KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS from Sims 2

All of a sudden this evening, I can't play Sims 2 for more than a minute without getting a "KERNINVALIDADDRESS" message in the application's crash log. It's driving me insane, and I'd love some advice on how to cure the issue! I've been playing the game for weeks now and this is a new occurance.

Calling Web Service from SIM

Hi all,
We have to call a web service from SIM.
I don't have any idea how to implement this.
Do we have to create a custom adapter for this, or we have to use SPML or we can call it direct from workflow?
Please suggest the appropriate option and also what kind of web services can be called from SIM i.e. they are as simple as other web services or there is any specific implementation details for that. In our web service we only have to call a method that accepts an integer argument and also returns an integer.
If there is any link or document that can be helpful please provide.

Calling direct to the web service does work. But the advantage of doing a resource adapter is that the calls are integrated into the standard IdM processing. So you will have the standard auditing and tracing capabilities and the ability to see the user in the IdM GUI etc.
I think as a short cut under time pressure calling direct is ok but architecturally the RA approach is probably better.
Also a precision: I should have said 'mix and match alomost certainly will not work, out of the box'. We did manage to make Sun JWSDP webservice code run in Web Sphere. But you have to bung all the jars you need into the idm war file and then do a tricky WASsy thing where you set the 'Parent Last' parameter on the IdM web app AND module (two levels) to ensure that the JWSDP classes are loaded before any WAS webservice classes. Oh joy.

Syncing contacts from sim card & merging with outlook

New phone - contacts from sim card were added to iphone. I do not have these in outlook but do have a few other "contacts" in outlook. I would like to keep all of the contacts on the phone and added to outlook. Will I lose my sim phone contacts because outlook contacts will be added to phone?

If you have contact entries on the iphone and the computer to which you are syncing, then you should be able to merge the two when you sync.

Import Contacts from SIM simply does nothing!

Hi All, I have new iphone 3g, and want to import my contacts from my old Orange SIM (the contacts have all been copied to SIM). I enter the SIM and select "Import from SIM" in the settings --> Calendar, Contacts etc section. The message says "Importing contacts" but then nothing! Nothing in my contacts, no failure messages, nothing!
Someone please help, I cat sync my old phone with outlook either. DISPAIR!

Some people have reported that it can take a little bit for the iPhone to translate and update your contact list.
Give it about an hour and check back to see if they have updated.

Provisioning LDAP roles from SIM

SIM Experts:
I am trying to provision LDAP roles from SIM into our local IPlanet/Sun DS LDAP instance.
When I created the resource in SIM, I noticed it didnt rope in the built in roles from our LDAP instance, just as it did LDAP groups.
I tried to circumvent this by :
1. Creating individual Role_<> attribute entries in the LDAP resource schema which in turn get mapped to 'nsRoleDN' from LDAP.
2. Create 'Roles' in SIM mapped to the LDAP resource and set attribute values for the 'Role_<>' attributes (added earlier to the schema mapping) like -
Role_auditor : cn=Auditor,dc=example,dc=com
The hitch with this approach is if I add multiple roles to the account (during creation), only the last role gets added .. in other words, I see only 1 'nsroleDN'' entry.
I do not know if this the right approach, but could someone suggest a better alternative, if there is one.

... although, as indicated getRoles should return a list of Role names as well... If you create a variable in the workflow and populate it with this call... it should be a List. [item1,item2,item3] may just be the trace representation of a list.

Tracking Reason Codes from SIM

hi all,
i some questions on how reason codes are tracked in the system. i know that after setting a reason code for a inv. adj. in SIM it is through RMS and finally ends up at some stock ledger system, but what i really want to know is exactly how this is doen. i have a few questions, if anyone could fill me in would be most appriciated.
1. a reason code sent from SIM is mapped to an acount in order to create an appropriate credit. now, as i understand it, these accounts contain all credits for a certain type (lets say "damaged") compiled together. looking into that account one would not be able to track the specific inv. adj. am i correct?
2. are reason codes in any way linked to tran codes? if so - how, and is anyone dependent on the other? and if not, is it possible to link them together?
what im trying to get at here is really if the tran.codes govern (or could) govern the reason codes in any way?
any answers would be most appriciated- thanks!

INV ADJUSTMENT Reason Codes and tran codes do have a relationship :
query inv_adj_reason in RMS, field COGS_IND dictates which tran code will be used, Inventory Adjustment (Other than Unit & Dollar) stock take, will use either tran code 22- Stock Adjustment or 23-Stock Adjustment COGS.
how is it used, if you setup an adjustment reason as COGS_IND ="Y" then trancode 23 will be used, if the flag is "N" then trancode 22 will be used, the very essence of it is to financially map them into the respective accounting system as COGS or expense(depends on the FISICAL rules of the land ie VAT etc).
this reason codes from systems like SIM/ORWMS etc will be recorded in trandata tables under GL_REF_NO field, which can be mapped, using FIF_GL_CROSS_REF table tran_ref and trancode/dept/class/location combination into any debit or credit account.

that happens for people who used icloud for everything but contacts. When they updated and went through initial
set up, signing into cloud enabled everything including cloud for contacts. Since they had zero contacts in cloud, cloud cleaned out their contacts, but synced everything else that icloud has, like calendars, reminders etc. If those contacts were never backed up anywhere - they gone. If there is back up in cloud, it needs to be restored.
Contacts sync in the cloud need to be turned off, right after restore.

Either the contacts were not actually stored on the SIM, the SIM memory is defective, or they are in a format not useable by the iPhone.
Go to one of your carrier's stores. Most carriers have equipment that can do this, see if they can extract them for you.

Print BI Publisher Report from SIM

Hi.
Can I set some parameters in the report link .xdo in SIM for print a report?
I want to print a report in XSL-XML (from XSL template) format by default!! (and NOT in XML Data BI Publisher).
Like: /folder/name_report/name_report.xdo?_xt=XMLDIRECT&_xf=txml.

I think you can create a default printer in BI that would print any report that is scheduled in BI. In windows you would be required to share the printer using IIS on linux you would be required to share the same using a CUPS server
