Keyframe troubles

Im trying to keyframe an image to follow a really small ball but when im trying to do this all the little blue things that let me move the image is in the way of the small ball so i cant see where it is going which means i cant move the image to follow the ball as i cant see the ball if you understand me
is there anyway i can get rid of the little blue guides?
heres an image of what i mean i just want the image i can move not all the little blue circles around

You could just use the Tranform controls in the inspector (you can click, drag up or down on any number to change its value.)
However, it is much easier to keyframe an object on the canvas and you can't get rid of the controls if the Transform tool is selected. So, grab a corner - and scale up the item (2-300%). Set the Compositing > Opacity to about 30-50% (so you can see your "target") - then keyframe using the center onscreen control (OSC). When you're done, go back to Transform > Scale and from the disclosure triangle that appears on the right edge when you mouse over the paramter click and select Reset Parameter. Do the same for Opacity. You'll have a keyframed object, and reset to its initial "look". It's not as "obnoxious" as it sounds.

  • Keyframing trouble, Purple flash on PNG file

Ive been keyframing a PNG file and seem to be getting purple flashes at some point during editing. I tried rendering it and still flickers sometimes.. Help???

I don't know about the innards of the READ PNG FILE vi, but it's possible there is wastage in copying and resizing internal buffers.
That is what i was thinking too, it's a shame i cant view the inner workings and create a similar VI with a smaller data type output specifically for 1-bit color depth files, and also try to minimize the number of copies in memory.
Though I would expect it to know that at the start and not waste time trying.
In any case, if you can read the file piecemeal (you'll have to know the PNG spec for that), then you can count them.
That was my next step if i cant manage to get it working with more RAM and the built-in Read PNG File.vi.  This would also take considerably more time as i would have to learn the PNG spec and write somethign to read it
         from scratch
Or maybe you can use an estimate? Open it in PicViewer and take a snapshot, then count the pixels in that and scale it up.
Unfortunately I cant use an estimate.  The reason we are using such a high resolution is that we are trying to very accurately measure the area of the black pads on this print.  The reason we thought this might be a viable method is
that this scanner can output up to 19200 dpi resolution, allowing us to measure down to ~50 um per pixel.

  • Why am I having trouble cutting and pasting shape animation keyframes?

Thank you for taking a look at my little problem...
I am creating a shape animation - a simple box that "dances". I create eight keyframes with control point changes. After the eighth keyframe I want to begin with the first again, by cutting an pasting the keyframes I've already created. When I try to paste one or more keyframes after the eighth keyframe, the pasted keyframe(s) produce unintended results. Point one seems to reset to 0,0 - and the others do not reflect the pasted keyframe either.
Is there something I am missing about cutting and pasting keyframes in the shape animation parameter?
    Thanks

Thanks Zoom - This will probably be the solution for me. Unfortunately there is some underlying problem going on. I can't get the "repeat" option by clicking and holding on the keyframe, but I can get it in the right column of the keyframe editor. But when I select repeat it doesn't change anything. I even selected "generate keyframes" - nothing. However, the program did slow down as though I had done something, and the "undo repeat" option was available in the edit menu. So the program thinks it did something. I'll keep poking around...

  • Newbie having trouble with keyframes

I'm a newbie to Flash, and have just started going through
    the online tutorial here:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/intro_flash_pt2_04.html
This is the problem I'm having: In the section "Creating a
frame-by-frame animation", when I have created the symbols, and
want to edit them, the Properties Inspector shows that the images
are bitmaps, not movie clips. Why is this? Shouldn't they have
become movie clips when I created the symbols, renamed them, and
saved them as movie clips? Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
    Text
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/intro_flash_pt2_04.html

Did you have the bitmaps selected and chose "Modify - Convert
to Symbol" (F8) when you "created the symbols"?
Or did you select "Insert - New Symbol" (Ctrl-F8)? This would
of course have created empty movieClips and left your bitmaps
    untouched.

  • How do I make Photoshop CS6 keyframe panning work with many clips?

