  • In the latest iOS updates, did Apple change the way Airplay communicate with other devices through Wifi?

    Short :
In the latest iOS updates, did Apple change the way Airplay communicate with other devices through Wifi?
    Detailed:
We had a glitch with our Apple TV 3A 3-4 weeks ago and had to factory reset it (we reconfigured it with the exact same configuration than before the crash), it's now running iOS 7.0.2, I can't saw which version it ran before the problem though.
It's used in a business environment with 30+ iPads 2, half of them are updated to 8.1.1 and the other half to 8.1.2. We use the latest iTunes version.
Before the glitch that required a reset, all the iPads were detecting and mirroring when needed to the Apple TV, but now the iPads don't see the Apple TV in their list of Airplay devices anymore (but they detect various other devices inside our network).
I have to add that our Apple TV is able to navigate the movie store correctly, so I assume that it's not an internet restriction issue from our end (also, the APple TV do not see either any of the many iPads on its device-detection screen.
We successfully connected an iPhone 5S and an iPhone 6 through P2P Airplay, so it's not the issue, but when we connected the iPhones to our Wifi network (Same as all the other devices are using) the Apple TV suddenly disappeared from the choices.
Hence the reason why I inquire to the possibility that some changes were made in one of the latest iOS revisions, if so, we would require some details so we can adjust our Wifi configuration accordingly to allow the proper detection of devices.
P.S. I tried the basic troubleshooting of Airplay problems with no avail. Airplay button is displaying on the control panel, Airplay do not show the Apple TV at all (so it's not either the trick to display the Mirroring button), we also already proceeded to the suggested devices reboots, so my issue is quite more complex I believe.
    Thanks in advance.

I Have the same issue on a brand new iPad mini 2. My battery is only lasting up to 5 hours. I went on chat with Apple last night and they said my battery is fine and its a Safari issue. I'm literally losing 1% every 3-4 minutes. I tried recalibrating my battery, signing out of iCloud, shutting off all locations, turning off background app refresh, restoring network settings, restoring all, and finally restoring from iTunes with no luck. This is just awful. I got this iPad so I could use it on my long flight for a trip I have coming up, and unfortunately, it's not going to last that long, plus I'm concerned about how many times i will be recharging my battery because of this since battery's do have a life cycle dependent on the number of charges. This is frustrating and needs to be fixed ASAP and addressed by Apple.
By the way, Apple told me to bring my device to the Apple Store because it's still under warranty. That's great and all, but I'm going to waste my time if there is no fix for this issue.
Ok so you want Apple to address the problem, but yet you don't want to take it to them just in case they can't fix it? What if they can fix it? Complaining here certainly won't fix it.

  • Communicate with a USB port, DLL in Visual Basic, program in LabVIEW

    Hello !
I have to write a program in LabVIEW (I'm a novice in this language) to communicate with an interferometer via an USB port. The drivers and DLL for the USB port are written in Visual Basic.
-I don't know if it's possible to use them just so, or if I need to adapt them to LabVIEW.
-And how to do to call a particular function of my DLL ?
    Thank you for your answer...

    - When we are logging in to Oracle cloud on browser and execute the Oracle cloud RESTful service in another tab of same browser, we are able to get the result. But when executed the same RESTful service from a different browser or java program we get internal server error.
    - After investigation, we found that when user logs in to oracle database cloud, a cookie is set in browser with name s “OAMAuthnCookie_cstest-domo.db.us1.oraclecloudapps.com:443” and value as some random token. This cookie is passed in the subsequent requests to the RESTful Service calls when using same browser and as a result, we are able to get the results
    - In the Java program, we copied the same cookie with random token in the HTTP Request header and we got the proper response from REST APIs.
    - It seems that this cookie is created by an Oracle Middleware tool/server called as OAM – Oracle Accounts Manager, which sends the authentication token after successful authentication and creates the cookie.
    - We found that the cookie that OAM creates on authentication is exactly in the same format i.e. ‘OAMAuthnCookie_cstest-domo.db.us1.oraclecloudapps.com:443’. So, we are guessing that Oracle cloud uses OAM for authentication. Please refer to following link for same : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e15478/sso.htm
    Can anyone please suggest:
    1.     How to provide authentication to Oracle Cloud REST APIs from java program?
    2.     How to pass the username and password in Java code to OAM (or how to communicate with OAM using Java) so that we can receive the unique token from OAM. We can use the token in the further requests? 3.     Also in Oracle cloud white papers , it is mentioned that they support OAuth2.0. But we didn’t find any URLs for same. Can anyone please confirm?

  • Has anyone done any control of an ABB robot with labview and robotstudio?

I am busy with a piece of test equipment where I need to read data from and send position commands to a ABB robot. This robot uses their new IRC5 controller. I have got their OPC server but I am having difficulty in getting it to respond to the commands I am sending via OPC. I was hoping someone has done this before and can perhaps assist me in getting going.

