JSF-Hibernate signature mismatch

Hi all, I am performing some experiments that use both JSF and Hibernate technologies (with JDev10.1.3. preview). A single class that uses hibernate runs without any problems and gets data from Db as list. If i try using this class as a bean for a JSF datatable I get the following error:
javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: void org.objectweb.asm.ClassVisitor.visit(int, int, java.lang.String, java.lang.String, java.lang.String[], java.lang.String)     at com.sun.faces.taglib.html_basic.DataTableTag.doEndTag(DataTableTag.java:501)...
Tha API declared signature for the 'visit' method is
(int version, int access, String name, String signature, String superName, String[] interfaces)
but hibernate-related libraries allow only the 'wrong' signature. My question is: where does the JSF framework touch this class? The hibernate framework alone does not give any exception, thus there must be some problem with JSF, (maybe a library problem).
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I gave a look at your article and noticed we used different hibernate versions (I was using hibernate 3.0). I downloaded the libraries you suggested and used them. No more errors appear! Hamletic question: is it 'normal' that the latest version of a product is 'worse' (well, for me it is) than the previous ones?
Thanks a lot

  • JSF + Hibernate - non- persistant objects in a dataTable

    This is more of a conceptual question, concerning creating a dataTable from a list.
    I have a User-with-Projects 1:M relationship. Projects are obligatory and not obligatory. I have a user with one compulsory project and a 5 not obligatory. The point is that the 6 projects should be visible in the UI under a h:dataTable component while each inputText from the dataTable should be mapped to beans. The obligatory project is always persisted in the DB, but the others are persisted only if data is inserted in the UI.
    So my question is:
    How could I form a dataTable, including the 6 project, and check if a data is inserted in the not-compulsory ones?
    I tried to create a User object with 6 Project entities (pojo classes), the first one is persisted in the DB and the others are not. This way I had a problem with the lack of ProjectID in the 5 remaining projects (since they are not a part of the DB). The issue could be elsewhere, but that's a rock I hit.
    I'll also try creating a ProjectBean with 6 project, on a form submit checking each of the rows for a new data. If user input is available, the project would be inserted in the table. I could also try using an actionListener to check for the input, but I'm not quite sure of getting the correct row I need when the listener is active.
    Is there any elegant way of mapping the projects and insert the not- obligatory only if they contain data?
    Thanks in advance,
    nofearinc

    >
    Straightforward enough: check if the values aren't null ;) You can also consider to add a valueChangeListener to one or more fields. It would only be fired if the field's value has been changed.
    Thanks for the comment, It was just weird for me how to have a User with a List<Project> and not all of the projects are persisted :) It seems a little strange for me as a realization and I assume that Hibernate would also be confused after session saving. That's why I think that I'll need a list of backing beans which would lately be transfered to entities if data is persisted (just being curious if there is more easy and elegant way to do that).
    The valueChangeListener would be called after any data is inserted in the row - it's possible that a user could go wrong and edit a field, then erase it again. So I have to insert in the DB only on a form submit (less DB activity).
    I'll try this getRowData() method tomorrow, it seems like a reasonable solution if I could use it in my case (dataTable with list of projects and get each row as a particular project).
    Thanks again for the reply, I'd be happy to hear any ideas on the subject ;)

    Things are going quite wrong when you're invoking HQL queries to update stuff in stead of properly using model objects (entities). But for actual assistance, I suggest you check out the hibernate forum.
    https://forum.hibernate.org/
    but perhaps you may just want to start with the hibernate documentation, which is quite complete I can tell you.
    http://docs.jboss.org/hibernate/orm/4.1/manual/en-US/html/
    This part in particular:

  • Best practice on creating a managable questionnaire/survey with JSF

    Hello all,
    As a part of a bigger project we need to build a questionnaire with managable questions. This means that clients can add/modify/delete questions as they wish. The database side is figured out and designed, but what im really thinking is how to collect the answers. The questions are populated from the database and the answers will be given either trough radiobuttons or textfields.
    The thing i cant figure out is how to get the the answers of questions to the bean so they can be processed? It cant be said how many questions there will be so creating properties in to the bean beforehand wont work.
    We are using jsf,hibernate and icefaces.
    Thanks in advance.. this is really bugging me

    Shoul have searched the forums a bit better. Solution found at http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=427&threadID=5117301 with some modifications.

  • Looking for JSF web hosting

    Hi,
    I'm looking for an inexpensive but capable web hosting company that supports JSF, Hibernate, and so on.
    I'm currently using lunarpages.com and they are very affordable (approx $125/year) and they have great features like unlimited storage and bandwidth, and also basic JSP/Servlet support -- BUT they do not support J2EE technologies like JSF, Spring, Hibernate.
    Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks,
    rh

    DUH! You're absolutely right.
    This does work:
    http://rhume55.s156.eatj.com/webproject1/
    because it's trying to load index.jsp
    But this does work:
    http://rhume55.s156.eatj.com/webproject1/index.jsf
    Thanks for that.
    However, when I try to load the same app at from lunarpages pages using the correct "jsf" url, I get this new error, any ideas?

