JSP creating XML, on Solaris 2.6 using Netscape Enterprise Server 4.0

Hi,
I have a jsp file which generates a dynamic xml document. Data is
obtained from Oracle using jdbc and the OracleXSU utils : xmlparser.jar
and xsu12.jar are used to give an XML string.
This works fine on NT4.0/Java Web Server 2.0, but when I port to
Solaris 2.6,Netscape Enterprise Server 4.0, this gives problems.
I get the following error message which is of no help. Nor there
is an error message on the Solaris log files.
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
Unspecified error
When you do a View Source, it does show the XML returned from the
server, but it simply doesn't style it on the browser.
Is there any setting anywhere?
Please help.
Thanks,
Cassian.

How did you setup the *.xsql mapping to the
oracle.xml.xsql.XSQLServlet servlet ?
I don4t know how to do this with Netscape
Enterprise Server.
Thanks for your help!

XSQL-004: Could not acquire a database connection named: demo
XSQL-007: Cannot acquire a database connection to process page.
We have tried to put XSQLConfig.xml in every where that the Server suppose to find, but returned with the same error message. We don't know what we can do next. Can any of you give us some suggestion? Besides, we also have following questions:
1. How do you treat XSQLConfig.xml inside of your source code? Which path does it search?
2. Is the file XSQLConfig.xml all lower case or case mixed inside of your code? Because when we extract downloaded file on UNIX machine, it returns with xsqlconfig.xml, but on WINNT, it was XSQLConfig.xml. Which one is right? However, in UNIX even we chang it to XSQLConfig.xml, it still does work.
We are really in dead-end, please help.

  • Problems in transforming XML to HTML using HP-UX with Netscape Enterprise Server 4.0 sp3

    Hi,
    Has anyone ever had any problem using XML in NES 4.0 sp3?
    I'm using the libraries com.sun.xml.parser, com.sun.xml.tree, javax.xml.transform.
    The html is being created but is not being returned.
    (it is not showed in browser)
    This same xml application works well in Solaris with Iplanet Web Server 4.1, but it is not working in HP-UX with Netscape Enterprise Server 4.0 sp3.
    I'm entirely lost. I don't know if there is a bug in this version (NES 4.0) or if I need other xml libraries or it is a problem of JRE version.
    Any comments will be appreciate.
    Thanks

    Our company planned to launch the new site this december, but XSL is giving us some major problems:
    *** All our customers are obliged to use Internet Explorer 4/5.x. Some don't like that at all: they stick to Netscape.

    I heard that it is possible to do the parsing at the serverside, using XSLT, creating HTML.

  • Can Solaris Os System  use as a server edition

    Hai guys i am new to solaris system, and my company selected solaris system as our server edition....
    Can any one enplane me the solaris OS system could we use as a server edition ?

    You could run a Mac Pro using OS X Server. This would allow you to provided services to your small office network, and still use the Mac Pro as your desktop machine.
    However, depending on what you are actually intending to use the server for, you may be better off with an older Mac to use for your server. Simple AFP and Windows file services are easily handled by just about any Mac, with the older Quicksilvers through the G5's being good choices for use as servers.
    Having a dedicated server, instead of one sharing use as a desktop, means a more stable server for everyone else to use. It also will allow for a more consistent backup and archiving, then a dual role machine will usually be used for.
    However, if you do not have the funds to repurpose an older machine, or buy a new machine for your server, then sharing a desktop with a small office group is indeed doable.
    As for running Autocad and the server os at the same time, the answer is probably no. The reason is the bootcamp based Windows XP is a one or the other proposition, you are either running WIndows XP or OS X but not both.
    On the other hand, if you use virtualization software, such as Parallel you can run both OS X and XP at the same time, however, current released versions of Parallel have limited graphic acceleration and 3D support. Newer beta versions of Parallel are starting to include better graphics support, including 3D. So the question is if AutoCad will run reasonably well under Parallel or not. I think the answer will depend on how you use AutoCad. If you use it mostly for 2D drawings, then it will probably run fine. If you use 3D rendering, you may need, at least for the time being, need to use Bootcamp to run Windows XP natively and get full graphics support.

    plz somebody specify the whole process from

    can run a jsp page written in struts using tomcatThere are dozens of tutorials on this. First, you need to get Tomcat running without Struts. There are HOW-TO's, sample apps, the whole shebang over at Jakarta's site. Start there. If you get stuck, there are also tutorials on Servlets (and probably Tomcat in specific) on the Net. Do a Google search.
    Next, download Struts. There is, again, extensive HOW-TO and tutorials on their site as well.

