JWS 1.6.0_12 possible regression - can anyone verify?

My company's application uses Java 1.4.2, and has some issues with later Java versions (event handling appears to have been done in an interesting way in our libraries that doesn't seem to upgrade properly). This is something I don't have the ability to change, much as I would like to.
To ensure we can always use the correct version of Java, we therefore deploy the application using JWS, specifying J2SE Version 1.4 in the JNLP file.
I've recently been investigating JWS 1.6.0, and have run into certain technical difficulties.
* With JWS 1.6.0 and later (I've tried all the publicly available releases), I get 100% CPU usage whenever the application tries to load a class out of anything but the first JAR file. This may be an issue with the JAR files themselves, as I can't replicate with our other application. If anyone can offer any pointers on this, it'd be great (but I'm going to assume "broken JARs" and ignore it for now). Note that the exact same JNLP file and JAR files work fine in JWS 1.4 and 1.5 - it's just upgrading to JWS 1.6.0 or later that causes this issue.
* With JWS 1.6.0_12, if the "homepage" is set to a non-responsive server, JWS fails to launch the application. This worked fine in JWS 1.6.0_11 - and seems odd; why would JWS try and contact the homepage for the application (note that this is nothing like the CodeBase or DocumentBase). The error received is as below:

Note that this code works fine on JWS 1.6.0_11, and also works fine if the J2SE Version is set to 1.6 - so it appears to be a problem with the way JWS is launching JRE 1.4.2...

Our team supports a 1.4.2 application running at our company, and we have experienced a similar CPU usage issue now that the users have JWS 1.6 installed on their PCs for other reasons.
The app now takes about 30 seconds to even appear to the user where it used to take 3 seconds or so in JWS 1.4.2. This is against JWS 1.6.0_12. The app appears to be taking forever to load classes from a large jar file (WebLogic's weblogic.jar file, 35 MB in size). And the app runs through memory at an incredible rate, consuming 3 MB or so to load a single class. I haven't found any solutions online. I figured I would try to look at the JNLPClassLoader source at some point and see if I could understand why it's doing so much work.

Can anyone verify which version of SCORM 2004 Captivate 4 supports?

Captivate 4 in supporting SCORM 2004 writes 1.3 out to the manifest.
Obviously it supports SCORM 2004 version 1, but can anyone verify whether it does support either version 2 or version 3 of 2004?
We're trying to make sure our LMS is up to the latest specs. Version 4 just came out in March 2009, so we don't expect any products to support that yet, but we at least want to be able to support the latest Version up to that being used.

Cp4 should be able to ouput SCORM 2004 content that plays in an LMS that supports any of the 4 editions.
This does NOT mean that Cp4 has all the new changes already built into it.
But it does mean that Cp4 still handles the basics that are core to each version without attempting the latest extras.
The latter editions of scorm 1.3 (aka scorm 2004), added to and clarified aspects of the spec (e.g. sequencing and navigation control between sco's, global variables that can be shared between sco's, etc.), but Cp does not do any of that anyway.
There is one big thing that I did come across though that I want to mention.
Early on, they changed the name from scorm 1.3 to scorm 2004.
As a result, you can have equivalent courses, whose only difference is that the manifest file refers to the spec by a different name.
Many LMS vendors have accounted for this and it should not make a difference.
However, I had a case where the version of the LMS being used was released when it was still called scorm 1.3.
My courses (which were scorm 2004, 2nd and 3rd edition) initially would fail the basic package validation when uploading because it was looking for "1.3" in the imsmanifest file.
Changed the line in the manifest to reflect the old name, and suddenly everything was fine again.
In my case, to verify I ran the package through each iteration of the ADL Conformance Test Suite for scorm 2004 (just adjusting name of the referenced schema) and it ran through without a hitch.

Importing a photoshop solid color green,(72, 182, 70), file (tif adobe98) into Aperture 3.2.3 on a lion machine. When this file gets imported to aperture the color changes dramatically. When I convert that same file to sRGB in photoshop and then import it into aperture it looks as if most or all of the color was NOT lost or hosed as the Adobe98 file was. Thank you for your help. I am glad that I am not alone with this problem. I feel it is a really huge error, but most people don't care, because they don't own a wide gamut display. If you don't see the problem you don't miss a solution.... For sure the Apple Aperture folks use Apple Displays, they can't see the problem too, if it exists outside my own Aperture installation. To verify this I did the following:
1) Fresh installation of Aperture: Trashed Aperture.app, trashed Aperture Application settings, reinstalled Aperture 3 from DVD and did the 3.3.1 update. Made a new library. It did not help!!!
2) Used my Macbook Pro to verify. The same problem!!!
How can I verify this on a Laptop display with really small gamut? This is a way to test it for you without owning a WideGamut Monitor:

Import it in Aperture
Open it in Photoshop independent from Aperture
Be sure that View > Onscreen Proofing in Aperture and the similar in Photoshop is OFF
Place the both application windows beside each other, as you can see the both images at once. I estimate at this time you can't see the stripes not in Aperture and not in Photoshop.
Now change the system wide display profile to "Wide Gamut RGB". If the problem resists in your system too, you will see the background stripes in Photoshop but not in Aperture.
It looks like in my screenshot here:

