JSP: attributes for body ?

I never used JSPs all that much and mostly worked with servlets. I just wonder (because it's hard to find anything about it): how would I e.g. add an ununload event handler to a <body> tag? Whatever I do, the JSP generates header and body itself and I can only modify the body content.
How would I get <body onunload="javascript:afunction()"> into my HTML from a JSP? I'm stumped. Currently it works because I add another nested body tag and the browsers accept it nevertheless. But that's no real solution.

Just open the JSP file in a text editor/IDE, add the desired line and save the file?That's what I currently do. It leads to
<html>
<head>
</head>
<body>
  <body onunload="...">
  </body>
</body>Which thankfully works because the browsers seem tolerant enough.
There must be more into the story. Maybe an IDE which is preventing you from doing that. Or a framework which doesn't let you to have the full control over the code. Or so.I suppose the latter, and the portlet stuff getting in my way. The IDE should have nothing to do with that.

  • Jsp tag for blog attribute in a flex asset

    hi Experts,
    I am using FW7.6.1, I have a flex asset with a blob attribute, when I create that flex asset, I can upload an image in that attribute, but I did not find a jsp tag for rendering that attribute which has a image saved, another question is what jsp tag should be used in case of a word file is uploaded in that attribute, that's to say:
    1. for a image, I want to display it in browser.
    2. for a word file, I want to show popup window to ask user if he wants to download or open.
    By using assetset:getattributevalues and render:stream, it's just for string type of attribute, not for blog.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards

    hi all,
    I got the answer from dev guide, seems should use:
    <blobservice:gettablename varname="uTabname"/>
    <blobservice:getidcolumn varname="idColumn"/>
    <blobservice:geturlcolumn varname="uColumn"/>
    and render:satelliteblob
    some complicated then I expected.

  • Jsp 2.0: trouble making checked attribute for radio/checkbox

    Hi, there,
    I planned to use jsp 2.0 and started the new project with jspx file, instead of jsp. My target server is WebSphere 6.0. However, I have trouble to create the CHECKED attribute for radio/checkbox.
    This code:
    <input type="radio" name='xxx' checked="${isTrue?"checked":"false"}"/>
    will not work with mozilla/firefox.
    if I do it this way:
    <input type="radio name='xxx' <%=isTrue?"checked":""%>/>
    This is not compiling in WebSphere, since this jspx file itself is now not well-formed xml.
    Any suggestions? Thanks!
    Ben.

    I made a little improvement, but still have some questions...
    MyForm.jspf:
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" prefix="h" %>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" prefix="f" %>
    <%@ taglib prefix="tmpl" tagdir="/WEB-INF/tags" %>
    <tmpl:date bean="ResidentAttentionForm" property="date" />

    <jsp:scriptlet>
    javax.faces.context.FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getApplication().getVariableResolver().resolveVariable(javax.faces.context.FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(), (String)request.getAttribute("bean"));
    </jsp:scriptlet>
    <c:set var="form" value="${sessionScope[bean]}" scope="session"/>
    <c:set var="property" value="${property}" scope="session"/>
    <f:subview id="time">
    <h:inputText id="date" value="#{form[property]}">
    <f:convertDateTime pattern="dd/MM/yyyy" />
    </h:inputText>
    The problem here:
    1. how can I access from JSF EL to the tag attribute without passing it to the request??? (I've seen the question in the forum, but not the answer...)
    2. Is there a way to initialize a bean with dynamic name (<c: set var="${name}"?
    3. When we will have jsf 1.2 done? ;-) I know they said "with J2EE5", but it also has been said "J2EE5 - summer 2005" and now everyone is talking about 2006 (?). Why can't they make jsr for jsp 2.1 and jsf 1.2 before J2EE5?.

    The config file looks ok to me.
    The Action looks like you aren't taking full advantage of Struts.
    You shouldn't have to call request.getParameter() - you should define an action form which picks up the parameters, and does the validations/conversions for you.
    Maybe try this:
    <html:link action="/editNxtModuls" paramId="modul_id" paramName="nxtmoduls" paramProperty="modul_id" /><bean:write name="nxtmoduls" property="modul_id"/>
    </html:link>Edit: Reads error message
    No input attribute for mapping path /editNxtModuls
    This means that the form validation for this action failed, and it is attempting to return control to the sending page so that you can fix the error.
    Check the forms.NxtModulsForm validate() method to see if validation would pass/fail.
    The fix would be to put an "input" attribute into the action
    <action name="NxtModulsForm"
    path="/editNxtModuls"
    scope="request"
    type="actions.EditNxtModulsAction"
    validate="true"
    input = "list.jsp">
    <forward name="edit" path="/NxtModuls/edit.jsp" />
    </action>

  • Problem using tags as an attribute for other tags.

