JSTL - redirections in an imported page

Here are three sample files:
test1.jsp:
<%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/c.tld" prefix="c" %><c:import url="test2.jsp"/>
test2.jsp
<%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/c.tld" prefix="c" %><c:redirect url="test3.jsp"/>
test3.jsp
<html><head><title>Ok</title></head><body>Ok</body></html>If you use your browser to access test1.jsp (I am doing this with Weblogic 7), it successfully imports test2.jsp, but it does not redirect to test3.jsp. However, if you use your browser to directly access test2.jsp, it redirects to test3.jsp without a problem.
Is it not possible to use redirection from within an imported file? Is it that the process of importing commits some data to the response, meaning we can no longer redirect? Is something else going on that I'm missing?
Thanks for any help!

Ok, so it seems that using "import" automatically flushes the buffer before actually doing the importing. Any way to prevent this or get around it?

  • 301 redirects and iWeb index page

    Our site has grown and we will be changing our domain name and hosting co. (We are keeping the old domain active for a while at MME before we change domain name and hosting) I will need to redirect traffic for a while so as not to lose those who have just bookmarked us. Will just redirecting on the index page that iWeb creates (post publish) do that without creating a mess of our page rankings at Google? Currently we are in the top 15 responses for our search terms. Or should i create some other type of redirect? 301? (via cname or htaccess) will that ding me at google? Thanks- try to keep it as simple as possible - I don't code - I experiment and Apple has made it easy.

    What I would do is purchase the hosting and see if you can have more than one add-on domain. Most web hosts let you do this on one account so it doesn't cost you any more money. You are doing this because you will need a .htaccess file to set up your 301 redirects properly. This is what you should do;
    1) Register your new domain and publish your site to it.
    2) Create a webmaster tools account for BOTH your old and new domain name.
    3) Create a 301 redirect for each individual page to the new corresponding page on your new domain. This can be done with a few lines in your .htaccess file. The file should be in your root folder of your OLD domain. Put this on your .htaccess file (NOTE: This assumes you will have the exact same website structure on the new domain);
    RewriteEngine ON
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://mynewdomain.com/$1 \[R=301,L\]
    OPTIONAL: Use Google's canonical tag on each one of your pages to avoid any issues with duplicate content. Link the old page to it's new corresponding page. This is optional but recommended if you can;
    <link rel="canonical" href="http://www.newdomain.com/newpage.html" />
    4) Login to your Webmaster Tools account and select your OLD domain. Then select 'Site Configuration' and then 'change of address'. Follow the steps provided (which are basically what I told you above). Step 4 in there is the important one.
    5) Submit a sitemap for your new website. This will make sure you know when Google has indexed your new website.
    6) Important: Even though you have done everything properly there is a chance your rankings will change. To help prevent this, update as many third party links as you can to your new site. This won't be possible for all links since you won't have control over them but you should try contacting the website owners who have linked to you to update their links. You should also try getting new links to your new domain.
    You can find all the sites you have linked to you by logging into your webmaster tools account and clicking your OLD domain. Then go to 'Your site on the web' and then to 'Links to your site'.
    Nothing will be instant here, it will take a few days for everything to update but the above is the way Google recommends you do it.

  • What di I need on a Mac Mini to import Pages documents from an iPad-mini

    What do I need on my MacMini to import Pages documents from an iPad-mini?

    Plug in your iPad mini to the Mac mini. Open iTunes on the Mac. Select your iPad from the sidebar on the left. At the top, where it says "Summary," etc. choose Apps. Scroll down until you see a section for File Sharing. Find Pages. Select the document on the right. In the bottom right corner, select "Save to..." and choose where on your computer you want to save it.

  • How can i redirect to another JSP page automatically after some event

    I am developing a Tic-Tac-Toe game which can be played between two players who are on two different machines.
    When the first player comes to the Welcome page he will redirected to a Waiting Page when he clicks on the 'Start' button.
    When the second player comes to the Welcome page he will be redirected directly to the Game page, on clicking the 'Start' button.
    So how can i redirect the first player to the Game page after the second player is available for the game.
    And if i want to manage multiple instances of my game how can i do that//
    I am using JSP, javascript and MySQL for developing my project, and I am new to all these tools, but i would still like to carry on with all these only

    This is a bit of a challenge because of the nature of the web. Generally the web is "pull only" meaning that the browser has to initiate any interactions - the server can't push data to the browser if it wasn't asked to.
    The easiest way to solve this is using AJAX via JavaScript to periodically poll the server for any status changes. There are other ways (the Comet protocol is one) but they start to get a bit difficult and are still a bit new and not completely supported in a standards way. And to be honest they are still basically polling though in a more efficient way.
    Are you using a JavaScript framework? Most of the JavaScript frameworks that I've used have built in support for polling in the background. You'd have to have the JSP/servlet side be able to handle these polling requests from the browser and, when another person joins the game, the server indicates that and sends that back to the browser.
    As far as multiple instances I would have the server automatically pair up users as needed. So when the first player arrives he has to wait for another player. When the second player arrives a new game is created for those two players. Now a third player arrives and waits until a fourth player shows up. When player 4 joins another separate game is created. Presumably the conversation between the browser and the server will need to include a "game number" or other unique number so that the server can keep track of the games.

