JSON from HTML embed Javascript to AS

Hi,
I know how to get JSON working if loading from external file
by using LoadVars.
But i don't know how to get JSON from the HTML embed
Javascript and get to work in flash?
I have tried different ways and search at google about
related cases but nothing found yet.
Can somebody help me?
that's the code that i have used:

Thanks for the suggestion.
Well, as near as I can tell the "do javascript" will in no way, shape or form pass info back out to Applescript from Bridge, and I need to grab the long user name from system info there.
To be honest, I was just trying to do a nice elegant dialog box with Bridge because Illustrator CS2 didn't know Script UI and I thought since everyone has CS3 Bridge on their machines already... But I've settled for 3 Applescript dialogs instead, so the fight is over.
1.5 days tinkering with JS. 1.5 hours recoding in AS. Whee...

  • Passing parameters to Flash from HTML or JavaScript

    Hi. How do I pass paramaters to a Flash movie without using
    the "../name.swf?param=value" syntax. I have a Flash menu that
    jumps to a certain keyframe depending on the value specified inline
    with the .swf address, which corresponds to the page being viewed.
    The only problem is that, when another page is loaded, the menu
    flickers and reloads because it's not cached: the browser thinks
    it's another file when in fact it's just a different address
    telling it where to go in the movie to update the menu for the
    current page.
    Any ideas how to do this with either HTML or JavaScript? Help
    and suggestions are truly appreciated!

    The other method for doing this is using the Flashvars param.
    You can read about it in the LiveDocs here:
    http://livedocs.macromedia.com/flash/8/main/00001206.html
    Don't know if it will solve your problem, but it is the other
    of the two main ways of passing in variables.
    Good luck!

  • Loading HTML with javascript from SDCard

    Hi - my first post so please be kind
    My handset is a BES connected 8100 running v4.2.1.66.
    I've only recently discovered how to load files from the local media card using the file:///SDCard/example.html semantics, but I'm very frustrated I cannot seem to load scripts embedded in these files, that will load and run normally when the file is retrieved using http.
    Is there some magic extension I need to give my files to enable processing of scripts from local files?  I've tried the obvious file extensions without luck (htm, html, wml, jsp, asp).
    It seems to me that for local files the handset is setting the MIME type from the extension alone, given the error you get when you load a file with an unknown extension - "The returned page had no content type, and therefore cannot be processed."
    Can anybody help me shed any light on this behavior and how to get around my lack of javascript on locally loaded files?
    Feel free to slap me if this is a know bug in the software I'm running, or has been answered 50 times.
    Many thanks; Andrew.

    Under which folder we can put the html and javascript files. I have installed balackberry sdk4.6(i.e;
    Research In Motion\BlackBerry JDE 4.6.1).
    Objective:To open and see a local html file  in blackberry browser.

  • Safari is sandboxed to not reveal filepath from html file select to Javascript ?

    I know safari is sandboxed not to reveal filepath from html file select control to Javascript via the Value attribute , but i am unable to find any documentation regarding how this is done and since when this is present .. Can somebody please guide me with this ..?

    Since Safari is able to save as HTML file a page if it is opened online (from web), making "Save as...", and it is unable to make so if the webarchive file is on the hard disk...I tried to upload on a web server some .webarchive files.
    Then I went online in the web page with the list of all the uploaded .webarchive files... (ex.: http://....filename1.webarchive, etc...)...
    My goal was to open ONLINE (not on hard disk) the files and then make "save as...",... but... SURPRISE!!! Safari is UNABLE to open a webarchive file from the web, it asks me where to save the file... it can only save it, it writes that it is an "application"...
    I think this happens because .webarchive is not a real web page but a "package"... but my displeasure is this:
    Once opened an hard disk's webarchive file, its content is loaded in ram and it appears like a normal web page (html + images + etc...)... so, in this moment, Safari should be able to save it "as...." HTML file too.... discarding images and other objects....
    Any advice?
    Thank you!!!

  • Is this HTML? Javascript? Or a Dreamweaver function?

    I am trying to learn javascript and I don't really know all commands in HTML, so does the following utilize any js or is it straight html?
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
        <title>A Simple Rollover</title>
    </head>
    <body bgcolor="#FFFFFF">
        <a href="next.html"
          onmouseover="document.arrow.src='images/arrow_on.gif'"
          onmouseout="document.arrow.src='images/arrow_off.gif'">
        <img src="images/arrow_off.gif" width="147" height="82" border="0" name="arrow" alt="arrow" /></a>
    </body>
    </html>
    It's from the quickstart Javascript book and cites it as the first example of how to do a (poorly done) rollover.
    I understand fully it's not the way to do a smart rollover, but as the first building block in the chapter, Id like to know more about it.
    I don't recognize 'document.arrow.src' as HTML. The book also says, be sure to put (name="arrow") or js won't recognize what it is
    supposed to change... which is confusing since this script here works without a javascript code anywhere.
    So does it use a little javascript, if so, what? If not, and it's all HTML, then why name="arrow"? Is it complex HTML? Is it HTML but a building block of js?

