Jsp plugin in page fragment

Would like to include an applet in a page fragment, however JSC is not happy.
Create a page fragment, add a
jsp: plugin tag and jsc complains with the error:
The prefix "jsp" for element "jsp: plugin" is not bound.
Have tried setting this plugin inside a panel grid and also within the div itself.
So - how do I include a jsp : plugin in a page fragement?
Thanks

  • Jsp:plugin jreversion1.4 - tomcat4.1.10 - how do I do this?

    I would like to get Tomcat 4.1.10 to recognize jreversion's other than 1.2.2 when using the jsp:plugin tag.
    <b>My setup:</b>
    Windows XP Professional
    Tomcat 4.1.10
    JDK 1.4.0_01
    I wrote a cheezy applet that just displays "Helloworld"
    and works fine in a simple page with just a simple applet tag.
    I have a short JSP page with the following plugin line:
    <code>
    <jsp:plugin type="applet" code="forgetech.web.ForgeApplet" codebase="." archive="ForgeApplet.jar" height="100" width="200" jreversion="1.4.1">
    <jsp:fallback>
    <b> JRE 1.4.1 could not be installed. </b>
    </jsp:fallback>
    </jsp:plugin>
    </code>
    The page works fine for all machines that already have a JVM.
    But
    On a Windows 2000 Professional box w/ IE6 and no Sun JVM; when
    I navigate to the page it tries to download and install the 1.2.2 plugin. I want it to download the latest JRE instead. How can I get Tomcat to recognize 1.4 (or soon 1.4.1) and download the appropriate JRE? I tried looking through some of the config files looking for some kind of mapping but did not see anything.
    I know I can use the <b>nspluginurl</b> and <b>iepluginurl</b>, but I really dont like hardcoding links into my code.
    As a bonus; is there a way to fill in jsp:plugin jreversion attribute with a JNDI lookup. This would be nice so that I can set all of my JSP's on my Tomcat server to push the latest and greatest JRE with their applets.
    Thanx in advance,

  • How to assign style class to page fragment?

    Hi,
    I try to assign CSS style classes to a page fragment, but there is no way to assign style classes from the default stylesheet.css.
    What do I miss here?
    Stephan

    Hi Tor,
    you will recognize that I made some changes, but it didn't solve the problem. As I mentioned everything is rendering fine on Linux and Firefox, also on Windows and Netscape 7.2, but not with IE. In particular the hyperlinks in the page fragment are centered, but on IE they are moved to the right. I also recognized that on all my jsp with the page fragment on it there is a space of about 10 px left on the right side of the window in IE. Following is the source view from IE:

  • Problem with popup in a page fragment

    JDev 11.1.2.1
    I'm using the code described here to launch popup from a backing bean.
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/oct2010-otn-harvest-183714.pdf
    How-to launch a popup programmatically from Java
    Starting Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1.3, instance of af:popup can be opened using a Java method on the RichPopup object. The RichPopup class is the bean implementation of the af:popup ADF Faces tag. To launch a popup from a managed bean, you first need to get a hold on to a rich popup instance, which you can do by searching it on the UIViewRoot or by referencing a JSF component binding – which you create using the "binding" property of the af:popup component tag. To open the popup you then call
    RichPopup.PopupHints ph = new RichPopup.PopupHints(); popup.show(ph);
    It works fine except when the popup is inside a page fragment.
    In IE 7 I get the javascript error message
    "this.getDomNode().parentNode' is null or not an object"
    I have also tried the following code; that works fine except when the popup is inside a page fragment.
    FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    String popupId = popup.getClientId(context);
    FacesContext facesContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ExtendedRenderKitService service =
    Service.getRenderKitService(facesContext,
    ExtendedRenderKitService.class);
    service.addScript(facesContext,
    "AdfPage.PAGE.findComponent('" + popupId + "').show();");
    Any idea how to launch a popup in a page fragment?