    Hi,
I'm trying the solution like your, but communication with  ABB.Robotics.Controllers.dll (. NET) and convert between C# to LabVIEW,
it was success but i'm not fisnish yet to send position or command to the controller because some class not a public constructors.
any update please let me know.
    Thank you.

  • Can I communicate with two different FP 1000 modules through one labview program at the same time

I am wondering could you communicate with two seperate FP 1000 modules with one labview program, using a tab control, with page 1 of the tab communicating with one FP 1000 through com port 1 and page 2 of the tab control communicating with another FP 1000 module through com port 4, using different iak files for both. Can I do it through using those wireless modems supplied by National Instruments. Sorry I dont have a name for them.

    Noely,
Within a single IAK file, you can have multiple FieldPoint modules on separate COM ports. There is no need to use separate IAKs for the program you are describing. Actually, older versions of NI-FieldPoint do not support having multiple IAKs in use simultaneously (I am not sure whether it is currently supported).
As for the Radio Modems, they are called SRM-6000s and can be used simultaneouslyon different serial ports. Although, using the SRM-6000 in a single master multi slave arrangement, you could use a single serial port to talk to both FP-1000s (3 SRMs total). You will need to configure the FP-1000s to have separate addresses (DIP Switch setting).

  • Trying to get VI to communicate with Galil 1842: DLL????

Hello everyone, I am very new to LabView and to programming in general but I am trying to piece together a cyclic tensile bioreactor to test some bladder cells for my Bioengineering research. I am using a thin beam load cell to feedback through LV to control the motion of a Hyadon Linear actuator (stepper motor). We already have a motion control setup in another lab using a geko micro stepper drive through a galil ICM 2900 board into the Galil 1842 card. I already have the VI written to control direction and step conditions but don't really know how to make it communicate to the motor through the galil stuff. The VI we were using before was simply for strain. It seems to use some .dll libraries but i dont understand how they are connected into the VI, or how the VI controls them since i don't see any wires going to them really. Could someone explain to me how the .dll stuff works and how LV uses it to communicate to the galil software. Here are some screen shots if that would help.
here is the hierarchy for the strain VI

    Hi Bfleish,
The Call Library Function node in LabVIEW simply functions to call into a DLL.  The required inputs and outputs depend on the construction of the DLL.  You can double click the Call Library Function node and a dialog box will open.  You wil be able to see the different functions and methods that are being called into and what the expected input and return values are.  The best way to understand how LabVIEW should interact with a DLL is to use the Call Library Function node dialog box to explore the different functions etc. that are available to LabVIEW from the DLL.

  • Labview with industrial robot connection

    Hi,
I am in the field of industrial Robots Automation and I am impressed with Labview. So I am plannig to use this as HMI for our industrial robots. Can you please tell me is it possible to connect labview with ABB, Commau, Motoman, Fanuc and KUKA. If yes can you please send me the details.
I saw a third party software called imagin lab but they are doing only for kuka, denso and mistibushi.
    Thank you

You've listed 5 different robot types, and while I'm sure that if those robots are able to communicate with any outside resource they'll be able to do so with LabVIEW; they are five different types of robots and will probably require different LabVIEW solutions for each.
The robot model and the specifics of exactly what type of communication you're looking for are also required to know "how to do it."
A couple of quick searches tell me that OPC may be required for some of the robot types you listed.   A good place to start with that is here: http://www.ni.com/opc/
Without the specific details it will be difficult to locate an existing solution.
If a custom solution is required, you may be able to find some assistance creating one on the forums.  But again, details will be requried.

  • How can I have each pass through a for loop communicate with a new indicator?

    Hello,
I am using 16 color boxes to indicate how 16 channels are behaving.  If a color box is blue, its respective channel is running correctly, red means it has failed etc.  I am continuously checking each channel using a loop, and I wanted to update the channel colors every loop.  I have made an array of 16 numbers corresponding to the color I wish to have (which are blue = running, red = failed, green = completed, black = not in use).  However, I cannot find a way to pull these 16 numbers out of the array and to the color boxes short of 16 index arrays connected to the color boxes.
I understand how to convert each individual number to a color, I just don't know how to use a 16 times for loop to communicate with a different color box each pass through.  Is there any way to do this or should I just go for brute force?
    Thank you.
    Solved!

Sorry I keep making new posts.  Attached is an example i wrote up.  There are three cases in the disabled structure, each has a different implementation of what i belive your specs are.

