Jsp and render as html a form field.

I have a jsp with a form the fields of which are populated by some values.
One field contains html code so the value is *<table><tr><td>...</td></tr></table>*.
What I would like is that instead of having the text <table><tr><td>...</td></tr></table>
to have the table rendered as html. Is that feasible?
I use the <bean:write name="form" property="text"/> to have this value..
Thank you...
Juanita

I found another solution so I will share it in case someone is facing the same problem. Actually I am using the <bean:write/> tag to get the form value.
If in this tag I add filter="false" then if this value is an html text this text will be rendered as html.

  • Single and double quotes entered in form field cause corruption?

    I am creating a database change request system using in APEX 2.2 and the main form has a description field (clob) and a API_description field (varchar2(4000)) that are text area fields on the page. The form seems to have trouble when the string data entered into the text area page items on the form contain single and double quotes.
    <br><br>
    I have pasted my test data below in this problem description(this is not true sql but it gets the point accross). I use the wizard created insert process to get the data into the db from the text fields in the wizard generated form, then use the wizard created fetch process to get the data back out and rendered on the same form. When I use the test data below, sometimes a few characters dissappear from my input data on the way out, sometime form fields go away, and their html is interspersed with the previous form field's data on the page. And I get different results on different tests with the same data.
    <br><br>
    Do I have to do something special for a vanilla htmldb text page item on a form to be able to receive single and double quotes in the string input in order to avoid that string data confusing the processing on the way in to the Database or on the way out for rendering?

    Do I have to escape the characters? How do I do this?

  • Remove spaces and special characters from a form field

    Hi,
    I am tragically new to all of this, but am trying to create a form in Adobe Acrobat 9.  I am trying to use a Custom Format script to take inputs in a form field and automatically remove spaces and special characters (hyphens specifically).  For example, if a user inputs "RAN-99 06" I would like it to change to "RAN9906."  I found this script that will not let users input special characters
    if (!event.willCommit) {
        event.change = event.change.replace(/[\$#~%\*\*\^\-\(\)\+=\[\]\{\};\"\<\>\?\|\\\!]/g, "");
    And that's okay, but I can't figure out how to disallow spaces.  Also, the perference would be for a script to allow users to input the data as they like, but to clean it up after they leave the text field.
    Thanks in advance!

    From the description, I assume that the script is currently in the Keystroke event. In fact, that would be a most logical way to have it; simply ignore anything unwanted when entered.
    If you want to allow the user to enter anything, but "clean it up" when done, you would place your code in the Validate event. You will have to adjust your Regular Expression so that it works globally, but that's the whole difference. This will change the value.
    Note that you can also enter the code into the Format event. However, that would only change the visual representation of the value, but internally, the value would remain as entered.
    Hope this can help.
    Max Wyss.

  • Setting save directory and filename based on fillable form fields.

    Hello,
    I'm new to .pdf development in Acrobat. I'm trying to create a form which allows users to fill in data, then save a copy of the form to a directory and file name which will be based upon several of the fields in the document. Is this method of saving possible? I've tried a script but can't seem to make the process work.
    Thanks for the help!

    It's possible, but the code that does the actual save (using the doc.saveAs JavaScript method) needs to be in a folder-level JavaScript file and further in a trusted function and app.beginPriv/app.endPriv block:
    http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-save-pdf-acrobat-javascript
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/11/Acrobat11_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.89.173.html
    or in a certified document that the user chooses to trust to execute privileged code. If you've done either of these, can you post the code you're using?

  • Calling a JSP Report From HTML parameter form

    Hi,
    I m trying to run a JSP Report from a HTML parameter Form. The JSP reports requires a parameter named userid in the URL with a valid value for database connection.
    eg. URL "http://win2kdb.oracle9iis.com:7778/repdemo/examples/Tools/fm_crdinf.jsp?userid=sysapps/system@trt1". We have created a variable on the server named "parmformjsp" with a value "sysapps/system@trt1". Now i use this variable in the URL as follows, eg. "http://win2kdb.oracle9iis.com:7778/repdemo/examples/Tools/fm_crdinf.jsp?parmformjsp".
    When i use this URL to call another JSP report from a JSP report it works fine, but the same does not work when calling a JSP report from a HTML form.
    the code for HTML parameter form calling a report is as follows,
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="en-us">
    <meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage 5.0">
    <meta name="ProgId" content="FrontPage.Editor.Document">
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
    <title>Parameter Form</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <p>Parameter Form</p>
    <form name="form1" method="GET"
    action="http://win2kdb.oracle9iis.com:7778/repdemo/examples/Tools/fm_custrns.jsp?parmformjsp">
    <p>From Date<input type="text" name="p_fmdate" size="20"></p>
    <p>To Date<input type="text" name="p_todate" size="20"></p>
    <p> </p>
    <p><input type="submit" ><input type="reset" value="Reset" name="B2"></p>
    </form>
    <p> </p>
    </body>
    </html>
    If i create an input parameter named "userid" with a valid database connection value, remove the ?parmformjsp part from the action URL then it works fine. How can i call the JSP report using the parmformjsp variable name instead of using the "userid" clause in the URL.Can anyone suggest any workaround....
    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Unmesh

