JSPX requestScope/sessionScope/applicationScope Error

Dear Jdeveloper Experts,
I am currently using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0.4157, and new to Oracle ADF. I did some research in OTN and know that the following error come from Oracle pragma thing ? I appreciate your help to resolve the following error:
My backing view class :
public class MissionSearch {
(getter and setter default codes of ADF Core components ....)
My backing view class defined in faces_config.xml:
<managed-bean>
<managed-bean-name>backing_app_Common_MissionSearch</managed-bean-name>
<managed-bean-class>tomis2.menus.navigation.view.backing.app.Common.MissionSearch</managed-bean-class>
<managed-bean-scope>request</managed-bean-scope>
<!--oracle-jdev-comment:managed-bean-jsp-link:1app/Common/MissionSearch.jspx-->
</managed-bean>
and so on..........
My jspx page ADF Faces example:
#{binding.argMctry.inputValue} from Data Control (table search using parameters)
<af:selectInputText value="#{bindings.argMctry.inputValue}"
label="Country/Org"
columns="30"
binding="#{backing_app_Common_MissionSearch.ctryIn}"
id="ctryIn" windowHeight="600"
windowWidth="350"
returnListener="# {backing_app_Common_MissionSearch.handleCtry}"
action="dialog:openMCtry"/>
and so on......
When testing page using OC4J (local) I encountered the following error:
500 Internal Server Error
javax.faces.el.PropertyNotFoundException: Error testing property 'inputValue' in bean of type null at com.sun.faces.el.PropertyResolverImpl.isReadOnly(PropertyResolverImpl.java:274) at oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.model.FacesPropertyResolver.isReadOnly(FacesPropertyResolver.java:124) at com.sun.faces.el.impl.ArraySuffix.isReadOnly(ArraySuffix.java:236)
and so on..........
Thank you very much for your help.

You have to check out your page definition. Either the attribute you are referencing does not exist in the page definition or there nay exist a miss-spelling. If this is your only VO attribute. If there exist more, you have to check them all, since the problem may originate from another attribute.

  • [Workaround] Calling BPEL process from jspx causes DCA-40012 error on AS

    Hi!
    I've created a DataControl for my BPEL process in my application (ADF BC 10.1.3.3).
    I've created command button on my jspx page that has ActionListener binded to a backing bean method that calls commit and than my BPEL process through the bindings.
    The process consists of reading some DB data, creating XML message and saving it to disk.
    If I run my application from JDeveloper, everything is working fine, the file is written to desired folder. But after I deploy my application to AS 10.1.3.3 and try to call the same process, it doesn't get executed. I see this error in log files:

    I read about bug 5878326 and tried applying the patch Patch for 6404865(Base bug 5878326) in my JDeveloper (on my local machine, not on AS, since there is no JDev on the server).
    But this patch doesn't solve my problems. Is there another patch for this or this behavior isn't the same as in bug 5878326?
    Thanks, BB.