  • Communicate a PC with GPRS module through TCP/IP

I want to exchange data between a PC and a GPRS module.
One problem i have is that my PC is on a local network and the IP my computer has, is the local IP. The server has a different IP through we connect to the internet. Which IP I must use and how?
I know almost nothing about TCP/IP (i have use the Labview TCP/IP functions successfully at our local network) and i would like to ask for informations. I know it is a little irrelevant with Labview, but as there are many users who uses GPRS modules, i would like informations about how to connect a GPRS module through TCP/IP. Simple examples will be the best.
Any informations, links, recommended books, will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Thanks for answering Rolf.
To be more clear : i have a GSM/GPRS module (like the well known Wavecom's modules (or Falcom, Telit...)). They accept AT commands and they have a D-sub-9 serial connector. They connect to serial port of the PC. I want to connect to the internet with TCP/IP (by sending AT commands). But i can not find any manual..! The module have some commands for TCP/IP but no explanation or examples. Those modems have no drivers, they accept only AT commands.
For example i have to set APN and IP Address which i don't understant what i should write to. It is independant of Labview but i do not know where to look for information.
If someone knows anything similar please reply.
In that case what I wrote applies fully to you. You do not want to communicate with the modem from LabVIEW itself. You want to use TCP/IP and that means using the Windows socket library that the LabVIEW TCP/IP functions access. The modem then needs to be installed in the Windows system as a dialup adapter. There is really no other way to use a modem, GPRS or not, as TCP/IP communication path. Trying to implement TCP/IP,SLIP/PPP and all that in LabVIEW would be a many man year project with lots of problems and the likely chance that it will never fully work.
So get your modem to work under Windows so that you can use your browser to view some internet pages and once that works you can also use the LabVIEW TCP/IP functions to communicate with whatever is there.
Direct communication to the modem through AT commands would only make sense if you wanted to access the SMS facilities in that modem instead. Even that is not exactly trivial as I can attest to, especially if you want to make it work with more than one GSM modem type.
Your modem manufacturer should be able to give you the necessary modem initialisation string to put your modem into the right GPRS mode and your mobile phone network provider should be able to tell you the dialing number to fill in the dialup configuration. No need to do anything else!
As Wiebe explained rasdial.exe would then make it possible to connect to the internet under LabVIEW control.
All in all it's doable but I have spent many hours to get it working last time I did. A few of those were spent waiting on the line for the support persons of the mobile network provider to answer my calls and then playing the ping pong game to get a person that actually knows what a computer is and that it's actually possible to connect a modem to it to use their services.

  • How to communicate with third party bluetooth device using LAbVIEW

    Hi
I am trying to communicate with a third party bluetooth device using LabVIEW, I am using a bluetooth dongle. I am able to discover the device and able to open the connection by specifying the service as serial port. But after that when I am trying to read and write data between LabVIEW and the bluetooth device (using Bluetooth Read & Bluetooth Write functions) its not happening.
Dose anybody faced same kind of issue if so kindly guide me, this is first time I am using Blutooth protocol.
    Regards
    Visuman

    Hi,
I am able to talk with bluetooth / serial devices by using Labview protocol (not Wii dll). These are steps:
Discover the bluetooth device in range (Bluetooth dicover.vi)
Get the address of the device
Pass device address to Bluetooth RFCOMM Service Discovery.vi to get service list
Pass channel and uuid to Bluetooth open connection
After that do write and read (Bluetooth Write / Bluetooth read).
I hope it works for you.
    Take care

  • How to communicate with HID USB device under windows XP with Labview

I have designed a EZ-USB FX2 device and I need to communicate with LabVIEW. I mean I just want to send and receive data. I don’t know how to achieve this goal.Someone have advised me to design a HID device, then use VISA Driver Development Wizards to generate driver(inf file).SO I defined it to a hid device .However when I connect my hid device to the computer, it will automatically be recognized as HID compliance device. I can’t to install the inf file driver. I wondered whether all HID devices will be acquiescently installed the drivers contained in the windows rather than use the inf file driver generated by VISA Driver Development Wizards? If so,what should I do next to communicate with HID USB device under windows XP with Labview? HOPE TO GET HELP!

    Hi,
I am working on a project using PIC18F4550 MCU and USB.
I would need to send and receive data from the MCU thru USB. I have uninstaled the HID and created a new NI-VISA driver for my MCU. this worked fine, and it did showed up in MAX
Unfortunately I was not able to receive data from the MCU, Just sending!
I thought to use HID.DLL but the way I need to use the functions inside the HID DLL is simply too much for me, I am not a PC programmer.
There is any kind of VI that is able to use HID.DLL to comunicate with external devices conected to PC thru USB?

  • Labview communicate with other programming language

    Hi,
I'm working on the Brainstem GP 1.0 module. It use C language as program platform. So, I was wondering is there anyway for me to used it in Labview?
    Thanks.

The Brainstem is not capable of running LabVIEW (obviously).
LabVIEW code (VI's) cannot be run on the Brainstem, since the runtime engine
    won't run on it.
You could buy the LabVIEW Microprocessor SDK and try to compile it's C code
to the Brainstem. But it will be expensive (license fee and long development
    time).
Or, you can try to make VI's that add small parts of C or assembler code to
a string, and compile that. Much like how mindstorms does it...
You can also work with the compiled C code running on the Brainstem, for
    instance through a serial port.
For hardware needed to communicate with it, I'd suggest a serial cable. It
is used to program it, so it should be able to communicate over it. This is
    not really LV related though.
    Regards,
    Wiebe.
