JTA Timeout and server not responsive

We have seen on a few occassions a message in the weblogic log JTA timed
          out
after 120 seconds. At that point we cant access the weblogic server via
          the console.
The server jvm seems unresponsive after this any ideas??

Hi Larry.
Can you take a thread dump of the server when it's unresponsive and post it
here? That's the best way to debug it.

  • Weblogic JTA timeout and PreparedStatement cache problem (Closed Statement)

    Hello,
I am facing up a problem using a Weblogic connection pool with a PreparedStatement.
    Here is the environement :
    - Weblogic application server 10.3
    - JDBC connection pool with Oracle Thin driver (from server library) - all parameters by default i.e. StatementCache size = 10
    - JTA transaction timeout = 30s
The problem is : if a prepared statement ends because of a JTA timeout, I receive the following stack exception/ stack trace
java.sql.SQLException: The transaction is no longer active - status: 'Rolling Back. [Reason=weblogic.transaction.internal.TimedOutException: Transaction timed out after 33 seconds
BEA1-000D8AE7230EFAA3EDC9]'. No further JDBC access is allowed within this transaction.
    at weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.JTSConnection.checkIfRolledBack(JTSConnection.java:178)
    at weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.JTSConnection.checkConnection(JTSConnection.java:188)
    at weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.Connection.preInvocationHandler(Connection.java:92)
    at weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.Connection.clearCachedStatement(Connection.java:814)
    at weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.PreparedStatement.clearCachedStatement(PreparedStatement.java:1357)
and then, if we try to re-execute immediately the same operation (*same statement* but new request, new thread, new JTA transaction ...) we receive without delay the following exception :
    java.sql.SQLException: Closed Statement
    at oracle.jdbc.driver.SQLStateMapping.newSQLException(SQLStateMapping.java:70)
    at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.newSQLException(DatabaseError.java:112)
    at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:173)
    at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:229)
    at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:403)
It seems like a bug in the caching mechanism of Weblogic, the 1st stack trace shows method from the statement cache implementation, I presume weblogic is trying the clear the statement from the cache after the iniitial TimedOutException (SQLException), but as the JDBC connection is unusable at this point, the clearing fails and the statement remains in the cache but is physically closed by JDBC.
1st question, why weblogic does need to call JTSConnection.checkConnection() for clearing a statement from its internal cache, it is a pure java memory operation isnt'it ?
2nd question : How to solve the problem without setting the StatementCache size to 0 (I tried, it solves the problem)? I don't want to disable completely the Weblogic statement caching, I have a small PreparedStatement called very frequently.
    Thanks for any help

The main issue is that the transactional context that is supposed to underlay the JDBC code being executed,
has gone away. Indeed, any DBMS changes that may have been made by your code so far, have been rolled
back and are gone. Your code should not be trying to continue JDBC as normal, and WebLogic is trying to stop
you. The control flow should go back up to the location where the transaction was initiated, so as to restart from
the beginning if that is what is desired, including getting a new JDBC connection and remaking all the statements
    etc.

  • Secured wi fi network gives timeout and will not accept password.  Works on i pad and iphone

My Macbook Pro network was secured and worked on ipad and iphone.  Now it gives me a "connection timed out" message on laptop and will not accept password.  It works on ipad and iphone.  Anyone with an explanation.  I cannot get it to let me delete from the macbook pro.  Had to set a new unsecured network to just get on internet.  Running 10.7.4 and is up to date.

I deleted all and then set up an unsecured network.  When I go to system preferences>Network and where the Network Name is, I click join other networks, then click show networks the secured net work is still there and when I click on it, it gives me the timeout message.  This is causing a problem in trying to get my wireless printer back on line as it keeps going to this secured network.  Can you help with this problem.  I would like to remove the secured network completely from my computer.  I have gone to the Advanced and deleted all.  The only one showing there is the unsecured network.

  • Forum timeouts and server errors

In the last two days I've been experiencing intermittent problems with the forum: when I click a link to a thread or post sometimes I can't get it to load. I have to wait about a minute and try again. The same issue occurs when I try to submit a post.
I'm not maxing out my internet connection, other websites are working fine.
Should I post this to the ML?

