JS columns distribute problem

Hi,
sitting on this already few hours - what am I doing wrong?
I'm trying to evenly distribute columns in a table (_tb) using folowing line, but table stays unaffected
(I properly addressed table everything else is working just fine)
_tb.columns.everyItem().redistribute(HorizontalOrVertical.HORIZONTAL);
any idea to evenly  distribute rows/columns in a table
(same as Menu Command: Table->Distribute Columns Evenly)?
thanks
smok
PS.
simple workaround was :
colLgth = _tb.columns.length;
wdth = _tb.width;
_wdth = wdth/colLgth;
_tb.columns.everyItem().width = _wdth;
but I would like to do it in one line without math and using command "redistribute"
thnks
smok

tb.columns[0].redistribute (HorizontalOrVertical.VERTICAL, tb.rows[0]);
What your own attempt probably did -- and without saying so -- was something like "distribute width of one single column", which indeed does not make sense.
Somehow I also wouldn't have thought "VERTICAL" is correct here But it failed with HORIZONTAL, and now the Undo menu says "Undo Distribute Columns Evenly" so I guess that's what it takes.

    Hi Bas
    Thanks - it will just be a view as basically I just want to print the data via jasper
    In my IA report under column attributes there is one called FULLNAME which is derived from INITCAP(INDSNAME)||' '||INITCAP(INDFNAME) AS FULLNAME,
    So how can I get the data displayed in the FULLNAME column in the IA report into a single record view.  At the moment my IA report the Link Column is currently linked to a 'Link to custom target'
    the target is a 'Page in this Application'  in this case page 9
    and in Item1 under Name the value is P9_ROWID and the value is #ROWID#

  • Column display problem in Sqlplus

    Hello,
    I am facing a strange problem. I am using Oracle 9i R2 and have two databases on a machine.
    I run a select statement:
    select 'aamir', substr(test,1,5) from dual;
    where test is a function that just returns 'aamir'.
    The problem is that when I run this select form database A, it gives output like this:
    'AAMIR'
    SUBSTR(TEST,1,5)
    aamir
    aamir
    and when I run the same statement from database B withoug quitting Sqlplus (using connect user1/passwd1@B), it shows result as follows:
    'AAMI SUBST
    aamir aamir
    Why does it change the line or why is line width so large ??
    I am having problem because there is script (awk script) that manipulate results and because of line feed between two columns the (awk)script doesnt return expected results.
    Thank you
    Aamir

    Your SQL*Plus settings must be different in the two sessions. You should have a glogin.sql that spans all users and a login.sql file that is particular to you. The login.sql file is only run when you first connect, it won't be re-run when you type "connect" in an existing session, so some of its settings may be lost.
    If you depend on the formatting of your output, I believe that Kevin's point is that you ought to put explicit column formatting into your SQL script. Something like
    column col1 format a10;
    column col2 format a10;
    column col3 format a15;
    SELECT 'shortVal' AS col1,
           '0123456789' AS col2,
           'reallyLongValueMoreThan15Characters' AS col3
      FROM dual;
    scott@jcave > SELECT 'shortVal' AS col1,
      2         '0123456789' AS col2,
      3         'reallyLongValueMoreThan15Characters' AS col3
      4    FROM dual;
    COL1       COL2       COL3
    shortVal   0123456789 reallyLongValue
                          MoreThan15Chara

  • ALV Download to Excel Column Colors Problem

  • Report Column Sorting problem

    I have a report based on a view. For some reason some of the columns are not being sorted correctly. After pressing the column header to sort date columns the underlying data is not sorted properly (it’s out of order) or it’s not sorted at all.
    Can you please let me know if there is a known bug causing that?

    I think I'm having the same problem.
    I have a report with data columns, several "not shown" columns, and several column links. I've noticed that any columns in the query after a certain point, will not sort the correct column. If I show all the columns and allow them all to sort, then some of the columns will sort the data in another column. (for example clicking on the header/sort link for column x sorts the table by column y and clicking on the sort link for column z sorts column x, etc).
    I've noticed that I can move columns around in my select query and no matter how they are arranged, after the 7th or 8th column in the select statement, none of the columns following that will sort properly. I've tried all kinds of things, changing my select query around, enabling and disabling sorting, adding additional null columns in, setting and unsetting the default sort order, changing the order of the columns in the report. I don't have an order by in my query or anything weird besides some where clauses (most of which are from the default search functionality).
    Has anyone found a solution to this problem? We just upgraded from HTML DB 2.2 to APEX 3.0 and the problem remained the same.
    Thanks,
    Greg

  • Layout column alignment problem

    Hi All,
    I have a form where I am printing the line item details. I am using the following code
    &EKET-EINDT&,,&EKPO-NETPR1&,,&EKPO-NETWR1&
    This gives the output
    08/26/2007          688.5          1377.02
    Between unit price and net price i have another coloumn to print Tax, which is only printed for documents relevant for tax (this is printed from another text element)
    the amount 1377.02 is now printing under a wrong column. I need to increase spacing between unit price and net price.
    I tried using the following code (by adding additional ,, )
    &EKET-EINDT&,,&EKPO-NETPR1&,,,,&EKPO-NETWR1&
    But this does not make any difference in the output.
    Can anyone help me how to get these values aligned?
    Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
    Mark.

