Thanks for your update. I have one more question
I have downloaded jdk6 update 38 for application java upgrade . but rt.jar is missing under jdk/jre/lib . how to get rt.jarFor the application server, make sure you download the 32-bit JDK, not the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). Do not choose the 64-bit version, which is not supported.

Note: I would suggest you go with the latest update.

Document for Out of Place Upgrade of ebs database
Hi,
Can someone point out to me a document which gives steps for out of place upgrade of ebs 12.1.3 database from 11.1.0 to 11.2.0.3 ? I tried it myself and it went well but I am still not sure whether something is still missing because there are still 346 invalid objects in the db. Here are the steps I have followed:
On the source:
Run adpreclone
2. Run utlu112i.sql (copy it from the 11.2.0 home)
Act on the recommendations of utlu112i.sql.
Backup the source db and the apps folder
Copy the backup to the target server.
6. Copy pfile.
7.
On the target:
install the 11.2.0.3 software
apply required patches
Restore and recover the database.
run catupgrd.sql
run catuppst.sql;
run utlrp.sql;
run dbupgdiag.sql
run adconfig.sh contextfile=<contextfile> at db tier.
Shut down listener and database and restart to load the new env.
restored apps folder (backup of source)
run adcfgclone.pl appsTier
run autoconfig.
Regards,
VinodHi Vinod,
Please find some out of place upgrade links:
UPGRADE 11.1.0.7 DATABASE TO 11.2.0.3 DATABASE WITH R12.1.3
Please also see the forum as it is been discussed several times.
BTW, with respect to your invalid objects did you try recompiling the objects using:
1. adadmin > Compile apps schema
2. connected as sysdba > run @$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql

Out of place upgrade of ebs 12.1.3 database
Hi,
I am trying out of place upgrade from 11.1.0 to 11.2.0 of my ebs database. The OS is RHEL. So far I have done as follows:
un utlu112i.sql on the source (copy it from the 11.2.0 home)
Act on the recommendations of utlu112i.sql.
Take rman backup of the source db.
Copy the backup to the target server.
Copy pfile.
Copy passwordfile if it is there on the source.
On the target
Edit the pfile.
Restore controlfile.
Restore and recover the database.
Mount the database.
Spool upgrade_info.log
Alter database open resetlogs upgrade;
Drop old tempfiles and create new ones.
Set echo on
@?/rdbms/admin/catupgrd.sql
Check the log files for any errors.
@$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/catuppst.sql;
Check for any errors
@$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql;
$ sqlplus / as sysdba
sql> alter session set nls_language='American';
sql> @dbupgdiag.sql
sql> exit
run adconfig.sh contextfile=<contextfile> at db tier.
Shut down listener and database and restart to load the new env.
Removed apps folder and copied source apps folder.
Removed inst folder contents.
Now I am not sure about the next step. Any suggestions?
Regards,
VinodHi Vinod,
That is not the case usually, This what usually the output when you run the retrieve command (from my test machine):

The following context files are available:
[1] TEST_ebistestsvr (APPL_TOP Context)
[2] TEST_ebistestsvr (Database Context)
Here you would select, option no.1
I would suggest you do the following.
Assuming there are no patches and no binary changes done on the Source instance.
1. Run a preclone on Apps Tier
2. Copy the source $COMMON_TOP/clone to target $COMMON_TOP/clone
3. Try retrieving the apps context file as suggested above.
Hope this works!

Help needed in 10gR2 to 11gR2 EBS Database Upgrade
Hi,
I am upgrading EBS Database from 10gR2 (10.2.0.3) to 11gR2 11.2.0.3. While going through Oracle Note Complete Checklist for Manual Upgrades to 11gR2 [ID 837570.1], under the point 3 of "Recommendations from Source database" it says:
"Disable the custom triggers that would fire before/after DDL and enable them after the upgrade is complete."
I want to know is it compulsory to disable the custom triggers? If yes then how can I get the list of those custom triggers and disable/enable them before and after the database upgrade?
Please let me know the commands. My operating system is Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.8.
Thanks,
AbdulHi Srini,
Thanks for the docs.
EBS version is R12 (12.0.6) and 10gR2 (10.2.0.3).
Currently I am only upgrading EBS Database from 10gR2 (10.2.0.3) to 11gR2 (11.2.0.3) and want to use it with my current R12 version.
Currently I am following these Oracle notes:
- Complete Checklist for Manual Upgrades to 11gR2 [ID 837570.1]
- Interoperability Notes EBS 12.0 and 12.1 with Database 11gR2 [ID 1058763.1]
I hope I am on the right track?

Hi,
We are in the middle of upgrading our EBS from 12.0.6 to 12.1.1. We have successfully applied patch and upgraded Oracle homes.
I have upgraded JDk and got below output.
$ADJVAPRG -version
java version "1.6.0_20"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_20-b02)
But after upgrading JRE - I got the below output.
$ java -version
java version "1.4.2"

Please suggest on this.

Hi All,
I am upgrading EBS database from 10.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.3
OS - RHEL 5
EBS - 12.1.3
While running pre-upgrade too , utl112i.sql am getting some warning. Please help me what step I can follow for this warning.
WARNING: --> Database contains schemas with objects dependent on DBMS_LDAP package.
.... Refer to the 11g Upgrade Guide for instructions to configure Network ACLs.

Thanks,Srini,Hussein.
Thanks for the update. I have gone through the mentioned link and doc - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/network.112/e16543.pdf.
I didn't understand properly. And we haven't implement LDAP/AD inegration to EBS. And this DB need a connection other database thorugh DBLINK.
When I query : select * from dba_dependencies where referenced_name IN ('UTL_TCP','UTL_SMTP','UTL_MAIL','UTL_HTTP','UTL_INADDE','DBMS_LDAP') and owner NOT IN('SYS','PUBLIC','ORDPLUGINS'); Getting a long output. Sorry to put the below.

How important this one and What step I can follow for this output. Do I need to check/consider for this warnings. ?

Need to connect to upgraded Oracle EBS R12 version from R11. The current ODI set up is pointing to R11, Can i use the same connection to point to R12? Please hele experts...
Rp1. in physical connections part can i use the same work schema
2. Can i use same contexts created or do i need to create everything as new and then try?
Thanks,
Rp.
Hi,
As you mentioned that you just upgraded the database, so the data is same and schema is same you can connect with the same work schema.
Yes, you can use the same contexts , but need to do Reverse Engineering for your new database.
And about data server, i think you also have no need to create new data server, if hostname,sid and port etc are same as these were with R11(consult with your DBAs regarding it) -

OBIEE 11G Implemented - Upgrading Oracle EBS 11g to R12
We have OBIEE 11G implemented and are currently sourcing the data from Oracle EBS 11g. We are upgrading our source database to R12 and need to know the impact on our Informatica mappings. Can anyone point me to some documentation, or have leave some helpful hints on how to proceed with this project. Thanks.
Hello,
I assume you are using BI APPS, there shouldn't be any impact on informatica mappings. Informatica comes with prebuit adapters for EBS 12 version, you need to use ORAR12 adapter. -
Native Compilation on EBS Database
'm upgrading an 11i database from 9i to 10g. It is mentioned that as an option I might turn on Native Compilation. Native Compilation is helpful mostly with compute-intensive PL/SQLs, does anyone have any insights regarding the effect of Native Compilation on an EBS database?