Wait and see if anyone else is experiencing it. I get it from time to time, but suspect my conection is responsible more often than not.
I also haven't noticed an uptick in frequency over the last week; nor does it happen when trying to submit a post, just when browsing*
    * Having said that, my browsing rate is probably similar to your posting one...

i didn't really use iMovie until recently
but now it just suddenly stopped working.

I right click it and it reads Application Not Responding
I don't really know what to do
anyone have any ideas on what i should do?

    Hi
Not knowing the origin to Your problem - General approach when in trouble is as follows:
    • Free space on internal (start-up) hard disk if it is less than 10Gb should rather have 25Gb
    • Hard disk is untidy: Repair Permissions, Repair Hard disk (Apple Disc Util tool)
    • Delete iMovie pref file - or rather start a new user/account - log into this and re-try
    • Third party plug-ins that doesn't work OK (not relevant for iMovie’08)
    • Program miss-match: iMovie 5.0.2, up to Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.4.1 - is OK
    • Program miss-match: iMovie 6.0.3 or 6.0.4, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.4.1 - is OK (might work under Leopard)
    • Program miss-match: iMovie’08 v. 7.0.1, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.4.1 - is OK (might work under Leopard)
iMovie pref file resides: Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD)/Users/"Your account"/Library/Preferences
    and is named: com.apple.iMovie.plist
While iMovie is NOT RUNNING - move this file out to desk-top.
    Now restart iMovie.

  • Sending big files and server notes

I was sending 3 consecutive e-mails with some pictures on them. They eventually went through but did get a sign or notice saying the server could not put them through. Is that because I have used up my space allotment or did I send them to fast or were they to big? Also does keeping to many previous e-mails limit my space etc. (when sending out or coming in) using AT&T 1.5mps high speed.

some 226 KB lets say 6 pictures?

  • Error -10810 AND Keyboard Not Responsive

Hello, within the past week my keyboard has been freezing randomly and finder will not open any applications. I've tried reparing the disk and permisions, but disk utility says the "Macintosh HD Apears to be OK".
I've tried using terminal when the finder is not frozen, but the terminal will say "-bash process fork" and then "process completed". Also, if I open up another terminal window, the terminal just displays "Could not open a new pseudo-tty."
Also, any applications that are open run normal and the finder is not frozen (I can still navigate and search), but it will not open any NEW applications.
    All help is greatly appreciated,
    Thank you

One more thing, this problem only occurs on my account. When logged in on the guest account, I experience no issues. Just to test this, I also created another administrator account, and I also have not run into this problem.
    Thanks Again

  • Application and server not working

    Hello,
I have 10 AS and Jdeveloper. I have made a simple ADF
application witch works fine in Jdeveloper.
    1. I installed ADF Runtime to application server
    - System Components HOME doesn't start anymore
    2. When i deploy my application (packed using customized ToyStore ant build file), it deploys fine.
    - when i try to run a simple JSP file with only reading out.println( "something" ), it gives me fallowing error:
java.lang.LinkageError: loader constraints violated when linking oracle/jbo/ApplicationModule class
Only static HTML-files work. I'm so frustrated! Please help.

Did the HTML file that is produced by the ADF Runtime Installer tool show that everything in the installation went without error?
(I've sometimes had to shut down the server, do the install, and restart the server before the results would be error free due to the inability to make backup copies (or move?) some of the currently-in-user JAR's that are there by default that the ADF Runtime Installer will be replacing.
What JDK are you running the server with? JDK 1.4.2?

  • Mail account empty and not responsive

    Hi,
this has been ongoing for a few months, even before I upgraded to mountain Lion.  I use mail from my macbook pro and have been using mail attachment tamer without problem for a long time.
I have about 6-7 mailbox (icloud, my wife, 3 exchange for office, etc).  all of a sudden, my exchange account has been wiped out on my mac?  I works perfectly fine on my ipad, but my inbox is now empty on my mac and is not responsive (clicking on get mail will not work for this account).  When I log to my exchange server from safari, everything is fine.  Today, though, same thing happenned with two of my wife's inbox.
Also, since a few weeks, mail will close unexpectingly, a dialog box pops up and show a very long log ently....and it says: click to reopen, when I click, mail reopen but same problem with the account blank.
I tried using time capsule to retrieve my inbox, but it creates a new inbox called time capsule ( i would like to have it in my original inbox), anyway, even after retrieval, my inbox is still unresponsive.
I tried to delete the v2 files calles enveloppe... and it recreated them upon relauching mail, but without any help, in fact, it seemd worse (that is when my wife's 2 account were wiped out, so I replaced the old v2-enveloppe files at their original place.
Any idea how to fix it?
my icloud account still works like a charm and my wife's exchange account from the same office as me works too!!!
    Thanks
    Christian

