JSTL class not found in EAR

EAR contains a web application that uses myfaces (1.2) and tiles (2.0).
Tried to use with jstl 1.2 / jsf 1.2 deployed as shared library and to reference it from EAR/web-app but
getting the same exception.
When trying to add the jstl jar manually to the classpath I'm getting a ClassCastException : java.lang.String
originating from the jsp file.
Any ideas ??

Tried adding the following to weblogic-application.xml
     <library-ref>
          <library-name>jstl</library-name>
          <specification-version>1.2</specification-version>
          <exact-match>true</exact-match>

     <prefer-application-packages>
          <package-name>javax.faces.*</package-name>
          <package-name>org.apache.myfaces.*</package-name>
     </prefer-application-packages>
and to weblogic.xml
<prefer-web-inf-classes>true</prefer-web-inf-classes>
but still getting the same
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException - javax.servlet.jsp.jstl.core.Config.

  • Class not found in EAR

    Hi, we are upgrading from WL 8.1 to 10.3 and have a problem locating an application class.
    The class file is in customers.ear\app-inf\lib\framework.jar.
    I know the class file is there because I can browse it and the class will be found if I copy framework.jar to the domain lib folder.
    I know the ear lib foder is being used because I will get different errors if I remove another jar file from the folder as a test.
    Any ideas?
    Here is my config.xml element for this application:
    <app-deployment>
    <name>Customers</name>
    <target>AdminServer</target>
    <module-type>ear</module-type>
    <source-path>config/deployments/Customers.ear</source-path>
    <deployment-order>100</deployment-order>
    <security-dd-model>DDOnly</security-dd-model>
    </app-deployment>

    Modify the classpath so that jar file is added into it, and restart the server. echo out the complete classpath in the log and see if the jar file is present in there.

  • Class not found in web-inf/classes folder of war file within ear file

    Hi all,
              I am using Weblogic 8.1 sp4. I have a war file within an ear file. I am trying to deploy the war file with a few classes within its web-inf/classes folder, however when the classes are in that folder I consistently get a class not found exception when trying to instantiate them. If I package the classes in a jar file and then put that jar file within the web-inf/lib folder of the war, the classes are also not found.
              If I put these two classes in the app-inf/classes folder of the ear file, everything works as expected and the classes are found.
              Any ideas of why this is happening. This seems to be a very simple thing that should work, but appears to not be working at all.
              thanks in advance for any suggestions or ideas.

    Hi,
              This is a known limitation/issue with WL. There is also no way around this.

  • Error in beanshell - class not found in namespace

    We use beanshell to evaluate business rule validations on our application. Below is the calling method...
    private Object callBeanShell(final Object parameters, final String expression)
    throws EvalError {
    if (LogConstants.FINE_ENABLED) {
    logger.log(Level.FINE, "Expression: " + expression);
    beanShell.set("params", parameters);
    Object result = null;
    try {
    result = beanShell.eval(expression);
    } catch (Throwable ex) {
    getErrorHandler().fatalError("Expression: " + expression, ex);
    if (LogConstants.INFO_ENABLED) {
    logger.log(Level.INFO, "Expression: " + expression);
    logger.log(Level.INFO, "Result : " + (result == null ? "null" : result.toString()));
    return result;
    This has been working fine on the application for years, but we've suddenly started getting a problem with evaluations which are called from a SessionBean (via some reflection).
    Every time we try and call a certain set of expressions they fail on a 'class xxx not found in namespace'. This happens both when the expression contains code like:
    com.chubb.euz.SomeClass sc = new com.chubb.euz.SomeClass(); etc...
    or
    import com.chubb.euz.SomeClass; SomeClass sc = new SomeClass(); etc...
    The strange thing is that when I remote debug it & look at the bsh Interpreter what I see is that it's NameSpace object has a table called ImportedClasses on it which before the eval() call contains just bsh.Interpreter and bsh.EvalError but after the eval() it then contains all of the classes I pull in as imports in the expression passed to it, yet it still manages to throw this damn 'class not found in namespace' error!
    It still works whenever else it's called in the app (and this is only happening in our DEV environment). All I can think of now is that it's possibly something to do with the Thread that the beanshell is running on at this time, but that's just a guess as I know bugger all about Threads... I only think this because I can get the thing to work by stopping the processor which was built to run Events (EJB) generated in the app; resetting the Event's Task (regular class) to run again; then restarting the processor (not an option if this goes into PROD with the release!!!)
    Unfortunately, re-factoring the validations we need to run at this point is not really an option, as this is all coming at the tail end of a new release & the amount of code changes & subsequent regression testing required would kill us.
    This is on weblogic 8.1 - with the beanshell jar just embedded in the main application ear (I ran it with bsh.20b4.jar instead of the 1.3 version we were using but that has no effect).
    Any ideas would be more than gratefully appreciated as this is doing my head in!!!

