JTable: is it possible to remove row/column borders

Hi,
I want my JTable to be displayed without any lines between
rows/columns. I tried to use the border settings but cannot get rid of
the lines. I assume because these small lines belongs to the
column/row properties?
How can I get rid of them?

table.setIntercellSpacing(...);

  • JTable Problem (table does not show rows and columns)

    Hi All,
    What the table is suppose to do.
    - Load information from a database
    - put all the values in the first column
    - in the second column put combobox (cell editor with numbers 1-12)
    - the 3rd column put another combobox for something else
    - the 4th column uses checkbox as an edit
    The number of rows of the table should be equal to the number of
    record from
    the database. If not given it default to 20 (poor but ok for this)
    The number of columns is 4.
    But the table does not show any rows or
    column when I put it inside a
    JScrollPane (Otherwise it works).
    Please help,
    thanks in advance.

    I hope you don't expect us to read hundreds of lines of unformatted code? Use the "formatting tags" when you post.
    Why are you creating your own TableModel? It looks to me like the DefaultTableModel will store you data. Learn how to use JTable with its DefaultTableModel first. Then if you determine that DefaultTableModel doesn't provide the required functionality you can write your own model.

  • Removing rows and inserting new rows with new data in JTAble!!! (Plz. help)

    I have a problem, The scenario is that when I click any folder that si in my JTable's first row, the table is update by removing all the rows and showing only the contents of my selected folder. Right now it's not removing the rows and instead throwing exceptions. The code is attached. The methods to look are upDateTabel(...) and clearTableData(....), after clearing all my rows then I proceed on adding my data to the Jtable and inserting rows but it's not being done. May be I have a problem in my DefaultTableModel class. Please see the code below what I am doing wrong and how should I do it. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

I tried to print the values that I am getting and it does give the values on the prompt but doesn't show me on the JTable only first two are shown and the rest of the table is filled with the same values. I don't know what's going on and am tired of this TableModel thing so pla. take a time to give me some suggestions. Thanks

    Tnx in adv!

    e.g
    Create two buttons inside the Table ( "Add New Row" ) and ("Add new Column")
    their handlers are:
    add new row:
    //i supose u already have
    DefaultTabelModel tablemodel = new DefaultTableModel(rowdata, columnNames);
    //and
       JTabel jtable = new JTable(tablemodel);
    // Handler (row)
    jbtAddRow.addActionListener(new ActionListener(){

  • Is it possible to remove any built in columns?

    I might have used some built-in columns in my list, is it possible to remove them?There is no DELETE button when I open the column. I am Admin of the site.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    Why you want to remove them? Anyway you can't delete them but you can hide them from users while viewing the items (i.e. modify the list view and uncheck column which you don't want to show).
    I would suggest keep them as it is in list and create new column as per your business requirement.

  • Add/remove rows in jTable

    Hello,
    I'm writing an application with Sun ONE Studio 4. The autogenerated code for a JTable is something like: jTable1.setModel(new javax.swing.table.DefaultTableModel...
    How can I add / remove rows from this table? In principle it should work like this: model.removeRow(0); But I don't have a model name in the autogenerated code.
    Thanks for your help, Elke

    DefaultTableModel model = (DefaultTableModel)<table>.getModel();
    model.doWhateverYouWant();

  • About JTable ...removing one Column

    How do i remove one Column from the JTable?
    Thanks

    TableColumnModel tcm = table.getColumnModel().
    tcm.remove( tcm.getColumn(...) );This only removes the column from the view of the table. The data is still stored in the TableModel.

  • How to change/remove Details column in a table?

    Hi,
    I need to build an interface where the user would be able to review summary information on some records and edit them one in detail mode.
    This all works very nice through detailDisclosure but it also automatically includes a Details column which I do not seem to be able to manipulate in any way.
    Ideally I would like to replace the Details column with one called Action and positioned as last column in the table and replace the "Show" and "Hide" links with "Edit" and "Cancel" buttons... I am able to add the column with the buttons and they work just as expected as long as the table is defined with its <detail>...</detail> section in the .uix file, however that also triggers the addition of Details column, which is not desirable.
    I have used JHeadstart to create the page and then edited the UIX file for the page in order to add the buttons.
    Is what I am trying to do possible at all with <table>? The functionality I need is all there. I just cannot make it look the way I want on the screen because of that Automatically inserted Details column. If not possible to
    remove it completely is there a way to change the title and replace Show and Hide with something else? Preferably icons?
    Thanks!