This absolutely ***** ... What a stinker.....
    I can't think of anything more idiotic than invoking the memory of Jobs here. Are you truly unaware that the iPad and iOS is pretty much exactly the way he wanted it to be, just like about everything else Apple?
    As to your claim of "previous email applications", certainly none in iOS ever did that, and the only folders you can create and manipulate in POP accounts are those local to only that single machine or platform, not particularly helpful or desirable in today's environments.

    and I want to set up customized error responses. I have entered the file name of a valid html file in the "Error Response" link under the "preferences tab" for the server. However, it is not working, all I get is the default browser error page. Any ideas?

    Damien,
    Did you try entering in the absolute path to the file and not just the filename? Also, did you do a save and apply of the change so that the webserver process restarts and reloads the obj.conf changes?
    I tested this with iPlanet Web Server 4.1sp9 and it seems to be working properly there.

  • Unable to use a custom security realm with Netscape Directory Server in WebLogic 7

  • Creating XML using EJB

    hi,
    i want to know if the following is possible using EJB and XML.
    using HTML/javascript, a form has been created. now the user makes selections using the form. i want to create a XML file that encapsulates the user selections ie this XML file should contain the selections made by the user. this XML file should also automatically change whenever the user makes new selections on the HTML form.
    someone suggested me that Beans are the best option to use. can u guide me on how to proceed using Beans.
    thanks in advance.

    Why not use a JSP? Much quicker.
    (When someone suggested you use Beans, I doubt they meant Enterprise Beans - cf. SledgeHammer vs Nut).

  • Creating XML report using PL/SQL Stored Procedure

    Hi Friends,
    I am working on an xml report with the xml source as PL/SQL Stored Procedure.
    I am referring the exercise shown in the following link to understand the process:
       http://orclapp.blogspot.com/2012/02/developing-xml-publisher-report-using.html
    In the example shown in the above link I could not understand the following:
    1) In the following procedure, the out parameter 'retcode' is not used at all.
       What is the importance of this parameter.
        PROCEDURE REPORT (errbuf  OUT VARCHAR2, retcode  OUT VARCHAR2, p_product_id   IN     NUMBER)
    2)  After the xml data is prepared and put to 'l_result' Clob variable, the following
        Loop is executed. I am not able to appreciate why the following loop is required.
         LOOP
             EXIT WHEN l_length = l_retrieved;
             IF (l_length - l_retrieved) < 32000
             THEN
                SELECT SUBSTR (l_result, l_retrieved + 1) INTO l_xmlstr FROM DUAL;
                l_retrieved := l_length;
                fnd_file.put_line (fnd_file.output, l_xmlstr);
             ELSE
                SELECT SUBSTR (l_result, l_retrieved + 1, l_offset)
                  INTO l_xmlstr
                  FROM DUAL;
                l_retrieved := l_retrieved + l_offset;
                fnd_file.put_line (fnd_file.output, l_xmlstr);
             END IF;
         END LOOP;
    3) In the example it is not explained how the concurrent program gets the xml data?
       I assume it is written to a file using the following line of code:
        fnd_file.put_line (fnd_file.output, l_xmlstr);
       I would appreciate if anyone can throw some light into my above queries so that I can understand the process clearly.
    Thanks & Regards
    Hawker

    Hi 32000 in the code is a 'safe' size smaller than the max available 32767, the loops purpose is to move through the entire thing in chunks that will be manageable in the limits of the data type.
    Btw; if you are in Oracle e-business suite then you can also use Oracle reports very simply to create XML output.
    If you have reports developer all you need to do is put raw sql (without any 'artifice' to create XML) in the report SQL and then set the reports output to XML in the program definition in Oracle e-business.
    best regards,
    Robert.

    "How to create XML Publisher Report without using RDF?"
    Your help is appreciated.

    Hi Swapnesh
    YOu do not need to create the XDODTEXE, its seeded for you. You need to do the following:
    1. Create and test the data template
    2. Load the data template to the template manager against a data definition
    3. Create a concurrent program definition that uses the XDODTEXE as its executable
    4. Create parameters (if required) for the CP and DT that match in name

  • Creating XML File Using xmldom Package

    How can I create an XML file from scratch using the PL/SQL xmldom package?
    I want to create an XML file using the xmldom package instead of building the individual tags as strings of VARCHAR2 character data.     DBMS_XMLGEN.SETCONVERTSPECIALCHARS(ctx,TRUE);

    xmldoc := DBMS_XMLGEN.getXML(ctx);
    -- put data to host-file:

    maybe while work UTL_FILE there is a change the encoding ?
    How can this solved ?
    Thank you

