Kernel Change 7.00 -- 7.01 during SAP EHP4 SAINT
Hi!
I would like to upgrade SAP ECC 6.0 system to SAP EHP4.
My OS platform is Windows 32, so I use SAINT
Now I should change the Kernel from 7.00 to 7.01.
By doing so I go to directory E:\usr\sap\GTE\SYS\exe\nuc\NTI386 and change the kernel (SAPEXE, SAPDB, TP and R3Trans)
When I try to start my system the sapcpe.exe will be red
Do I need to change some additional binaries/DLL?
Thank you very much!
Hi,

I tried to follow the instructions in note 1269960, but the enhancement spot
CLASSIFICATION_TOOL was already active. I activated it again and reran the phase
but got the same error. Also, I couldn't implement the note using SNOTE because it is
the middle of the upgrade process.
I also found the following long text in ST22
"Internal error during syntax check: ("//bas/710_REL/src/krn/gen/scsymb.c#11"
Processing had to be terminated because an internal error
occurred when generating the ABAP/4 program
"CL_CLS_BADI_CHARACTERIZATION==CP".
The internal system error cannot be fixed by ABAP means only."
I am on a 64 bit System with CentOS Linux. 8 GB RAM, 250 GB HD with 20 GB free space.
So far, I could not find any information on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
VictorHi Victor,
Go to SM37 and put in the username as DDIC and see the job log.
Also check Sm50 and see whether you have BTC processes available.
Last but not the least check your filesystem space usage too.

kindly help me where i am going wrong.
Yours friendly,
Bharath.Hi Andreas,
many thanks to you for the timely help.
a.)I want to know why there is an error at brconnect ? why is it returning an error code (128) at UPDATE DATABASE STATISTICS stage.
I have read in this forum itself that the UPDATE STATISTICS need not be suceesfully completed and we can edit database.r3s
" ..on the other hand you can easily invoke the update statistics after the installation has ended (succesfully!)...edit DATABASE.R3S (or the appropriate template file you are using) by changing the status=ERROR to status=OK...this will let you finish the installation..-GreetZ, AH."
I have searched for this file (database.r3s) in my system in vain Where can i find this file database.r3s?.
Have i done any configuration mistake at the pre-installation stage. I have installed Oracle 9.0 using setup.exe of oracle. should i use sapserver.cmd to install oracle?.I havent applied any patch for Oracle 9.0
Should I apply any patch just the same way we do for Oracle 8.1.x ?. If so, where can i get the patch for Oracle 9.0 .?.
b.) You said there should not be any spaces in file path (ex: C:/SAPinst ORACLE KERNEL/) . But I havent specified file path, the r/3 setup itself has created the directory path.
c.) I want to know one thing- should we create a database before installing r/3. When we are installing Oracle 8/9. x what are the components that we are installing?
Your friend,
Bharath. -
Change of bin not possible during TO confirmation
Hi all.
I am trying to change the destination storage bin during transfer between bins (WM movement 309).
The strategy is fix bin (maintained in material master), so the TO is created with fix destination bin and operator must change it before confirmation.
For example, in GR it is possible to change destination bin during confirmation in transaction LT12 but not for transfer. The receiving storage type is the same in both cases. Is there any customizing missing?
Apart from this, is there any way to confirm items separately inside a TO? For example, during GR I try to confirm a TO in transaction LT11 for just one item and waiting for the rest to be placed physically in order to confirm all the TO but destination bin can not be modified in LT11. Is there any way to confirm item per item but allowing changing destination bin? it is possible to do it in LT12 but not in LT11.
Many thanks in advanced and best regards.Hi,
Generally, it is possible to change the destination bin during TO confirmation. However, this is not possible under the following conditions:
o With dynamic coordinates
o If the destination bin location is specified in the movement type
o For posting change transfer orders
o For the physical inventory using a putaway
o For the addition to existing stock for storage units
o For the transaction Confirm Single Item (transaction LT11)
o If a bulk storage type is involved in the stock movement
o In the event of an individual putaway strategy
o If the first item of a TO with storage units is already confirmed
since all the other items of the storage unit relate to the same
storage bin. When you save the first TO item, the system changes
the destination storage bin for all dependent items.
o If this is a replenishment transfer requirement for a fixed
storage bin.
Please see SAP Note number 443916 for an explanation.
Thank you.