  • Redirecting to the Home Page when clicking on close button of the Item in a list

    Hi all,
    I have a SPD Workflow configured in a site to show a link to the current item view form from the autogenerated mail, so that when a user clicks on the link , it gets redirected to the list item as a Viewform.aspx. on closing t hat the user will be redirected
    to the list and shown the allitems.aspc view of the list. But the user now wants to redirect to the Home page of the site. I have created and deployed the SPD WF using Designer 2010 and deployed to the production. But Now I am fearing that to achieve
    this requirement do I need to change the entire approach of SPD Workflow? If anyone has pointers please share with me.
    Thanks,
    K.V.N.PAVAN

    No, I said to set the Source parameter of the URL to the home page.  You have to do this in order for the browser to know where to send the user upon closing or updating the item.  This is how all redirects work in SharePoint.  If you go browse
    around and click on an item, you will see a Source parameter in the address bar.  The URL that comes after "&Source=" is the URL your browser will be sent to after you click "close."  This is how SharePoint remembers the context of where you
    were.  If you don't provide a Source parameter, then it defaults to the list where the item lives.  That's what you're currently doing, so you need to add a Source parameter to the URL you provide in the workflow email.
    http://sitename/list/DispForm.aspx?ID=[Current item: ID]&Source=http://sitename
    Something like that.

  • Redirect to two separate pages in the same cfform

    I'm a bit of a novice at this.Hoping someone can guide me on how to accomplish this. I have a simple selection list (below). If they user chooses the selection in red I want it to redirect them to a page other than the one in the cfform tag, but I can't figure out how to segregate the options within the cfform from the same list. Thanks in advance.
    <cfform action="index2.cfm" method="POST">
    <table align="center" width="475" border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="0">
    <tbody>
    <tr>
    <td><span class="label">Select Version:</span> </td>
    <td>
      <cfselect name = "UPVersion">
       <option value=""></option>
       <option value="66SP1">6.6 SP1x</option>
       <option value="66SP2">6.6 SP2x</option>
      <option value="701">7.0.1x</option>
      </cfselect>
    </td>
    </tr>
    <input type="hidden" name="gosearch" value="gosearch">
    <input type="hidden" name="Rows" value="50">
    <tr>
    <td colspan="3" align="center"><input type="submit" name="Submit" value="[ search ]"> <input type="reset" name="reset" value="[ clear ]"></td>
    </tr>
    </tbody>
    </table>
    </cfform>

    The sample code I provided is reduced down to show a concept of how I solved the multiple processing based upon user selection criteria.
    Looping throught the FORM.FIELDNAMES was provided as an easy way to capture the fieldnames and their values.
    Process1,cfm and Process2.cfm were used to show 2 different processing pages.  They do not exist and are examples.
    I use this logic on many pages and it works well.
    You are correct that you need to further refine the code using the javascript or URL to pass the form variables.
    <CFLOOP list="#Form.FieldNames#" index="i">
         <CFIF CurrentRow EQ 1>
                                          <CFSET z = "?#i# & "=" & #Evaluate("Form." & "#i#")#">
         <CFElSE>
                                          <CFSET z = #z# &", " & "#i# & "=" & #Evaluate("Form." & "#i#")#">
         </CFIF>
    </CFLOOP>
    <CFIF #Form.X#  EQ 1>
         <CFLOCATION Url = "process1.cfm#z#">
    <CFELSE>
         <CFLOCATION Url = "process2.cfm#z#">
    </CFIF>
    You could also process both functions on one page.
    <CFIF IsDefined("Form.UPVersion") and #Form.UPVersion# EQ "7.0.1x">
         Do special processing
    <CFELSE>
         Do Normal Processing
    </CFIF>

  • Redirecting user to login page after session expiry

    Hi,
    Default session expiry implementation in sap EP6.0 doesn't work properly. To overcome this, we have implemented one component where we check the idle time and throw the user back to the login page if the idle time has exceeded the session expiry period. This component has been added to desktop inner page as an iView. Following is the logic put in this component.
    IAuthentication ia = UMFactory.getAuthenticator();
    ia.logout(httpRequest, httpResponse);
    httpResponse.sendRedirect("/irj/portal");
    We are successfully getting the login page after session expiry. Issue is, our portal server is running on 11111 port. We cannot change this to 80 on unix because of unix limitations for the port number. So we have put one apache web server before our portal server. Apache web server is listening on port 80 and forwarding the request to our portal server.
    Now when user is redirected to the login page, url being shown in the browser is http://<host_name>:11111/irj/portal but I am expecting http://<host_name>/irj/portal (without port). I have tried putting the full url in sendRedirect() method but that too doesn't work.
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Chandra

    Hi Chandra,
    Let the URL be relative in the sendRedirect i.e.
    httpResponse.sendRedirect("/irj/portal");
    However since you have a Reverse proxy in front, the response header for redirect will not contain the address of the reverse proxy in this case, your servername without port. You have to properly configure your reverse proxy so that the HTTP Headers are changed properly before sending the response to the users.
    Check this URL,
    http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/mod/mod_proxy.html#proxypassreverse
    This gives you the details on configuring your apache.
    Hope this helps.

