JSP Error on Insert but not Update

I am using JDeveloper 3.1 with Oracle 8.16 to create JSP applications using the wizard for business components.
The jsp's generated allow me to update a record in the table. I have cloned the Edit JSP's to enable me to insert a record with the addition of the line below in the JSP.
RowEditor.createNewRow();
On pressing the insert icon, I get the following JSP error :
Any ideas ?

  • Catch a JBO-26041 error on insert, but continue processing

    re-post:
    Does anyone know if this is possible?
    I'm creating new rows in a ViewObject within a loop. It's possible that the record that I'm trying to create already exists, so I want to catch a JBO-26041 error and basically ignore it (don't insert/create new row) and continue processing/creating rows within the loop. Committing at the end of the loop.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks!

    I've tried the following:
    for (int i = 1; i < objectIdList.length; i++) {
    try {
    row = vo.createRow();
    row.setAttribute("ScreenObjectId", objectIdList);
    row.setAttribute("AccessId", accessId);
    am.getTransaction().postChanges();
    } catch (JboException je) {
    if ("26041".equals(je.getErrorCode)))) {
    // ignore error, don't insert
    ????? what can I do here?
    } /// for loop
    if (am.getTransaction().isDirty()) {

    You can not update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software. This is the computer that we have always updated our apps on. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

    I have the same thing. It looks like it's the store. What is happening is that instead of the store showing you only the updates for the account you are logged into, it shows you the updates for all of your accounts. So if you try & update an app that was purchased with another account, you get that message. This is a pain, as you have to go through the apps individually (update all just gives you an error) , and then log out & into the other account again to get the rest of the updates.

  • Data Services job rolling back Inserts but not Deletes or Updates

    I have a fairly simple CDC job that I'm trying to put together. My source table has a record type code of "I" for Inserts, "D" for deletes, "UB" for Update Before and "UP" for Update After. I use a Map_CDC_Operation transform to update the destination table based on those codes.
    I am not using the Transaction Control feature (because it just throws an error when I use it)
    My issue is as follows.
    Let's say I have a set of 10,000 Insert records in my source table. Record number 4000 happens to be a duplicate of record number 1. The job will process the records in order starting with record 1 and begin happily inserting records into the destination table. Once it gets to record 4000 however it runs into a duplicate key issue and then my try/catch block catches the error and the dataflow will exit. All records that were inserted prior to the error will be rolled back in the destination.
    But the same is not true for updates or deletes. If I have 10000 deletes and 1 insert in the middle that happens to be an insert of a duplicate key, any deletes processed before the insert will not be rolled back. This is also the case for updates.
    And again, I am not using Transaction Control, so I'm not sure why the Inserts are being rolled back, but more curiously Updates and Deletes are not being rolled back. I'm not sure why there isn't a consistent result regardless of type of operation. Does anyone know what's going on here or  what I'm doing wrong/what my misconception may be?
    Environment information: both source and destination are SQL Server 2008 databases and the Data Services version we use is 14.1.1.460.
    If you require more information, please let me know.

    Hi Michael,
    Thanks for your reply. Here are all the options on my source table:
    My Rows per commit on the table is 10,000.
    Delete data table before loading is not checked.
    Column comparison - Compare by name
    Number of loaders - 1
    Use overflow file - No
    Use input keys - Yes
    Update key columns - No
    Auto correct load - No
    Include in transaction - No
    The rest were set to Not Applicable.
    How can I see the size of the commits for each opcode? If they are in fact different from my Rows per commit (10,000) that may solve my issue.
    I'm new to Data Services so I'm not sure how I would implement my own transaction control logic using a control column and script. Is there a guide somewhere I can follow?
    I can also try using the Auto correct load feature.  I'm guessing "upsert" was a typo for insert? Where is that option?
    Thank you very much!