How to change the billing qty directly during VF01 in AFS?
Dear experts:
Can anyone advise how we can change the billing qty directly during VF01 in AFS? Can anybody tell me why i can modify the billing qty in SAP R/3 ECC6.0, but it fail to in AFS, why?
The operation was:
1、I have to done one customising, in VOV7 for my Item category change the Billing Relevance to "K";
2、We setting up as Delivery note related billing and would like to change the qty at the point of billing;
3、Enter the Delivery note number Do not Press Enter, Then Click on u201Cselection listu201D, however , the field of "open quantity" is in greyed out mode !
In SAP R/3 ECC6.0 ,In transaction VF01 put the Delivery note NO. and before entering or executing go to "selection list" and we will find the quantities in editable mode and we can change there and then execute billing, but in AFS,the field of "open quantity" is in greyed out mode ! I asked a lot of friends in AFS, they also have this problem!
Thanks

Edited by: peter.lee on Nov 19, 2011 3:05 AMHi Guys,
Contrary to others IS (retail, oil etc...), AFS has been almost fully redesigned in some areas. That's why SAP releases first EHP business functions for standard and then try to enhanced the new created features later in AFS EHP.
In regards to the change of the billing quantity, from my prospective this is not supported. Quantity always comes from preceding document.
AFS is implemented in many industries like workwear, fashion high fashion, sportwear, underwear, bags etc...However I never got the same requirement to change the billing quantity.
For which reasons do you need to change the billing quantity ? Can this be done in the sales order (in case of debit/credit memo request) or in the delivery ?
The billing area has some restrictions, such as doing a pricing redetermination, in AFS it must be done in the sales order for example.
You could potentially ask SAP and see whether an advanced modification could be provided (this is chargeable).
Hope this might help.

Role of Time Mgmt functional consultant during SAP Upgrade from 4.7 to ECC6
Hi,
Could anyone explain the role of a time management functional consultant during SAP upgrade from R/3 4.7 to ECC6.0. Please provide me if you got any documentation.
Thanks,
Sunny"After you upgrade to SAP ERP 6.0, you can enhance the functionality of your application without performing a further
upgrade thanks to a new deployment technology u2013 the SAP enhancement package for SAP ERP. The enhancement
packages simplify the way you manage and deploy new software functions for SAP ERP." - that is the real benefit of ECC 6.0
There aren't any major changes to PTM functionalities from 4.7 to 6.0. I hope your system is already using IT 2006 instead of IT 0005. Under functional role, you are required to configure/test any functional upgrade and manage data.

SAP Interview question "What is risk or most difficulty during SAP implemen
Hi all,
A interviewer ask me a question "what is risk or most difficulty during SAP implementation, please list at least 4 answers".
Do you have experience in SAP implementation, if you have, what do you think?
Thanks in advance.hi,
Risk is in Mass maintainence...
Deletion / changes in the data's....
Covering of the abnormal requirement like gate pass etc...these are also called GAPS in sap...
Posting periods opening/closing from MMPV is very risky and if opened for the next month instead of the current month, then its bit difficult....
Hope it helps...