    This has been much discussed earlier. Do search posts.
    For your scenario i would do the following.
    inside your node which is binded to the table, i create a new node image with cardinality 1 ..1 and a attribute called path of type string.
    create a  supply function for the node image .
    Supply method now has a Element (Parent element ) and node.
    Based on your record in element, set the right image source to path attribute and bind the node.
    This will make sure that the framework calls the image supply function for every row in a table.

    Hi,
    Is it possible to add a column to the Item matrix in the ItemLookup form (CFL or Find Lookup).

  • Warning - 1241024 - Possible string truncation in column #

    I am running the following command in a simple MaxL script, the output of which is sent to a text file:
    display variable App.DB.SubVar;
    The text file appears to have generated fine, with the substitution variable value displayed. However, the following warnings are returned each time from the stderr output. Should I be concerned? Is there any way to rectify this?
    WARNING - 1241024 - Possible string truncation in column 3.
    WARNING - 1241028 - Output column defined with warnings.
    WARNING - 1241024 - Possible string truncation in column 4.
    WARNING - 1241028 - Output column defined with warnings.

    Hi John,
    Many thanks for your response. The problem is a little confusing, as I cannot see how anything is being truncated here - indeed there are characters to spare! Could it be because the potential size of the substitution variable name is 320 bytes and the potential size of the substitution variable value is 256 bytes (11.1.2.1)? Could this be the cause of the warnings here?
    Adding "set column_width 10;" does not appear to remove the warnings either unfortunately. Do you please have any other thoughts on how I might remove the warnings? It might allay the fears of the client later on!
    James

  • UDO: Add and Remove rows to/from Matrix.

    Hi all,
    Yes, I know there are lots of topics about adding and removing rows but I was having trouble with these and I need some expert's opinion.
    I'm working with a Document type UDO, with 1 header table (ADAT_ONR) and 1 child table (ADAT_NR1 -  MatrixUID = "mtx_NR").
    I add the first row when the user chooses the business partner.
    If oMatrix.RowCount = 0 Then
         oMatrix.AddRow()
          oMatrix.AutoResizeColumns()
         oMatrix.Columns.Item("V_LineId").Cells.Item(1).Specific.Value = 1
    End If
    Then, the user has to press the AddRow button to add new rows, and the user can only add 1 new blank row. Later I'll change the row adding behavior to mimic B1s.
                If pVal.BeforeAction = False Then
                    Select Case pVal.ItemUID
                        Case "AddRow"
                            'ItemHandler_Click = AddRow(oCompany, oApplication, oForm, oForm.Items.Item("mtx_NR").Specific.RowCount())
                            oMatrix = oForm.Items.Item("mtx_NR").Specific
                            If oMatrix.RowCount > 0 Then
                                If Trim(oMatrix.Columns.Item("V_PltCode").Cells.Item(oMatrix.RowCount).Specific.Value) = "" Then
                                    oApplication.StatusBar.SetText(TranslateStr(oApplication, MustChoosePallet), BoMessageTime.bmt_Short)
                                    Exit Function
                                End If
                            End If
                            ItemHandler_Click = NewLine(oCompany, oApplication, oForm)
                            Exit Function
        Private Function NewLine(ByRef oCompany As SAPbobsCOM.Company, ByRef oApplication As SAPbouiCOM.Application, _
            ByRef oForm As SAPbouiCOM.Form) As Boolean
            NewLine = False
            Try
                oMatrix = oForm.Items.Item("mtx_NR").Specific
                Dim Index As Integer = oMatrix.RowCount
                With oForm.DataSources.DBDataSources.Item("@ADAT_NR1")
                    .Clear()
                End With
                oMatrix.AddRow()
                oMatrix.Columns.Item("V_LineId").Cells.Item(Index + 1).Specific.Value = (Index + 1).ToString
                oMatrix.FlushToDataSource()
                oMatrix.LoadFromDataSource()
                oForm.Refresh()
                NewLine = True
            Catch ex As Exception
                oApplication.MessageBox("NewLine(): " & oCompany.GetLastErrorCode.ToString & ", " & ex.Message)
            End Try
        End Function
    When I Add or Update the data, I clear the last blank row, if it exists.
               '// In the Click Event
               If pVal.BeforeAction = True Then
                    Select Case pVal.ItemUID
                        Case "1"
                            If oForm.Mode <> BoFormMode.fm_FIND_MODE Then
                                oMatrix = oForm.Items.Item("mtx_NR").Specific
                                oMatrix.FlushToDataSource()
                                oMatrix.LoadFromDataSource()
                                If Trim(oMatrix.Columns.Item("V_PltCode").Cells.Item(oMatrix.RowCount).Specific.Value) = "" Then
                                    oForm.DataSources.DBDataSources.Item("@ADAT_NR1").RemoveRecord(oMatrix.RowCount - 1)
                                    oMatrix.DeleteRow(oMatrix.RowCount)
                                    'oMatrix.FlushToDataSource()
                                End If
                            End If
                    End Select
    My question is, Is there an easier way to Add and Delete Rows??
    BTW, I still have a problem so solve. With this code, when the user deletes a row the row numbering is incorrect. Example: if I have to rows in a matrix and I delete row nº1, row nº2 will hold the same number...
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks in advanced,
    Vítor Vieira