    Hi BB,
    It's Phil again.
    Thanks for the follow up, especially you aren't working on this subject any more. This is indeed a bug in 10.1.3.3, but not on 10.1.3.1 Application Server. Embedded OC4J server in JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 doesn't produce this error at all. Patch for 5878326 does NOT solve this issue.
    However, I have found a walk-around for this issue. Most if it has already being documented.
    Oracle recommend two options to access a Web Service, by creating a Web Service Data Control or a Web Service Proxy.
    See more info: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/1013/wsadf/adfcomplexwstypes.html?_template=/ocom/print
    Both approaches work on JDeveloper 10.1.3.3, but the prior option will fail on App Server 10.1.3.3 due to the bug being discussed in this thread.
    For the time being, we can opt for the second option. A quick example is provided below.
    - Construct a Web Service Proxy by right-click on chosen project, select New ... | Business Tier -> Web Services | Web Service Proxy, provide WSDL URL and complete the wizard. a Web Service Proxy is generated for you at (your package).proxy under Application Sources folder.
    - Select this proxy, switch to Struture view, you will see a list of classes contained in the proxy. Look for a class with name (Web Service Name)Client.java. In my case, it is called __soap_getCustomerDB_getCustomerDB_pttClient.java. This class is of particular interest to you, as it provides an interface to invoke Web Service calls, in this case, getCustomerDBSelect_id(GetCustomerDBSelect_id id).
    - Now create a new class, which you may extend from the example class below.
    /********************** CODE BEGIN *********************************/
    package oracle.srdemo.datamodel;
    import java.rmi.RemoteException;
    import oracle.srdemo.datamodel.proxy.__soap_getCustomerDB_getCustomerDB_pttClient;
    import oracle.srdemo.datamodel.proxy.types.com.oracle.xmlns.pcbpel.adapter.db.top.getcustomerdb.GetCustomerDBSelect_id;
    import oracle.srdemo.datamodel.proxy.types.com.oracle.xmlns.pcbpel.adapter.db.top.getcustomerdb.CustomerCollection;
    public class WsCustomer {
    __soap_getCustomerDB_getCustomerDB_pttClient myPort = null;
    public WsCustomer() {
    try {
    myPort = new __soap_getCustomerDB_getCustomerDB_pttClient();
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    * @param customerId
    * @return
    public CustomerCollection getCustomer(int customerId) throws RemoteException {
    GetCustomerDBSelect_id id = new GetCustomerDBSelect_id();
    id.setId(String.valueOf(customerId));
    return myPort.getCustomerDBSelect_id(id);
    /********************** CODE FINISH *********************************/
    - Save the class, rebuild the project.
    - Right-click on this class and select 'Create Data Control'. You should find a new Data Control named (Your Class Name)DataControl is generated on Data Control Palette.
    - You can drag-and-drop available methods from the data control onto you jspx page, rebuild and test it on embedded OC4J Server.
    - Deploy the ear or war file on App Server.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Phil

  • Error calling Method on Managed Bean from another Managed Bean

    Hi
    (Jdev 11.1.1.2.0)
    Help please:
    I have a managed bean (page flow scope) which is used by my main page for dynamic region flow navigation:
    *public class RegionNavigationBean implements Serializable{*+
    private String dynamicTaskFlowId = "/WEB-INF/home-task-flow-definition.xml#home-task-flow-definition";+
    *public RegionNavigationBean() {*+
    *public TaskFlowId getDynamicTaskFlowId() {*+
    return TaskFlowId.parse(dynamicTaskFlowId);+
    *public void setDynamicTaskFlowId(String taskFlowId) {*+
    this.dynamicTaskFlowId = taskFlowId;+
    taskFlowId property on main page def is set to +*${pageFlowScope.regionNavigationBean.dynamicTaskFlowId}*+
    In a DB table (i.e. View Object on my model layer) I store a menu ID and a corresponding task_flow_id.
    Then I have created an action listener class (RegionNavigationListener - page flow scope) which I link to my menu items on my main page (action listener property on menu item = +*#{pageFlowScope.regionNavigationAction.processAction}*+ )
    In this action listener (processAction method), I retrieve the row set from the menu VO and find the record which matches my menu ID which caused the action event, thereby retrieving the task_flow_id which must be navigated to.
    I then try to retrieve the instance of the RegionNavigationBean with the following statement: RegionNavigationBean regNav = (RegionNavigationBean)JSFUtils.getManagedBeanValue("regionNavigationBean");+
    This seems to work fine, but as soon as I try and use this I get NullPointerException error, e.g.:
    regNav.setDynamicTaskFlowId(menusRow.gettaskFlowId());+
    or even:
    System.out.println("%%% " + regNav.toString());+
    This is all quite new to me... any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks
    Mario

    Hi Mario,
    I think JSFUtils.getManagedBeanValue(String) has difficult to evaluate the "regionNavigationBean" managed bean.
    What JSFUtils.getManagedBeanValue(String) do is important. I remember that "JSF scoped" bean can be found by JSF style find method, such as requestScope, sessionScope, applicationScope. For a managed bean put in these scope, scope prefix is not needed, for example: using #{beanName} to locate a requestScope bean. The #{requestScope} prefix is not needed.
    But pageFlowScope is different. If a bean is put in the pageFlowScope, you must use #{pageFlowScope.beanName} to locate it.
    Say, ManagedBean is the java class of your manged bean.
    FacesContext ctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    Application app = ctx.getApplication();
    ManagedBean mb = (ManagedBean)app.evaluateExpressionGet(ctx, "#{pageFlowScope.managedBeanName}", ManagedBean.class);
    Hope it helps.

