A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

• Can not open any web page in Safari

can not open any web page in Safari on the IPad.  All other wireless features work fine.

If this does not work then try a reset ,
Reset your iPad by pressing the 'Sleep' and 'Home' button at the same time for about 15 seconds or so. Your iPad  will then go through a reset / reboot procedure and will be ready for use within about a minute.
Don't worry about doing this as you will not lose data or settings.
Good luck and do report back.

• Safari update to 5.1.5, on snow leopard, now safari won't open any web page.

Just installed Safari update to 5.1.5 and now Safari won't load any web page. Running snow leopard on an iMac.  How do I fix, or revert to previous version of Safari that did work, keeping in mind, can't access internet on that computer since Safari won't load a web page (Firefox, Chrome, Opera have never worked on that computer, although Firefox worked fine until I upgraded OS to snow leopard).

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

• Can't open any web pages message comes up it times out

we trying to open any web page say it has times out. Tried different users but all say the same

Have you looked at what preferences Safari is using?
Also, did you have an older version?
Still won't work after restart?
There is never a good reason to "drop your guard" and disable or have to configure a normally working firewall.
Chrome - I didn't like where it installed itself in Vista, ~/AppData/Local is NOT a valid location, along with half a dozen other 'features' and behavior. Also, when I uninstalled, why does it need to go to a web page, other than to register my IP address - without asking, and without launching my default (Minefield) and launching IE7.
So I would try uninstalling Chrome just to rule out incompatibility, and to warn you that it does things that may not be what you expect either.
Safari for Windows doesn't seem to respect some things that affect if and when a web page is saved to local cache, and can only see a problem if you had Safari working earlier (a common thread, installing Safari over older version it seems).

• I cannot right click without the browser freezing for at least 3-5 seconds. I disabled add-ons and reset firefox - same issue.

I can't right click anywhere in the browser without the browser freezing for at least 3-5 seconds.
I disabled all the add-ons.
I reset firefox.
issue is still there.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

• Firefox 4.0 displays an error code when launching: "TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined", add-ons doesn't work and I can't open any web pages

Hello
I've been running Firefox 3.6.16 with no problems at all, and this morning decided to upgrade to Firefox 4.0, as the developer of the them I use, Foxscape, has upgraded it to work with 4.0. The installation appeared to be as normal, but when I launched 4.0, the following error message appeared: error "when launching firefox 4.0 TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined". The browser launched, but while I could go to webpages if they were in my bookmarks, so no problems with my internet connection, but when I typed in a URL (for example google.co.uk) and pressed "go", nothing happened. Similarly, when I tried to go to add-ons, it was as if I hadn't clicked anything. I wondered whether it was an issue with Foxscape (although I've never had any problems before when upgrading, as the standard theme just appears) so I reverted to 3.6.16, switched the theme to standard, then tried upgrading to 4.0 again. The same thing happened, so I'm positive it's got nothing to do with Foxscape.
I run Windows Vista Home Edition on a Dell Inspiron. I also have IE 9 installed (I installed it a few weeks ago, and it's been running fine with 3.6.16). I've never had any problems with Firefox before; I'm very keen to upgrade to 4.0, and would appreciate your help in fixing this.
Thanks

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

are you getting any error?

• Can't open any web pages

safari says "safari can't open the page because it can't find the server" its connected to wifi. i did a restore on it and it did nothing.. any ideas?

The WiFi is working, but the Web connection from your provider is not getting through. Sometimes, they're just down a distinct possibility since Sunday night is the typically time providers go down for maintenance.
If they're still up then a reset is required to fix it. Unplugging your modem, waiting ten seconds and plugging it back in may do it. This usually works with a cable modem.

• BTFON connects but I can't open any web pages

I'm away from the address where my home hub is so I've been trying to use BTFON. I can connect fine but I can't open the landing page or any other web pages due to DNS errors.
I've checked that my DNS settings are set to automatic and it seem to be picking up the correct servers (192.168.22.22 and 192.168.22.23). I also get an IP address starting with 10. I've tried clearing my browsing history and disabling my firewall/anti virus software but still haven't succeeded.
Anyone got any experience of this sort of issue?

did you read the stickies at the top of the board which may help  http://community.bt.com/t5/BB-Out-About/BT-Wi-Fi-issues/td-p/697978

I could open any browsers and it could load pages very fast, but after I downloaded and tried to install Xquartz ( recommended by apple) I went on my browser again any tried to open Facebook but it didn't work all it said on the browser was NO DATA RECEIVED. I thought it was only Facebook so I tried google but it wasn't, it was all of the websites. So I'm not sure if I've accidentally downloaded a virus or malware. By the way I use google chrome to do the things above but I did do it again in safari. Thanks

• I have stopped too many scripts in Firefox and I can't open any websites in Firefox anymore. I just get blank pages. What do I do now?

3 websites gave me this message:- "A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete." I chose to stop the script each time. However I have stopped too many scripts in Firefox and I can't open any website in Firefox anymore. I just get blank pages. What do I do now?

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox and any leftover program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps one by one:
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu) and confirm all upcoming messages.
#Now, uninstall Firefox by following the steps mentioned in the Uninstall Firefox article.
IMPORTANT: On Windows, the uninstaller has the option to remove your personal data and settings. Make sure that you do not check this option; otherwise all of your bookmarks, passwords, extensions, user customizations and other Firefox user profile data will be removed from your computer.
After uninstalling Firefox on Windows, delete the "Mozilla Firefox" program folder, located by default in one of these locations:
* (On 32-bit Windows) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
* (On 64-bit Windows) C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#Go to the Windows Start menu and click on "Computer".
#In the Explorer window that opens, double click Local Disk (C:) to open the C:\ drive.
#Find the "Program Files (x86)" folder or "Program Files" folder.
#* On 32-bit Windows, double-click the Program Files folder to open it.
#* On 64-bit Windows, you will see a "Program Files (x86)" folder AND a "Program Files" folder. Open the Program Files (x86) folder.
#Look for a Mozilla Firefox folder. If you find one, right-click it and select Delete and confirm that you want to move the folder to the Recycle Bin.
Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
#Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
#Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!

I Just bought a IPAD2 and I can connect to my home wifi but I can't connect to any free hotspots. My Ipad shows the connections but I can't get any web pages. what do I do?

Many free wi-fi hotspots require that you register first - agreeing to their terms and conditions, etc. This is usually provided via a web page with Safari provided immediately after connecting. If the register page is provided via Flash, you won't see it and you won't be able to register.
