JSP are not compiling

          HI,
I am trying to deploy my jsp's as Web Appplication (in a directory & not as a war
file)on Weblogic 5.1 on Solaris 8. Weblogic throws following exception when I try
          to invoke the jsp:
          Failed to parse compiler output:

idea what the problem is ?
          Any clues..
          Thanks a lot

Hi, Roger,
Could you please add the %JAVA_HOME%\bin into your "System Variables" (not
the "User Variables") and reboot your Windows 2000 box. This way, NT
services should be able to pick up JDK executables.
          Cheers,

  • Some jsps will not compile FC5+Tomcat

    Hello,
I cannot compile SOME jsp pages for some reason.
    I have something like this:
    http://www.mydomain.net:8080/WEB/index.jsp - this comiles
http://www.mydomain.net:8080/WEB/BLAH/BLAH/index.jsp - will not compile where BLAH is a bunch of different folders.
I have it all working on Win XP. Now I am trying to make it work on FC5.
I took the page that can compile and moved it to BLAH/BLAH folder and it does not compile now!
OS: Fedora Core 5 (if it matters)
What is going on? Any ideas?

    what i need to do??
    thanks in advance

    Hi
    Thanks for your reply,
I am using CQ 5.5 and was installed service pack 2.
    1. We make package from SVN or through maven build to the CQ dev server.
    2. JSP changes perfect but /var/classes java files contains old code(i.e new JSP file complitation is not happening )
    3. Only when we restart server, /var/classes reflecting with new code other /var/classes have old code only.
What is best procedure to re-compile JSP with out Restart server.

  • Simple JSP will not compile

I created a new project - No template - All Technologies, and can not get a JSP shell to compile. It's generating Error: java.lang.NullPointerException. I then added the JSP Runtime, Servlet Runtime, J2EE and Oracle 9iAS and I'm still getting the message. What is the key to make this work?
It was working earlier today on another project until I removed the model from the application workspace. I tried a new project, but am getting the same results. I can compile a JSP on an old project, but I don't know what the difference is.

I added a simple output statement. The error is the same.

That configuration should recompile them whenever they are modified.
It will NOT reload them if d:/weblogic/myserver/classfiles is also in your WEBLOGIC_CLASSPATH.

  • WebLogic 6.0 - Dynamically created JSPs are not recognized

I have a web application that creates JSP files dynamically per a user's request.
In WebLogic 6.1, the application server recognizes these files no problem. However
in WebLogic 6.0, I get a 404 File Not Found error when I try to load these pages

Actual this problem goes for all new files: *.html, *.gif, *.jpg, etc... WebLogic

              configure this? Thanks.

Eventually I managed to define a shared library of JSF 2.0 in Websphere 7.0.0.0 and make it loaded when my application starts. But I was that the JSF code has not been compiled to html so that it can be viewed on a browser. This the code on my page

What can I do to shake this issue off. Unfortunately in our organization we have to use RAD 8 and WAS 7.0.0.0. If we used netbeans with Glassfish, we don't face these problems.

If there is no way to map a schema uri to a physical resource in netbeans, then I'm not sure what can be done.
We won't be posing the schema to the website until later in the spec development cycle.

  • Forms are not compiled in oracle 10g database

    Dear Experts
    I have upgraded my database from oracle 9i r2 32bit windows to 10g r2 64bit linux 5.
Now is it possible to run application on 10g developed in developer 6?
If possible then how? Please help me out.

    Hi,
Did you try to clear the Jinitiator Cache.
some times you have to accept the digital security and it hides behind. So please minimize all the windows and see if there is any other message.
Before opening form, If you open java console and press 5, it will show you the exact error message.

  • Included JSPs not compiling

I have some JSP code which does not compile in JDeveloper but works fine when deployed in a web server (Websphere).
There is a page called main.jsp with code like:
    Map clientDataList = (Map) request.getAttribute("clientDataList");
    <%@ include file="standard1Page.jsp" %>
clientDataList is set in a servlet which forwards to main.jsp. On standard1Page.jsp I want to access the clientDataList object:
    <%= clientDataList.get("sitealignment") %>
But standard1Page.jsp does not compile in JDeveloper because clientDataList is not defined on that page:
Error(2,75): variable clientDataList not found in class _standard1Page
Is this a fundamental problem with JDeveloper not following through the "includes" when doing the project compile, or is there something I can set to make this stuff compile. If not I'm going to have to edit my JSPs in a text editor so I can compile my project.

Francis The problem is that "standard1page.jsp" is not a JSP page, it is just a text fragment to be included in a real JSP page. As it's just a fragment, it won't compile correctly as a JSP page. If you add it to your project as ".jsp", JDeveloper tries to compile it.
A common convention for JSP included fragments is to name them with a".jspf" suffix, so it's relatively clear what they are, and to make the IDE not compile them as JSP pages.