  • Problem with JSF

    Hello,
    I have a problem with finishing my project which is based on JSF, Hibernate and EJB technologies. The matter is that Ive built the application which manages a group of reports and assign sections and reports to the single user. I have two types of users, simple users and administrators. Simple user log in to the system and is able to generate reports which were assigned to him by admin. In the system can be more than just a one administrator. The problem is when one administrator is on-line and another log in to the system. Then both of them are working on the same instances of classes. In JSF files Im working on created session beans which are defined in faces-config file. Im new in JSF so maybe my attitude to this technology is not correct. If anyone know how to solve my problem please help me
    Regards
    krabu

    The same instance of LoginBean.class is used by both of administrators and this is the problem ...The above statement is wrong. There are two different sessions for the two users. You are probably seeing data because its persisted in the database by one user and when the next user logs in, the application fetches data from the DB and displays it. Its more of a design problem if you do not want the second user to see the data which the first user has entered.Akash,
    I think we do not understand each other. My application is really simple. Simple user is able to see some links to reports when log in to the system or not. It depends on administrator which is able, in the form I've mentioned before, to assign the right to see a report by a user or not. I don't know what do you mean by saying "There are two different sessions for the two users".
    To explain you what the problem is try to follow such a situation. Let say we have two classes : LoginBean.class and EditForm.class. Based on that classes we create two session beans : loginBean and editForm in faces-config file as follows:
            <managed-bean>
              <managed-bean-name>
              loginBean</managed-bean-name>
              <managed-bean-class>
              log.LoginBean</managed-bean-class>
              <managed-bean-scope>
              session</managed-bean-scope>
         </managed-bean>
         <managed-bean>
              <managed-bean-name>
              editForm</managed-bean-name>
              <managed-bean-class>
              log.EditForm</managed-bean-class>
              <managed-bean-scope>
              session</managed-bean-scope>
         </managed-bean> We have also created two JSF files, one login.jsf which include authorization component based on loginBean and second: editForm.jsf which include a SelectOneMenu component to choose a user and a form to assign selected user a report based on editForm bean.
    We log in to the system as a administration. We are after authorization and enter the editForm.jsf file. We choose a user from SelectOneMenu component and make some changes in the form. But we do not submit anything and do NOT send it to the database. In this moment another administrator log-in, go to the editForm.jsf file and after that he sees that in his selectOneMenu component a user is chosen and the form is filled with data entered by prevoius administrator.
    I'm new in JSF but I've thought that when I create a session bean a new instance of bean ( new instance of class ) is created for all users which try to use it, or maybe I'm doing something wrong or should write some additional code to achieve such a function ...

  • Debug my jsf

    hi
    am developing my first web application in java using JSF/Hibernat/glassfish/Netbeans IDE i hope to find some way to debug my program during the execution and logging error messages
    thank's for help

    I don't see anything in that page that is particularly useful. Look for resources on how to debug using Netbeans, debugging a web/enterprise application isn't much different from debugging a regular client application. You set breakpoints and you let the code run by going to a specific JSF page. That will only properly work if the container (server) is executed from within the IDE itself so it can setup a proper link to the JVM debugging features for you.

  • 2012 R2 Web Application Proxy returns 400 (Bad Request) for Kerberos IIS App

    I've gone through all of the step-by-step examples for publishing applications with the Web App Proxy and I'm getting HTTP 400 when I try to publish an IIS Kerberos application. I'm using ADFS pre-authentication.
    The application is SharePoint but I CAN NOT change the authentication method to claims based auth...it has to be windows integrated. I've double checked all of the SPN's and delegation. I get the 400 returned once the user has been authenticated and is forwarded
    to the app url with the AUTHTOKEN?=blahblahblah query string. I've installed the ADFS certificate on the proxy and set it to be the external SSL certificate for the application.
    PLEASE DONT JUST TELL ME TO POST THIS IN THE GENEVA FORUM FOR ADFS.
    The event log has an exception that looks like this:
    Web Application Proxy received a nonvalid edge token signature.
    Error: Edge Token signature mismatch. edgeTokenHelper.ValidateTokenSignature failed: Verifying token with signature public key failed
    Received token: eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJSUzI1NiIsIng1dCI6IkY4NmgzYlFJbEk0NzZ5Y25HNlBHb1NSNDJ4byJ9.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.E1SqDU1Q2qh00Bt1n1UsBHJrf2kxWh8mN0j03QJTGPQ6vtrkncun017idy2BgB8NzQBVhPQAhfQb3F_lRAAWnpHjwaCuTjeL-pi1-ntVax37TQqQxqg0PVND8OpWxd7rTECObp6KnHBSkgHdaC6ntJ4WzE-QV6afUOyKQrIXil9qF_ybX8IOvMorvGllQB4enR3ZD6KMZBZwzLSl0iueKvZC8TqacRL_Kdvhn2AmutqFVw4wbZILhTsQFRSl86tEp-PCSJ_yLHcxTgqmKWVpEVC0Jo00hJe1MH7P1QMoJISdFY3-4tkuUykpgSNSSlEqZ9EwVdN--4aGE3QlqdL1vA

  • Show AppXray dependencies does not work for all projects

    I have three projects. One of them will display the appxray dependncies and the other two will not. When I select show dependencies, nothing happens. There is no logging inside the workshop m7.log.0 but the .log has the following. How do I get this to work?
    Config details follow logging.