    Marco,
    I tryed to work with dbms_xslprocessor.clob2file,
    that works good,
    but what is in this matter with encoding UTF-8 ?
    in my understandig, the xmltyp created should be UTF8 (16),
    but when open the xml-file in xmlSpy as UTF-8,
    it is not well ( german caracter like Ä, Ö .. ):
    my dbms is
    NLS_CHARACTERSET = WE8MSWIN1252
    NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET = AL16UTF16
    NLS_RDBMS_VERSION = 10.2.0.1.0
    -- test:
    create table nh_test ( s0 number, s1 varchar2(20) ) ;
    insert into nh_test (select 1,'hallo' from dual );
    insert into nh_test (select 2,'straße' from dual );
    insert into nh_test (select 3,'mäckie' from dual );
    insert into nh_test (select 4,'euro_€' from dual );
    commit;
    select * from nh_test ;
    S0     S1
    1     hallo
    1     hallo
    2     straße
    3     mäckie
    4     euro_€
    declare
    rc sys_refcursor;
    begin
    open rc FOR SELECT * FROM ( SELECT s0,s1 from nh_test );
    dbms_xslprocessor.clob2file( xmltype( rc ).getclobval( ) , 'XML_EXPORT_DIR','my_xml_file.xml');
    end;
    ( its the same when using output with DBMS_XMLDOM.WRITETOFILE )
    open in xmlSpy is:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <ROWSET>
    <ROW>
    <S0>1</S0>
    <S1>hallo</S1>

    For the last 5 years (and in IPCC3.x/4.x,UCCX/5.x/7.x) I've used the same basic subflow to read a XML document that contains holiday dates where the queue should be closed.  I've re-used this script on 20+ client installs and it's always worked.  The structure of the script allows you to pass the path and filename of the XML document as parameters to the subflow. (The document is in the repository)
    I loaded this script in UCCX 8.0.2 recently and it crashed with a Java.IO error.  It looked like it was trying to read the file system directly and not the repository. (In the Linux appliance model this kind of makes sense but why is the step trying to read the file system directly?)
    So I open a TAC case (SR# 615243125) and TAC tells me that the method of using the Create File Document step is not supported anymore and that I should specify the filename directly in the Create XML Document step
    The problem that I see (aside from having to edit all my scripts that use XML files) is that the Create XML Document step is looking for the input to be a type DOCUMENT and not a type STRING.  This seems to imply that I have to hardcode the document in each script that I deploy for a customer.  When it was a string it was easy to construct the full file path from parameters and pass to the subflow.
    Questions to the group
    #1 Am I missing something here?
    #2  Do you assume that you'll be able to load a script that worked fine in UCCX 7 into UCCX 8 and that it should completely function when you're doing everything according to the step reference documentation.
    #3 Cisco didn’t document this in any way that I can find.
    #4 How can you use the Create XML Document step in a fashion that would let you construct the path of the file and the filename previously in the script so you could pass it to a subflow ?  It would seem this functionality has been killed in UCCX 8

    The create XML document input can only be a type DOCUMENT

    #1 Am I missing something here?
    You are mixing two different issues together here.
    The Create File Document step is indeed not needed or supported for creating an XML document. That is why there is a unique step; to trigger XML parsing within the MIVR subsystem.
    Accessing the file system is restricted to a single folder within the VOS model (i.e. 8.0+). This folder is not backed up, replicated, or cleaned up automatically. It was intended to give developers some FS access as a temporary swap location only.
    #2  Do you assume that you'll be able to load a script that
    worked fine in UCCX 7 into UCCX 8 and that it should completely
    function when you're doing everything according to the step reference
    documentation.
    Assume nothing; read the documentation and attend one of the dozens of partner training sessions that CCBU put on advising of the upcoming changes.
    #3 Cisco didn’t document this in any way that I can find.
    You're right, I guess, on the Create File vs. XML Document step. AFAIK Cisco never wrote a notice into the Step Reference Guide explicitly stating that you cannot use the Create File Document although the documentation seemed pretty clear to me without it. File system restrictions are documented in the 8.0 release notes.
    Scripting and Development Series: Volume 2, Editor Step ReferenceUse the Create XML Document step to create a logical document that maps a document to another document variable (where the document has already been pre-parsed as an XML document and is ready to be accessed by the Get XML Document Data step).Use this step before the Get XML Document Data step to obtain data from a document formatted using the Extensible Markup Language (XML).
    #4 How can you use the Create XML Document step in a fashion that would
    let you construct the path of the file and the filename previously in
    the script so you could pass it to a subflow ?  It would seem this functionality has been killed in UCCX 8
    No it hasn't; just concatinate a string to build the Source Document parameter the step needs. Example:  "DOC[" + myFilePath + "]"
