Keynote does not autosave

My keynote presentation suddenly will not autosave; nor can I duplicate or rename it. Any ideas?

Maybe I didn't understand well what you said but it is possible to export a Keynote file with embedded Quicktime movies to a quicktime movie. Actually, I'm doing it and I works. BUT, the issue I get is that I can't get my embedded videos to loop. Grrr...

Keynote does not support exporting with embedded Quicktime Movies

I hope this helps a few of you out before you run into this problem.
Keynote does not support export to Quicktime with any slides that contain a quicktime movie.
Created a 27 page slide show with transitions, music, narrations and 6 Quicktime movies (Actually LiveType Text scrolls)
When I attempted to export it never finishes the export cutting it short after about 20 pages.
And the pages with the movies, don't start playing.
It exports fine as a quicktime movie without the movies inserted though.
Spoke with Apple Support and they confirmed that quicktime placed files within Keynote playback is only supported from the native Keynote Application.
I read somewhere on this board that it was an issue with Quicktime version 7.5, not so as I tried the same test on a mac with Quicktime 7.42 and it had the same issue.
So, beware.

Export Html in Keynote does not include hyperlinks when exported as HTML

I created a new keynote doc, and new page
added an simple image
added a link > to my image using the hyperlink option
the preview section shows the link and i am able to click the link that takes me to the domain or subdomain added.
the problem is when i export it to html that the links does not work
i upload the link to a server and still the link added does not work
anyone had the same experience.
Please advise,

Same problem - but thanks for the idea. It's curious that when I use the touch text tool to change the properties, Acrobat "knows" the correct characters. I can select the characters, change the font, change it back to the original font and all is OK. I though Acrobat used some Illustrator libraries to do the touch up, but i I open the PDF in Illustrator, the bad characters get rendered as object - not text.
I guess it's time find a way to easily avoid the dfonts. Problem is dfonts show up as TrueType in the font selection menu. The only way I know to see for sure that it is a dfont is to look at its extension in finder.
I'm not real keen on using dfonts - I was archiving some old InDesign files as PDFs when I ran across the problem. It's kind of a pain to have to chase the font types/conversions through so many layers. Sigh.

Keynote does not export Qucktime embedded movies within slides? Won't play

I Have a Quicktime movie within one of my slides and when I export a Quicktime .mov file, that particular slide does not run the quicktime movie within it, just stays on the first frame?
any ideas where I am going wrong?

I think this is a limitation of the export -> quicktime option
Keynote does all sorts of tricks to keep the file sizes small- and one thing really gets butchered are embedded quicktime movies- I have two almost show-stopper frustrations with this:
1- quicktime movies do not loop when exported to quicktime (limitation of sprite track? will look around in live stage pro)
2- all builds and movies must play in entirety before you can click through- this makes being able to skip around very cumbersome especially if using an indexed presentation

Keynot does not work with Lion OSX 10.7.2

First there was the problem with the hidden Library/application Support/iWeb/domaines, which is an important problem for me as I use my web site to show people what kind of work that I do (videos with still photography); now there's the problem with Keynote, which does not even open with Lion OSX 10.7.2. Up until now, I was using Keynote to do my video projections in small town halls. I use Protools for the sound and Final Cut (that's another problem!) for the photos and then do a Quick Time session which I put in Keynote. It was working just fine - until Lion came along.
It seems to be well known that Apple is going to discontinue iWeb (let's not talk about what they did to Final Cut) - and now it looks like they've got plans for Keynote as well. It looks like the solution is either to use PowerPoint rather than Keynote, or to downgrade back to Snow Leopard. I'm tempted to change to PowerPoint just to keep in the race, but where is Apple taking us? I'm not sure that what Apple want's us to do is really good for us! But is it realistic to hang on to Snow Leopard? Are the PCs better or are they doing the same thing? It almost seems as if there were commercial agreements between those who run everything...but that's another story - or is it?

Yes, it should work with Lion. It does for lots of folks.
Are you getting an error message of some sort? If so, see #C2 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.
If that doesn't help, try re-selecting it, via Time Machine preferences.
Or try a "full reset" of Time Machine, per #A4 in the Troubleshooting article.
Or reset the TC itself, per http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3728

Keynote does not load presentations

I can't get Keynote to load the presentations that are in my iCloud drive. I know they are there, because I can see them on my Mac.
When I change the Keynote settings to use iCloud, the setting does not stick.
Pages and Numbers DO use iCloud.
I'm using iOS 8.2 on an iPad Air v1. I've restarted, tried deleting and reinstalling Keynote, but the problem continues.
Any advice?

There are two options, try option 1 first if that does not work use option 2:
1 - a custom repair for Keynote 6.1
Try this repair for iWork applications, its sorted out many similar problems in the past
ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:
1 delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote by using Appcleaner from Mac Update to      do this, its freeware
2 restart the Mac;   Apple menu > restart
3 immediately after the start chime, press the shift key until you see the Apple symbol.
         let it fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive
4 when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive then First Aid tab and      click repair disc permissions
5 when complete, restart the Mac normally
6 install Keynote from the Mac App Store

Choose Apple menu > Restart. Once your Mac restarts (and the gray screen appears), hold down the Command (⌘) and R keys.
If you’re not connected to the Internet, choose a network from the Wi-Fi menu (in the top-right corner of the screen).
Select Disk Utility, then click Continue.
Select your startup disk on the left, then click the Erase tab.
Choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled) from the Format menu, enter a name, then click Erase.
After the disk is erased, choose Disk Utility > Quit Disk Utility.
Select Reinstall OS X, click Continue, then follow the onscreen instructions.