    Hi there,
    I'd like to know if there is a way to use a tag as an attribute for an other tag.
    Exemple :
    <user:testparent param="<user:param param='1' />" >
    When doing so, the value of param is <user:param param='1'/>, and not the value that should be returned by the <user:param /> tag.
    Is there a way to use the value returned by this tag as a parameter ?
    With text, the correct value returned by the tag is used, so I guess it's possible to do so with custom tags.
    Thanks.

    Okay, here is an example of the process...
    I have this Class that acts as the parent to all the tags that I use:
    package net.thelukes.steven.scriptbits;
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.util.HashSet;
    import java.util.Set;
    //Other Imports ...
    public abstract class ScriptBitsTag extends BodyTagSupport  {
         public int doAfterBody() throws JspException {
              return TagSupport.SKIP_BODY;
         public int doEndTag() throws JspException {
              return TagSupport.EVAL_PAGE;
         /* All subclasses of ScriptBitsTag should call super.doStartTag()
          * at the begining of their own doStartTag();
         public int doStartTag() throws JspException {
              initAttributes();
              return TagSupport.SKIP_BODY;
         public abstract  void setAttributeValue(String attributeName, String attributeValue);
         public abstract String getAttributeValue(String attributeName);
         /* Use this method to initialize attributes at the start of tag execution */
         public abstract void initAttributes();
         //...So, for example, I will have a sb:slidingFrame tag that looks like this:
    package net.thelukes.steven.scriptbits;
    // Imports...
    public class SlidingFrameTag extends ScriptBitsTag {
         private java.util.Map<SlidingFrameAts,String> attributes =
                   new java.util.EnumMap<SlidingFrameAts,String>(SlidingFrameAts.class);
         public int doStartTag() throws JspException {
              super.doStartTag();
              //... Do initialize here
              return TagSupport.EVAL_BODY_INCLUDE;
         public int doEndTag() throws JspException {
              //... Do work that depends on nested parameter values here...
              return TagSupport.EVAL_PAGE;
         //Normal setXXX methods for attributes... <sb:slidingFram windowID="..." >
         public void setWindowID(String name) {
              windowName = name;
         //Do What should happen when nested tag does its work...
         //     <sb:slidingFrame><sb:attribute .../></slidingFrame>
         //For me, just put values in proper place in map...
         public void setAttributeValue(String name, String value) {
              SlidingFrameAts attrib = SlidingFrameAts.valueOf(name);
              if (attrib == null)
                   return;
              else if (attrib == SlidingFrameAts.useDefaultStyleSheet)
                   this.setUseDefaultStylesheet(Boolean.valueOf(value));
              else if (attrib == SlidingFrameAts.offX)
                   attributes.put(attrib, value);
              else {
                   nonDefaultInit = true;
                   attributes.put(attrib, value);
         public String getAttributeValue(String name) {
              return attributes.get(SlidingFrameAts.valueOf(name));
         //Set Default values for all attributes.
         public void initAttributes() {
    }So now I have a tag that is designed to be nested inside ScriptBitsTags and provide attributes for them:
    package net.thelukes.steven.scriptbits;
    //includes
    public class ScriptBitsAttributeTag extends BodyTagSupport {
         private String attName = null;
         private String attVal  = null;
         //Normal set methods for in tag attribes: <sb:attribute name="..." value="..."/>
         public void setName(String name) {
              attName = name;
         public void setValue(String value) {
              attVal = value;
         public int doEndTag() throws JspException {
              //If value not set yet, it should come from the tag's body
              //<sb:attribute name="...">Some Value</sb:attribute>
              if (attVal == null) {
                   if (bodyContent != null && bodyContent.getString() != null) {
                        attVal = bodyContent.getString().trim();
                   } else {
                        //If not found in body, then use empty string for value...
                        //(or some appropriate value....)
                        attVal = "";
              setAttribute();
              return TagSupport.EVAL_PAGE;
         //Assign the attribute to the this tag's parent.
         private void setAttribute() {
              ScriptBitsTag parentTag =
                   (ScriptBitsTag)TagSupport.findAncestorWithClass(this, ScriptBitsTag.class);
              parentTag.setAttributeValue(attName, attVal);
    }The TLD has the SlidingFrame tag look like this:
      <tag>
        <description>Sliding Menu Window</description>
        <display-name>SlidingWindow</display-name>
        <name>slidingWindow</name>
        <tag-class>net.thelukes.steven.scriptbits.SlidingFrameTag</tag-class>
        <body-content>jsp</body-content>
        <!-- attributes available for in tag sb:slidingFram windowID="..." for example -->
        <!-- set required to false to allow the attribute to be set by sb:attribute tag -->
      </tag>The rest of the tld is pretty standard... In my JSP I then have:
    <sb:slidingFrame windowID="sliding_frame">
      <%-- Attribute Set for this sliding frame --%>
      <sb:attribute name="speed">
        <c:out value="${sessionScope.speedV}"/>
      </sb:attribute>
      <%-- Content of the sliding frame --%>
      Menu Item A<br/>
      Menu Item B<br/>
      Menu Item C<br/>
      <hr/>
      Menu Item A<br/>
    </sb:slidingFrame>In this case, instead of doing:
    <sb:slidingFrame speed="<sb:attribute value='whatever'/>">I nested the attribute tag between sb:slidingFrame's open and close tag. You have to make sure that any work you want to do that depends on the value of speed is done in the doEndTag so as to make sure it occurs after the nested tag does its work.