    Since this is working for others I'm working on a test case to send to oracle.
    I'll try to give more information.
    Main.jspx
    has a region for Child.jsff using a bounded task flow.
    <af:region value="#{bindings.Child.regionModel}" id="r1"/>
    Child.jsff has a popup bound to backing bean and a button that calls java to open the popup.
    Child.jsff has its own set of bindings. It is not inherting parent bindings.

    </af:popup>
    <af:commandButton text="testPopup" id="cb1" actionListener="#{TestBacking.test}"/>
    TestBacking.java
    public void setTestPop(RichPopup testPop) {
    this.testPop = testPop;
    public RichPopup getTestPop() {
    return testPop;
         public void test(ActionEvent actionEvent) {
              RichPopup.PopupHints ph = new RichPopup.PopupHints();
              testPop.show(ph);

  • Problem with buttons in page fragment

    Hi,
    I'm developing a jsp-page, which has two page-fragments and one inline frame..
    I've a problem with one page-fragment. This one contains three buttons, for changing the language. When someone pushes the button, it seems that there is no action triggered...
    Here is my code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <div style="-rave-layout: grid" xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" xmlns:j="http://www.sun.com/creator/jsfcl">
        <f:loadBundle basename="oltbwebapplication.bundle" var="bundle"/>
        <h:outputText binding="#{OltbStatus.mnuBanksys}" id="mnuBanksys" style="left: 96px; top: 0px; position: absolute" value="#{bundle.mnuLac}"/>
        <h:commandButton action="#{OltbStatus.choseNl}" actionListener="#{OltbStatus.btnNl_processAction}" binding="#{OltbStatus.btnNl}" id="btnNl"
            style="left: 432px; top: 0px; position: absolute" value="NL"/>
        <h:commandButton action="#{OltbStatus.choseFr}" binding="#{OltbStatus.btnFr}" id="btnFr" style="left: 480px; top: 0px; position: absolute" value="FR"/>
        <h:commandButton action="#{OltbStatus.choseEn}" binding="#{OltbStatus.btnEn}" id="btnEn" style="left: 528px; top: 0px; position: absolute" value="EN"/>
    </div>Thx in advance
    Ann Carpentier

    Hi Ann,
    I was working with dropdowns in pagefragments consequent to your query. I noticed that there is a problem with the dropdowns too. This especially happens if you have the same components in both the page fragments. For example buttons in both the page fragments or dropdowns in both page fragments etc.
    I have filed a change request on your behalf for the same.
    We thank you for bringing this to our notice.
    Thanks and
    Cheers :-)

  • How can I pass a value into a page fragment?

    How can I pass a value into a page fragment?
    I am implementing four search screens. And the only thing different about them will be their backing bean.
    So I’d like to do something like have four pages, each which retrieves its appropriate backing bean, sets that bean to a variable, and then includes a page fragment which contains the generic search page code (which will make use of that variable).
    The code in the four pages would be something like this:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='windows-1252'?>
    <jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.0"
    xmlns:c="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core">
    <jsp:directive.page contentType="text/html;charset=windows-1252"/>
    <c:set var="searchPageBackingBean"
    value="#{pageFlowScope.employeeSearchPageBean}"
    scope="page"/>
    <jsp:include page="./SearchPageBody.jsff"/>
    </jsp:root>
    At this point, what I’m seeing is that the fragment page, SearchPageBody.jsff, has no visibility of the searchPageBackingBean variable, either referencing it as #{pageFlowScope.searchPageBackingBean} or just #{searchPageBackingBean}

    The following will work, assuming you are needing to access a managed bean:
    Put this in the parent page:
    <c:set var="nameOfSearchPageBackingBean"
    value="employeeSearchPageBean"
    scope="request"/>
    Put this in the child, SearchPageBody.jsff:
    <c:set var="searchPageBean"
    value="#{pageFlowScope[nameOfSearchPageBackingBean]}"
    scope="page"/>

  • How can I do a dynamic include of a page fragment?

