JRA in MII 12.1.3 Build(65)

Hi,
I am working with JRA actions for the first time. I am not sure if this is maintained in the configuration or elsewhere.
I don't see in the JRA Start Session where to supply the SAP Client, Username and Password values? This is unlike MII 12.0.
Regards,
Chanti.

The administration for JRA is done entirely in the NetWeaver Admin App.
Here is the quick path:  http://<server:port>/nwa/app-resources
Or in the NetWeaver Admin app you can navigate to Configuration Management...Infrastructure....Application Resources
The list shown in the JCO Start Session action is pulled from this configuration.

  • Java Cache Issue on SAP MII 12.1 SP09 (Build 116)

    Hi All,
Has anybody experienced this issue before?
    Problem Description
This installation is a central MII instance, which is HP hosted in Swindon, UK. On Login we are experiencing a delay in loading the Java Applets, i.e. iGrids, iCharts, iCommands etc. After the first screen load the performance improves. When we close the session and re-enter, the performance on the first screen is delayed.
    Problem Investigation
We have compared this project to other MII instances and investigated the cache loading of each of the MII installations. What we have noticed is that the Java is not being cached on the client side for the MII server V12.1 SP09 (Build 116). We had three MII servers, with this version, and we are experiencing the same issue. We have other instances of version 12.1.7, 12.1.8, and 12.2.0 and the cache functionality is working fine.
To view the cache we are opening the Java Cache viewer on the Java Control Panel, and we are looking for the file u201Cillum8.zipu201D which is the MII Java library. This investigation was done using the same Client Java Runtime version and IE Version.
Software Versions used: JavaRuntime version: 1.0.6_22 & Internet Explorer 8.0
    Any advice/help much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Henry

    Hi Henry,
Not sure this has any bearing, but what NW version and SP is MII sitting on top of?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi Manoj,
Once you have configured your Listener have you checked pressing the update button and i dont want to ask you which version of NW SP you have installed as you said it was working for you with Build 83, but nevertheless NW SP Level should not be not less than SP3.
If this doesn't help you, please try  restarting your server again.
How about the credential editor have you configured this as well?

  • Error in opening pdf file from mail attachment sent thru MII

    Hi,
    I am using MII 12.1.4 build(36).
I have created a pdf file from BLS using PDF actions block and saving the file in web location as mentioned below:
    WEB://<ProjectFolder>/<subfolder>/Report.pdf
I'm using the same file as attachment in my m a i l action block with attachment content type "application/pdf" and AttachmentContent "ImageSaver.EncodedImage" or "PDFDoc.Output".
When i check the mail,i can see the attachment with some size of 8kb,but when I open the file i will get below error:
"Adobe Reader could not open Report.pdf because it is either not supported file type or because the file has been damaged(for example,it was sent as an m a i l attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)"
If I try to open the same file by exporting fit to my desktop,it opened properly.
    Anything I'm missing here?
    Thanks in Advane,
    Suresh

    Hi,
According to below mentioned thread, this problem is fixed in 12.1.5 and above.
Re: Attachment Content When sending PDF attachment in Send Mail Step
Then I deployed the new patch ie SP07.
Here there is one problem,ie in Menu page I can see the 12.1.7(Build40),when I open the workbech,it shows the previous patch 12.1.4(Build 36).Why is it so?
All of my transactions running fine except the one which I have mentioned in my previous post.
When I run the transaction mentioned in my previous post,it threw an excption for PDF Table Action block and the error mentioned below:
[ERROR] Error found trying to execute action 'PDF_Table_0' Exception: [null]
[ERROR] [PDF_Table_0] Action: Runtime threw an exception. Exception: [java.lang.StackOverflowError]
When I can check the m a i l, I'm able to open the attached PDF file without error but without data.Is it because of the above mentioned error?
    Plz help me.

  • Not able to send message - http post from MII 12.1.4.53 to PI 7.1

    Hi ,
    Question
u2022     Is there any configuration to set up in MII and PI to do posting to PI as a web service? If YES, please guide.
    Situation
u2022     We are with MII version 12.1.4.53 and trying to send message through http post to PI 7.1 server.
u2022     We are getting the following error HTTP 500 Internal Error Issue.
u2022     However we are able to post messages from SOAPUI through the same URL and with the MII system which is running on version 12.1.6.91 and 12.1.9.116
u2022     HTTP Response received as below points to PI Configuration issue.
    Error
        <SOAP:Fault>
          <faultcode>SOAP:Server</faultcode>
          <faultstring>Server Error</faultstring>
          <detail>

    thanks
    Rajesh

    Hi Anudeep,
The question isNOT ABOUT the format of the URL which MII should use.
Using the same URL we are able to post the message from other MII versions with in the landscape( MII version 12.1.6 and MII version12.1.9) and through SOAP UI.
500 Internal server error Problem arises when the message is sent through the same URL from MII 12,1.4 Build(53) to PI 7.1 ( we tried https Post, XI Webservice, WebService action blocks)
    Question:
Are thre any configuration settings specific to MII version12.1.4 Build 53 which needds to be set in MII to communicate to PI 7.1.
    Thanks