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.
    I am trying to reverse SAP tables. Initially the Reversal process stuck at Set MetaData step. I stopped the session and restarted it then Set MetaData completed successfully but Set FlexFields give the error.
    Any idea?

    Hi Mark,
    I have seen your two posts and there are something you need to notice:
    Where the ClassNotFound exception you got? From deployment tool or
    application server kjs process?
    Of course, you need not to add supporting classes to each ejb jars or ears.
    1. If you use deployment tool to package your application, I'm sure you'll
    fail to resovle your classes without supporting classes added to jars.
    Please select Edit->Preference,in Classpath entry, enter the supporting
    classes(packaged to jar files) location. This should work.
    2. After deploy to ias, please edit the registry using kregedit which you
    described in your posts.

    When I deploy EJBs to the iPlanet app server I find that I need to include
    all supporting classes in each ejb jar file. According to the
    Administrator's manual I should be able to modify the kjs classpath bydoing
    the following:
    On Windows
    a.. Open iPlanet Registry Editor.
    (See About iPlanet Registry Editor)
    b.. Open the following key:
    SOFTWARE\iPlanet\Application Server\6.0\Java\
    c.. Modify the class path and restart the server for the change to take
    effect.
    However, when I add my supporting classes to a jar in this directory Istill
    get a class not found exception when I run the deployment tool.
    Adding the classes to each EJB jar is redundant and introduces lots of
    problems. How should I configure iPlanet so I only need to put my
    supporting classes in one place?
    Thanks,
    Mark

  • Class not found for class generated by autotype when deploy

    I'm getting a ClassNotFoundException when I attempt to deploy a webservice that was originally generated from an XSD.
    1) I create the stubs using "autotype" and the schemaFile attribute. Class files are generated and placed in the location specified by destDir.
    2) I then run source2wsdd to generate the web-services.xml and WSDL files. source2wsdd specified the "javaSource" attribute and points to the java file the WebService is to call.
    I also take all the generated JAVA classes and put it into a JAR file for step 3.
    3) I run wspackage to create the EAR file. For "webAppClasses" I specify the class files that goes with the "javaSource" specified in step 2. I also take the JAR file created in step 2 (which contains all the code generated by step 1) and use "utilJars" to put in the the /lib directory of the war file.
    4) When I deploy, I get a "class not found" for one of the classes that is in the utility jar file I created in step 2. I have verified that the jar file is in the "web-inf/lib" directory.
    What am I not seeing that is causing WebLogic (WLS 8.0 SP2) to not find the class?
    Thanks in advance...

    Bruce: Got it working. (Bad news is I'm not sure what I did to fix it. :-( )
    My service now deploys, but I'm having problems doing a "source2wsdd" from inside
    Eclipse. Found another customer in this group with the same issue, and added my
    info to his message.
    For now I have to run the build outside Eclipse, but at least my service is deployable.
    Thanks for taking the time to reply to my message!

  • Class not found: org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException

    I am deploying an .ear file to an Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2. In one container, it deploys correctly. In another conatiner on the same server and configured identically (or at least I believe), I try to deploy the same .ear file but I get the error:

    Anyone would have an idea why? Thanks in advance.

    Greetings,
    Your error implies that the classpath for the second deployment might be wrong. This cannot be the package if you are deploying an identical ear file. Can you look at the setup for the second container from the admin to see if there is an RMI connection configured incorrectly? Check your opmn.xml file for port info:
    <port id="rmi" range="12401-12500"/>and check the server using netstat -a to see if the configured port is open for use before starting the OAS.