To switch to WideGamutRGB is nearly the same as using to the CG301 Eizo profile, the difference in seen colors is not huge at my MacPro. On my MacBook Pro it is a way off, but it simulates that the Laptop display has WideGamut. The display gets the 0-255 steps in colors from the graphics card but these steps are in a much wider color space. So the LCD of the laptop gets compressed colors with the steps in the background compressed to the 0-255. The result are terrible colors but you can see the driffernece of the steps too.
I hope my explanation was understandable. If your test shows the same as mine I think we proofed a really big bug in Aperture. For me it is catastrophic, because I am a big fan of Aperture. Its workflow, its smoothness, the look and feel, the print module etc. etc. everything is nearly perfect. But not with this severe colour mangagement problem that forces some kind of sRGB for all image editing.
A note: This testimage is specially made to value the quality of monitors regarding color gamut. If you see the stripes in image 2 it is okay for AdobeRGB, if see them only in image 3 it is good for sRGB, if you see them not at all the gamut of the display is less than sRGB for the color red. Thiss tells the legend on the right side in German. To see the stripes with all displays you can switch of the blue and green channels in Photoshop.....

I read on the MSI info sheet the K8N Neo4-F is SATA 150 and the K8N- SLI is SATA 300. Does anyone know for sure.
Both use Nvraid so I thought they might be the same. It's not a really big deal but i'd be nice if the K8N Neo4-F was SATAII.

Be forewarned - I have a Neo4 Platinum and it will not work with Maxtor DiamondMax 10 205GB SATA-II. It will only work when jumpered to SATA-I mode. There are lots of people out there with nForce4 boards that haven't been able to get SATA-II running...

The error relates to the failure of spotlight to index/search Airdisk volumes. It means that performing searches on Airdisk volumes will always fail to return any results.
A workaround is to mount your Airdisks using SMB but this renders the normally useful Airdisk Utility redundant. Also, I find that SMB doesn't handle unicode characters as well as AFP does.
I think there are 2 problems here. There is a problem with the AFP implementation used on the AEBSn, if there weren't then Time Machine would be supported. Then there is a problem with the mds daemon, rather than fail, it should degrade and allow non-indexed search to problem.

FCP is not vital to my workflow so went ahead and downloaded Mountain Lion.
It works, though I haven't tried encoding or video compression, and it is worth mentioning that I was shocked how fast it and Soundtrack Pro opened, far, far faster than with Lion. If only my CS6 was as quick.

Can anyone explain how I go from a Sony HD camcorder .m2ts file to viewing the video in HD on either DVD or Blu-Ray?

I have recently started to edit footage taken on a Sony HD Camcorder using iMove 11.
Uploading the .m2ts file was no problem straight from the camera to iMovie, but I (stupidly) assumed that I could burn an HD DVD from iMovie/iDVD to view on a DVD player. I've done a bit of internet research to find out why the quality of the DVD is so bad i.e. SD rather than HD and I think I understand it. Just.
Further searching to find out our to convert AVCHD/.m2ts to either HD DVD or Blu-ray has boiled my brain. So much stuff I read was a couple of years old so I wasn't sure what is possible.
Can anyone tell me how I get to the point where I can upload the .m2ts to the iMac, edit the footage and burn a Blu-Ray or HD DVD?

Booted the Mac this morning and it now works. I tried Alchroma's solution but whether the stereo is Plain or Matrix, it works both ways. I don't think that this was the solution as a result, but thanks for the suggestion. To confirm, my Easy set up is HD / AVCHD Apple 1920 x1080i60, the only thing I can think I did differently compared to yesterday is that I shut my Mac down having changed the Easy setup. Previously, I only changed the easy setup then closed FCE4 down.

You can't download programs via Safari. The only programs (i.e. apps) that you can install are those that are in the iTunes app store on your computer and the App Store app directly on the iPad - PC and Mac programs are not compatible with the iPad, they are different operating systems.
There are a number of browser that are available in the store e.g. Atomic Web and iCab Mobile are two of the most popular, and there is also a free Opera browser (though what is available in the store may depend upon what country that you in and therefore what is available in your country's store).

It won't work, they are linked to your account and can only be played via iTunes on a computer, an iOS device or Apple TV. You might be able to get a cable to link your Mac to your TV so that you can play/mirror it through your TV e.g. if it's a Macbook with an HDMI socket and your TV also has an HDMI socket then you could try an HDMI to HDMI cable (Apple do them, and electrical stores should also have them) - I've used one to play iTunes TV programmes on my TV (though I don't think that I got sound through my TV, only my Mac).

Since this is a school project I recommend you do the work yourself. You will not learn asking others to do it for you. In addition, folks here will not do your homework for you. One Possibility is by making manual entry for that employee from FI side.. (this will give you soln..) Take the help of FI consultant...
Another possibility is in IT0003 "Payroll Status".. You can opt mention next month date "Run Payroll up to" & execute Off cycle payroll for that employee...
Just try this hope this may sort your issue....
If it still it doesn't give you soln.. You may need to reverse the posting of that employee & change employment status.. Run Bonus & finally terminate the employee & do the posting..
