OIM 11g UDF of UI type Lookup not reflected in Self Service Profile Page

I created one UDF of type lookup in admin console. published the sandbox. Then I logged in self service console and created a new sandbox. I wanted to make udf visible in self service page so I started customizing the create user page. But the newly created udf is not visible under userVO.
Steps to re-produce the issue:
1. create a new sandbox in admin console. create a new udf of type lookup. publish the sandbox.
2. login to self service console. create a new sandbox and start customizing. go to create user page. click on customize. select source and select the panel to add the udf. select data component catalog, select userVO. Under this userVO, my newly created UDF is not visible.I cant find my new lookup type udf. I can see the udf created in usr table in DB.
Please let me know if anybody have faced similar issue and its resolution.

can you check whether remaining custom UDFs are appearing?
Is it a problem just with Lookup UDF type?
Also, this sandboxes are very error prone. So you need to make sure only 1 person is working during 1 specific work with sandbox

Qualification Information updated in PUI not reflected in Self Service

Hi there,
I noticed that when I update my qualification information via sefl service, after HR approval, this information is reflected in the Qualification forms in the PUI.
However, if I update my qualification via PUI, this information is not reflected in my self service page.
Im currently lost as to tracking why is this happening. Im not even able to locate the tables these information are written into.
Any clue would be great!

You also might want to try myDataProvider.refresh(), where myDataProvider is the data provider for the DataGrid. Make sure you are using a collection like ArrayCollection or XMLListCollection and you are using the [Bindable] metadata tag.

Changes made in RFC is not reflected in data services

Hi,
I am using a data service based on SAP R/3 RFC in my view
In my RFC i have some import parameters
and some export parameters
and when place a data service which is based on this RFC on the view for the first time , I am getting the import parameters and export parameters correctly
but the issue comes
when ever some one make changes in RFC and activating it again.
those changes are not reflected in data service (ex: a new import parameter is added or a parameter name is changed in the RFC, this is not reflected in data service)
i tried with deleting the existing data service and creating a new data service based on modified RFC
but even iam getting the data services details as pervious one ( as old data servie which i used at firt time)
why this is happening
how to solve this issue

Hi,
Yes you need to restert the J2EE engine. Because when you imort it first time then it holdes it in cache memory. It will not be updated untill you restert the server. You restert the server then try it , you will get the right result for updated RFC.

Why do the thumbnails not reflect changes I make to pages?

I am working on a pdf in Acrobat DC.
I am working on a page with all the layers hidden.
So the thumbnail is blank
When I show a layer it appears on the page.
The thumbnail however does not change.

The behavior is same in Acrobat 11 as well. The thumbnails do not get refreshed till you close the document and reopen.

OIM 11g using too much memory and not releasing it when shutting down

Hello,
we have a problem with OIM 11g using too much memory (about 5gb) and it's not releasing it at shutdown (4gb still used).
We are using a VM with RedHat Linux 5.6. Originally we had 4gb RAM + 2gb swap file. We installed Admin Server, OAM, OIM and SOA on that machine but quickly realised we couldn't run all 4 programs at once in 6gb. AdminServer could run with 2 other products, but it was a tight fit in memory.
So we increased the RAM to 8gb (still 2gb swap file). But then our problem occured : I start the Admin Server (2.7gb total memory used), then OAM (4.6gb total memory used) and then OIM. After it started the server is now using 9.6gb of memory (~300mb of free memory) ! The problem gets even better : after I shut down everything (OIM, OAM, admin server) the "top" command show that there is still 4gb of memory used even tho nothing else is running on the server ! There is absolutely no other process (other than root stuff) running and no other users connected to the machine. After a reboot, it shows 400mb of memory used. I tried restarting the programs and it did the same thing.
Our intuition is that there might be a memory leak or some bug in OIM that might use up almost all the free memory and it's not releasing it upon shutdown. It might have been there before we increased the memory but have not noticed it since memory was already tight.
Anyone encountered the same problem ? Any idea ? Any suggestion to narrow down the problem ?

You can adjust the memory settings for WLS by editing the setSOADomainEnv.sh file that can be found in your /middleware/user_projects/domains/<domain>/bin/ folder. There is an argument called PORT_MEM_ARGS which is used to set your Java memory arguments. This way you can decrease/increase the amount of memory used by each managed server.
I usually type "ps -ef | grep oracle" to see what processes are running by the oracle user. This way the output doesn't get cluttered with root processes.