    I have a technical support website with a lot of simple html pages. What I want to do is hyperlink from the index page to another page, which would display these html pages as a page fragment, dynamically based on a session bean set by the hyperlink.
    I basically want to do this, if it was possible:
    <jsp:directive.include file="#{SessionBean1.pageToDisplay}"/>
    Now the FAQ's has a topic "How can I do a dynamic include of a page fragment?", which would seem to answer my question.
    But this is all it says, and it makes no sense to me. Could someone please translate? :)
    "Using a page fragment file (but using instead of the usual Creator approach) will accomplish a dynamic include."

    Here is 1 solution:
    First add this to the jsp:root tag:
    xmlns:c="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core"
    Then surround the page fragment directive with something like this:
                            <div style="position: absolute; left: 24px; top: 408px">
                                <c:if test="${SessionBean1.count > 0}">
                                    <jsp:directive.include file="testPF.jspf"/>
                                </c:if>
                            </div>

  • How to use same page fragment more than once in a page,

    Hi Gurus,
    How to use same page fragment more than once in a page. I have a complex page fragment which has lots of Bindings (Binding Property set with backingBean variables).
    I want to use the same page fragment multiple times on the same page with different tabs.
    I want different ApplicationModule Instance for the page fragment in different tabs.
    So I have created a Bounded Taskflow with pagefragments which has this complex pagefragment.
    I've dragged the taskflow to page and created regions.
    I'm able to execute the page successfully when I have only one region but fails if I have region more than once in the page.
    Can anyone help me how to resolve this issue.
    Web User Interface Developer's Guide for Oracle Application Development Framework: section 19-2 states we can have same pagefragment more than once in a page.
    Thanks,
    Satya

  • Css style class can't be used in Page Fragment?

    I need to use css to modify pages. When I open a page fragment and want to apply a css rule to a button, i can't find any styleClass available in popup window: Properties->Appreaance->styleClass.
    Does anyone have any idea?

    Hi,
    You are correct - there is a current limitation that we are working to fix. For now, you can manually add style parameters to the <div in the .jsp. I have also seen div id rule classes in the stylesheet e.g. div#content and then manually applied the div id="content" in the .jsp before the directive include.

  • RegionRenderer encodeAll The region component with id: pt1:r1 has detected a page fragment with multiple root components. Fragments with more than one root component may not display correctly in a region and may have a negative impact on performance.

    Hi,
    I am using JDEV 11.1.2.1.0
    I am getting the following error :-
    <RegionRenderer> <encodeAll> The region component with id: pt1:r1 has detected a page fragment with multiple root components. Fragments with more than one root component may not display correctly in a region and may have a negative impact on performance. It is recommended that you restructure the page fragment to have a single root component.
    Piece of code is for region is:-
       <f:facet name="second">
                                                <af:panelStretchLayout id="pa1"
                                                                       binding="#{backingBeanScope.Assign.pa1}">
                                                    <f:facet name="center">
                                                        <af:region value="#{bindings.tfdAssignGraph1.regionModel}" id="r1"
                                                                   binding="#{backingBeanScope.Assign.r1}"/>
                                                    </f:facet>
                                                </af:panelStretchLayout>
                                            </f:facet>
    How do I resolve it ?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    I see at least 3 errors
    1. <RegionRenderer> <encodeAll> The region component with id: pt1:r1 has detected a page fragment with multiple root components.
    the page fragment should only have a single component under the jsp:root tag. If you see more than one, wrap them in e.g. an af:panelGroupLayout or af:group component
    2. SAPFunction.jspx/.xml" has an invalid character ".".
    check the document (you can open it in JDeveloper if the customization was a seeded one. Seems that editing this file smething has gone bad
    3. The expression "#{bindings..regionModel}" (that was specified for the RegionModel "value" attribute of the region component with id "pePanel") evaluated to null.
    "pageeditorpanel" does seem to be missing in the PageDef file of the page holding the region

  • How can I include a dynamic content in the page fragment?

