Hi All,
I have created my customer invoice report and giving right output from the Reports 6i,but when i run the same report from the Oracle Applictions,the word format is completely changing in to some other languge(junk Characters).
could anybody help me in this regard

What is the O/S in which you have deployed your reports server?
Let me know what is happening in detail. We have faced similar issues and fixed it succesfully.

I am calling reports from a form using RUN_PRODUCT to be displayed in PDF format. Initially, there is no problem generating and displaying reports, but inevitably at some point when a report is run it just hangs. Rebooting the server temporarily fixes problem. Any ideas on what is happening?

Clicking one level coloumn to be display in 'pdf format' of report(obiee)

Hi All,
we are developed a report and its containing 4 coloumns in obiee analytics.
when we click 2nd coloumn(Year) it will navigate to next level(quarter) of same table.
In the same way when we click on quarter level, it can display the month level in 'pdf' format in a seperate window.
how it can be achieve.

we are using Finance data and users the we reports in pdf format. In that once we click on the any hierachical coloumn it will display pdf file e.g take Invoice of previus month.
We are using OBIEE 10g software.

Report displayed in PDF format

Can somebody point me in the right direction, I am producing a report from a table that uses the standard portal report creation capabilities and is displayed when selecting the link on the portal page. What I would like to do is when the report is displayed is to display it as a pdf document.

Hi,
There is an destination format. This can be used for the output type. When you type here PDF a PDF document is generated.
When you call a report from a form you can call the report with a parameter like this :

Action - Display smartform in PDF format

Hi All,
I have a requirement whereby on triggering of a print form action in crmd_order, the smartform should be displayed in PDF format and from there, user should be able to choose whether to save or to print the form. How can this be done?

Display report on the web in pdf format

I am attempting to display a report in pdf format where I have passed parameters to it and it doesn't work.
We are using Oracle Reports 6i.
If I use the following CGIcmd line
a: server=reports destype=cache desformat=HTML userid=test/test@db paramform=no %*
and the URL
http://sun9ias:7777/dev60cgi/rwcgi60?a+report=INVOICE+p_mainkey=1111+p_subkey=1111.tif.
This report is displayed in HTML format.
For the following test I only changed the format from HTML to pdf.
The CGIcmd line became
b: server=reports destype=cache desformat=pdf userid=test/test@db paramform=no %*
and the URL
http://sun9ias:7777/dev60cgi/rwcgi60?b+report=INVOICE+p_mainkey=1111+p_subkey=1111.tif.
In this instance there is no report but there is a 'broken image' icon displayed in the top left hand corner of the screen. There are no error messages.
This is the preferred method.
As a test I also tried allowing the parameterer form with both HTML and pdf reports.
The CGIcmd line was set to
ax: server=reports destype=cache desformat=HTML userid=test/test@db %* %P
and the URL
http://sun9ias:7777/dev60cgi/rwcgi60?ax+report=INVOICE+p_mainkey=1111+p_subkey=1111.tif.
This displayed the parameter page and when you accept the parameters, the correct report is displayed in HTML format.
When I use the following CGIcmd line

and the URL

As before, this displays the parameter page and when you accept the parameters, the correct report is displayed in pdf format.
The only problem is where we are attempting to use the URL to go directly to the report in pdf format.

1. Click on the Report name and bring up the property palette to show all of the properties for the whole report.
2. Under Report Escapes->Before Form Value, change form method from POST to GET .

URL Portlet PDF format, in new window?

I have successfully installed the URL portlet and can render an Oracle report within in HTML format. I want it to display in PDF format, but it doesn't work...it displays source code. Is there a way to do this?
Also, the report display in place...how can I have just the URL displayed to link out to new window? Thanks...

Are you trying to render the PDF document inside the portlet? Portlets are really only meant to render content that can be displayed inside an HTML table. For a PDF document to share a page with other content, it needs to be in its own frame.
You can create a portlet that just has a link in it if you want the report to display in a new window. This is pretty easy using Content Areas.

Font problem in reports produced in PDF format

Dear all,
All our reports are developed by developer suite 10g (under windows) and deployed on an Application Server 10g (on Linux).
We had a problem with displaying the arabic letters, but this was solved by following the steps in the metalink Note no 726205.1 for generating arabic pdf reports on unix.
Now, the problem is that the font used in the reports is ARIAL, but when the reports are displayed (in PDF format) the font is TAHOMA. This font conversion happens in both Arabic and English reports !
I wonder how can I correct this behaviour.

I remember that fonts in PDF generated by Oracle Reports is a big topic and a subject of many Metalink notes (metalink.oracle.com).

Infoview: Footer missing when viewed in PDF format

Hi,
Our setup is BO XI R2 SP4 FP4.10 on Windows 2003, two productive machines, running in two different sub-nets. Both servers have Adobe reader 8.1.2 installed.
On the master server the reports display correctly when displayed and are saved in PDF format. We also have a 2nd Server running in a different sub-net with an exact copy of all reports, universes and Windows setup. Here we have some reports that are showing a strange behaviour. When displayed in PDF format, the footer is missing.
I've just exported/imported (via a BIAR) a copy of one report and its associated universe but still get the same behaviour.
Any ideas would be very welcome.

Displaying report in .pdf format while Running oracle reports over the web

I am running a report over the web via IE. I am suing .pdf
format as the file type. The problem I am facing is that the
report comes out with a blank in acrobat reader if there are
just one or two records - i.e less thatn one pagefull. THe
reports displays output only when there ar more than one
pagefull of records.
Any explanation for this bezarre behavior and any suggestions?
I will very much appreciate your help.

in R12 I found 2 choice
1) when submitting requests (if available) you can set the output format by using the Options button (upon sompletion section):
layout --> format --> select format you need (RTF/HTML/EXCEL/PDF)
2) in the request form (view->request) selecr the report you want to reprint in the Tools menu select print/republish, in the html page that pop up select output format you want, number of copies =1 submit

The "portable document format" icon is a Word 2010 icon, so selecting Adobe Reader as action does not work to display the PDF.

In the Applications tab -- Content Type -- the "portable document format" icon is a Word 2010 icon (not Adobe), so selecting Adobe Reader or preview in Firefox as action does not work to display the PDF. I can see this Applications difference because my other Firefox laptop has the Adobe icon, and I can view PDFs. Essentially, a PDF is coming in as a Word document -- and the computer tries to open it up as a Word file.
How do I get the correct PDF icon in the Applications list -- the same way it displays (and works) on my other laptop.

I think you need to add this to the list of applications and the action to take on the type of content. This can also be managed in the about:permissions page. [[Permissions Manager - Give certain websites the ability to store passwords, set cookies and more]]

Display W2 form in PDF format in ESS

I am trying to develop a WebDynpro ABAP application to display W2 Form in the Portal 7.0 ESS. I have designed a view with an Adobe Form element to hold the W2 form, and looking for any ideas about getting W2 form in PDF format from the ECC 6.0 system by providing parameters like EE number, Tax Company, and year.
I know that the tcode PU19 can be used for getting W2 in PDF format, but it involves too many steps to generate and view the W2 in PDF format. I am not sure what kind of coding (e.g. classes, methods, logic to retrieve W2) will I need to do in the Web Dynpro application to retrieve W2 in PDF format from the ECC system.
I will appreciate and reward any useful answers or pointers.

Have you found a way to produce the W2s without using tcode PU19. I am looking at doing W2s in ESS for our company and am interested in anything you have done on this.