    do it like this...
    DECLARE
    pl_id ParamList := Get_Parameter_List('tmpdata');
    BEGIN
    IF NOT Id_Null(pl_id) THEN
      Destroy_Parameter_List( pl_id );
    END IF;
    pl_id := Create_Parameter_List('tmpdata');
    Add_Parameter(pl_id, 'ROUTE_CARD_CONTROL', TEXT_PARAMETER, :ROUTE_CARD.ROUTE_CARD_CONTROL);
    Add_Parameter(pl_id, 'PARAMFORM', TEXT_PARAMETER, 'NO');
    Run_Product(REPORTS, 'D:\STL_FINAL\CHPREPORTS_FINAL\ROUTE_CARD.REP', SYNCHRONOUS, RUNTIME, FILESYSTEM, pl_id, NULL);
    END; what exactly happens when you call the report. if its showing the blank page... may be you are not passing the right parameter name. cross-check that your parameter name in the report is 'ROUTE_CARD_CONTROL'.

  • Invisible form fields and conten6

    I created a pdf form within Livecycle however on some occasions when a user fills in the form and emails it over the form fields and content are invisible but when you click on them they become visible. Once you click out of the field they become invisible again.
    Does anyone know why this is?
    Thank you

    Hi,
    I am fairly sure that your user(s) has a Mac and has used Apples PDF viewer (called Preview) to open and complete your form.
    This will not work!!
    Tell them to download the free Adobe Reader for Mac and to use that instead.
    A search of the forums for "Preview" and "MAc" will bring up more info.
    Good luck,
    Niall

  • JSP and JAXB

    DB Structure
    Parent Table - Incident --> Child Table - IncidentCharges --> Child Table of IncidentCharges --> IncidentChargeWeapons
    Container
    Oracle Containers for JAVA(OC4J)
    We have a schema (Incident.xsd) which comprises of our entire database structure. We unmarshalled the schema using JAXB to Java classes and interfaces .
    It created 2 .java classes and 2 .java interfaces for each high level tag . for eg for our Incident tag it created a Incident interface and a IncidentType Interface
    and also it created 2 classes IncidentImpl and IncidentTypeImpl . The IncidentTypeImpl has all the get and set properties we require eg. getIncidentType,
    setIncidentType,getIncidentNumber,setIncidentNumber,getOccuranceDate,setOccuranceDate etc.
    Our objective is to create a JSP page which has form fields to enter data which use these JAXB generated classes get and set properties. In other words
    we want to bind the JSP form fields to these JAXB generated classes. And once these JAXB objects are populated we want to marshal it and create a XML file with the data from those JAXB . Our database would then consume the generated XML. We tried creating a simple incident form with just 3 fields IncidentType,Occurance date and Incident Number and tried to bind these fields with the properties from IncidentTypeImpl classes using the <jsp:usebean> tag . When we deployed it to our container and tried to load the Incident.jsp page , it would not load up . Only when we cleared all the bindings it loaded up .
    Then we tried another workaround (just to get it working. Not a preferred approach) . We created another simple JAVA bean(not JAXB generated beans) which has set and get properties for the form fields and bound the form fields to it.
    On submitting the JSP page we called a servlet which takes data from our created bean and transfers it to the JAXB generated IncidentTypeImpl bean. When we deployed this the jsp page loads up and also our bean is filled with data . But the servlet bombs with this error below.