  • UME & LDAP setting, Cannot add more UME MII users in NW7.1/MII 12.1.5

We're using MII 12.1.5 (Build 85), configured with standard DB+LDAP authentication.
Data source: MicrosoftADS (Deep Hierarchy) + Database
    Data Source File Name: dataSourceConfiguration_ads_deep_writable_db.xml
I need to a dd some users to the system, not existing in the Active Directory list (i.e. temporary access). When I try to add them to the UME database, the system is telling me I'm in trouble.
    [LDAP: error code 50 - 00000005: SecErr: DSID-031521D0, problem 4003 (INSUFF_ACCESS_RIGHTS), data 0 ]
Where should I look to elevate my rights, since I'm already logging in with the highest access on the system?
    Regards,
    paul.

    Thanks Udayan,
If NW wants to add an user in AD, then the AD user specified in the configuration has to have enough rights to do that (which doesn't unfortunately, and won't have ever). I am looking to add more users in UME, not in AD.
In my case, the Active Directory structure extends on multiple levels. For example, there is an AD server for corporate and then another AD servers for plants. The users in the plants are able to connect to the plant MII using their local credentials, but they cannot authenticate to the corporate MII development box (not being visible from the corporate AD leaf). Therefore, being a handful of names, I was thinking to add them in UME and bypass the AD authentication in their case (not being an AD expert) for the development server.
Who said networking is easy? I can't remember ..

  • Add Horizontal Scroll Bar to MII Navigation

    Hello,
We are on MII 12.1.8 build (20).
Our client would like to see a horizontal scroll bar for the Navigation pane such that if the Name of the link is longer the navigation page scrolls horizontally but I figured that in MII 12.1 I can only wrap the names or let them expand.
I brought in the DynamicHomePageLibrary.xsl and tried to customized but I am unable to get a proper scroll bar.
Please guide me on how I can add a horizontal scroll bar to MII Navigation page, which lines must be added/modified in DynamicHomePageLibrary.xsl
    Thanks,
    Adarsh

At line 308 you should see something like this:
    <xsl:attribute name="style">z-index=5;display:visible;height:100%;border:1px solid #666;padding:5px;overflow:auto</xsl:attribute>
Try adding a css width like so:
    <xsl:attribute name="style">z-index=5;display:visible;height:100%;border:1px solid #666;padding:5px;overflow:auto; width: 250px;</xsl:attribute>

  • SAP MII workbench - saving new transaction - role issue?

We are using MII 12.1.4 (build 53) and have copied the SAP java roles to our own groups (ABAP Roles) in the UME, including the defined actions of the SAP roles.  We then assign the ABAP role in ABAP to the User, so that in the UME they now have the groups assigned.
We have run into an issue where when creating a new transaction in the MII workbench we are unable to save it.  If we add the standard SAP UME role SAP_XMII_DEVELOPER, we are now able to create and save the transaction (or whatever work).  The only difference we can see in the SAP_XMII_DEVELOPER role and our copied role is the name, all the actions in SAP_XMII_DEVELOPER are in our Group (ABAP role).
our ABAP role (UME Group) example is:
ZZZZ:Z_MII_DEVELOPER (has UME role AD_JU_MII_DEVELOPER assigned)
    UME Roles:
Z_MII_DEVELOPER has the 3 actions below assigned:
         xappsxmiiumeactions     XMII_User
         xappsxmiiumeactions     XMII_Read_Only
         xappsxmiiumeactions     XMII_Developer
SAP_XMII_DEVELOPER has the same 3 actions as above, and the onluy difference is the description, and that it doesn't have any assigned groups.
Does the MII workbench use the hardcoded role names somewhere that would not allow us to use  our the ABAP roles (JAVA groups) or is there something else we are missing in the group?
I have searched the best practices, forums, SAP help, OSS, etc. with no luck
    Thanks for any help,
    jake