    So the code I listed is Javascript-embedded?
    It's a Javascript event handler.
    Is...
    onmouseover= "document.arrow.src='images/arrow-on.gif'"
    ...all Javascript? Or just the "document.arrow.src"?
    All of it.
    Onmouseover is a Javascript event handler.
    It's a self-contained Javascript snippet which tells a Javascript-enabled browser to "listen" inside the <a> tag for the presence of a cursor. Once the cursor hovers there the document.arrow.src behaviour is fired. That's all there is to it.
    (im still cloudy on how an HTML doc can activate JS, but since I don't seem to be getting that answered, I guess I have to move on)
    I'm not clear on which bit you're unclear on :-)
    A Javascript event handler simply sits inside a HTML tag waiting for certain conditions to occur: onmouseover, onmouseout etc.
    (I know you can embed CSS, but you have to typically call it in the head, right? And then go inline once you've done that. Right?)
    You seem to be struggling with the distinction between embedded and inline.
    An embedded CSS stylesheet is a collection of one or more CSS rules in the <head>. They're activated with the presence of "class=" and/or "id=" attributes in HTML tags.
    Inline CSS starts and stops inside the HTML tag; as do Javascript event handlers.
    e.g. <p style="background: blue; color: white;">A new background and font color with inline CSS</p>

  • Best way to pass vars from html into flash?

    I've read a variety of pages that describe how to pass a variable into a flash movie (AS3, player = v9) from the html in which it is embedded.  This page describes AS3 but neglects to mention what to do with the object and embed tags in the noscript section. Furthermore, I'm not sure the javascript I see generated in my page looks like the example there (the js in my page doesn't check AC_FL_RunContenta against zero).  This page is quite long and appears to deal mostly with AS1 and AS2 approaches which I have used before and neglects entirely the newish javascript approach which appears to be used to embed flash these days (i.e., the javascript function AC_FL_RunContent).
    I was wondering if someone could spell out the proper way to pass in a variable from HTML so that flash can see it in such a way that works even if javascript is disabled, in all browsers, etc., etc.
    I've attached the HTML generated by the Flash IDE to this topic.  Any help would be much appreciated.

    You'll have to search for that concise and thorough list of steps or figure it out using the information you now have, which is sufficient to get it done.  It's not that hard--add the FlashVars in the embedding code in the three places and use the various examples you have links to to add the code in the Flash file to access and use the FlashVars.
    Your Flash will be embedded in a web page depending on the visitors settings... if they allow javascript then the javascript portion will be used.  If they don't, then either the object or embed sections will be used depending on their browser.
    As far as javascript changes go, don't sweat 'em until you have a problem... use whatever code your Flash-created html page creates to embed the file in the page.

  • Purechat Widget Code HTML embed not Working...

    Hi handy helper people,
    I currently have a client site that's live that has requested adding an HTML embed from Purechat.com for their chat widget. After inserting the HTML it will not recognize and get a "unable to generating thumbnail" text.
    Anyone know a fix for this? Your knowledge is greatly appreciated!!

    Hi Vivek,
    Thank you for your reply and help. Yes, that's been tested, it isn't viewable in browser or when published live.
    Site: www.genaltapower.com
    Purechat code embed:
    <script type='text/javascript'>(function () { var done = false; var script = document.createElement('script'); script.async = true; script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'https://widget.purechat.com/VisitorWidget/WidgetScript'; document.getElementsByTagName('HEAD').item(0).appendChild(script); script.onreadystatechange = script.onload = function (e) { if (!done && (!this.readyState || this.readyState == 'loaded' || this.readyState == 'complete')) { var w = new PCWidget({ c: '2a6ac48a-ecad-41ab-8ebc-92a2a2fe063e', f: true }); done = true; } }; })();</script>

  • Send data from html to flash action script

    Hi,
    I would like my flash to act differently depending on what
    html page it is on. Can I send information from html code to action
    script?

    Hi,
    Yes you can, by using FLASHVARS. Refer the attached code for
    example. Also you can use Javascript setVariable method of Flash
    object to set values in between i.e. after the page has loaded, as
    in case of FLASHVARS these are sent to flash just at the begining
    i.e. once SWF loads. In the attached exmple i've sent 2 variables
    to Flash one is 'username' and other is 'userId', thse will be
    fetched inside flash movie as _root.username and _root.userId.
    Note: I've added flashvars as PARAM and also as an attribute
    for EMBED tag (used by Mozilla, NS etc)
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Sumeet

  • How to get real value from selectOneChoice with javascript?

    Hi,
    How to get real value from selectOneChoice with javascript? The event.getNewValue() only gets me the index of the selected item, not the value/title.
    JSF page:
    <af:resource type="javascript">
    function parseAddress(event)
    alert("new value: " + event.getNewValue());
    </af:resource>
    <af:selectOneChoice label="Location:" value="" id="soc4">
    <af:clientListener type="valueChange" method="parseAddress" />
    <f:selectItems value="#{Person.locations}" id="si7"/>
    </af:selectOneChoice>
    HTML :
    <option title="225 Broadway, New York, NY-10007" selected="" value="0">225 Broadway (Central Office)</option>
    <option title="90 Mark St., New York, NY-10007" value="1">90 Mark St. (Central Office)</option>
    Thanks a lot.