OIM 11g: UDF disappears from User Attributes page

Hi,
I was modifying a user defined attribute using the 11.1.1.3 User Attributes configuration page. All I did was change its category to move it to another section of the user profile page. The last remaining field in the category 'disappeared'. It just went from the list of fields in the category. The field still exists on the USR object and still contains all the values. But it's gone from the UI.
I exported the /file/User.xml from MDS and sure enough the missing attribute is not present in the User.xml file. It is there for the mapping to the back end column, and in another element. But the element that describes the field proper is not there. I've since added the attribute element back in manually and re-imported the metadata using the weblogic environment manager, but the field still does not appear.
So, my question is does anybody know where else OIM stores the attribute details? Is it in the DB somewhere and merely mirrored in the MDS? What do I need to do to restore the field? (I can't add it in because it says it already exists.)

I was unable to see the UDF's I had created on the user form until I set up a policy for them. Please check the policy around the UDF's.

SPRO->FINANCIALACCOUNTING>FINANCIAL ACCONTING& GLOBAL SETTINGS>TAX ON SALES /PURCHASE>BASIC SETTINGS--->CHECK CALCULATION PROCEDURE.
Here select you procedure and assign the CONDITION TYPE

Wage type is not reflected in the infotype

Hi experts,
I have created 3 wage types i.e Basic pay, HRA, and TA and i configured in 'Base Wage Type Valuation'
transaction too. But while creating the infotype 'basic pay', HRA is not reflected in the Amount field.
I have given 50% of Basic pay in the hra field as shown below in the transaction 'Base Wage Type Valuation'.
TARIF 0001 Basic Pay - BHEL 1 2009/01/01 9999/12/31 100.00
PRZNT 0002 HRA - BHEL 2 2009/01/01 9999/12/31 0001 Basic Pay - BHEL 50.00

What is maintained in the Indirect Eval. Module and Module Variant for HRA WT in its characteristic.
Change it to INVAL B for the calculation to happen based on percentage of Basic pay as defined by you.

Forms not opening in Self service login in Oracle Apps 11i

We had cloned one instance and after the clone the self service login is not opening . This is 11.5.8 version of oracle Applications.

The issue got resolved and the forms are opened . Issue is with the tnsnames.ora in $IAS_ORACLE_HOME/network/admin. we are doing this DB clone in new host and the host entires in tnsnames.ora is rooting to old host entires. We found that and corrected to the new host entries and the issue got resolved. Thanks for your suggestions.Thanks for share solution

Bg_absence_duration sql function not working in Self Services

I Have SQl Function registered and used in formula BG_ABSENCE_DURATION, it is working fine in the professional forms, but in "Leave management" form in self services it gives error:
PER_EMP_NUMBER not found at line 231 of bg_absence_duration Cause: a sql select statement obtained from application dictionary return no rows when executed.

Life Events Not Processed in Self Service

Hello All,
When the New Life Events are in Detected Status and you try to enroll the employee through self service , self service does not show the life event for enrolling.
After processing the life event from PUI , if I go to self service , then it allows me to enroll in to Benefits.
Any reasons why it would not process the Life Event In Self Service when its in Detected Status.

Analytic Server not reflecting in Shared Services Console

Everything was working fine until yesterday. Now the problem is i am able to connect to analytic server through admin console and excel.
But for provisioning a user when i log into shared services
http://servername:58080 brings up the user diectory list. When i click on a username and provision it. I dont find my analytic server on the left hand side (so i am not able to see the cubes available). I just dont have a clue why this is happeneing. There is just one tab as "Hyperion Shared Services" but the analytical server is missing.
Kindly help me on this. How can i proceed further.

this similarity is quite odd. Since last friday we are not able to connect o analytical service vua EAS/SS user management and also the analytical server windows services are not starting anymore, essbase logs gives 1 relevant message:
Analytical Services global application does not exist at Shared Services..
We have been changing ip numbers of servers (but flused dns cache too) and also changed default admin password.
I haven't got a clue what to do. Fortunately we are still in in an OTA environment

OIM 11g r2 Exchange connector provisioning is not working

I have created one user in oim and i have provisioned this user into AD successfully.
after that i have tried provision same user into Exchange but the user provisioning status is shows "*waiting*" and provision date also shows wrong.
Please any body help me on this issue..

Exchange goes to waiting status when AD is not listed in user's resource profile as Provisioned. Check whether AD is properly provisioned. It is better to always create a new process task before 'Create User' in Exchange resource object which checks whether AD is already provisioned for the user. Then this problem can be avoided.
Also when there are multiple AD resource object instances in user's resource profile and even one of that instance is in Provisioning status, Exchange goes to waiting status

OIM 11g R2 : deployment failed / soaconfigplan.xml not exist

I got my Weblogic, OIM, SOA installed. Then I tried to configure my security domain on Weblogic. I created a domain with OAM, then extended to SOA and then when I try to extend it to OIM I got the following error :