  • Af:serverListener on jspx page - compilation error - jDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0

    I have a weird problem that adding a serverListerner component on jspx page causes compilation error:
    The class of the deferred-methods return type "{0}" can not be found.
    No property editor found for the bean "javax.el.MethodExpression"
    If I remove serverListener (to pass compilation) and then add it again in run-time, it works normally (the backing bean method is being triggered correctly, including passing params, etc).
    It is happening only on the current project, but when I make a test case it works normally. I suspect it has something with the project settings, but I couldn't find the cause regarding that the project has advanced and there are so many differences to be able to do simple comparison.
    Does anyone know what could be the reason for af:serverListener to break compilation, please?
    ... from jspx page...
    <af:resource type="javascript">
    function aaa(event) {
    var esrc = event.getSource();
    AdfCustomEvent.queue(esrc, "bbb", {fvalue : "TEST"},true);
    event.cancel();
    </af:resource>
    <af:inputText label="Label 1" id="it1">
    <af:clientListener method="aaa" type="click"/>
    <af:serverListener type="bbb" method="#{backing_bean.onClick}"/>
    </af:inputText>
    ... from BB ...
    public void onClick(ClientEvent clientEvent) {
    String message = (String) clientEvent.getParameters().get("fvalue");
    System.out.println(message);
    }

    Hi,
    Try like this
    <trh:script>clientListenerMethoName= function(event) {
    var source = event.getSource();
    AdfCustomEvent.queue( source, "serVerListenerType", {}, false); }
    </trh:script>
    Next :
    <af:clientListener method="clientListenerMethoName" type="click"/>
    <af:serverListener type="serVerListenerType" method="#{beanName.methodName}"/>

    I tried moving this jar inside my war module, but problem still occures.
    However, if I removed the jar "commons-loging.jar" from "OracleAS_1\webservices\lib", everything works fine!
    Any ideas how to solve this problem??

    Hi, Shirleen, I have recently uploaded a new version of the sample mobile application to Oracle Technology Network that would work with the latest/current version of JDeveloper (11.1.1.1.0). Please try to download it at http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/wireless/adf_mobile.html.
    Also, from the error message I am unable to see anything specific that could help, but I would just make sure that you have FOD schema already downloaded and installed, and have configured the database connection in the sample application to point to the database running the FOD schema.
    Thanks,

  • What syntax should be used in jspx for img src= c:out value="${}" /

    Dear Friend If I query in a database and the database return a url and with this url  I like to generate an image in jspx.

  • TP4 - panelHeader, facet toolbar, error in all-11-otn4.js

    Hi,
    I have af:panelHeader and inside facet toolbar I have af:commandLink component.
    Inside af:panelHeader is af:table. Rendered jspx page show me error in all-11-otn4.js x25.getComponent() has no properies.
    The same page works fine in TP3.
    When I remove link component from toolbar facet the page works without errors.
    Is this bug in TP4?
    Thanks,
    Marko

    If I surround af:commandLink in toolbar facet with Panel Group Layout page works fine. In TP3 facets works fine without layout components inside facet.
    Why I must surround with layout component if I have only one component inside facet?

