JRE version that supports Swing - Revisited

Hi All,
I have developed an application using swing components like JTextField, JFormattedTextField, JTextArea, JTable, etc. I had installed JDK 1.4.1 to develop this application.
I wanted to test it in another machine. I have installed j2re-1_4_1_01-windows-i586, the machine is running on Windows 2000, Advanced server.
When I try to run the Main class, I got an error saying
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFound Error: javax/swing/JFormattedTextField not found
I had posted this on the forum yesterday. One of the replies suggested that I implitly specify the classpath for rt.jar and remove all other runtime versions.
I have uninstalled all the versions of the JRE, re-installed JRE 1.4.1, included rt.jar in the class path. Now I get this.
C:\Filecollection>java filecollection.FileCollectionClass

I do not have a definitive answer for you, but, I seem to remember seeing this message when I was using a compiler that was not sufficient to understand a new jre.
I hope this leads in the right direction.

  • How do go back to a version that supports Real Player?

How do go back to a version that supports Real Player?

According to the instructions given on the Norton Community forum under "Other Norton Products/Comcast-Customers - Norton Toolbar Problem in Firefox 10", I have done everything necessary. And I do have a Norton toolbar (Safe Web and Identity Safe) when I open Firefox 10. As was mentioned in the previous posts here, you need to run manual LiveUpdate then reboot until you have version 5.2.0.13. Then reboot and run manual LiveUpdate again and reboot once more. One thing that I noticed is that Norton never told me that it had updated the patch for Firefox 10, so I didn't know. I guess if you have the toolbar when you run Firefox 10, then you have done it all.

  • IOS version that support 2048 bits certificate

    Hello,
I need to update a 2504  Wireless Controller to a version that supports 2048 bits certificates.
I´m checking release notes for release 7.4.110.0 and I don´t see any information about a limitation in certification size (2048 bytes in my case).
Do you know any restriction about the certificate size in this or another version?
    Thanks and Regards.
    Iván.

2048 bit is supported on the WLC. I use it for WebAuth and 3rd party certificates as these vendors only issue 2048 these days.

  • Change JRE version that firefox uses

Trying to run applets that are being compiled using Java 8. I had JRE 1.8 installed on my machine but when I run the site I'm making, the embed applets don't work and what I have below is what pops up which says JRE 1.7 is being used. How can I change this so 1.8 is used???

  • Where do I find the latest version that supports Win/ME - I am running V 2.0.0.20 on an old machine.

I am running an older version of Mozilla V 2.0.0.20 on an IBM Pentium III Processor w/ 256MB of RAM and Win/ME - is there a place where I can get a newer release of Firefox - but not the latest. The present Version 24 does not support this operating system. A certain website 'bright.com' does not recognize this version I am using as valid - stating my browser is 'older than dirt' (which it is) and to upgrade.

hello, sorry starting with firefox 3 support for windows ME was dropped, so you're already on the newest old version that will be running on your system.
if possible you should consider upgrading to a newer machine since windows ME and firefox 2 have reached their end of life a long time ago and are affected by countless security vulnerabilities which can be exploited...

  • What is the highest Firefox version that supports my favourite plugins ?

I marked the 4 plugins I will not relinquish even if they are no longer available in higher versions. That case I will not update.
OR, what substitution is available instead of them ?
Anyway, all info I have about Fox plugins that my favs are no longer supported, new versions are coming out more and more often, and this ruins plugin compatibility. I have no specific detailed info, neither have time digging in mozilla forums or support pages for hours. I rarely found useful info there in the past.
I'd like someone who spends 12 hours a day here to post corresponding links.
    Thank you.
    [http://www.petyamaster.hu/temp/MyFoxPlugins.PNG MY PLUGINS]

adblock plus, auto former & tinyeye work fine with the latest firefox 12
tab kit won't work - i don't know what you are using it for exactly, but there is [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/tab-mix-plus tab mix plus] that allows you to tweak tab settings in lots of different ways and [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/colorfultabs colorful tabs] for colorful tabs ;-)
since firefox 10 the addon compatibility system has changed to match the new rapid release cycle - so those addons will still be working after each update.

  • I have Mac version 10.3.9 and would like to upgrade my Firefox to a version that supports Google calendar.

I have a Mac version 10.3.9 and use Google email and calendar, and am now getting messages that they will be phasing out support for my browser, which is Firefox 2.0.0.20
The new Firefox version offered requires Mac 10.4 or above. Can I upgrade my Firefox to meet the Google requirements without upgrading my Mac?

You can alco check using the model number.
Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) model number 7,1 or higher
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) model number 5,1 or higher
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) model number 2,1 or higher
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
Xserve (Early 2009) model number 3,1 or higher
    Your Mac needs:
OS X v10.6.8 or OS X Lion already installed
2 GB or more of memory
8 GB or more of available space
Check to make sure your applications are compatible.         Application Compatibility

  • Latest JRE version that will run on Solaris 2.5.1?