    Hello Photoshop experts:
I am having big troubles with applying keyframe controlled panning in Photoshop CS6.  After reading chapter 10 of Photoshop CS6 CIAB, I added a simple cloud animation to my video.  The original video/audio track is in Video Group 1.  I pasted a simple JPEG graphic of a white cloud in to Video Group 2, without anything else in that group.    Following the CIAB directions, I was easily able to make the cloud pan across the top of my video.  Ah, this is easy I thought!
Then, I added a second cloud, this time it was black.  I added this to Video Group 2, right after the white cloud.  Here is where the troubles began.....  I would highlight the image frame of the black cloud, move the playback head/cursor to the right end of the black cloud clip, then click on the "Position" clock to install a yellow diamond keyframe marker.  At that instant, the selected clip of the black cloud would de-select, and the white cloud clip would select instead.  As soon as the white clould was selected, then I couldn't click and drag the black cloud, as that frame was no longer selected.  So, I would click the mouse back on the black cloud frame, and try and set the second key frame marker at the beginning of the black cloud frame for where I wanted the black cloud to sit at the start of the pan............  But then no motion would take place as I advanced the cursor across the frame.
So, I started a Video Group 3, and moved the black cloud into that.  Then, without problems, I was able to use the key frame markers to control the panning of the black cloud across the frame,,,,,,,,,,,  ah, this is easy!  But then, I put in a red  cloud onto Video Group 3, and guess what?  It would not work, the same as before, it only wanted to jump to the black cloud clip as soon as I had set the first key frame marker on the pink cloud.
Note, underneath the first still image clip that I successfully automated the zoom function, there appears a violet shaded area under that clip, going from the starting key frame marker to the ending key frame marker.  It seems as though this should be telling me something, as only the working automated panning sections have the light violet highlighting.  But I can't move or eliminate that highlighting, or get it to associate with the clip I am trying to work with, after the first instance.
I have about 75 little clips I need to pan and zoom in on, and I am NOT going to make an individual Video Group for each clip!  Something is wrong.  I have spent about 5 hours banging my head on this today, and about 2 last night......
    A) Maybe this is too confusing, but if someone can say what is wrong, I would appreciate any help.
    B) Can you recommend an appropriate video (YouTube or other free source) that would shine light on this?  The only videos show just one simple segment getting automated panning applied,,,,,,,,,,,  my problem does not exist in that simple case.
    Thanks, Chuck

  • Keyframes Not Smooth

    Hello,
I'm newly working with Premiere, I haven't used it in a few years because I've been working with Final Cut.
But I'm having a problem with keyframes.  I don't know if it is just not smooth or if its a glitch but my motion through keyframes bounce and are jittery.
Here is a video clip of it.
    http://www.vimeo.com/12830032
I've messed with the bezier settings and nothing will render smooth.  Any ideas?
    -Jaeson

I'm not seeing Hold keyframes...? They look like regular ol' Bezier keyframes to me.
My guess is that you need to set spatial (not temporal) interpolation to linear, from the default Bezier. With spatial (that is, position) changes, the Bezier interpolation can create some pretty weird and usually undesired side effects.
Beyond that, the effects you're using might be causing the problem. I've often had trouble getting Basic 3D to animate cleanly; at times it will just throw random garbage frames into the mix, completely inexplicably. Also, if you turn off the Bevel Alpha and Drop Shadow effects, do you get the same result? I've noticed some oddities and unexpected behavior with some of the effects that modify clip alpha channels, as those do.

  • Audition 'keyframing' for effects?

Hello - I apologize if this has been covered; I triedto search the forum, but ot be honest, I'm not sure what to search for. Here's my problem- my organization switched to almost all Adobe products for our creative work, and it hasn't been much trouble on the video side (Premiere is pretty similar to FCP, etc.), but for whatever reason, both Audition and Soundbooth are kicking my teeth in- I've used mainly Cakewalk products to this point.
I need to know if Audition is capable of adjusting the intensity of effects over time- sort of like an audio equivalent of keyframing- like if I was using an echo effect, could I fade it in and out over the course of time, etc. (not fade the track, but just the intensity of the effect). I apologize if it's a silly question or if I'm overlooking something elementary. I've no idea how to search for the solution in Adobe's help file or here or anywhere else- we did this easily in SONAR, so it seems like there should be a way to do it in Audition.
Anyhow, apologies for the long post, and a bad question if it is one,e but anyone who can help me will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
    Steve