    We have 2 questions .
    1. Can a JSP page be bound directly to this JAXB generated bean in pretty much the same way as we bind it to our own bean ? (We would like to do this so that we dont have to create duplicate classes which mirror the JAXB generated classes.)
    2. Is there something special we have to do to deploy this application to recognize the JAXB classes. Do we have to deploy some jar file for it to recognize those classes ?

    I've used oracle's xdk to generate both the interfaces and the implementation classes. Next i've implemented a service class with some methods to return java classes as generated by oracle's jaxb. The return types of these service methods are interfaces, not the implementation classes.
    I can generate an adf data control for this service class, but the data control palette doesn't show the attributes for the jaxb generated classes (i have changed the bean class property in the data control description xml file).
    It's not possible to ignore the interfaces and just use the implementation classes, as the implementation classes specify their return types in interfaces. I don't want to rewrite all the generated code.

  • How to open a page from a Form and pass parameters to the form on that page

    I found a similar example on this forum, but it did not work for me:
    declare
    l_names owa.vc_arr;
    l_values owa.vc_arr;
    i number;
    begin
    PORTAL.wwpro_api_parameters.retrieve(l_names, l_values);
    FOR i in 1..l_names.count
    LOOP
    htp.p(l_names(i) || ' ' || l_values(i));
    END LOOP;
    end;
    By using this method i get the parameters for the Form, like the session ID, but not the parameters for the Page that the form is displayed in.
    Another method I tried:
    To open a Form from a Form and pass parameters works fine like this:
    --In the After processing page PL/SQL event.
    declare
    v_id number;
    blk varchar2(10):='DEFAULT';
    Begin
    v_id:=p_session.get_value_as_number (p_block_name=&gt;blk,p_attribute_name=&gt;'A_ID');
    if v_id &gt; 0 then
    htp.formOpen('PORTAL.wwa_app_module.link?p_arg_names=_moduleid&p_arg_values=2649500412&p_arg_names=_show_header&p_arg_values=YES&p_arg_names=ID&p_arg_values='||to_char(v_id),'post');
    htp.formSubmit(NULL,'Upload Files');
    htp.formClose;
    end if;
    End;
    But I want to open a Page containing the Form instead of just opening the Form. Is this possible to open a Page and pass paramters to the page, and then let the form inside the Page access the passed paramters. The reason for this is that a Form cannot be based on a page template, or can it? When opening the form i want to keep the left menu, which I can if it is a page based on my template with the left menu.
    Best regards
    Halvor

    Hi,
    You can do this by calling the url of the page with the form. You can then use p_arg_names and p_arg_values to pass parameters. In the called form you can get the value from p_arg_names and p_arg_values and assign it to the form field.
    You can call this code in the success procedure of the calling form.
    declare
    v_id number;
    blk varchar2(10):='DEFAULT';
    v_url varchar2(2000);
    Begin
    v_id:=p_session.get_value_as_number (p_block_name=>blk,p_attribute_name=>'A_ID');
    v_url := <page_url>;
    if v_id > 0 then
    call(v_url||'&p_arg_names=id&p_arg_values='||v_id);
    end if;
    End;
    In the called form in "Before displaying form" plsql section write this code.
    for i in 1..p_arg_names.count loop
    if p_arg_names(i) = 'id' then
    p_session.set_value(
    p_block_name => blk,
    p_attribute_name => 'A_ID',
    p_value => p_arg_values(i)
    end if;
    end loop;
    This code picks up the value from p_arg_values and assigns it to the form field.
    Hope that helps.
    Thanks,
    Sharmila

  • Editing Form Fields inside Acrobat? (after using LiveCycle Designer)

    Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended ==  Acrobat
    LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2 == LiveCycle Designer
    =========================================
    Say I downloaded a new PDF from the interwebs.
    I want to add some forms fields so I go to Forms ==> Add or Edit Fields... (inside Acrobat)
    Now Acrobat will detect possible places where to add the form fields. I make changes etc. Then I am  satisfied with my form fields.
    Now say I want to remove a particular object from the PDF, lets take an image as an example.
    So I fire up  LiveCycle Designer; File ==> New ==> Import a PDF document ==>  Create an Interactive Form with a Flowable Layout.
    I remove that pesky little object.
    In LiveCycle Designer, I save the file as PDF.
    I open up Acrobat. I realize I need to make some more changes to some of the Form  Fields.
    But now instead of "Add or Edit Fields..." option I get "Edit Form in  Designer..."
    I hate the GUI of LiveCycle Designer --- I had rather edit the form  fields from inside Acrobat, as it is easy and fast to change multiple  form fields in a few clicks.