  • Use JSTL tags for ATG droplets and beans

    Hi,
    I am trying to display profile values in a JSON object in jsp.
    <dsp:getvalueof var="json" bean="ProfileFormHandler.ProfileJSON"></dsp:getvalueof>
    <c:out value="${json}" />
    but instead of using dsp tag is there a way for accessing ProfileFormHandler using JSTL tag
    Also how can we use droplets in ATG like ForEach using JSTL tags only
    <dsp:droplet name="ForEach">
    <dsp:param name="array" param="catalogItems.rootCategories"/>
    <dsp:param name="elementName" value="categoryItem"/>

    I am trying to display profile values in a JSON object in jsp.
    <dsp:getvalueof var="json" bean="ProfileFormHandler.ProfileJSON"></dsp:getvalueof>
    <c:out value="${json}" />
    but instead of using dsp tag is there a way for accessing ProfileFormHandler using JSTL tagIn the <dsp:importbean> use var to give an EL variable name to the component you are importing.You can also set its scope attribute to page, request, session, or application with page scope being the default. You can then access it as a page scoped attribute. So this should do:
    <dsp:importbean var="profileFormHandler" bean="/atg/userprofiling/ProfileFormHandler" />
    <c:out value="${pageScope.profileFormHandler.ProfileJSON}" />In case you change the scope in importbean you can accordingly use pageScope, requestScope, sessionScope or applicationScope.
    Also how can we use droplets in ATG like ForEach using JSTL tags only
    <dsp:droplet name="ForEach">
    <dsp:param name="array" param="catalogItems.rootCategories"/>
    <dsp:param name="elementName" value="categoryItem"/>Any ATG droplet is nothing but a servlet which is also a Nucleus component. So essentially you want to call a servlet from JSTL which as such shouldn't be done in a well written script-less JSP. You can probably try to use the droplet as a bean and use JSTL on top of it but since ATG droplets also have different types of parameters like input, output and open so you will have to specially handle those.

  • GOTCHA's with Setting up ADF Security with JDev 11.1.1.6.0

    If you're getting into ADF security, you're probably going to want to get rid of that ugly default login.html page. I mean, it gets the job done, but we want something a little better. And if you want something a little better and you're using JDev 11.1.1.6.0, it behooves you to read this post!
    First off, get acquainted with these four posts. All good stuff. They'll walk you through the 1st half of what you need to know. Y'know, the non-Gotcha half.