Oh, man, Suite Spot, Steve G, you guys are the BEST! I figured out how to find the automation lanes- that's exactly what I was looking for. Now, the effects I've experimented with seem to only be toggling- I can ramp the 'strength' of the effects, but they seem to 'come on' or 'go off' instead of fading in or out. Also, it seems like the automation only controls the effects rack for a particular track, instead of being able to 'keyframe' (don't know what the right term is) each effect independantly. Nevertheless, now that I know where the automation lane is, I'm confident I can figure out the rest by experimenting with it. If I run into anything else, I'll run it by y'all, but for now, I'm very satisfied with this. Thanks so much, guys.

  • Keyframing video effects??? Please help

hello, I am trying to keyframe a video effect, "line art" in particular off...eg have line art keyframe to the original clip. Within the filters tab of the viewer I only have options to keyframe specific parameters of this effect however there are no combinations of these parameters that will allow me to keyframe back to the origianal video.
The only way that i can do something similar is to stack the same clip on 2 tracks and keyframe opacity.
    Is there an easier way??
    Thanks for your help

I'm not having trouble with dissolve keyframing. Im using 9 individual frames to make a grid with transitions throghout. < </div>
That's a completely different situation than the one you posted originally.
Nest the nine frames. Apply individual keyframes as you call them for other effects to the separate layers in the upstream sequence. Apply your dissolve or keyframe off as you say to the nested sequence in the downstream version.

  • Trouble with a Flash Component

I'm sorry if this question has been asked before. If I had
more time, I would have searched the forums, but I'm kind of on a
time limit. I'm having trouble wtih getting a goto command to
translate through a scrollpane. I have a movie clip with about 16
thumbnails lined up vertically. Each thumbnail is a button. This
movie clip is targeted by a scrollpane, which is in a layer by
itself in the scene. I need to be able to click on a thumbnail and
have the scene go to a specified keyframe. So, far I'm having no
luck. If you're a kind soul, here is a link to my fla file:
    http://www.ljdezigns.net/Flash/main.fla.
    It's in scene 3. I'm confused.....Someone.......help?

You need the 10.1.1 update. Be sure to read the
    documentation. This
update requires some effort to install.

  • Keyframing in motion4?

    Hi all.
I am having trouble moving an oject around a canvas in Motion 4.
I have made the object 3d, it is a "Clockwork" particle and it is tilted backwards.
I now want it to move around the x and y axis of the canvas.
But when I engage the motion button and keyframe as normal I see the motion poits but the object does not move.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi Will,
Sorry for the late reply, I've been away on a shoot. I couldn't find a solution anywhere else so a created one of my own for you.
I notice that you have a camera at the top. When you track a particle it only occurs on the birth of that particle. So the position is held in 2d or 3d space for it's entire life at the position of the emitter at that time. That's so that if you have a 3d particle and want the camera to move around it, it stays in place.
So I figured, "what if you attach the camera to the track? - of course it will happen back to front unless you use a stabilise". So I moved the Match Move to the Camera, reattached the source to the tracker and made the camera a 2d camera. I then went to the camera properties and made the rotation of x and y to be 180º.
    And it works
    Hope it works for you

  • Trouble stopping a motion tween

    Hello,
I'm new here and to Flash CS5.  I'm having a lot of trouble stopping motion tweens.  (No troubles with a Classic Tweens).  When I have a layer with the animation, and then use the code snippets to insert a stop(); ...it won't stop. If I create a layer below the motion tween, put a keyframe in and place a stop there, it stops just fine.  However, I've been told this isn't correct, that all actions should happen on the Actions layer.  I'm sure I'm over looking something fairly simple, any help would be appreciated.  I've added a couple of screen shots to try and clairfy the situation, if you need anything else let me know
    This dosen't work
    This does work
    Thanks
    Billy

as far as flash is concerned, you can put that stop() in any layer.  layers don't even exist in your swf.  they exist in the ide strictly for user convenience.
that said, it is a good practice to centralize code as much as you can.  so, if you're coding on a timeline, putting the code in its own layer is better than spreading it across several layers.  but, your code will work without problem when spread across several layers or when placed in your background layer.
anyway, if code in your Actions layer fails and code in your background layer works, the code is not the same in each layer.

