Key Rejected with Windows 7 RC1

Trialling our CS4 DP software on W7RC1.
No problem installing (I may have needed to Run as Admin on a 2nd attempt).
Software seems to be running OK.
BUT the site licence for WIndows CS4 is declared not valid. X
Is W7 treated as the wrong OS for the key and so causing the key to be rejected
...or is this only because it's not internally flagged as a released OS=Windows ?
Please advise me how to get the key to work or if there's some contact I should make to
get a W7-compatible key for our site - as a 2nd Trial period is a bit aggravating to establish :-}
Thanks.

Windows 7 hasn't even been released yet. FWIW I had no problem installing CS3 or CS4 in trial mode but never tried to activate them.
Like the rest of us testing Win7 you're on your own for support but please keep us posted of anything your find. It might be useful to Adobe or Microsoft.

  • SCP, SSH and SFTP in CMD / File-Explorer and SSH key management with Windows Credential Manger

Please add SSH, SFTP and SCP in CMD and File Explorer.
Also, allow us to copy to FTP in File Explorer.
Would be nice to have the SSH credentials managed by Windows Credentials Manager.

Even with the RHEL firewall completely disabled, it has the same upper limit. SCP between the Solaris systems, with ipfilter running on both systems and both systems on completely different networks, is not a problem. Between Solaris and RHEL, same network but different subnet, RHEL with no firewall running (only while troubleshooting this, don't panic), still a problem. Using PuTTY SFTP from/to any of the systems is fine, even though on different networks. The mtu on the RHEL was the same as the Solaris systems (1500) - changing values on the RHEL increased the upper limit but still hit a ceiling. Only have one RHEL system so I can't see whether RHEL-RHEL transfers are affected, only those between Solaris, PuTTY on Windows, and the one RHEL system.

  • Windows Vista RC1 + iTunes 7

    Hey,
I was just wondering if anyone knows what i can do with my iTunes. Here's my problem...
I'm using Microsoft Windows Vista RC1 x64. I've installed iTunes and I can use the iPod as an external storage device, as I always could with Windows XP Pro SP2. However, when I add music to the iTunes (from such as a CD that are stored in my Music folder), it "looks" as if it's uploading the song but it isn't.
I have the iPod as manual update, so i drag a track over, and it has the progress bar at the top centre saying "updating ipod, do not disconnect" so that's all well. But once that's finished updating, if i try and search for the track on either iTunes or my iPod, it's nowhere to be seen!
Does anyone have any ideas as to how i could solve this situaion or anything? (Other than restoring my iPod). I just want to really know if iTunes and iPod works with Windows Vista RC1 as i know there are some glitches in some programs running on Vista.
    Thanks,
    Chris.

Ok, uninstalled 7.0, put back 6.0! if anyone has same problem, or any problems with their ipod and itunes and is using 7.0 for god sake use 6.0!! 7.0 is poo! If you can't get access to 6.0, email me: [email protected] ill happily help you out.

  • Problems with Aluminum Mac Keyboard with Windows 7

I am able to yuse the key board with Windows 7 but not all the functionality is there. For instance I can not use the volume controls or the function keys or the number pad. When I check the drivers it shows the right keyboard. Any ideas?

Because this seems like more of a Windows 7 issue and not an iMac issue I would recommend you repost to the appropriate forum. For example if you are using Boot Camp then go to that forum or if you are using Parallel's that forum etc.

  • When I restart my computer and hold the option key after creating a bootable usb with windows 7 and partitioning only the original partition shows up. Not the windows one or the bootable usb.

Okay so first things first this isn't the newest macbook pro. When I open about my mac and go to system report it says it is a Macbook Pro 3,1 and the Boot Rom Version say MBP31.0070.B07. Originally when starting up Boot Camp Assistant there where only two options, the "create windows 7 bootable usb" was not there at all. So after some editing and helpful tutorials I was able to get the option show up and created a bootable usb with windows 7 and downloaded the support software onto a separate flash drive. Finally I did the last step and created a second partition for windows. Once the process is complete my computer automatically restarts.
This is where the problem is. Once my computer makes the booting up sound it doesn't load up windows it gets stuck on a apple logo as if it's trying to reastart normally and can't. So I shut down and this time I hold down the option key during start up. It brings up the main partition and some recovery thing but no windows partiton and no bootable usb.
I forgot to mention that I am running OS X 10.9.3. Okay any body want to help me out? Iv'e been at this for hours and can't get an inch closer to having windows. Please and thank you!
P.S. If I missed a discussion that answer my question just point me to it. Iv'e been looking for a while, but who knows i might have missed one.