  • BUG: OC4J recompiled JSPs can not be debugged in JDev 10.1.3.2

We are having problems on JSP which are modified while running on OC4J within JDev 10.1.3.2. The modified JSP are not correctly recompiled.
A similar thread discussing this problem is here:
Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.3.1's Internal OC4J JSP Recompile
We consider this to be a problem that may be related more to OC4J than to JDev and therefore I am asking for suggestions in this forum.
    To explain what we observe:
In JDev 10.1.3.1 we found that big/complex JSP would not recompile after changes were made while OC4J was running. The compiled JSP files under \.jsps\_web_2d_inf\... changed from myfile.class and myfile.java to myfile.class, myfile.java and (a new file) myfile.jpa.
After installing JDev 10.1.3.2 we now observe that for any JSP that gets changed (also the small/simple ones) the constellation of three files (with the additional .jpa) gets created. Small files are compiled and can be used after changed in real time but code insight and variable inspection and modification needed for debugging no longer work. (Note that they worked on the unchanged file, and would work again if we stop and recompile the whole project).
I could certainly appreciate if someone has found a solution to this problem as migrating back to a JDev version previous to 10.1.3.1 is not wanted.
    Thanks in advance!
    Gonzalo

I have openned a SR with this issue.
Does nobody else has this problem?
    To reproduce it try:
Run any application in JDeveloper which contains a JSP file where a scriptlet declares
    and use some variables.
Run the application and set a breakpoint after some of the variables. Call the JSP from the browser to start its execution and after stopping at the breakpoint inspect the variables content. It works, you can see the variable contents.
Now make a change in the JSP (anything) and call it again from the browser without restarting OC4J.
After stopping at the breakpoint you will see that the variables can no longer be inspected, their content is no longer available.
    Thanks for any suggestions,
    Gonzalo

  • Changes in jsp page not reflecting

    Hi,
I have a requirement where I have to customize the self registration page in OIM, i.e.
when a user enters uid, it should be checked for its availablity, that is if the user id is already present in OIM then we may suggest him a set a user ids from which he can select.
For this, I am planning to have a button "Check UID availability" next to uid text field and then on clicking that button we may proceed with our functionality.
To achieve the very first step, i.e. creating the button, i edited /tiles/tjspSelfRegistrationTiles.jsp and then created and replaced the old webapp.war file with the new one and then run patch_jboss.cmd file which builds the file successfully.
But, the problem I am facing is that any changes made to this jsp are not being reflected.
Any pointers to reflect the changes made in jsp would be helpful.

Well, thats a strange case with JBoss. I never find these JSP's on the deploy directory. The approach which I follow in such cases is as follows:
    1) Take a back-up copy of XellerateFull.ear file from <OIM_HOME>\xellerate directory.
    2) Extract the contents fo this file to any temporary directory. This will contain a war file xlWebApp.war
    3) Extract the content of this file as well.
    4) Now you will be able to see all the JSP folders and struts xml etc.
    5) Update the required JSP.
    6) Bundle the xlWebApp.war file again.
    7) Bundle the XellerateFull.ear file again.
    8) Now since you have a complete ear file. Directly copy this to JBoss deploy directory. Overwrite the existing file:
    <JBossHome>\server\default\deploy\
    9) Restart the server.
Now all the files would be visible in the directory location as mentioned by you.
    Thanks
    Sunny

  • Mxml components not compiled into swc?

Hi, I am using Flash Builder(Flex 4) and i am having issues compiling mxml components into swc.
    My scenario:
I created Flex Library project, added some mxml components and actionsript classes.
I created separate Flex project and added swc file to project's library path.
I can only import actionscript classes from my library.
ActionScript classes are compiled and bundled in the swc as expected, but all mxml components are not compiled into the swc.
Do you have the same issues compiling mxml components?
I am using Flash Builder Version 4.0 (build 253292).

My team occasionally sees issues with missing classes in a similar setup, although I can't confirm that it has been limited to MXML (and no one has been able to reliably reproduce).
I suspect our problem is the "includeAllClasses" property in .flexLibProperties (Project->Properties->Flex Library Build Path->Classes->Include all classes from all source paths)--it seems to not reliably compile in newly added classes.  Our workaround right now is to instead click "Select classes to include in the library" and toggle our source directory every time classes are added, at least until we script our own build tasks.  Looking through Jira I see this is a common issue: https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-23514 (and a few others).
    Hope this helps,

  • After forward, relative paths images are not displayed

              Hi,
I have two web archives (war1.war, war2.war) and a jar with
              common code (jar.jar). war1.war contains jsp1.jsp and
              servlet1.class, jar.jar contains common.class, and war2.war
              contains jsp2.jsp.
The user brings up jsp1.jsp in a browser and clicks a button
which invokes servlet1.class (via post). In turn, servlet1.class
invokes method forwardTo(...) of the common.class which brings
up jsp2.jsp in user's browser. In the forwardTo(...) method I am
using the servletContext for war1.war to get a dispatcher on
              which I then apply forward.
The problem that I am seeing is that the images (.gif) in
jsp2.jsp are not displayed at all. They are defined in the jsp
file using a relative path as img="images/img.gif". It is as if
the web server gets confused and does not know that the images
should be based in the war2 application and is looking for them
              in the war1 application.
I do not want to store the absolute path in the definition of
              the image (i.e., img="war2/images/img.gif").
I am using WLS6.0sp1. What could be wrong?
              Thanks,
              Vladimir

    maybe try this
              instead of
              img="images/img.gif"
              try
              img="<%=request.getContextPath()%>/images/img.gif"