  • How do I adjust keyframes for smoother movement in FCPX?

I am having a lot of trouble adjusting keyframes in Final Cut Pro X.  I have a video project that is 97% still images. All I want to do is simple pans and zooms across the picture. The keyframes in FCPX are giving me nightmares.  I spent all day trying to figure this out.  Please help!
First I tried to apply Ken Burns to my first still image.  This effect has the image start slowly, then picks up speed, then slows back down to stop.  That's not what I want.  I want constant movement.  How do I adjust the easing in and out?  If not, then this is a beautiful but completely useless effect.
So next I try to manually keyframe.  I select my first still image, click Transform, then option-click to put the first keyframe.  I move the position, then do the second keyframe.  Again, it wants to ease in and out.  So I click on the "Video Animation Editor". In the Position area it shows a keyframe at the beginning and ending of this still image.  But all I can do is drag these around.  How do I see the path and adjust/remove the easing in/out?
I look up in the Viewer window.  When Transform is on, there is a bounding box with blue dots, but where is the keyframe interpolation editor?  How do I find it?  How do I adjust any keyframes?  In the upper right hand, I can delete a keyframe or move back and forth to the previous/next keyframe, but that's it?
This has been so frustrating, and I'm working on a paying project for a client.  If you can supply any help I would GREATLY appreciate it!
    Sincerely,
    Paul

Thank you Russ, this certainly helps me out a little bit.  It's not made very clear in other places I've seen that you have to click on the keyframe in the middle of the picture.  Throughout most of yesterday I was clicking on the keyframe in the upper right corner and nothing was happening.  But this all still feels kinda limited however especially compared with what I could do in FCP7.  Is this all FCPX has to offer?  Perhaps I don't understand how this works?
When I click on the keyframe, I get only two choices, linear or smooth.  Yet, the still image still does this ease in and out thing.  How can I adjust that?  Aslo, how can I make constant movement? If I want it to go from picture to picture with constant movement, never starting and stopping, how do I make that happen?

  • 3d Keyframe deletion?

I am having trouble "resetting" an animation I made in PS CS6 using the 3d Scene Position tab in my timeline.
I set my keyframes and made the movements and made a decent little video, however when I went to rework the timeline, removing the keyframes did not remove the "movement"
Does anyone know how to remove all of the "moves" so that I am starting from a static 3d image again?
This image is a can I made myself with the lathe and has a label wrapped around it.
    thanks!
    ross

I did try that after seeing it in a tutorial online. first I manually removed them, then I clicked on the stop watch, removing all visible keyframes.. but the moving the playhead shows that the animation is still in there. I never clicked on any other keyframe layers and all my stopwatches are "clear".. Maybe I need to reboot. thanks for your help though!

  • Trouble with Motion Tween (Can't find answer)

        Hello,
I've been having trouble using a motion tween in an animation I'm creating. I have an object (a cartoon character's talking head) that I'm trying to move along a motion tween. At one point I want to make him stop moving for a beat, then continue. However, when I have two keyframes in the same place, the object will move up and down between the two keyframes that have the same position and rotation. When I click on the tween's path, I don't see anything that would make the object move (at least I don't think so, it's a small movement),
I looked around and couldn't find any fixes on the interwebs. However, it does seem similar to the "boomerang effect" of motion paths in AE. Especially since it appears to only happen when I make the motion paths into a curve.
    I'm using Flash CS4.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

i'm not arguing with you.  i'm just telling you how to prevent tweening between two frames.
if you want to do it your way, do it your way.  but, while it may seem obvious to you that there should be no tweening between two keyfames with identical content, it's not obvious to flash especially when you add a motion tween between those two identical keyframes.
that said, you should double check the two keyframes and make sure the object's properties are indentical (using the properties panel).