The only known way to make it work on an external drive is by first installing Windows onto an internal drive, then cloning the install to an external Thunderbolt drive. Thunderbolt is seen as an extension of the internal bus, so Windows doesn't see it as an external device.

  • How to install Windows 8.1 with Windows 8 Product key?

I have purchased Upgrade pack from Windows 7 to Windows 8. I have also Updated the OS to windows 8.1 through Store. How to install Windows 8.1 with Windows 8 Product key?

The download link for the Windows 8.1 installer at the Upgrade with Product Key Only does not accept a Windows 8.0 product key. I ended up using the trick suggested by Andre Ziegler in this thread to obtain the 8.1 download independent of the Windows
Store, but I haven't yet checked if the 8.0 key works from 8.1 Setup.
I do IT for a living but I have plenty of family members that bring their notebook PCs to me and ask me to do the heavy lifting, and I'd rather not re-download the same 3.6 GB every single time someone tells me to fix their PC. I also want to be able to
re-install 8.1 from the source media in case of a catastrophic hard disk failure and I have to replace the disk.
As an aside, tools that retrieve product keys for installed products end up retrieving the 8.0 product key from an 8.1 install that was upgraded via the Store.  It kind-of makes sense that an 8.0 key could work to install 8.1 because 8.1 is supposed
to be a free upgrade for licensed 8.0 users, but this doesn't seem to work until after 8.1 is successfully installed via some trickery and the user supplies the 8.0 key to activate it.

  • Installing Windows 7 RC1 with Boot Camp AND Parallels?

I have a 24" iMac (2009 model) and have successfully installing Windows 7 RC1 using Boot Camp. No problems at all and everything is working fine. But now I'm contemplating purchasing Parallels and using Windows 7 in a window.
I just need to know the steps involved and how this works. First I purchase and install Parallels. Then I run it and somehow tell it to use my Boot Camp partition for the VM, right? In this way, I'm assuming I don't actually have to install Windows 7 again or make another partition, right? Once I get the VM installed, then I can either boot to Windows 7 from startup OR boot from within Mac OS using Parallels and it would be the same?
If I can do it this way, can anyone point me to step-by-step instructions on how to choose the right settings in Parallels? I have found instructions for installing Windows 7 using Boot Camp and Parallels separately, but not how to use the Boot Camp install for the VM in Parallels.

Wow, it was much easier than I thought it would be! Downloaded the trial of Parallels. Installed it and pointed it to my Boot Camp partition with Windows 7 installed on it. And minutes later, I'm up and running with Windows 7 in Parallels. Sound didn't work at first, but after I did a Windows Update, it installed the correct driver and now everything is working great. I can't believe how smooth this thing runs within Leopard. I allocated 1GB of RAM for WIndows 7 and it's seems fine so far, but I really haven't run any resource-intensive apps yet.

  • Brightness and volume control keys not working with windows 7?

brightness, volume control and some other keys keys are not working with windows 7 with macbook pro retina. Can I fix it?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Have you installed Boot Camp drivers? You need them to make your computer work properly on Windows, and to use your function keys as Play or Pause, volume and brightness keys.
To install them, follow these steps:
    1. Press the X key while your Mac is starting to start into OS X.
    2. Open Boot Camp Assistant and tick only the option to download Windows support software.
    3. Windows support software will be downloaded and Boot Camp Assistant will ask you to burn it into a DVD or USB drive, so do it.
    4. Start into Windows, insert the DVD or USB drive and install Boot Camp drivers. Your Mac and your volume and brightness keys will be working after installing the drivers

Yes, how do I enable the blue function keys on an old Pavilion N5445 with Windows XP?
The blue function keys currently do not work.

  • Windows 8.1 clean install with Windows 8 OEM key

Hello! I have a HP Probook 450 with Windows 8 preinstalled. I want to upgrade to Win 8.1, but I want to perform a clean install. Which means:  inserting the Win 8.1 DVD (I've downloaded the .iso from the internet.), formatting the disk, and at last, Windows 8.1 installation.
Will this work? I've read that my Win 8 OEM key, which is hardcoded in the BIOS, will not allow me to install Win 8.1. The HP forum users say here and here that it is possible to perform Win 8 clean install. How is with Win 8.1?