    Thank you Niall for the above response; Your response gave me an idea which allowed me to remove that line by zooming in to 200%
    You know Acrobat detects Form Fields for you.
    But many times it makes mistakes, for example in the screenshot below it made the boxes that came with the PDF as text fields instead of check boxes.
    The thing is rather than me delete the (form) fields it detected, and start over by making new check boxes, I will not be able to place my new check box in exact locations as Acrobat has done.
    When I imported the fields that Acrobat made into LC (by saving the PDF in Acrobat and then opening it with LC) I get option to change the Object Type from Text Field to Check Box when I right click the object.
    Is there a similar way to change the Object Type from Text Field to Check Box inside Acrobat? Any suggestions?
    ===========
    I would really like to do it inside Acrobat because then if I have to make some minor changes to some field properties, all my hard work which I did by filling the fields gets deleted, as I am forced to use LC. The text I add to the fields don't get deleted when I edit the field properties inside Acrobat. I don't know why LC decides to delete all the text which is filled out in the form fields even though the PDF is saved in Acrobat before being imported into LC?
    Here is the above PDF file with the text boxes:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?lnn32jm5am5
    Again thanks for all your guidance so far.

  • Is there a sensible way to import form fields from an old pdf into a new pdf?

    I'm working with Acrobat X Pro on a Windows PC platform.  I've been working with a file that was originally created in CorelDraw X3, in landscape orientation. That document was then saved as a pdf and set up with many form fields (it's an order form). The document needed to be updated with minor changes made in the Corel file. I resaved as a pdf and now want to transfer the existing form fields from the old document into the newly revised one. I've tried copy/paste, but have to do small sections at a time because the program doesn't let me bring in all of the fields at the same time. I then tried Document > Replace page, which I've seen described in other forum posts; but when I do that, the entire set of fields comes in rotated at 90 degrees counterclockwise. I did read that if the original document was created in a different orientation, that could affect how the fields paste in, but that is not the case here. The original file, and all successive pdf files all have been the same orientation. I'm boggled and think that there has to be an easier way than copying fields, a section at a time, and resizing them all over again.
    This older post is pretty similar to what I am trying to do, but it seems I'm getting a different end result. Any suggestions?
    Create fillable form with changing source document

    I am using Acrobat Pro 10. I have the same problem and finally after numerous different attempts of solving based on all the suggestions, I resolved my problem by Printing to PDF via the print dialog in Word. When I pasted the fields that were previously rotating onto the new "printed" PDf, the fields retained their orientation as desired.
    To clarify, I am using Word 2007, Acrobat Pro 10, the document is landscape, both the original (with fields) PDF and all attempted new PDF's were of the diemnsions 11 x 8.5. The only noticeable difference in the PDF properties for the PDF's were Tagged PDF and Fast Web View. The original PDF (with fields) was No in both cases and all attempts other than the Print to PDF were Yes, meaning that the Print to PDF was No. I am not sure if this made the Print to PDF work or not as I have already spent too much time trying to resolves this issue. Hope this helps.

  • What is the best method of making revisions to a PDF document with editable form fields?

    I created several documents/forms in Microsoft Word in order to use tables for formatting, then turned them into PDFs using Acrobat X Pro.  The auto form field recognition feature in Acrobat doesn't always recognize every field in the document, so I had to manually create some of them and alter their properties for correct font size, scroll long text, etc.  I now need to revise / add more information to the documents.  The only thing I know to do is to make these revisions to the original Word document, save as PDF, and redo all editable form fields again.  Is there an easier way to edit these documents while keeping the current editable fields and their properties?  Thanks.

    Thank you!  That seems to work fine and keeps my old editable form fields.

  • Adobe Reader 9.4  won't allow saving-copying-printing of data entered into form fields.