              The effect to use <jsp:forward> or RequestDispatcher.forward is different between
              BEA and Tomcat (even Websphere). Weblogic stores the output in a buffer, before
              the buffer reaches the limit, you can call those forward methods without obvious
              problems. Tomcat (and Websphere I ever tested) is not so tolerable. If you have
              send out something via Servlet writer or JSPWriter, or have something like HTML
              tags/text before forwards, chances are big to encounter the exceptions you have.
              So I use more include methods to assemble my JSPs and servlets, for the purpose
              of portability.

    Look at application monitors in SRM (PO --> Backend errors).
    Look at ST22 in R/3.

  • Error In Tomcat But Not In WebLogic

              I have a .war file that runs perfectly in WebLogic 7.0. Today I tried to run that

              this error that perhaps Tomcat does not do?

  • Mutating table exception on trigger with After Insert but not with before

    Hi
    I need to maintain some constraint on the table to have only one row for values of the columns but not by primary key constraint.
    Because in case of primary key the insert would fail and the rest of the operation would be discontinued, I cannot change in the somponent that inserts the row so I have to prevent that on the table I have.
    I created a before insert trigger on the table which checks if any row exists in the table with same column values as the one being inserted. if found I delete the rows and let the insert happen (w/o raising any error). if the rows do not exist then the insert shall be continued.
    I read at place that modifying the dame table in the trigger body shall raise a mutating table exception, but I donot get the exception when the trigger is fired.
    Just when I change the trigger to after insert trigger then the nutating table exception is thrown.
    Is it the right behavior i.e. the Before insert trigger does not raise the exception and only after insert does that, since I could not find the example for before insert triggers throwing such exception so I think it is better to confirm it before finalizing the implementation.
    Thanks
    Sapan

    sapan wrote:
    Hi Tubby
    I cannot user unique constraint because that would raise an exception upon violation and the third party component that is inserting in the table would fail.
    That component does some other tasks as well after this insert and if an exception is raised then those tasks would not be performed.
    Also I cannot change the component to ignore this exception.Well then, you're in a bit of a pickle.
    I'm guessing the trigger you have been working on isn't "safe". By that i mean that it doesn't account for multi-user scenarios. You'll need to serialize access to the data elements in question and implement some sort of locking mechanism to ensure that only 1 session can work with those values.
    After you work out how to do that it sounds as though you would be better served using an INSTEAD OF trigger (you'd need to implement this on a view which is made off of your base table).
    Here's one way you can work on serializing access to your table on a relatively fine grained level (as opposed to locking the entire table).
    Re: possible to lock stored procedure so only one session may run it at a time?

  • Can insert but cannot update table.

    Hi,
    I am finding trouble in something that I thought would be very easy. I have writen some code that simply updates some rows in one table (update table set column = value where critery; commit;). This table isn't associated to any Forms block. The code is properly executed except for forms 40401 exception, but I have dealt with it by changing the message level, as it was suggested in this forum.
    My problem is that in spite of getting no error the table isn't updated. I find this pretty weird. I thought it might be some problem related with database permissions, but the same command launched on PL/SQL Developer under the same database connection works fine. I have also checked that insert statement over the same table works properly.
    Do you have any idea?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Thank you very much for your replies. I finally managed to solve the issue and I must apologize for having posted this thread. After all, it was quite an easy solution, as I suspected. A data format question. In Spain, decimal numbers are written with comma - ',' and the data I was trying to update always consisted of numbers. These numbers were coming from character variables, and the problem was behind the types conversion. Things worked properly if I wrote UPDATE BUQUES B SET B.B_ESLORATOTAL=TO_NUMBER('12,23'), but they didn't when I used a variable p_Valor where '12,23' value was stored. So was done in my Forms procedure and it seems it was crashing although I didn't get any error.
    I finally managed solved the issue by using FORMS_DDL command and building up the update statement in a string. As soon as I checked what I was storing in this string I noticed the mistake.
    Again, thank you very much for your time.
    Regards,
    Fernando
