Keyboard surface with waves

Hy,
After adding some more RAM to my iBook (by myself), the keyboard is no longer a plain surface bus has a more wavey surface (like a bump in the middle).
It's still working but it just looks and feels a little out of sync.
The keyboard is properly locked with those 2 little plastic things at the margins and with the one in the middle. It just looks strange.
Also, the keyboard was rather hard to take out, as if that middle screw is blocked or something. I tried rotating it but didn't make it easier (yes, that small plastic piece did move).

You do not have the keyboard installed properly.
Remove the keyboard and carefully ensure that the bottom edge engages correctly before snapping the keyboard down into place.

No, it would not. The Surface is optimized and uses a different operating system than iOS7.
I'm pretty sure that both the Surface and iPad Air can use Bluetooth; but Bluetooth peripherals might or might not be recognized.

Keyboard issue with cursor jumping to point on the page when typing

When I type on my notebook keyboard (HP Pavilion dv6-6167cl) it frequently jumps somewhere else in the area where I previously typed causing me to stop and correct what it did and move back to where I intended to type. I have the latest driver for my Synaptics Touchpad driver already. Any idea why this happens. This is my second laptop, different manufacturers where I've had this same problem so I'm beginning to think it's a common issue with notebooks. Any suggestions? Thanks.

It may be inherent to the way in which you use the devices (keyboard and Touch/ClickPad). Maybe not ... the drivers are not perfect. We can all attest to adventures with Clickpad mystery entries..
Depending on the level of touch sensitivity (located under Pointing)
AND the level in the PalmCheck-Enhanced ACM setting, things can get a bit weird; even touching the surface lightly can set the mouse cursor off course.
Consider / try the following:
In your Synaptics Settings > Properties,
Open the Pointing section,
Click on Sensitivity (to highlight) >> click on Spikey blue wheel (Sensitivity settings) >
Set the sensitivity level way over to the right side (Less sensitive)
Apply
Next:
Click to Open PalmCheck-Enhanced ACM >> click on Spikey blue wheel (settings)
Slide the PalmCheck over to the RIGHT to Max
Apply
Youcan adjust the Advanced filter zone - that is, control where you can use the TouchPad for certain gestures and how long it takes for the zone to activate. This can help for particular kinds of gestures, though it won't help for accidentally contact like brushing the surface with the palm of your hand.
These settings, when set to maximum,are likely too extreme - they may give you an idea whether the issue is related to how you are using the TouchPad.

Why is disk optimization not available on our Surface with 8.1?

We have a Surface with Windows 8.1 RT. When I go to the Tools and try to Optimize (trim) the SSD it says "Optimization not available" and the Analyze and Optimize buttons are greyed out. I've seen posts where others are able to optimize
their drives, so what am I missing in this case. I checked the Services for Optimization and it was set to manual, but even when turning it on at startup automatically it makes no difference. Any ideas on how to optimize on the Surface?
Why is the option available if you can't use it?

S. Sengupta, I think you are missing the point of my original post. Of course I know you don't defrag an SSD. But you can optimize them using Trim. I have two other notebooks running Windows 8.1 and both have the ability to optimize the
SSDs as shown in the screenshot AnaBna posted. This is not normal behavior for the options to be greyed out, and only our Surface with 8.1 RT exhibits this behavior. Possibly this IS normal for a Surface, and if there is anyone else out there with
a Surface (regular, not Pro) willing to look they can tell me if theirs is also un-optimizable. The only thing that makes me think other's with a Surface can optimize is that when I searched for a solution to this others mention they can do this on their
Surface.
I say this with all respect, but I think sometimes on this forum people just fire off answers very quickly without really reading the whole question or knowing the answer just to get credit for posts and points.

Problem with Wave Burner

I'm having a problem with Wave Burner hanging when I try to play audio files. The last time I used it, several months ago, all was well but now after importing my audio files and pressing play the program hangs up and can only be closed with force quit. This also happens opening saved files which played previously. Logic and Pro-tools are still working fine. No problems there.
Im using a digi003 with Core Audio. Logic 8.02 OS version 10.5.8. I mac 2.66 dual.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I thought I'd try this again
In Wave Burner if I select the internal audio as playback it works. It's only when I select the Digi003 as playback that it hangs. It used to playback through the 003 fine.