    Are you getting either of the following errors?
    <CodebasePolicyHandler> <migrateDeploymentPolicies> Migration of codebase policy failed. Reason: {0}.
    oracle.security.jps.JpsException: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: oracle.security.jps.internal.core.principals.JpsAnonymousRoleImpl
    Error 500--Internal Server Error
    java.lang.RuntimeException: Cannot find FacesContextI'll show you where they're coming from. Follow along.
    1) Create a new application.
    2) Create three .jspx pages called login, error, and welcome.
    3) Generate PageDef files for them by right-clicking on the file and selecting "Go To PageDefinition". You'll want these so that you may apply security against them.
    4) Right-Click on your Application and select Secure->Configure ADF Security
    5) ADF Authentication and Authorization -> Form Based Authentication (Use the search symbol to select your created login and error pages. Should be something like "/faces/login.jspx") -> No Automatic Grants -> Finish
    Right-Click your welcome.jspx and select run. You'll get this error before your web page opens up in your browser and then proceeds to wig out.
    <CodebasePolicyHandler> <migrateDeploymentPolicies> Migration of codebase policy failed. Reason: {0}.
    oracle.security.jps.JpsException: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: oracle.security.jps.internal.core.principals.JpsAnonymousRoleImplThat just won't do. Let's fix it, shall we?
    6) Open your newly JDev created jazn-data.xml file. It's located in the Application Resources panel (usually located by Data Controls and your Projects expandable panels)
    7) Resource Grants -> Resource Type (Web Page dropdown) -> error page should have a key symbol by it. Delete the anonymous role in the "Granted To" column. Now click the green button to add an Application Role. Huh, there's TWO of them? How bout that? Looks like we're going to have to delete some XML code!
    8) Click the Source tab on the bottom of the page to open up the XML View. You'll see the following piece of erroneous code. Erroneous, I say!
      <policy-store>
        <applications>
          <application>
            <name>SecurityError</name>
            <app-roles>
              // Hello, I'm the app role that has sucked away two hours of your life that you can never, ever get back
              <app-role>
                <name>anonymous-role</name>
                <class>oracle.security.jps.internal.core.principals.JpsAnonymousRoleImpl</class>
                <display-name>anonymous-role</display-name>
              </app-role>
             // Whew, the end of that app role
            </app-roles>
            <jazn-policy>
              <grant>9) You're going to want to delete that app role XML
    10) Go back into your jazn-data.xml file and create some users. For example, bob and jane. Create an Enterprise role called "admin". Put bob and jane as members into this Enterprise role. Create an Application role called managers. Map managers to your Enterprise role admin.
    11) Go back to the Resource Grants tab -> Resource Type (Web Page) and delete any "Granted To" authorizations that may assigned to any of the pages. Assigned a "Granted To" application role of "anonymous-role" to the error and login pages. Assign "managers" to welcome.
    12) Run your welcome page. Yay, the error is gone. How sweet it is.
    Now you want to refactor/move your login and error page somewhere else? Great, just right-click and select factor. Refactor to some place like /public_html/jspx/<your login page>.jspx. Re-run your welcome page.
    // You fool!
    Error 404--Not Found
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.5 404 Not FoundThat's not so good. Let's fix that.
    1) Open up web.xml. It's located at ViewController/WEB-INF/web.xml.
    2) Click the security tab and you'll see Form-Based Authentication with a login page and error page. Click that Search glass and locate your new file. Do the same for the error page. You should see something like "/jspx/login.jspx" come back.
    3) Re-run your welcome page.
    // Suckered AGAIN!
    Error 500--Internal Server Error
    java.lang.RuntimeException: Cannot find FacesContextThis is a tricky one. The search icon brings back a faulty address. Since we're using a .jspx page, it needs to be "/faces/jspx/login.jspx". Repeat for the error page. Re-run your welcome.jspx.
    Ahh!! Now THAT's how we do it in Kingsport!
    Finally, a custom .jspx login works. Now what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be playing some Diablo 3?
    Will

    Ha :-)
    Point being good summaries like yours tend to get lost on the forums because of the volume of posts. With a blog people have the chance to subscribe to your posts so it's just a better vehicle all round for posting content to help others.
    I highly recommend writing blogs even if it's for scratch notes, because you'll learn a lot in structuring your thoughts. It's also a really good way to get noticed in the community because bloggers stand out.

    But, when I ADD A TASK FLOW to the application and deploy to the WLS newly , and try to access to the URL application's ( http:localhost:7001/myApp/faces/index.jspx ) . It show me again :

  • Deploying ADF Application to OC4J Using Jdeveloper

    I tried to deploy an application to standalone OC4J using Jdeveloper, through a process similar to this:
    Deploying a Web Application
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/10131/deployment/deployment.htm
    [making WAR for view-controller, JAR for model, and EAR in a new project]
    First I got some errors relating to Apache Log4J jars (org/apache/log4j/Category). The problems are talked over in this forum and oc4j forum. I had to download apache-log4j-1.2.15.zip and add the jar file manually to the project and remove the checks in the WAR file descriptor.
    The application was deployed after some attempts successfully, but, now the first page that appears after launching the application is my Home.jspx which is not the same page which comes up when I use embedded OC4J to run the application. The Home.jspx is blank and when I enter a link manually:
    http://farbod:8888/TestApp/faces/pages/Employees.jspx
    instead of http://farbod:8888/TestApp/faces/pages/Home.jspx
    I receive this error:
    500 Internal Server Error
    Servlet error: An exception occurred. The current application deployment descriptors do not allow for including it in this response. Please consult the application log for details.
    Is there anything wrong with my deployment?
    (I just mentioned my initial problem with deployment to know if that gives a clue.
    I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3, OC4J 10.1.3.3)
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
    hard to say from the error message. What if you create a EAR file that includes the WAR file and then deploy it through Enterprise Manager in OC4J ? Also, having a separate deployment project bears the risk fo missing dependencies. Ensure that the project has the project's dependency property set to all contributing projects
