• Just downloaded Camera Raw 8.3/8.4, and Photoshop don't open any of my files anymore!

I fallen today on this update of Camera Raw -> http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2011/03/keeping-photoshop-up-to-date.html#notconnected
(See the sentence "Direct download links for Camera Raw 8.3 for Photoshop CS6").
And I saw Camera Raw 8.4 for CS6 (I'm currently working with this version).
Strange you read "8.3", but the link says "8.4"…
So cool, I directly downloaded and applied the "update". And the update has been successfully installed… If I may believe the below window (screenshot).
Just after, I opened Photoshop® CS6, and boummm now I can't open my pictures anymore!
Photoshop® tells me that:
So what's wrong? Did I something wrong?
Could anyone help me on this?

Are you using mac os x 10.6 snow leopard?
If so, camera raw 8.4 doesn't work on snow leopard.
You'll have to revert to camera raw 8.3

I thought adobe was supposed to fix the installers so camera raw 8.4 wouldn't install on snow leopard

there is no such thing. Camera Raw is specific to certain versions of PS. 8.x will never work in CS5. you need to update your software or settle on using the DNG converter.

I bought a Nikon D610 and just tried to upload a RAW file to photoshop CS5 and was not able to. It said CS5 doesn't support the new file and to update it. I downloaded camera raw 6 4 1 update and it still doesn't work. Am I missing a step?

Unfortunately, Photoshop CS5 is not going to be able to open your D610 files directly.
The camera is newer than the latest update for your version of the software. Adobe stopped updating older versions to be able to read raw files from newer cameras when they released a new major version of Photoshop. Photoshop CS5 is no longer receiving Camera Raw updates.
To double check this yourself, using Adobe documentation:
First you need to determine whether Adobe has released support for your new camera in your version of Photoshop. To do that, look at these two pages. You'll want to find out the earliest version of Camera Raw that can support your camera, then what version of Photoshop can run that version of Camera Raw.

Since your version of Photoshop cannot support your camera, you can download and install the latest version of the free Adobe DNG Converter, which can take your raw files as input and put out DNG format files, which your version of Photoshop can then open.

The DNG converter does work, but if you want maximum quality from your new camera's raw files (not to mention the convenience and ease of use of directly opening your raw files) you may want to consider upgrading to the latest version of Photoshop. Camera raw 8.6 update fail and photoshop update

i update my photoshop and camera raw but both of them prompts failure and i cannot open my sony a7s raw to edit... is there someone encountered the same? i'm using windows 7...

1.— That just means your install is messed up. It works on any properly maintained system I've tried so far. Is Photoshop updated to CS6 13.0.6?
2.— After downloading, did you decompress the download and mounted the .dmg file on your desktop AND ACTUALLY installed the new ACR plug-in? It DOES NOT magically get installed, you know.
3.— You are wrong. Adobe doesn't care much about any of their customers, whether subscribed to the Cash Cow or not.
4.— You are not addressing Adobe in these user forums, so drop that attitude. Your troubles are caused by user error and inexperience.

Not sure what you are saying. ACR only comes up when you are trying to open/ Import a file that would require it. And The Nik filters are a comemrcial third-party product. You need to buy it in the proper version that is compatible with PSE 11. For anything more you need to provide a lot more details.

Camera Raw 5.6.0.148: Option Flaps don't open

In the latetst version of Camera Raw, when clicking on the buttons for the
- Targeted Adjustment Tool (T)
- Crop Tool (C)
the option flaps don't open. I have completely re-installed Photoshop CS4 and the Camera Raw plug-in 5.6.0.148 and it still doesn't work. I use Win XP professional, SP3.

Recreating the preference file may help. To re-create the Photoshop preferences file:
Quit Photoshop
Rename the Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs.psp file (for example, to Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs.psp.old) in the Documents and Settings/[username]/Application Data/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS4/Adobe Photoshop CS4 Settings folder.
Start Photoshop. Photoshop creates a new preferences file.
It should also be noted that the option flaps for these two tools open with a right click only, when the cursor is within the picture.

Help, Just bought a new Mac and discovered the old CS2 illustrator and Photoshop are not compatible….so does this mean I have to buy new ?? Bit miffed off to say the least ! Is there any alternative that can be downloaded ?

You don't download anything "into Bridge". Bridge is a just a File Browser, you put your image files wherever you want and you point Bridge to whatever folder you put your raw CR2s in.

Also I should add the updater does not work on CS5, so you must manually download and install them.