    My header.jspf contains codes similar to the following in the init() method:
    Object o =getValue("#{sessionScope.username}");
    if(o!=null){
    greetingStaticText.setRendered(true);
    }else{
    greetingStaticText.setRendered(false);
    But this code is not working as expected.
    I tried the following in the jsp page, but still no use:
    <jsp:include page="../Header.jspf"/>
    Thanks.

    Before the initial render, your logic sets rendered false. Then on the postback when the user logs in, init executes (setting it false again); the static text is overwritten with the corresponding static text object from the component tree; and subsequently the action method executes (setting username in session); the page redisplays, with rendered still false. You can overcome this by setting the rendered property from your action method. Here are steps that simulate the solution:
    1. Create a property in SessionBean1 called username of type String.
    2. Drag a Page Fragment Box onto Page1. Create a fragment called Fragment1.
    3. Drag a Hyperlink onto Page1. Set its text to "Go to Login Page" and its url property to /faces/Login.jsp.
    4. Double-click to edit Fragment1.
    5. Drag a Static Text. Set its id to greetingText and its text to "Welcome, #{SessionBean1.username}!"
    6. Drag a Hyperlink. Set its id to logoutHyperlink and its text to "Logout"
    7. Double click the logoutHyperlink and use the following code:
    public String logoutHyperlink_action() {
    getSessionBean1().setUsername(null);
    greetingText.setRendered(false);
    logoutHyperlink.setRendered(false);
    return "Page1";
    8. Append the following to Fragment1.init():
    String username = getSessionBean1().getUsername();
    greetingText.setRendered(username != null);
    logoutHyperlink.setRendered(username != null);
    9. Implement these two methods as follows:
    public void setGreetingText(StaticText st) {
    boolean rendered = this.greetingText.isRendered();
    st.setRendered(rendered);
    this.greetingText = st;
    public void setLogoutHyperlink(Hyperlink h) {
    boolean rendered = this.logoutHyperlink.isRendered();
    h.setRendered(rendered);
    this.logoutHyperlink = h;
    10. Create a new page called Login.
    11. Drag a Page Fragment Box onto Login.jsp (choose Fragment1.jspf).
    12. Drag a Text Field and bind its text property to #{SessionBean1.username}
    13. Drag a button. Set its id to loginButton and its text to "Login"
    14. Double-click loginButton and use the following code:
    public String loginButton_action() {
    ((UIComponent)getValue("#{Fragment1.greetingText}")).setRendered(true);
    ((UIComponent)getValue("#{Fragment1.logoutHyperlink}")).setRendered(true);
    return "Page1";
    15. Open Page Navigation and create an outcome called "Page1" that goes from Login.jsp to Page1.jsp.
    16. Run the app.
    17. Page1 displays with no greeting text. Click the "Go to Login Page" link.
    18. Type "misty" in the text field and click the Login button.
    19. Page1 displays, this time with the greeting text "Welcome, misty!" and a Logout hyperlink.
    20. Click the Logout hyperlink to logout. Page1 displays, this time with no greeting text or Logout hyperlink.

  • Can't get jsp:plugin to work with jb5

    I am trying to get a Swing applet compiled with JDK 1.3.1 to run on a jsp page using the <jsp:plugin> tag. At this stage it is a ridiculously simple applet (just some JLabels and JTextFields) but I can't get it to work. Here is the jsp code:
    <jsp:plugin type="applet" code="nz.astarte.ganttapplet.GanttApplet"
    codebase="./WEB-INF/classes" jreversion="1.3.1"
    width="400" height="175">
    <jsp:fallback>
    Plugin support could not be determined
    </jsp:fallback>
    </jsp:plugin>
    When I run it in the jb5 ide nothing shows up at all. OK, I figured the ide doesn't support the plugin, so leaving the ide running (which provides me with a web server) I go into IE (version 5) and enter the url to the page, which is http://localhost:8080/AppletCommunications/GanttApplet.jsp
    I get the page, and the gray box saying loading the applet but the plugin console tells me:
    load: class nz.astarte.ganttapplet.GanttApplet not found.
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: java.io.FileNotFoundException: http://localhost:8080/AppletCommunications/WEB-INF/classes/nz/astarte/ganttapplet/GanttApplet.class
    Why not? Under the directory where the jsp page is located is the directory structure WEB-INF/classes/nz/astarte/ganttapplet and in that directory is a GanttApplet.class file.
    I cannot understand why it isn't found. Do applets work with the jb5 ide? Is there something blindingly obvious that I've missed?
    Thanks, Andrew