Keyboard problems with Enter, delete, backspace, and right/left arrows

In some applications, such as Yahoo and this message block right now !!, when composing a message, the arrow keys and delete, backspace keys become non responsive. Various ones will work on a random basis.
I am getting double "carriage returns" also. Maybe this is why in Omegle when I press ENTER, it will not post a chat message; it will bring up a scroll box and for me to post the comment, I have to use the mouse to click ENTER.
I have changed batteries in my keyboard, uninstalled /reinstalled Firefox. I have checked the above websites in Chrome and other browsers, and there are no problems.
This has happened before, I don't recall what the solution was or if it just went away.'''

The ZAGG keys Universal Keyboard is a Bluetooth keyboard that the manufacturer states is "compatible with most IOS devices" but does not list Apple TV specifically, though the the different IPADS that are compatible are listed.
I did contact the manufacturer through an online Sales Associate Chat on their website and ironically they could not answer me. They did take my email and stated they will research and get back to me. That was only yesterday, 10/7/13 so I will give it a few days.
I know there are other keyboards available, so maybe I will just research a little more.

Having trouble with wav files and sample rates

Hi ,I am having trouble with wav files and sample rates .I have been sent multiple projects on wav as the main instrumental ; I wish to record in 48.000kHz .Now comes the problem.When I try to change the project to 48k It seems to pitch up the track.I can't have them send the logic/project file as most have outboard synths,different plug ins etc.This particular case the producer has recorded the synth task in 41.000 kHz .My successful outcome would be to be able t create a project file in 48 kHz .And NOT pitch up whne I add the instrumenta wav file .Any help would be gratefully recieved,this is my first post so any mistakes I may have made go easy

You'll have to convert the actual synth audio file file that the producer gave you to 48kHz. You can do this in the audio Bin in Logic.

Keyboard shipped with Pavilion non-standard number keypad

Hello, I advised a friend to buy an HP Pavilion 550 desktop for use at her office. She is a bookkeeper and relies heavily on the number pad on the right side of the keyboard. The keyboard that shipped has a non-standard numeric keypad where the "0" key has a right facing arrow instead of the "0" key. Financial people cannot function with this type of keyboard. I had never seen a keyboard like this before and cannot imaging why HP shipped something that is not standard. I asked her to contact HP support, since there must have been a mistake. HP support offered to SELL her a new keyboard, but would not replace the keyboard shipped with the PC. The PC is brand new and just came out of the box! This is an embarrassing display of our support for our products. Please help.

i suppose you could do that - but that seems like a royal pain, and certainly not the graceful experience that apple is known for.
Alternatively - i have found you can just type CHA CHA in text with the keyboard and it translates it into numbers accordingly.
Still - a jarring experience, i prefer the other way. Oh well.

You changed the proper preference, but you don't need to relaunch iTunes. You do, however, need to click the blue OK button at the bottom right of the preferences window. The change will happen then.

I'm sorry, John, but your statement seems like utter nonsense and is misleading for others. First being able to update apps doesn't cross my mind as a main functionality for travel. Second I was just travelling to SC and easily installed a new app from iPhone and updated an existing one. In your case I believe there's a mishap with AppStore. Probably you have a false update notification. Just compare versions of the apps you have with the versions of the same apps AppStore shows. I bet version are same. That's why it doesn't let you install.
If you want to sync your iPhone Contacts and Calendar (which seems more like a genuine travel requirement) you can do it via MobileMe or Yahoo and few other similar web services.

D.p.middleton the Adobe Application Manager has been available for quite some time. It not only allows Creative Cloud users to install their applications but also downloads and applies applicable updates. In addition it is also responsible for the licensing and managing your agreement to the terms and conditions of the EULA.
2. this could be due to you selecting a trial subscription to the Creative Cloud? If you go to one of the Adobe Creative products and select Help>Updates it will launch the update portion of the Adobe Application Manager which I believe is the portion you are looking for?
#3 I believe this was already mostly covered in the answer to #2.
#4 the Adobe Application Manager also receives periodic updates which affects both perpetual and Creative Cloud subscription users.