  • Error encountered initializing users and groups ... Class not found.

    Hi,
    I am trying to set up the example provided in Frank Nimphius and Duncan Mills great article about 'Declarative J2EE authentication and authorization with JAAS' (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/10g/jaassec/index.htm) on iAS 10g. My current problem is this : when I try to deploy my test application using an ear file, Enterprise Manager returns the following error message : 'Error encountered initializing users and groups using the specified user manager. User manager class oracle.sample.dbloginmodule.DBTableLM.DBTableLoginModule not found.'. This class is distributed in an archive, DBLoginModule.jar, that I have put in my IASHome/j2ee/home/applib and inside my test application /WEB-INF/lib directories. I have tried putting them in one place at a time, then both, with always the same 'class not found' error as result.
    Am I missing something ?
    Where should I put this archive for it to be seen by the server ?
    Could some mistake in web.xml, jazn-data.xml, orion-web.xml or orion-application.xml cause this error ?

    probably you don't use jre116_v5. Install it and alter all symlinks to the old jre/jdk.
    Note: Don't use any jdk at all or any jre which is newer than jre116_v5!<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
    Thanks for the reply, but, yes, I've already done that.

  • For weeks I have been viewing a doggy day care via their web cam.  This weekend I upgraded to Lion and have been unable to view the center since.  I get an error message for java webcam class not found.  All of my software is up to date--suggestions?

    For weeks I have been viewing a doggy day care center via their web cam.  This weekend I upgraded to Lion and have been unable to view the center.  I get an error message for Java plug-in 1.6.0_29 ....webcam class not found.  Any suggestions on how to fix this?

    Sorry, don't know what else to suggest unless there's a URL to the problem stream that someone here can try. Otherwise we can't test it to try and determine what might be wrong.
    BTW, make sure they're testing it with a Mac, not with a Windows system. If they test only with Windows, what they say is or is not working doesn't mean much.

  • Class Not Found in Server Application

    I have set up a basic server application. It contains three files namely
    Arith.java (implements the Remote interface)
    ArithImpl.java (implements Arith.java the server) and
    ArithApp.java which is the client Application
    All of these are in the same package. I have compiled all of these files and I execute the rmic ArithImpl command from within the ArithImpl.java file via Runtime.getRuntime.exec(...);
    The stub and skeleton files are generated and still I get a class not found exception. I have checked the class path and these files are within the class path.
    If anyone could help me I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks

  • "Java Class not found in classpath" Error in DESIGNER

    Hello All,
    I'm trying to connect in Designer using a JDBC connection to MS SQL Server 2008.  As per the instructions, I updated my jdbc.sbo file with the path to the existing two JAR files.  However, I still get the following error when I try and connect in Designer:  "Java Class not found in classpath : C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\dataAccess\connectionServer\jdbc\Drivers\sqlsrv".  Of course, this error includes the drive path with the location to my JAR files.  Any help in resolving this nagging issue is very GREATLY appreciated.  Also, if anyone needs it I can post a copy of the jdbc.sbo file to this thread.
    Thank you,
    Pankaj

    Stratos,
    Your suggestion didn't help.  I tried to connect after restarting my machine and I still get the error.  And, I've also tried adding a connection to MS SQL Server 2005 using this JDBC driver, and that didn't help either.  Any other suggestions?  Would it help to see my "jdbc.sbo" file?  Thanks again for your and everyone else's help, and I look forward to your reply.
    Regards,
    Pankaj

  • Lookout 6.0.1.: Class Not Found when trying to open project on another PC

    I am using the same version on both PC's, but when I move the file over and run it, I get "Class not found!". Then "Error running process file".When running the lookout source file I get the following:

    C:\Documents and Settings\testing\Desktop\Latest Lookout\lprocess2.lks(676): error: Object is not defined: Meter4
    I have also tried to open on 6.1 with similar results.
    I am familiar with lookout, however I have taken this project over so I am not sure what I need to do from here.

    There are two object (DirectLogic and Meter) that are not present on the amchine you are moving the process to.   If the same version of Lookout, you might be able to just copy the cbx files.