    Something I was missing ,
    You need to add valuePassThru="true" in your <af:selectOneChoice component. I have personally tested it and got the actual value in alert box. I hope this time you got the real solution. You can also test the following code by your end.
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>

    var selectOneChoice = evt.getSource();
    var logLevel = selectOneChoice.getSubmittedValue();
    // var logLevelObject = AdfLogger.NONE;
    alert("new value is : " + logLevel);
    //alert(evt.getSelection);
    //alert(logLevelObject);

  • Read values from html response

    Hi,
    I am trying to make a call to an API using UTL_HTTP POST method over SSL and read the response html page and extract the values from the reponse.
    I am able to call and get a response back in html format. I have stored the html response in a clob variable.

    Can anyone help me with the code to parse this html response and extract the values.

    Here is working example for your HTML using xpath to extract values from html
    You can store your html response in clob variable and then extract the value with xpath
    declare
       l_clob clob;
       l_value varchar2(100);
       l_xml xmltype;
      begin
         l_clob :='<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
      <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
      <head>
      <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
      <title>Return With Payment Token</title>
      <script src="js/jquery-1.6.4.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
      <script type="text/javascript"><!--
       picSpinner= new Image(40,40);
       picSpinner.src="images/loading040.gif";
       bodyOnLoad = function() {

  • Problem while calling java function from html

    when i tried to call a java function from html i'm getting an error
    object don't support this property.
    what could be the reason.
    This is my html.
    I got this from this forum only.
    My applet is accessing the system property "user.home".
    I ran it in IE

    I tried this example using the repy given to an earlier post.
    But its not working with me.
    What i did in addition was adding plugin.jar to classpath to import netscape.javascript.*;
    Let me add some more details

    How can I pass data successfully from this form to
    JSP?jsp's are not meant to read such amounts of data. this (= uploading) is a typical task for a specialized servlet. there you have full control over input and output. if you need to, you can still forward to a jsp after processing in the servlet.
    How can I pass data from JavaScript to JSP???? i'm not sure what exactly you mean. normally you put it into an url and submit it.

  • How will my .json and .html backed up bookmarks import?

    Firefox 3.6.28
    OS 10.4.11
    Ibook G4
    Hi,
    I back up regularly both as .json and as .html. With the .json back up, I remove the date each time I back up so there's an over-write and there's only one .json back up file in my Backup Folder.
    I've never had to import bookmarks back into Firefox, but I've had a crash that's wiped out my Firefox bookmarks in the Firefox program where I kept the bookmarks in a very carefully indexed system of categories and menus that dropped down from the toolbar.
    When I import .json or .html back into Firefox, will my menubars re-set to the way I had them? I remember from a long time ago using Safari, I restored backed up favorites, and what I got was a long list of titled links which wasn't anything like the way I'd set the favorites up in the first place. I hope I don't get the restoration like that this time with Firefox. In addition, when I press 'Import' from the file menu, I'm only given the option of importing from Safari. That's not what I want to do. I have "Backups" in a designated folder in my Documents in the Finder and that's where I need to pull them from.
    There's something about "Profile" regarding Firefox that I've not known about that may have been something I needed to do in relation to Bookmarks.
    I would appreciate any help you could provide to help me my bookmarks back in place.
    Thanks,
    Rafael
    PS Regarding "Troubleshooting Information".
    I had to do it manually because the function doesn't support my veersion of Firefox.
    "# A new window will open. Click on a button called Copy text to clipboard."
    Did That
    "# Paste the info in the text box below."
    Did That
    * Click on the empty box above this text.
    I don't see an "empty box above this text." The box above isn't empty. It contains my question.
    So the following don't make sense because I already Pasted below.
    * Look at the top of your screen, and click the menu item called Edit.
    * A small box will open. Click on the item called Paste. Alternatively, type Ctrl+V or Command+V.
    * Some text will appear in the empty box.

    Create a desktop shortcut with -P "profile" appended to the target to launch Firefox with each profile.<br />
    Then you can set in the profile manager which profile to use by default if you click a link in an external program.

    Use the -no-remote command line switch to open another Firefox instance with its own profile and to run different Firefox instances simultaneously, but do not use -no-remote with the default browser and the default profile.

  • Pass data to JSP from HTML?

    I can pass the data in a HTML form without problem if the form is in the same jsp file. I have no problem to pass data from one jsp file to another one. But when the jsp file has to take the data passed from calling HTML file and has to receive the data from the same jsp file, then the data from other HTML file will be null the first time runing the code, then second time will be passed right. If I shut down computer run the code again, same problem until the second time. Please tell me why if any of you know!

    yes. The first part is HTML file which use the form to pass v_progname, the second part is a jsp file, it suppose to get the data in v_prgname, but the first time to run this code always get null, then the second time get the right data?
