JSP With JBoss

Hello friends,
Can anyone please help me how to set-up an environment in JBoss to run JSP files and Servlets. I want to use my own context and docBase location.
Thanks and Regards,
Niranjan

Does it always necessary that we need to create a WAR file.I have been doing it that way. But you could copy the app as a folder also at the same location (default/deploy). But if i remember correctly, JBoss gives some zip related error if you copy folder with name like say, TestABC, since it expects an archive. you might have to copy the folder as TestABC.war (Not a war file, just the folder name ends with ".war"). Try it and let me know :-)
By setting up environment I meant that in case
of Tomcat I was creating my own context by adding
Context specific information to server.xml file. Here
is it possible ?Guess you meant this.
<Host appBase="webapps" name="localhost">
        <Context docBase="tstweb" path="/tstweb" workDir="work\Catalina\localhost\tstweb">
        </Context>
</Host>You could try with the server.xml at "jboss-4.0.2\server\default\deploy\jbossweb-tomcat55.sar". Its the same as the tomcat one. but with very many diff conf indeed.. like;
<Host name="localhost" autoDeploy="false" deployOnStartup="false" deployXML="false">being said that, try NOT to change the server.xml simply because it is SERVER xml and not your application specific. See this for details : http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=45&threadID=643344

  • UploadBean with JBoss Problem

    Dear Experts
    I am currently creating a web page which allows the customers to upload csv file.
    I serached through the net and found that people are using "UploadBean" for this thus I downloaded the uploadbean jar file and imported it to my Jboss library.
    My jsp code is :
    <%String uploadDir = "C:/EVS Temp";%>
    <jsp:useBean id="upBean" scope="page" class="javazoom.upload.UploadBean" >
      <jsp:setProperty name="upBean" property="folderstore" value="<%=uploadDir%>" />
    </jsp:useBean>Followed by a save button.
    But I got the error message like this:
    An error occurred at line: 27 in the jsp file: /meter/meter_uploadMeterList.jsp

    On the Uploadbean Support site, they said uploadbean is not tested with JBoss.

    Any idea for this?
    Thanks alot.

    Drop your ear into JBOSS_HOME\server\defaultJBOSS_HOME\server\default\deploy that is. Also the webapp must have a context root set up so that you can access it through
    http//localhost:8080/myContextRoot/myPage.jsp
    The context root is specified in the application descriptor, for instance something like
    <!DOCTYPE application PUBLIC '-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD J2EE Application 1.3//EN' 'http://java.sun.com/dtd/application_1_3.dtd'>
    <application>
    <display-name>PublicationBase2EAR</display-name>
    <description>Application description</description>
    <module>
    <web>
    <web-uri>war-ic.war</web-uri>
    <context-root>PubAdmin</context-root>
    </web>
    </module>
    <module>
    <ejb>ejb-jar-ic.jar</ejb>
    </module>
    </application>
    Hope this helps,

  • JWSDP with JBoss

    Does JBoss support JWSDP (JAXP-RPC, WDSL, etc.)?

    Hi,
    JBOSS is only the EJB engine who are using.
    JWSDP depends on the servlet/jsp engine you'll switch infront of JBOSS.
    So if you can successfully connect JWSDP (--> Tomcat4.10) with JBOSS - what I guess is possible - you can use JBOSS with JWSDP.
    We are using JWSDP for example with BES5.1.

  • Error while running JSP with custom tag

    I am trying to run a jsp with a tag and I am getting the following error when I run the jsp:
    "Unable to open taglibrary /WEB-INF/jsp/mytaglib.tld : Parse Error in the tag library descriptor: External parameter entity "%(DOCTYPE);" has characters after markup."
    I have no idea what this is, can anyone help me here?
    tx
    -AB

    Its difficult to tell without looking at your TLD file i.e. mytaglib.tld
    However, a guess is that you may be refering to an invalid or otherwise corrupted DTD from your TLD.
    Check that out.
    The official DTD for TLDs in JSP 1.1 is http://java.sun.com/j2ee/dtds/web-jsptaglibrary_1_1.dtd
    and the official DTD for TLDs in JSP 1.2 is http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-jsptaglibrary_1_2.dtd

    Atlast it worked. The problem was that in my ejb-jar.xml I was referring to 2_0.dtd. I have changed that to 2.1 and it worked.
    Older ejb-jar.xml had:
    <!DOCTYPE ejb-jar PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans 2.0//EN" "C:/jboss-4.0.1sp1/docs/dtd/ejb-jar_2_0.dtd">
    I changed that to:
    <ejb-jar xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" version="2.1" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/ejb-jar_2_1.xsd">
    And it worked.