How to properly install updates with kernel changes on MBP w/ SSD
I downloaded and installed Yosemite security update 2015 003, and on reboot it would have a progress bar of the updating which would not complete and would show the prohibited sign (circle with a line through it).
I tried the following:
I held the power button to shut it down and perform a hard restart, the problem would not go away.
Tried clearing the PRAM, but since it was in the middle of the update reboot, it was busy and would not properly clear the PRAM. No chimes.
I tried holding option to select the boot drive manually, but that did not work either. I could not even get to the boot drive selection screen. Just the continued seeing prohibited sign.
I was able to plug in my external hard drive and boot from that after multiple tries to use Disk Utility to restore my backup partition onto the internal SSD. Luckily, I frequently backup, so I didn't lose any data by being forced to wipe my SSD and restore my backup.
This is on a 13" MBP 7,1 (Mid 2010) with an aftermarket Intel SSD and 8GB of aftermarket RAM. Had TRIM enabler installed and on when downloading and installing the update. Is that the cause? After researching this and coming up with no solution, I discovered this security update seems to change the kernel. Is this kernel change conflicting with TRIM enabler? What causes this hanging problem when attempting to update? I have done multiple "Computer must restart to install changes" updates on this SSD in the past without this problem happening.I don't know enough to explain it. I've read that you need to disable TRIM before upgrading to Yosemite. And disable it before doing updates. Updating may not always cause problems, but you never know till it happens. Enabling TRIM disables Apple's security measures built in and this may be why a Security Update affected it.
Here is one article on TRIM with Yosemite:

Change font size of WEBGUI in SAP ERP
Hi all,
I need to change font size of WEBGUI in SAP ERP.
It is easy to change it in Webgui of SAP BI, using Internet Explorer functionalities (View -> Text size -> Largest), but same procedure doesn't work for transactional SAP modules (i.e. SAP HR).
Do you know how I can change the font?
Alternatively, do you know if it exists any patch or support package to resolve the problem with IE?
Thank you in advance,
regards
katiaHi Katia,
there is - as far as I know - no way to change the fonts size of the WebGUI screens. The way the lay-out of the Dynpro screens and its controls is determined does not allow to scale by different font sizes.

On my iPhone 5, the battery symbol and percentage won't change, even while charging or during usage throughout the day. The battery is however charging and draining properly from what I can tell.
Has anyone had this issue or know of a fix?
ThanksTry this
Restart iPhone: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart (no data will be lost).
Using the phone while charging doesn't create a problem.. I do it all the time -
How to change the field length in standard sap program.
Hi All,
How to change the field length in standard sap program.
Urgent
Example:
Text1 type c length 75,
To change :
Text1 type c length 150,
Point will be rewarded..
Thank you,
Vikram.CIf the only solution is to change the sap standard program, simply change the program, it will prompt for an access key. This key can be retrieved in the SAP support portal (service.sap.com) at keys and requests, sccr keys, register object.
Sometimes these actions are outsourced to a competence center, so maybe youre not entitled to do this, in any case ask a resident senior developer for support.

Problem after deinstallation of JDK during SAP System running....
Hello...
I am working as a SAP BASIS trainee.I am facing some problem related with java and SAP System.
Actually an SAP System was already running on the my system and suddenly i required to work on eclips (an IDE for java). And to install eclips it required JDK 1.6 version. But as we know that for SAP System an JDK 1.4 version required only.
I forgot and deinstalled JDK 1.4 and Installed JDK 1.6. and again tryied to installed eclips bt it was still throwing an error that it required JDK 1.6 and currently JDK 1.4 is running.
On the other hand SAP System was getting problem during SAP START ( dialog queue waiting time elapsed .......). and finally not working.
I deinstalled JDK 1.6. now SAP System is working fine. It is getting started and everything is right.
Could i get any problem latter regarding to SAP Start??and why i cant use eclips on the same system??
Thanks in advance.
Uttam Kumar.> Could i get any problem latter regarding to SAP Start??and why i cant use eclips on the same system??
You need to make sure that the SAP system uses the correct JDK. You can install two JDKs in parallel (don't upgrade but install the 1.6 JDK in a separate directory).
Anyway, NWDI should not be installed on the server but on a local workstation.
