Just to say thanks to the Ad

SSR and friends,
You guy dealt professionnaly with my rants during my frustration with my Zen Touch.
I got it replaced by Tech Support. It works great now. I went ahead and bought a second one that came in yesterday. Both work great so far.
Thank you.Message Edited by noIpod on 08-20-2005 02:45 AM

Personally I'm not an Admin or Mod, unlike Jeremy, Cat and Jason. I just help out here when I have free time. Either way I'm glad to hear your problem is resolved!

  • Saying thanks to the mods

I know many contributors to these forums say thanks to mods in each individual thread but not being a regular forum contributor I thought I would start this thread.
I have had BB speed problems for months, which affected my Vision ‘on demand’ usage (the dreaded V04 message). Contacted India, spoken to engineers, had an engineer visit. The visiting engineer changed my telephone plate to an ADSL v1.0 type (no filters needed on any extension) and disconnected the earth wire. No real success.
Raised a compliant though the BT.com pages, then contact the mods direct, since then things have improved. Took a couple of goes but I now have speeds of just below 3.0mbps and have been able to watch the on demand stuff. I have been connected now for almost five days, no restarts / resync. I trust it will now remain stable, but only time will tell.
Contacting the mods is a one to one exchange and they appear to claim ownership of your problem. At least they make the effort, so a BIG thanks, especially Stephanie.

    Hi brightspark.
I am sure the mods will appreciate you making the effort to show your appreciation, cos I don't see mannnny threads saying thanks to the mods.
     Hope your line stays stable

  • Just Want To Say Thanks For The Newly Updated Forum!

Thanks! Nice touch. It's faster and more pleasing to the eyes . . .

    Sean,
I finally got a board that is what it should be, no thanks to the people I bought the first 2 boards from. I had to RMA it to California to MSI. By the way, your NJ people were no help at all. They completely ignored me after a call to them and a promise of help. I talked to their NE rep and 2 techies. Totally useless. You had much better luck than me. I just went to MSI's main page and simply put Bios related and they e-mailed me an RMA number.
This board has all of the accessories. The first 2 didn't. I've flashed this one several times to find the best bios. Thanks for the word.

Assaf: keep up the good work. Again, thanks!

  • Just to say thanks! also 1 question.

I was amazed to get a phone call from Apple a few days back regarding a problem I encountered with my iMac saying they read this forum and wanted to study my iMac to help improve production and troubleshoot. As they wanted to take my old iMac they are giving me a new 21.5" replacement which I really happy with as that solves my problems with the old machine right out. As I never see many good feedback threads here I decided to just say thanks for all the help with my old model (of which I'm still on as it will take a week to get the new one) and I hope not to be posting problems anymore... I really hope lol.
Now for the question, seeing as I have to replace my iMac Apple told me to recover my account from my TM drive using Migration Manager when starting the new iMac up, however the Apple guy said some programs may have issues transferring so I was wondering what these would be as I'm not sure how many license keys I have left on certain software to reinstall it.
So would CS3 and Office 2008 transfer ok as these are my most used apps? I'm not too fused if my virus scanner doesn't transfer though as its not that useful and I'm not even sure if I need it.
    Thanks!

Yer I asked the guy on the phone as I was abit worried that my replacement iMac could come with problems but he said all 21.5" models seem to be ok with no problems and only the 27" are driving up the wall. Wonder why? the 27" doesn't have that many different components than the 21.5". Shame really.
Good to hear I can transfer my account well from my TM drive. I don't have time to be re-installing all my apps when I don't have half the dmgs anymore lol.

  • Just to say thanks to Rich Flemming

Rich Flemming answered a question of mine on the 7th of June and I just wanted to say thanks. I didn't want to post it on the same page as the page was marked as answered and you probably wouldn't see it. Anyway, thanks your a STAR!

  • Complaint on Adobe support - no one is really able to help and just keep saying will escalate the matter and come back in 2-3 days but of course never.

Understand this is a formum not a platform for complaint but I am just so frustrated and also found that Adobe has escaped every route and successfully avoided us contacting them so I have to steam out my anger here so that everyone is aware of their service level and best to avoid them in future.
I have so frustrated that I am not able to get any useful help from Abobe customer service rep who chatted twice with me on the below issue.  I have subscribed to the PS + LR for one year since Aug and has not been able to use it since then but you have already charged to my credit card the amount.   Brief summary of my case:
I subscribe and paid for one year PS+LR with order number 8853917659 on Aug 22 2014, payment charged to my credit card, then I downloaded the PS and LR, and could only use the trail version with only 30 days then after that I can use it.  I checked with Adobe chat people and found out there was no subscription record in my account but the subscription order was processed and payment also processed, but the system just failed to registered my subscription record under my account so making me seems not have any subscription thus I cannot use the PS + LR.  I am very sure I have logged in PS using my same email that was used for the subscription but still it only tell me that my trial period has expired but that shouldn’t be the case as I have really paid and subscribed to the one year service for PS+LR.
For this matter, I have been contacting the chat room people named Sumanth on Dec 27 case number #0214518729 while he promised he will escalate and someone will response in 2-3 days, no one show up.  Then on Jan 4, I chat with another service rep named Tabassum case number #0214558799, he just repeat the same whole process and said will escalate and someone will response in 2-3 days, and yet again, on one show up.
I don’t know how many times I need to repeat this game and has no hope of someone helping me.  Adobe just can take our money and do nothing and leaving us helpless.  There is no contact email on Adobe website and no complaint channel.  All they provided is only the chat which is ridiculously useless.
I searched the web and just realized how many similar complaints that people have towards Adobe in their customer service level and I am not the only one.  I am totally losing faith in them and will be taking all my best effort to avoid them.
I am just trying my last hope to write to this email and see if anyone from Adobe is reading and show their care to their customers and do something here to fix my issue.