    What will be name of lookup definition of SAP attributes? (In case of AD, we have AtMap.AD).
    Can any body please help me?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    You cannot add custom fields and do provision or recon for it.I have opened the SR with Oracle and this facility will be available in 9.1. which is launching after 4 months.You need to request the source code and modify it to get the custom fields.
    Thanks

    if any body is having an sample code can u please post it.
    regards
    viswag

    Hi Viswa,
    In CRM 4.0, marketing attributes set can be created at T-code [CRMD_PROF_TEMPL]
    The created attribue set can be assigned to BP at T-code [CRMD_PROF_BP]
    The other way you can open the BP, in marketing at marketing attributes tab your can assign the created attribute set.

  • Change Background Attribute of Body Element?

    hi,
    i want to change the backgound attribute of body tag i am not able to do it with setCharacterAttributes method but i could do it for other elements which are leaf eg Image,etc,
    SetCharacterAttribute method states that the getStartOffset method will return the offset of the first child if the element happens to be non leaf element ,if so how do i get the offset??
    I have searched the forum on the above issue but didnt get any feasable solution!!
    Thanks in Advance
    Nawaz

    Hello, there are meanings, but not very easy...
    1)
    First, search and get the Element named body.
    get attributes and cast them to javax.swing.text.MutableAttributeSet.
    then you can set theAttribute.add(...) to set the attribute you want
    But :( this method need get a write lock of HTMLDocument.
    But :(( writeLock() and writeUnlock() method are protected. Then you must override them to set them public
    and use
    try {
       doc.writeLock()
       attr.add(---);
    finally
       doc.writeUnlock()
    }Before do this check if the backgound attribute works on JTextPane by opening a such document...
    2) get the HTML code, modify it and replace it

    2) I'm looking at how you called stuff, and you're trying to call the jsp file as an image? That jsp isn't the source of the image, just a page linking to an image. I think if you really want to do things that way you're going to need to just include that jsp within the jsp you're calling it from (or you can do it the easy way, and if you have the information to get the path of the image you want, you could simply call the image from the first jsp you posted)This is incorrect.
    There are two JSPs. The second when called will (if it worked) return the source of an image as stored in the database.even when called with <img src=xx.jsp>??
    Yes.
    If any of what I say next seems obvious or otherwise negative I apologize, just trying to explain and I don't know what you know vs what you don't.
    The link in the src is just a URL not a filetype. So just because it ends with JSP does not mean it has to return HTML. The content type is determined by the browser using the Content-Type header returned by the server in the HTTP response. In this case the header is set to be a jpeg so that's what the browser will attempt to interpret the content part of the response as.
    So in fact one is not limited to just HTML or images but whatever content type you would like to return (that the browser can understand anyway). This could be HTML or it could be an image of some type or it could be a PDF or it could be an Excel spreadsheet. All you have to do in the JSP is set the header appropriately and then send content that is actually in that format.
    This does not just apply to JSP by the way but all other web programming languages. You can do similar things to produce the same results in PHP, Perl, ASP etc.
    The only JSP/Servlet complication is whether or not doing this in a JSP is a "good" idea but I am not an expert enough at that to make a definitive statement. Mostly though JDBC in a JSP is a no-no.