  • Problem in Blazeds with Jboss Clustering ( Mod_JK with SSL )

    Hi,
         We are running our flex application in jboss clustering environment with the help of Apache mod_jk(Apache Web server as front end with mod_ssl enabled). We are using the SecureAMFChannel as we deploy the application in SSL. We use the RemoteObject for communicating with Java.
    The Application is running fine when we have only one node of JBoss. But once we add one more node to the cluster the application throws the following exception .
    Duplicate HTTP-based FlexSession error: A request for FlexClient 'FDCA49A7-9317-4D8A-881F-9248B1136E7A' arrived over a new FlexSession 'C9C563B8266A03C2207C00796CD7DFF1', but FlexClient is already associated with  FlexSession '8A328320F5C530D55E94568996A1B552', therefore it cannot be associated with the new session.
    As I am maintaing the session in the server, I need to use the JBoss cluster for session replication. I heard that flex clustering is not needed as we have mod_jk and it will do all the stuff for us.
    I checked with simple application without any session data also then too I faced the same problem.
    After the very first login, I can see 2 session created simultaneously and destroyed. I checked the application whether it calls twice before the session is created, but it is calling only once.
    Also when application connects with server2 and if I down the server2 my flex application throws the error that the server is not found, It is not detecting the other server.But it works once I refresh the browser.
    Application Environment Details
    JBoss 6
    Blaze Ds 4.5
    Apache Web server 2.2.21
    Mod_JK   1.2.32
    Mod_SSL 2.8.31
    Thanks,
    Suresh T
    I enabled the sticky session in Mod_jk .
    It is working when the connection is not secure(http) in both apache web server and jboss web server ). But when the connection is https the above problem is happening .

    I don't know if this is the answer or not, but at least worth a try.
    A few years ago, JBoss was VERY unforgiving if installed on a windows machine with a space in the path. Most JBoss functionality would work fine, but in some situations, it would complain about the URL, just as it has in your case. It looks to me as if you do have a space in your path. I don't know if they ever got around to fixing it (I filed the original bug on the JBoss bug system). It's at least worth a try, or at least a search through the JBoss site to see if this issue still exists.

    1)how to link BPM human task with my custom jsp (Requester jsp).
    2)how my custom jsp data(Requester data) will be stored in workflow engine and how the same data will be visible to the next custom jsp(Reviewer jsp).

    you forgot to add the usage dependency in the DC metadata section in your DC, you have to add the XSS~utils and fpm as a used DC's as part of your DC, try to add those, if you already done that, so check where missed the adding of used webdynpro components in any of the VAC's or FC's,

  • Creating SSL certificate and configuring it with JBOSS 4.0.1

    I have to post some data to a secured site from my application.
    For this, I am creating connection to that site using URLConnection and to send data I create OutputStream using the connection.
    But, while creating the stream it is showing SSLException and message is No trusted certificate found.
    For this, I need to create SSL certificate (mostly using keytool command) and configure it with my application server which is JBOSS 4.0.1
    Now, my problem is that I don't know the exact steps to create a certificate and configure it with JBOSS. Please provide the steps in detail.

    I think you have this back to front. Unless this exception came from the server, in which case it is misconfigured, you don't have to create a certificate, you have to import the server's certificate, or that of one of its signers, into the client's truststore, and tell Java where the truststore is if it's in a non-standard location.
    See http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/security/jsse/JSSERefGuide.html. You'll have to ask about the JBoss part in a JBoss forum.

  • BlazeDS clustering with JBoss AS

    Greetings,
    I'm currently working on a system that uses Adobe Flex 3 and BlazeDS. It works fine in the actual TomCat standalone server, but we got plans to upgrade our infrastructure to a cluster environment running JBoss AS.
    I got really concern when I begin to read many articles and forum posts about BlazeDS issues with clustering.
    Is this a risk to my project ? Should I quit using BlazeDS ?
    Thanks is advance,

    Hi Mauricio,
    I installed OCMS in JBOSS AS 4.0.5.GA installation mode.I m facing the same problem on ocms startup, i.e., proxyregistrar war file is not deployed properly. OCMS not working properly with JBOSS AS 4.2.1 GA and JBOSS AS 4.2.2 GA too i.e., OCMS MBeans are not shown in the jmx-console page and the oc is not getting connected to the ocms, traffic.log file shows that application proxyregistrar is not found. Please help me out in solving this issue.

    Harini Dhanasekaran.