    Hello, all.  I own a fully automated Continuing Education website with a national customer base.  The release of Adobe Reader 9.4 has brought a major problem for us which we haven't been able to overcome, and it's a critical issue which will destroy our business if the problem continues.
    The problem:  Our professionally licensed website users earn online, instantly downloadable Continuing Education certificates in PDF file format, which are auto-generated by our software program when the user has successfully completed a course and its quiz.
    Each certificate is a template created by Adobe Acrobat Pro 6 which contains the boilerplate course goals, credit hours earned for the course, plus all of our educational approval numbers needed to conduct business in each state.  THE PROBLEM HERE is that these generated certificates ALSO have form fields which are auto-completed by our system when the user successfully completes his or her course - i.e., the user's name, his license number, and the date and hour and minute of completion.  Until some of our customers began to use Adobe Reader 9.4 on their PC this past week, the certificate generation process has performed flawlessly - for over 3 years now, for over a thousand customers - the only exception being the  occasional MAC user who needs to download the correct version of Adobe Reader, and to use the correct browser.
    Beginning last week, site users who have downloaded 9.4 can no longer SAVE their Continuing Education certificates to their computer with their name, license and date and time of completion showing on the certificate.   And they can't even print the certificate correctly - their name, license, and date of completion appear as blank lines.  They can't download or email the certificate with the critical form field data showing on the document. This is a devastating situation for our business and for the users - who certainly won't return, and are demanding refunds.
    In fact, I (who installed 9.4 last week) discovered that I can't even download and save an intact copy of a customer's certificate from my own website, OR copy and paste information from a client's generated certificate in order to manually create a certificate for him or her.  The on-screen message tells me that I am not allowed to do this with this document .... despite the fact that I was the creator of the document. Needless to say, when I un-installed 9.4, I had none of these problems.
    Customers wouldn't have problems either if they uninstalled 9.4 - but you can't tell customers who call in to complain, to uninstall their Adobe Reader program and find something else.  They also have to use Adobe Reader to view over half of the courses we offer, and they need to be able to work with them effectively with no problems.
    In the past, because of occasional Adobe Reader problems of a different sort, we could tell customers to use Foxit or Nitro PDF if they had Adobe issues.  But that was back in the day when there was no competition in running an online CE website.  Now there is plenty of competition, and customers will just go elsewhere before they will try to reconfigure their computer just to stay with our site.
    I will bet that hundreds (thousands?) of other online businesses who work with system-generated form fields in PDF documents have been similarly affected.
    Is there a solution here?  Surely this was an UNINTENDED result of  Adobe's upgrade to 9.4.   Is there something that we can do at our end to eliminate these issues?  There are NO security protections or limitations imposed on these certificate documents.  And we CANNOT eliminate the form fields that are filled internally when the customer passes t the course.  Date and time of completion and all the rest are required by all of the States which license us.  Many thanks!

    That was it!
    Thanks

  • How do I add a tax form field to a tax form magnetic tape structure?

    I'm in version ECC 6.0:
    I copied SAP's tax form HR_F_1099R_TAPE and created ZHR_F_1099R_TAPE, bringing in all the entries.
    The only change to ZHR_F_1099R_TAPE is to add tax form fields T102 (STATE withholding) to position 139 and T103 (STATE tax) to position 151.  However, when I run PU19 the values are blank. All other fields are populated as expected.
    If I stick in T002 (FED tax) and T004 (FED withholding) into positions 151 and 139  I have no issues, but I need state not federal.
    What step am I missing to get the T102 and T103 to show in my magnetic tape structure output?
    The PDF form works brings in P103 and P102 instead of T103 and T102, but the P's don't work either for the mag media.
    Please help.

    Good Morning Arti,
    Tax Form Field T102 pulls from Tax Form Group 0001, and the same for Tax Form Field T103.
    On the magnetic tape structure, my entry is as follows:
    03     Payee "B" Record     139     Payment Amount 8     T102
    03     Payee "B" Record     151     Payment Amount 9     T103
    I'm using the take from field option.
    Thanks,
    Kerri

  • Detecting Form Fields

    Here at work, we use AutoCAD to draw up specs on our products. From there we convert to .PDF where we fill in the text fields as needed for our products.
    Rather than manually placing each text field on the PDF, how do I have the program locate where the fields should go? I think this is called, Detecting Form Fields.
    I have my PDF I just created from AutoCAD with no text fields in it yet.
    I go to Forms > Add or Edit Fields, then I get a pop up saying, "Currently no form fields in this PDF. Do you want Acrobat to detect fields for you?"
    I click YES and it says, "No new form field annotations were detected"
    How do I get this to find the fields so I dont have to manually insert every text field??
    I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.5
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Here are some guidelines: http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/designing-forms-auto-field-detection-adobe-acrobat
    But if you can't change the source document design so that the Form Wizard is able to divine where fields should go, there's not a lot you can do.
