Do I need to Create Primary Key Class for Entity beans with Local interface?
I have created my entity bean with the wizard in Sun One Studio and it does not create a primary key class for you.
I thought that the primary key class was required. My key is made up of only one field.
Anyone know the answer.

u dont need to create a primary key class for a entity bean.if ur table's primary key feild(int ,float) is a built in or primitive data type,then u dont need one.But if ur table has a primary key field which is non primitive (for example StudentID,ItemID etc)then u have to create a primary key class.

3. I create a view link to create master-detail relationship for these 2 view objects.
masterview.SourceBlock (1)->detailview.SourceBlock (*).
4. I create a tree table using these 2 view objects with master-detail relationship.
When I set default value for variable bindings of these 2 view objects and the matching records exist, tree table can work well. I can expand the master row to display detail row in UI.
But I need to pass in dymamic parameter value for variable bindings of these 2 view objects, tree table cannnot work again. when I expand the master row and no detail row are displayed in UI.
I am sure that I pass in correct parameter value for master/detail view objects and matching records exist.

5. What's wrong in my implementation? I don't have no problem to implement such a tree table if using simple master-detail tables view object, but now I have to use such 2 view objects using complex SQL for my requirement and variable bindings are necessary for detail view object although I also think a bit strange by myself.

Create Message Bundle classes for EO objects in Jdeveloper

How to create Message Bundle classes(extending JboResourceBundle) for an EO object using Jdeveloper. The ADFToyStoreDemo contains these bundle classes for the EO. However, when I complete create a new EO, I don't get a default Message Bundle class.

Don't you get these when you add validation rules to the entity or default values / control hints, etc?

The pre-requsit of creating a new assets clause :-
1. Co. code assigned to Chart of Dep.
2. Dep areas have been defined
3. GL account no. is not more than 8 digit.
The transfer of an assets within the same co code can be done thru T.code ABUMN.

Use TC SE93.
Select option Create TC with Parameter.
Enter TCode.
In it maintain TC as SM30
Click on Skip first screen
Maintain Default Values as
VIEWNAME = <View name>
UPDATE = 'X'

AS3: How to create one base class for classes loaded in multiple swfs?

You can achieve this via Workshop 9.2 by using the exported Ant script for your project as follows:
-Ensure that all Jars needed to resolve com.bea.p13n.property.EntityPropertyManager (this particular class is found in weblogic92/common/p13n/lib/p13n_ejb.jar) and all referenced classes are added to the Java build path for your WebLogic EJB project (Properties->Java Build Path->Libraries)
-Export the "Workshop Ant Script" for your WebLogic EJB project (File->Export->Workshop Ant Script); this will generate a "build.xml" Ant script under your project root directory.
-Edit this default build script as follows: in the call to the "ejbgen" task within the "build" target, add the attribute: propertyFile="ejbgen.properties"
-Create a file "ejbgen.properties" under the root of your WebLogic EJB project and add the following entry:
YourSessionBeanClassName.remote.baseClass=com.bea.p13n.property.EntityPropertyManager
-Add a "<path refid="java.classpath"/>" within the "<classpath>" for the "java" task element that calls "weblogic.ejbc" (this will ensure that the p13n classes are resolved by EJBC)

Is creating an entity object expensive for wrapping search values..

I am trying to create a very robust generic method that searches for entities that match the fields according to a enum of search types.
The easiest way I find is to wrap all the values into an instance of the entity class so that testing can be done on field values expected to be present.
So the question is if creating an entity object for the sole purpose of wrapping search values is considered expensive?

I think a point is being missed here and therefore I need to discuss a new design pattern I am using...
1) I create a entity class as per usual but I break a o-o rule with encapsulation. All of my fields are protected and not private. This allows me to create a subclass of the entity and inherit the members so that they can be used for the function of this class. The sole purpose of this subclass is to put an o-o framework around a String[] of search criteria provided according to the type of search to be done.
2) The method in my interface for finding is now extremely robust and is defined as follows...

Type T is a subclass of the entity that this interface is mostly being used for and will always be a subclass created specifically to hold the search data. The SearchType is an enum that contains an enumeration of the search types allowed.
Yes it may not be normal to provide a phone number and then search but I have seen this functionality where one can go online and do a search based solely on the number entered. Anyway I thing I found a design that is reusable now and my problem is solved.

I'm trying to create a distributed system and therefore I have all my entity classes present in my Java EE app and hosted as a web service. The Swing frontend app autogenerate the entity classes for use in the presentation.
I'm having some trouble using the Collections.sort() since a generated entity cannot implement an interface, does anyone have a hint to how i can solve this issue?
Also, I need to override the toString() so that I can put an entity directly in a eg. JCombobox and it is presented with the return of my custom toString() but if I override the toString() in my original entity in my backend app, then this method is not generated in my frontend app.

Problem in creating a Persistent Class

Hi All,
I am working on Persistent Classes for the first time. I have tried to gain some info by going through some related threads and of course Thomas' Blog on Persistent Classes.
My Problem:
I have been trying to create a Persistent Class that takes fields from multiple database tables (KNA1 and KNVV).
I wasn't able to generate mapping successfully.
So, the solution was to create 2 Persistent Classes and create a data model class for these two (It was mentioned in one of the threads)
I have been trying to create a Persistent Class for the fields from table KNA1 (I need only some 11 fields)
When I activate, I again get a warning 'No mapping exists for the fields' as a result of which the main class is not activated.
I read somewhere that all fields from a table needs to be included in the 'Inclusion area', otherwise, the class doesn't activate.
So I tried creating a view, but I get another warning message saying 'Database operations with view are not allowed' and the main class remains unactivated.
Please suggest.
Also, if there are any related materials on how to deal with multiple tables, I would be more than glad.

If you are creating a persistent class for SAP tables, then effectively you are attempting to update the tables directly. And that is a really bad idea.

Only create persistent classes for database operations on your own tables.
I guess your classes are failing because you haven't done the mapping. Did you click on the button marked "persistence" on the SE24 view of your ZCL class?

I have a z table and I want to register the changes of fields should be logged to CDHDR and CDPOS table.
Is this possible?
If yes how can I creat an object class for a z table. I have already checked the change document option in z data element.

Tcode SCDO. You'll need to create a change document for you Z table and then use the FM created to record the changed data.