    Mark, as stated, the ,, between two fields indicates a tab in the paragraph format being used.
    To adjust you may need to create your own paragraph format as a copy of a standard one so your changes do not affect other lines in the form.  Generally for columns where you are printing a field containing text you would use a tab with LEFT alignment, while for an amount you would use RIGHT or DECIMAL alignment.  Just measure on the paper where you want them and set the number of CM / MM for the tabs on the paragraph format.
    Printing &EKPO-NETPR1& or &EKPO-NETWR1& is dropping the first character of these fields - this may cause you problems if you ever use large amounts.  By choosing RIGHT / DECIMAL tabs, you will not need to remove any leading spaces.
    If you need to change the output of a field there are a number of options you can use: eg: &EKPO-NETPR(C)& compresses spaces in the field - &EKPO-NETPR(Z)& omits leading zeros.  In SE71 when editing the text in a window - use the Insert>Symbols>New  menu option to get a popup where you can put your field name and select output options like this.

  • ADF column footer problem

    hi all,
    im using Jdev 11.1.1.0.0. I have an inline table on my jspx page. I calculate the sum of one column in a managed bean. I want to display this value in table's footer section. So I added an input text to the column's footer and set the value from the managed bean. I have set the inline style of the table to width:100%;height:100%. But when the page renders, there is a big gap between the footer section and the last record. My table has only two records. Can anyone advice me on how to remove this gap?
    Thanks in advance,
    Nad

    Hi Frank,
    Thanks for replying. I tried your solution. It works fine. The gap between the last column and the column footer is now removed.
    But still there is a problem. Since it's an inline table, when the detail node (in detail stamp facet) is clicked, the detail table appears, but the full table is not adjusted to show the content. So in order to have a look at the detail table, we have to scroll inside. It is better if the table can be adjusted to view the detail table without much effort. I hope my problem is clear. Can this be done? Pls help....
    Thanks,
    Nad.

  • Column name problem

    Hi all.... I have a little strange problem.. I hope you all can help me in solving this.
    for brief intro, I have an web application on MySQL written entirely in JAVA. Now we want to migrate from MySQL to Oracle... We have used Oracle Migration Workbench for migrating Schema and data. There is no problem uptill now.
    The real problem is with the column names... to clear the problem lets have an example...
    In mysql, if you execute[b] 'Select employeeID,empName from employee'  you will always get 'employeeID' and 'empName' column names in the resultset meta data... but if you executes the same query on oracle you will get 'EMPLOYEEID' and 'EMPNAME' column names in resultset meta data... then we make some xmls using these column names and then parse them and get values using HashMap... now in hashmap 'a' is different from 'A'... We did not take care of this problem while building this application. Now the application is almost completed and we are just one step away from migrating to Oracle but this problem is hindering us.
    just keep in mind there are several jsps,java beans, java services working on DB. So we need such a solution to apply on oracle and get our desired column names back from result set meta data.
    I have tried multiple solutions for this.
    1. Synonyms.. but you can only create synonyms for table not for column names
    2. Create table with double qoutes... but then we have to change all our queries which requires a lot of files to change.
    3. Create Views.... but it has same problem as of point 2.
    Can you suggest any better way to work around this problem... which require minimum effort and we migrate to oracle with existing code... Otherwise we have to do a lot of donkey work to change the code...
    Thanks in advance

    migrate to oracle with existing code... Otherwise we
    have to do a lot of donkey work to change the code...Is that not why SED/AWK/GREP and PERL were invented?
    As others have said, the SQL standard as well as several implementations do not support mixed- or camel-case identifiers. IN addition, only 8 character identifers are required, all else is 'above the standard'. You are facing a typical porting issue.

  • Case sensitive column name problem

    I have a strange problem in my application.
    I install the application on several machines with no problem but in one machine I'm getting an exceptions on:
    "Column 'SomeColumnName' does not belong to table"
    the code look like this:
    DataRow newDataRow = myTableFromDatabase.NewRow();
    newDataRow["SomeColumnName"] = dr["SomeColumnName"];
    when I change the code to upper case:
    DataRow newDataRow = myTableFromDatabase.NewRow();
    newDataRow["SOMECOLUMNNAME"] = dr["SOMECOLUMNNAME"];
    it works on the problematic machine.
    - I got the same problem on reading data from OracleDataReader.
    - The property DataTable.CaseSensitive was not changed (default = false).
    I'm not sure this is ODP problem or .net but I can't find any .net issues on that.

    Ok ,
    This is the most bizar bug that I ever saw:
    The problem was that the machine was running in turkey.
    In .NET culture settings the function ToUpper is not work on the letter 'i' when the region is turkey.
    That means that oracle ODP OracleDataReader is case sensitive on the column name - if the column name have the letter 'i'.

    thanks in advance

    We occasionally get this problem in 11.1.1.4.0 after the following general sequence of events:
    a) we create a new transient attribute in the EO
    b) we include the EO transient attribute in the VO
    c) we modify the EO transient attribute in some specific way (maybe adding a Groovy expressions)
    At this point the VO attribute gets out of sync with the EO attribute and by implication the VO query that hits & returns from the database doesn't match the number of VO attributes.
    While I can't pin point the exact problem for you, we hit this regularly enough that our team knows the solution is to drop the VO attribute and recreate it by importing the EO attribute into the VO again. This resyncs the VO correctly and we don't get this error.

  • Column separator problem

    Regarding the column separation line, I know how to change column numbers on regular pages, but it does not allow me this option on the opening chapter pages. The vertical line separating the page in half stays there. How can I go to single column, thus eliminating the vertical line in middle?

    yes. Number of columns. Easy to fix on regular page, but not on first page of chapter. I'm pretty sure the problem is about number of columns. Create a new text box? I don't think that would make the line go away.