    I appear to have solved it, but it is not clear to me why.
    I created a jar file of the required classes, and placed it in the same directory as the jsp file. My jsp code then looked like:
    <jsp:plugin type="applet" code="nz.astarte.ganttapplet.GanttApplet"
    codebase="."
    archive="GanttApplet.jar"
    jreversion="1.3.1"
    width="400" height="175">
    <jsp:fallback>
    Plugin support could not be determined
    </jsp:fallback>
    </jsp:plugin>
    This works fine. However I would expect to be able to move the jar file to some other directory, so that the jar file and jsp files are separated. I spent hours trying to work out why it wouldn't work when I had the jar
    file in WEB-INF/classes (under the jsp file directory) and had codebase="WEB-INF/classes/". In the end I put the jar file into a directory I defined separately called wotnot and defined codebase="wotnot/"
    Now it works. However I still think I should be able to have the jar file anywhere, including WEB-INF/classes and would love for someone to tell me why not!
    Thanks, Andrew

  • Page Fragment not appearing in Page Navigation!!

    My project contains a Page Fragment named Logo.jspf which is intended to be displayed on the top of every page in my project.
    I have a Link Action element on Logo.jspf and when clicked it should load Login.jsp only if the user is not loged in, and if the user is already loged in it should load some other page. I aware that I have to add codes in the action listener method in Logo.java.
    As the Page Fragment (in my case that is Logo.jspf) is not appearing in Page Navigaton window it is not possible to add code like following: (Because I cannot visually draw an arrow with name login from Logo.jspf to Login.jsp)
    public String linkAction1_action() {
    return login;
    Please anyone help to do this. Thank you very much.

    To forward to a particular page from a servlet we usually use codes similar to the following:
    request.getRequestDispatcher("/Login.jsp").forward(request, response);
    How can I get rhe request object (or the session object) from a bean in a JSC project?
    Any suggestions very much appreciated. Thank you very much.

  • Ajax4Jsf won't work if I have page fragment component.

    I am trying to use Ajax4jsf on my JSC project. This is bizarre but when ever i have a page fragment component in my page the ajax4jsf stops re-rendering. The code is as following.

    <a4j:commandLink action="#{Page1.setText}" reRender="staticText1" style="left: 240px; top: 240px; position: absolute" value="thif"/>
    <div style="left: 0px; top: 0px; position: absolute">

    </ui:form>
    </ui:body>
    </ui:html>
    </ui:page>
    </f:view>
    </jsp:root>
    If iremove <div>....</div>(which is 7 line from the end) then everything works fine otherwise re-rendering of statictext component stops.

    Hi Sapan
    I am a newbie to AJAX4JSF . I think it provides Rapid Application Development just by using tags like a4j: without the need to develop complex JSF Custom Components as shown in BluePrints Catalog

    And I have a popup in the page fragment is binded to backing bean.
    My SR guy is out today but we plan to enter one.

    Thanks that fixed the problem.
    "a user error"
    Well I followed your book! Chapter 6 of the "Oracle Fusion Developer Guide - Working with Bounded Task Flows in ADF Regions". I think this comes back to book writer error. I found almost no mention of BackingBeanScope in this chapter. Don't you think this would be an important note?
    "did you know that there is a Java API (on the RichPopup instance) to launch a popup ?"
    Yes I posted in my code! If you read the above code you would see it there.
    I don't really understand why the scope of the bean has anything to do with af:showPopupBehavior or AdfPage.PAGE.findComponent.