    Hi Jake,
I also faced the same problem recently.
As Mike said, you need to add your role in " Transaction -> Security". Here, you will find all the available roles. Put the required role in Reader and Writer Roles windows.
As far as your question is concerned, by default MII assigns XMII Administrators, XMII Developers and XMII Users roles (MII 12.0) as Reader to Transaction. Where as MII assigns XMII Administrators and XMII Developers roles as Writer to Transaction.
    Hope this helps!
    Best Regards,
    Kedar

  • MII 12.1.5 Web Service Action Block

Is there existing documentation on using the Web Service Action Block, specifically documenting the following Object Properties:
    WSDLBaseUrl
    Credential Alias:
I am trying to execute a Web Service Action block against a web service that uses http and basic authentication (User/Password).  the WSDL loads just fine, the UserName and Password properties exposed through the WSDL are assigned valid values in Links Configuration, but according to the web service logs, the user name 'Guest' is being passed for the UserName.  This same web service works in MII 12.1.1 Build 273.
    Thanks in advance!

    Steve,
The WSDLBaseURL property just prepends a string to the WSDL URL property so that you can abstract out the protocol, server and port values separately depending on the target system you wish to hit for the service call.

  • MII Logon Page

    Hello,
We are on MII 12.1.7 build(47) with NW CE 7.11 SP3.
We have integrated with LDAP, setup SSO betweem MII and ECC all works fine.
    We have a requirement,
    Say,
    1) User Logs in to MII using a generic account (basically it is auto-login kind of stuff, an URL embedded with generic j_user and j_password will directly log user into MII)
    2) User likes to perform Material Reservation and just before he does that we need to authenticate the User with his UserId and he must be authenticated against his integrated LDAP UserID and if successful allow him to Reserve material in ECC using his ID
    3) Once Reserved take out his session.
    Challenges,
    1) How can I open Login page while already an Generic User Session is Active and this session will be carried over to all the child screens.
    2) Even somehow If I get to Authenticate, will be able to perform SSO using the authenticated UserID?
    3) And then when how would I kill the authenticated User session when Reservation is complete by keeping Parent screen session alive?
One the options I am thinking of is writing a Custom JSP Login page.
Answer to my question may be something really simple but currently I am running out of options.
Please advise me with your valuable suggestions.
    Regards,
    Adarsh

    Hi Adarsh,
    Have you considered below option.
    1. Mii Login with Generic User Session.
    2. Popup to get User name and Password for New User id.
    3. Set Autobind Property of Xacute Server to true.
    4. Call the Xacute Query(Not direct transaction) with Ajax using the new User Id.
This method works for session variables like IllumLoginName.
Not sure if it will work for MYSAPSSO2  as well.
    Regards
    Anshul

  • MII Scheduler Execution Target

    Hello,
we have cpu-intensive scheduled transactions that we want to separate from the load of end users on our production cluster:
    MII Production system PRD
Server 1 - DB and 2 NW Java server nodes
Server 2 - 3 NW Java server nodes
Server 3 - 3 NW Java server nodes
By using SAP Web Dispatcher, we can direct users to servers 2 and 3, sparing server 1 to DB and background processing.  But on MII scheduler we can't set the execution target to server 1.  On ABAP jobs we have an execution target, where we can define an aplication server or group where it'll run.  How can we accomplish the same on MII Scheduler?  We're using MII 12.2.5 Build(66).
    Thank you,
    Marcos

    Salvatore,
thank you for your explanation.  I read your document on performance and found that we're trying a 'big data' variation of scenario 5 & 6.  In general terms, the problem that we have is about scaling the background processing while doing online processing concurrently on the same server.  Since we cannot control which transaction will run on each instance, our approach to solve this was to split the productive system in many systems, each one responsible for part of the load:
System 1: user processing - does not have scheduled transactions
System 2: batch processing part 1 - scheduled transactions for sites A and B
System 3: batch processing part 2 - scheduled transactions for site C (part 1)
System 4: batch processing part 3 - scheduled transactions for site C (part 2)
System 5: batch processing part 4 - scheduled transactions for site D
This architecture has many obvious support drawbacks, but it is the only way we found to separate user and batch loads on MII.  On ABAP systems we have job target control.
I wonder what other users are doing to separate the load, or maybe they don't have that much processing on one server, like in your scenario.  Here at Petrobras we're used to deal with massive amounts of data, say 5K tags por request times the varying granularity.
    Please advice.
    Regards,
    Marcos

Now they both have gone down, all of a sudden
Please suggest the checks and corrections, I should do to overcome this hurdle.
Thanks for any help in Advance.

    No. of Available Connections