As you state this is a user forum. Only Adobe can help with orders and registration.   Adobe program support is very poor but one thing their Customer support can handle are problems like yours. While it hard to get to Adobe Customer Support phone number frome links in Photoshop and on Adobe.com. Finding it through Google is seconds away.

i just bought my ipod yesturday and i want to call someone on facetime. so i signed in using my apple ID and when i press 'next' after that, at the top it is still loading after an hour. please help!

    Try:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Maybe just a loose connection they can fix.

  • Surprise Verizon - I just want to say thanks.

In the past, I and many others, have complained about the time it takes Verizon to get a device update. I presently have the Nokia 928 and I was pleasantly surprised with the latest AMBER update. It came on the day it was released for most other devices across the world.
I did the upgrade; love the new capabilities. Had no problems updating.
I assume that the ease of update was caused by Verizon having not to do the long testing cycle as in the past. This should give you as a company, reason to jump on the Windows Phone train and push harder to sell this product line.
Just wanted to say thanks for the timely update and look forward to the next one.
By the way, the 920 users on AT&T are still waiting for the AMBER update as of yesterday.

it's so nice to give something like that back to the devs (not that i am one, of course)
I kinda felt like that too, but i came from ubuntu with a 3 month gentoo sidetrack ^^
    cheers Barde

  • Just wanted to say thanks to Pierre

    Hi all,
I haven't posted in ages, but I wanted to say thanks to Pierre for doing such a great job of packaging kde4.4.  I'm one of those annoying hold-outs who was still clinging to kde3, but the number of things that weren't functioning on my system because of that were getting out of hand, and after looking at the previews for 4.4 decided I'd switch once it was out.  I really appreciate the extra work that went into modularizing everything - I'm not afraid of "bloaty megapackages" but it's very nice to be able to choose exactly which packages I want from a larger group.  FWIW, my upgrade went smoothly, and other than very few crashes here and there, I'm enjoying 4 immensely.
I also wanted to say thanks to the arch artwork folks - the wallpapers and icon theming are great!
Please save the haterade for other threads.

Yay, BIG thanks to Pierre, I'm not around for sooo long, but it looks like he's doing an amazing job around KDE here !

  • K8N -Thanks for the help - Need to be a little quieter

AIM: to build an ass kicking video editing & music production PC
Just wanted to say thanks to the peeps who contribute to this forum.  Although I have only just registered I have been coming here for the past month and have put together all the missing pieces of my first ever PC Build project.  My previous experience was to upgrade the odd part.  This forum has enabled me to make the equipment choices, tackle the engineering & build (including fitting the CPU fan which was my worst worry), update the bios & load the drivers & software in the correct order.  99% of the items have been sourced from eBay to save money and so far no DOA's.
Still got some way to go, so any suggestions regarding my future upgrades would be welcome…..
The Winfast graphics card is possibly the weakest link (borrowed from my outgoing PC) and I am looking for an ATI x800xt PE vivo.
Looking to replace the HDD with two WD Raptors in Raid?
Not sure If I will fit My Terratec Sound Card (the front plate has all the connections which is not good for the door on the front of my case) or to go the Audigy way?
I have no idea how to overclock and not sure if I need to go this way for video editing, if yes would the dane-elec memory need to be upgraded?  How do I test this?
I gather from previous posts that once all this kit is added  I may need to be upgrade the 400w PSU due to a shortage of amps?  I am a little reluctant as it is almost totally silent @ 14db. I like the look of the OCZ moonsomething?
Finally, the case Tsunami Dream case is a little noisy. I just purchased some acoustic absorption mats to help. Has anyone had any luck changing the stock Tsunami 120mm fans to quieter ones?
    Thanks Again

Hi.  Happy you have found the forum helpful.
I would buy  a good PSU first.  Otherwise you risk damaging  your new equiment.  Recommended makes are Enermax, Tagan, Hiper and OCZ with amps on the 12 rail at least in the mid twenties, but preferably around 30.
For video cards, I have preferred nvidia-based cards in recent years because of their better driver support.  The 6800GT is a good choice.  The ultra version, IMHO, is not worth the added cost since you can ususally OC the GT ot ultra speeds.
Raptors in RAID offer the best performace but suffer a big price premium over 7200 SATA drives.
I would leave the Audio issue for last.  You just might like the on-board audio.
Deciding whether to chage the case might be the very first thing to decide since it would be awfully inconvenient to install everything and then have to resinstall because of a case change.  I wish there was a way to get a totally silent case/fan combo, but I don't.  Maybe someone else will help you on this.
    Good luck.