  • Intermittent "Server not Found" errors

For the past week, I've been getting intermittent "Server not Found" errors. It'll happen when going to a site. I re-read the site and it might open to it. Go to another site, it works fine. Two things. The transaction timeout is set when the transaction starts. When are you setting the timeout, and where are you starting the transaction?
There is a bug in 6.0 SP1. The EJB subsystem always sets the transaction timeout. If you don't specify anything in your descriptor. It sets the timeout to 30 seconds. However, if you
change the JTA default to 60 seconds, the EJB container won't see this change. This is fixed in our next minor release.

  • CatchAll block not catching JTA timeout with XA datasource

    Hi,
We have a synchronous BPEL process with DB Adapters calling XA datasource. We configured a CatchAll block to catch any exception that may arise during the execution. JTA timeout is 5 min (300s). DB Adapter calls a procedure in which we have introduced delay using DBMS Lock API.
Whenever the total invoke activities timeout is greater than 5min, JTA exception is occurring, but not getting caught in CatchAll block.

You can use the SOA Fault Management Framework to capture this error and handle it accordingly.  Use a <test> condition in the fault policy file to test for the specific $fault values you're getting in this error and then link to what you need to execute to handle the error in the corresponding <action> element. In the fault binding file bind this aforementioned fault policy to the DB Adapter reference component via the <reference> element. Alternatively you could bind it to the composite if the test condition is sufficiently detailed enough.
    Hope it helps.

  • DNS timeout and Name Server timeout between two DC's

    Hi All
My clients have a brand new domain built for them, with two domain controllers at separate sites, and one site is having some issues.
At one site (where DC2 is hosted), all users are having 5-10 minute log on delays - once in everything is running without issues. Site where DC1 is has zero issues - they run smoothly, get a nice quick login etc. All users are using redirected folders and
all have the same GPO's applying to them.
DC1 also has periodic issues communicating with DC2 - nslookup using DC2 gives "DNS request timed out. timeout was 2 seconds" on external AND internal queries, but then 5 minutes later will resolve perfectly. During the "DNS time out"
period, trying to resolve DC2 as a Name Server also gives the error "A timeout occurred during validation".
Not sure if these (slow logon and DNS/NameServer time out issues) issues are related but I am at a loss.
Reverse lookup zones are fully created and populated, entries aren't randomly deleting themselves. Replication between both DC's is working fine, no errors and SYSVOL/NETLOGON are sharing fine from both DC's. Occassionally restarting the DNS server services
on both servers will kick them back into talking - but only for around 30sec-1minute, after that they communicate periodically without problems and spend the rest of the time not resolving.
Any ideas floating around, as I am at a loss here. We haven't been able to join more than a few test users to DC2's site for fear of them all calling every day due to long log on periods.

    Hi,
Are you pointing each DC/DNS to the other one as primary dns in tcp/ip properties? Can you post a dcdiag /a /f:dcdiag.log from the DC2?
Any warnings/errors in Application log on the client(s) facing issues after they get logged in ? Can you also confirm that users from site with DC2 are having DC at : set | find /I "LOGONSERVER" output?
    Hope it helps.
    Regards,
    Calin
    Hi Calin
The DC's were originally pointing at each other for the primary but others prior to posting here suggested that was not best practice anymore and said they should be the other way around - in any case, either direction doesn't resolve the issues.
The only application error the users are getting is :
The winlogon notification subscriber <SessionEnv> was unavailable to handle a notification event.
The winlogon notification subscriber <GPClient> took 84 second(s) to handle the notification event (Logon)