    Hi Victor,
    there is a Form Data event which you ca use in that try to write the code for adding a row after updating and delete a row while inserting and add a row while traversing.
    sample code.
    Sub FormDataEvent(ByRef BusinessObjectInfo As SAPbouiCOM.BusinessObjectInfo, ByRef BubbleEvent As Boolean)
            Try
                Select Case BusinessObjectInfo.EventType
                    Case SAPbouiCOM.BoEventTypes.et_FORM_DATA_ADD, SAPbouiCOM.BoEventTypes.et_FORM_DATA_UPDATE
                        If BusinessObjectInfo.BeforeAction = True Then
                            objForm = objMain.objApplication.Forms.Item(BusinessObjectInfo.FormUID)
                            oDBs_Head = objForm.DataSources.DBDataSources.Item("@Header")
                            oDBs_Detail= objForm.DataSources.DBDataSources.Item("@Line")
                            objMatrix = objForm.Items.Item("83").Specific
                            If objMatrix.VisualRowCount <> 0 Then
                                objMatrix.DeleteRow(objMatrix.VisualRowCount)
                                objMatrix.FlushToDataSource()
                            End If
                            If BusinessObjectInfo.EventType = SAPbouiCOM.BoEventTypes.et_FORM_DATA_ADD Then
                                End If
                        ElseIf BusinessObjectInfo.ActionSuccess = True Then
                            objForm = objMain.objApplication.Forms.Item(BusinessObjectInfo.FormUID)
                            If BusinessObjectInfo.EventType =                    SAPbouiCOM.BoEventTypes.et_FORM_DATA_UPDATE Then
                                objMatrix = objForm.Items.Item("83").Specific
                                objMatrix.AddRow()
                                SetNewLineCharge(objForm.UniqueID, objMatrix.VisualRowCount)
                                objMatrix.FlushToDataSource()
                              End If
                        End If
                    Case SAPbouiCOM.BoEventTypes.et_FORM_DATA_LOAD
                        If BusinessObjectInfo.ActionSuccess = True Then
                            oDBs_Head = objForm.DataSources.DBDataSources.Item("@Header")
                           oDBs_Detail = objForm.DataSources.DBDataSources.Item("@Line")
                            objMatrix = objForm.Items.Item("83").Specific
                            objMatrix.AddRow()
                            SetNewLineCharge(objForm.UniqueID, objMatrix.VisualRowCount)
                            objMatrix.FlushToDataSource()
                           End If
                End Select
                End Sub

  • ADOBE Forms Central - add and remove rows (PDF Form)

    Hello, I am currently evaluating ‘ADOBE Forms Central' to set up a form with editable fields. I have set up a test form in ADOBE Forms Central and was unable to insert an option to add and remove rows similar to the print screen attached. Is this possible to do using ADOBE Forms Central or should I be using
    a different ADOBE application? Thank you, Liz

    A dynamic XFA PDF form can do this. You can create such forms with LiveCycle Designer, which was included with the Windows version of Acrobat Pro prior to version 11. It is now a separate product.
    XFA forms can't be used with FormsCentral, however, only Acroforms can.
