going...at some point it just stops. This was partly ok with Snow Leopard, since this screen could have been just moved to a spare part of the screen and I could continue working...but under Lion, you cannot mve it away and work - since the shut down window is dominant and keeps getting activated. I have attached a screenshot of the shut down window so everyone knows what I am talking about.
How can I get rid of the issue? It's not a hardware issue, since I had 2 Macbook pros with the same issue...seems to be a software issue.
Can you help?
Thanks, MarkusNever seen or heard about before your posting it here.

New message window keeps popping up
The new message window keeps popping up without prompting, usually twice in a row. I notice
this particularly when I first open the Mail program. The funny thing is that you can't actually type in any text in the new message window. Any ideas???It seemed to work itself out after several days.

Hi all.
I need some help. I have recently installed a new Hard Drive in my Macbook and have re-installed Snow Leopard. Since doing so there have been a few things that haven't been quite the same.
1) Certain buttons decided they didnt want to work anymore. These being the Space Bar, the Tab key, all four arrow keys, Caps lock, Volume up, Eject, and a few others.
After putting up with this for a couple of weeks and looking at numerous forums, they all of a sudden came back to life (Hence why I'm actually able to type this message) THEN, they packed up again. Then started again, then packed again, and so on. They seem to have a mind of their own.
Please... does anyone know whats going on? Is it a hardware prob? Is it something to do with the way Ive installed the Hard Drive? Have I forgotten to do something?
2) Ever since my buttons initially came back to life, the "Do you want to restart you computer?" window keeps popping up every couple of minutes.
It's the window that says "Restart, Sleep, Cancel, Shut Down"
It's driving me insane and I can't help but think that the two probs are related.
If anyone out there has any ideas at all, they would be most welcome.
Many thanks in advance
MadDogSnapsHave you tried reinstalling the original drive? Same symptoms with it?

I have designed websites, and would like a pop under (new window) to be displayed BEHIND the current/open window. I have code that does this on all browsers except firefox. For some reason, Firefox insists on opening up the new window on top of the active browser window session. It covers the entire page. Reason is because I purposely have a new full-size window opening BEHIND the open browser. Is there some code I can add to my web page script that forces the new window to open up BEHIND the active/open browser, specific to firefox?

H. I upgraded to iOS8.1.3, and now when I attempt to backup my iPad to iTunes for Windows, it keeps popping up an error message "not enough space on the computer". There is over 130Gb of space! I have updated iTunes, but no change. Is it an issue in the iOS update? Or am I doing something wrong?
Would appreciate your guidance...
<Subject Edited by Host>When you upgraded, itunes should have put a copy of the itunes library database in a folder named *Previous iTunes Libraries* . If you upgraded itunes today it will show as
iTunes Library 2010-02-28.itl
Use these directions to get it back

Since I am not sure of your setup, look for the "Previous" folder on both your C: and F: drives. -
Windows Help and Support Message box keeps popping up
I am not really sure what happened but my keyboard stopped working. It kept typing out random letters and not the ones I typed. At the same this "Windows Help and Support" box started popping up. So, I can't use my keyboard but the pop up window keeps interuping Netflix and vidoes and I can't watch them and Word documents. Pretty much anything I do gets interupted by this box and stops whatever I am trying to which is trying to build a website at the moment.
I uninstalled the support. It no longer appears in my program list but the box still keeping popping up and stopping everything I am doing.
What I am suppose to do? It doesn't say its the HP Support it says "Windows Help and Support" at the top of the box.
I have tried everything.Hey @c4yp ,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand the keyboard on your notebook is not working properly, and the Windows Help and Support window keeps opening.
This popup is typically caused by a spyware or malware infection. Please follow the steps below and let me know if it helps.

Hi itunes wont install windows error 2 keep popping up what do i do?
hi itunes wont install windows error 2 keep popping up what do i do?
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