Could anyone tell me the latest possible version of the JRE that will run on Solaris 2.5.1? I know that 1.3 will run on Solaris 2.6, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer regarding Solaris 2.5.1. Thanks!

OK, for anyone else dealing with this type of issue, the fix is simple:  Install the Creative Cloud desktop app if you haven't.  Click on Apps, filter apps by "previous version" and boom, legacy apps.  Easy.

  • 7920 - Firmware Version that support WEP, LEAP and WPA

    Hi Guys,
My Customer have the CallManager version 4.1.3. He have the IP Phone 7920 and need use WEP, LEAP and WPA. Anybody tell me if version cmterm_7920.4.0-03-02 support this protocolos?
    Thank You,
    Wilson

LEAP uses WEP 40 or 128 bit encryption
    WPA (or WPA-PSK) uses TKIP
You can only define one encryption type per radio interface so that is why both won't work simultaneously...
With multiple vlans setup, you can now assign encryption on a per vlan/ssid basis.

  • I am trying to get my application (e-qip )"We did not detect that your web browser supports 128-bit high encryption.Have trouble "Continue" button below, you will need to upgrade your web browser to a version that supports 128-bit encryption"

I am trying to complete my TSA job application and it is a requirement to complete e-qip questions?

That website is using an old method of checking the encryption level a web browser is capable of, it mentions Netscape 6.x/7 which are like from 6 to 7 years ago. It looks like they're checking for a '''U''' in the User Agent string. That particular letter in the UA goes back to the days of export controls for encryption software, but those controls expired over 15 years ago. That letter has been virtually meaningless since then. <br />
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Agent
You can fool that website into thinking that you are using an older version of Firefox with this extension. <br />
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/user-agent-switcher/ <br />
    Use this for a custom UA string that should work there:<br /> '''Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.18) Gecko/20110614 Firefox/3.6.18'''
Or just use IE for that one website.

  • Minimum SL version that supports SSD?

I have a Mac mini 3,1 running 10.9 on a Samsung SSD 840 128 GB internal SATA drive. It works, but I need to go back to 10.8 until a known bug in 10.9 gets fixed. The base install version of OSX for the mini is 10.6.2, but doesn't include driver support for SSDs so I can't just wipe the SSD with DiskUtility and install 10.6.2 on it. ML didn't come as a full install, only an upgrade. I don't see a clear path to do this...
Is there a way I can get back to 10.8?

What you can do is to redownload OS X Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store. Open the Mac App Store, go to Purchases and redownload the OS X Mountain Lion installer.
When the download finishes, use DiskMaker X to create a USB drive or DVD with the OS X Mountain Lion installer. Then, hold the Option (Alt) key while your Mac is starting up and choose the USB drive or DVD.
Open Disk Utility, select Macintosh HD in the sidebar, go to Erase tab and erase the volume. Finally, close Disk Utility and reinstall OS X.
Make a backup of your files manually before formatting the hard drive

  • JDK/JRE Version support for Oracle Lite

    Hi,
We have developed an application using jdk 1.4.x which also using Oracle9i Lite 5.0.2 release as a database. Application behaves normal except while closing it throws java exception (Exceptio Guard Page Exception) error.
Is it because of the JDK Version we are using? What is the JDK/JRE version level supported by Oracle Lite.
    Thanks
    Krishna

    Right
I got the same problem too.
When my program and oracle 9i lite is running under JRE1.3.1, everything is ok.
However, when i migrate the jre to 1.4.x, the program must fail and report DLL exception after closing.
    So trouble~!

  • JRE version requirements

I am attempting to write an applet which requires JRE 1.5+ to be installed. For visitors that either do not have any JRE installed or have an older version, I would like my webpage to be able to redirect them to download the latest JRE. I also would like this mechanism to support all browsers and all platforms if possible. I created a web page with an applet tag and tried used HtmlConverter to insert scripts and tags that support various platforms/browsers. It seems to work fine with IE, but when I visit the page with Netscape or Firefox on a machine that has only JRE 1.4.2 installed, all I get is an applet box with a red X. The Java Console shows an "UnsupportedClassVersionError."
I am actually writing this applet only for the purpose of ensuring that the user has a new enough JRE in order to run our WebStart application. If in the jnlp file I specify a JRE version that is higher than the user has installed, it correctly attempts to download a new version. But if they have no Java installed at all, the browser simply tries to save the jnlp file. So this doesn't provide what I need either.
One possible solution might be to compile a JRE 1.1 compiled class and use that to redirect the user to http://java.com/download if it does not detect a 1.5 JRE. But I am not sure if this is a good idea or not because this version is no longer supported by Sun.
    Anybody have any recommendations?