  • Escape attributes for hidden tags

    Hi all,
    We have a migrated app that created escape attributes for some hidden tags.
    ie.
    <jato:hidden name="stBeginningCommission" fireDisplayEvents="true"
    escape="true" /> <br>
    Looking at the jato.tld and the code for HiddenTag.java, the escape
    attribute isn't one that get used for hiddens.
    We did a quick clean up and removed the attribute from the JSP but I though
    I might be worth a mention for future releases.
    It's interesting is tomcat 3.2.1 allows this and 3.2.3 does not.

    I take everything back.
    The tag was originally a text field. It was changed after translation to a
    hidden without removing the attribute.

  • BUG JSP editor jsp:attribute action

    Hello, there's a bug in JDeveloper.
    1. Create tag file
    <%@ tag pageEncoding="UTF-8"%>
    <%@ attribute name="x" fragment="true" required="true" %>
    2. Create JSP file
    <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8"%>
    <%@ taglib tagdir="/WEB-INF/tags/" prefix="tags"%>
    <tags:tagFile1>
    <jsp:attribute name="x">
    Hello
    </jsp:attribute>
    </tags:tagFile1>
    JDeveloper underlines the tag in red and says "Required attribute x is missing..." OC4J runtime behaviour is normal (if we ignore other issues with tag files). I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.1.

    Hi,
    Put this code in the editor and see it will show you the preview

    <html>
    <body>
    Hello
    </body>
    </html>
    ===================================================
    what does this mean? If you use HTMLB tags then you cannot see a preview. Not because of " <%@ taglib uri="tagLib" prefix="hbj" %> " this statement is used to tell to the program which executes the jsp that use this TagLib to understand what the component starting with hbj should do.

  • The window title attribute for the page layout region has not been set

    Hi, I am a newbie to OA Framework extensions. Could you please advise me how to get rid of below error ?
    "The window title attribute for the page layout region has not been set. This attribute value will be used for the browser window title and should be set according to the UI standards. A default window title will be displayed for all such pages that violate the standards. Action: Set the window title or title attribute for the page layout region. The title attribute is used as a secondary source for the window title if the window title is missing."
    My requirement is to extend a VO and almost done with that but when i run the PG ( HomePG.xml ) file to ensure everything is fine , The target page is being displayed with above error. Just to let you know that i have already set the Titile and Window Title attributes for the HomePG.xml region i.e PageLayoutRN.
    One more thing i would like to share is that i was set the Window Title to 'Oracle Applications Home Page' , but target page name is being displayed as 'Oracle Applications'.
    Any suggestions ??
    Thanks.

  • Can i create more than one attributes for the custom class created using java API

    Hello everyone,
    I have been creating class and its attributes programatically using java APIs, I want to know that is there any way to create multipal attributs for the same class in just one call of API with all the options for each attributes,
    thanks

    You can create a new class and define all of the Attributes at the time the class is created - this is the preferred way of creating classes. Use the addAttributeDefinition() method on ClassObjectDefinition. If you need to add attributes to existing classes, you can only add them one at a time (using the addAttribute() method on ClassObject).

  • How can we add a control on our .jsp webpage for uploading several image fi

    How can we add a control on our .jsp webpage for uploading several image files as done in gmail attachment, Where a Remove button also appears if we wanna remove the particular attachment.

    The SCOM Management Server is in Domain A.  I've tried it already and it has failed.
    So just to clarify the method I used was to go to Administration>Security>User Roles.  Then New User Role>Read-Only Operator.  In the Create User Role Wizard I then gave the User Role a name, Clicked "Add" under User Role Members.
     Then the Select Users or Groups window pops up and I changed the Locations from Domain A to Domain B and searched for the user, which it's able to find, then clicked "OK" to add it to the User Role members which it does just fine.  On
    the next page which is Group Scope I checked the one group I want this account to have access to and then click next.  This brings me to Dashboards and Views where I click the radio button for "Only the dashboards and views selected in each tab are
    approved" and chose the folder of dashboards I want this account to access and then click next.  This brings me to the Summary and I click "Create".  At this point it thinks for a moment then closes out the wizard but the new Read-Only
    Operator does not appear.  I then look in Event Viewer and see the Event I pasted above.
    Am I doing something wrong here?  Any guidance on how to get around this issue would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jake