  • On a form w Validation, how to redirect to a custom page

    Hi. I have created a form in Dreamweaver CS5 that uses spry validation successfully. Once the form is submitted, the user is redirected to the home page. But I don't want that redirect.
    My question is, how can I have the validated page redirect to a custom thank you page I designed? I don't know the exact code/syntax to write to make it do what I want and, even if I had the code, I wouldn't know exactly where it should be placed. Please help if you can. Here's the source code. )BTW, when I use Dreamweaver Behaviors to add a URL redirect, it ignores the required validation and simply allows you to click the submit button and redirect.) Many thanks!

    Thanks for replying. The  URL you've bolded is actually the correct page I'd like the redirect to go to when the form is successfully submitted after validation. But for some reason, that URL request is being ignored and the redirect brings me back to the index page in the root directory. I don't see anywhere in the code that makes the request to do that. Unless that's a default behavior if I've gotten the redirect wrong?
    I don't know if this is helpful, but there is also a .js file that Dreamweaver created and attached to the above HTML source file. The .js file appears to have all the spry code validation including code for features and widgets I'm not even using. I searched through the code several times trying to identify where there might be a redirect to the index page but didn't recognize anything that made sense to me. Here is the complete, unedited file:

  • I'm getting this message: "Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page." but unchecking the box for "warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page" has not helped. I'm using Firefox 3.6.3 on Mac OS 10.6.3. M'aidez

    Can't load Google Calendar. I'm getting this message: "Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page" but unchecking the box for "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page" has not helped. I'm using Firefox 3.6.3 on Mac OS 10.6.3. It's not reported as a generalised problem in Dashboard. Google Calendar opens and works fine on my 12" PowerBook G4, but this is a recent problem on my G5 13" MacBook Pro. Mayday!

    No I'm not using NoScript, but I'm pleased to report that the problem got resolved by deleting the original bookmark, logging in again, opening Google calendar, then bookmarking it again.

  • I deleted a very important pages file from my iPad and I need it back

    I deleted a very important pages file from my iPad and I need it back pronto! I just updated my iPad without a computer and it had the file there. I need to know how to get back the file very quickly.
    thx in advance

    Thne unfortunately, your document is gone. You can restore lost or deleted documents from backups if you have backups - and as long as the backup contains the document - but if you did not copy the file to your computer - or backup the iPad, the document is gone.
    You really should start backup up your iPad. You can sign up for a free 5GB iCloud account right on the iPad and then you can use iCloud for backing up. You can do it right on the iPad.

  • How to redirect users to certain page on login

    Hello All,
    I need to redirect users to page 1 after login even if they use a direct URL pointing to some other page. How do i achieve this?
    Ex:
    User logs in using URL:
    http://localhost:port/apex/f?p=101:10:1818843916449354::NO:::should redirect him to below page instead of 10:
    http://localhost:port/apex/f?p=101:1:2314843916462565::NO:::Appreciate your reply.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Senana

    Hello Senana,
    Assuming you're using wwv_flow_custom_auth_std.login to log in, and p_flow_page is set to "[your app id]:1" try placing the following line just before your call to wwv_flow_custom_auth_std.login:
    :FSP_AFTER_LOGIN_URL := null;This should force user to page 1 after log-in.
    Hope this helps,
    John

  • How to redirect to a different page when a browser's Back button is clicked

    In my application a user logs-in and searches on the form provided. Now
    If a I click on browser's Back Button I see a message saying Page Has Expired, now at this point if I click on the browsers refresh button it shows me the page again.I want if browser back button is clicked and then Refresh button is clicked I don't want to show the same page rather redirect to a different page and invalidate the session. Is there a way clicking on browser back button I redirect to a different page.I have the following code on top of each jsp pages:
    response.setHeader("Cache-Control","no-cache"); //forces caches to obtain a new copy of the page from the origin server
    response.setHeader("Cache-Control","no-store"); //directs caches not to store the page under any circumstance
    response.setDateHeader("Expires", 0); //causes the proxy cache to see the page as "stale"
    response.setHeader("Pragma","no-cache"); //HTTP 1.0 backward compatibilityAny help is appreciated. Thanks

    There's no way to know when the back button is clicked, so I don't see how you can do anything about it. Since that message comes from a page which was created by a POST form submission, you can put some unique value in a hidden field that let's the server side record and if it gets it again (from the reload) then it can ignore the form data and redirect.

  • How to redirect the first web page?

    Hey everyone. Does anyone know how to set up a firewall or router so that when an IP is first assigned, the very first web page that they pull up (port 80 request) is automatically redirected to a web page. But only on the first web page, so that they can go ahead and surf other subsequent pages after they view the splash screen.

    Actually, what I mean is similar to when you log into your hotel's Wifi. Whenever you open up a browser, you get redirected to some splash page where you have to accept some terms and conditions. I have a Linksys 3G CDMA router and I want it to put up a splash page whenever someone first logs in and opens up a browser.