  • Windows 7 RC1 installs as  "Not Genuine"

I have successfully installed Windows 7 RC1 on my MacBook Pro. When I start Windows, I get a dialogue box advising me to "Activate Windows Now". However, it won't allow me to Activate - says that my pre-release version of Windows has expired. Windows also shows a static message in the lower right of the desktop which says:
    Build 7100
This copy of Windows is not genuine.
I am using a legal, ligitimate copy of Windows 7 RC1, downloaded from the MicroSoft Windows 7 RC1 website. Windows Update works fine and the Windows OS appears to be working apart from some weirdness with the trackpad and a few other (so far) minor issues.
Is this normal for a Windows 7 installation? If not, what is causing it?

I've been seeing that lately. But when I click on ACTIVATE it takes just fine.
One time I installed on one mobo and moved the drive and had to re-activate. Another time, used the 64-bit key but it was 32-bit version - but activation still took.
Because the download period was extended, my guess is there is a misconfiguration on the part of Microsoft activation servers and coding errors.

  • DirectAccess with Windows Azure Multi-Factor Authentication Server

    Hi,
We're having some troubles implementing OTP-functionality for our DirectAccess-solution. We have DA-server with dual nics (one internal and one external) behind a firewall. We are successfully running it with Windows 7 computers using certificates issued
by our own CA. Everything works fine (e.g. 6to4, Teredo and IP-HTTPS) and computers connect instantaneously.
Then we decided to try to implement OTP-functionality using Azure MFA. We have downloaded the on-premises installation and configured a server with a couple of trial users synced from our Active Directory. It works flawlessly when using the portal and the
built-in tests on the MFA. We receive the text messages promptly and are granted access.
However when we tried to connect it to our DA-server things got weird.
First of all our DA-server refuses to recognize our Issuing CA even though it is domain joined and published in our Active Directory. It worked the first time we went through the wizard, but even since it just keeps saying that "no CA servers can be
detected". We ended up doing it the
powershell way and the Operations status shows no error. When we added the Issuing CA and the Radius Server (our MFA-server) as Infrastructure Servers we got an error message saying that "One or more IP addresses of management server cannot be
added because they are associated with the web probe URL" (which they don't).
We went ahead and started testing the OTP-functionality - assuming this was some strange bug as well. Following the
closest thing to a requirement specification
we could find from MS regarding the certificates required. Both with a Windows 8.1 Ent-client and a couple of Windows 7 Ent-clients but neither are getting any password prompts. We can see with wireshark and in the logs that the DAProbeUser can communicate
between the DA and the MFA. If we try to access the DaOTP-IIS-site we get a certificate error. The IIS-certificate is issued from the same trusted Root CA as the client certificate and all certificates are valid. The CRL:s are accessible both externally and
    internally.
We are looking through the local computers OtpCredentialProvider logs but for the Windows 8.1-ones they are only saying Error 10001 (unable to send authentication information to daservername.domain.com error 12175). And for the Windows 7 clients we are getting
Error 10003 (Either private key cannot be generated or user cannot access certificate template on the DC. Which we verified that we can using the infrastructure tunnel only). No other IPv4 traffic seems to be communicated between the two servers according
    to Wireshark.
We have also tried using our SafeNet on-prem RADIUS-solution but no traffic seem to get sent to that server neither.
    So TL;DR:
    - Can anyone provide the precise certificate requirements for setting up DA OTP?
    - Are there any good tools for troubleshooting DA OTP-functionality?

    Hello Benoit,
Thank you for your reply. If we understood your blog post correctly then we are supposed to be able to access
    https://daserver.domain.com/DAOTPvirtualdirectory/DAOTPAuth.dll and not get a 403.7
error-page, even if the back-end Radius isn’t fully functional yet?
The DA server has the OTP signing certificate (confirmed this on the issuing CA and the server’s computer certificate store), it renews this certificate once per day (as per the
guide for the templates on: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh831715.aspx)
We’re not seeing any errors on the AD CS server, no requests, no rejections (for the client certificates), but this could be due to the settings followed for the client template
on the TechNet guide (Do not store certificates and requests in the CA database)?
What do you mean with "IF OTP
signing certificate is not present on client-side, OTP authentication cannot work"? The signing certificate should be on the server side, or are we mistaken?
    Also, according to
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh536654.aspx
    it is stated:
“2.The administrator establishes one or more implementation-specific<1>CA servers”
But other guides specifically mention that you can use your current CA environment and that you’re not required to install a dedicated CA for this particular task.