User complaining Excel (2007)does not Autosave

The autosave functionality does not seem to be working when using an excel document. I have gone into Excel Options-->Save
The 'Save AutoRecover information every' is checked and I have even set it to 1 but documents still do not seem to autosave.
A couple of questions:-
1. From my understanding, please correct me if im wrong. Autosave is a feature to help prevent data loss. In the sense that if a document has not been manually saved, the autosave function 'kicks in' (depending on whats specified) incase the
computer crashes/dies/excel dies etc and saves the information.
2. If the above is correct. I've also tried to see if the Autosave function indeed works. Which according to my tests doesn't. I've set the Autorecover information to to 1 minute. Waited and waited, gone past a minute and then
to test it I've performed an End Process (excel.exe) and then fired up excel and when im prompted with the autosave document on the left handside , the changes that I created aren't there when i select that document.
What on earth am I doing wrong?
The only thing I haven't done is short of re-installing office or running a repair installation.
Any suggestions before I try the above.

As far as I know, most of the Office 2007 suits have the AutoRecover option, did you try to use word to test?
The AutoRecover option (in these Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Visio) and
AutoSave option (in Microsoft Office Outlook) can help you avoid losing work in two ways:
•Your data is automatically saved
•Your program state is automatically saved
As you said, you shuted down the Excel 2007 after setting autosave. You could not open the
Document Recovery on the left handside when re-opened it.
Please refer to the picture and find the file path to open the recovery file by yourself.
If it works fine, I recommend you start Excel in safemode to test, the issue may be caused by the third party add-in.

Keynote does not export music into a Quicktime Movie

I created a 75 frame Keynote 08 presentation with looped music and exported it into a Quicktime movie, but the music does not play. The audio does appear in the Quicktime "Properties" but does not play. Help!

My apologies! I went about a VERY lengthy search and just did not find anything to my satisfaction other than people stating that they had the same problem. Just search for phrases like 'Keynote music export QuickTime' and I guarantee you'll find a lot of results. My best bet was to export the movie (went fine) and then to import the movie into iMovie, add the soundtrack and re-export. My main problem was figuring out the best format from iMovie. Choosing the wrong one gives absolutely horrible movie quality compared to the Keynote export.
The frustrating thing is that you can't tell the movie quality until a, oh, 15-30min rendering of your movie depending on the size and trying that with several setting arrangements adds up to too much time for me. For my situation, I was able to just play the movie and play a cd on a boombox in the background. It was not my desired choice but after hours and hours of trying I gave up...
Sorry I'm not more helpful. It just looks like this is a bug Apple needs to fix.

Flash File Made in Keynote does not work in IWeb site

I created a file in keynote and exported it to a flash file. I then drag and drop into my website and it shows up as a text in a box (the title and .swf). What am I doing wrong and is really that complicated?? I have exported before to a quicktime file and then dragged it in IWeb and it worked fine, what's the story??

The main problem people have with this is to get the idea of how you store the file on your server and how to create the link to it. If the link is not exactly right - it won't work.
Test your link by copying it and pasting it into your browser to see if it works.

Try this repair for Keynote 6.2, ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:

IMovie DOES NOT AUTOSAVE!!! Why the **** did Apple remove "Save" in the first place and how to fix this problem?!?!

There's no good reason Apple removed the ability to manually save. I work in a project, I save it at a point and then make edits that I may or may not want. It could be 1000 changes I make before I see that I'm not satisfied with them and want to revert back to my last saved session. In iMovie not only can I not do that but the autosave doesn't work and has cost me tens of hours!
iMovie just hit me with a bug saying I couldn't share becuase there wasn't enough memory so I have to quit iMovie, open it up again then try to share it. Well, there IS enough memory so I don't know why it was saying that anyway. But besides that, I was afraid to quit iMovie because the **** thing never saves.
I google and find out I can duplicate a project and that should save it. I do that. Restart it. Bam. None of the changes I've spent the past 2 days on saved....
Why has Apple broken their iMovie like this and is there ANYONE that has figured out a way to make projects save?
This is absolutely the last time I'm using iMovie (or any Apple app that removed manual save) but I've done too much editing to start all over again in another video editor. I need to make these changes AGAIN then save them.
How?!

Recording narrations in keynote does not erase old narration

When I use keynote to record a presentation for distribution as a video, any changes DO NOT wipe out the old narration but double up. I have looked everywhere for this, and it is supposed to automatically get rid of the old recordings and use the new recording moving forward.
I think the software is not programmed correctly as it didn't work in old OS and it is not working in Mavericks.
Any help or similar frustration?

Keynote does not see my imovie events

I am trying to create a keynote presentation. When I click the icon to import media it allows me to do it for photos easily. When I click on movies it says that I have no movies. I have gone back to imovie a dozen times and shared my clip in every available form and keynote still sees nothing. I went to the HD to look at the library and also see that there is no event folder. I assume that is the problem but I don't know how to fix it. I have a presentation I need to put together! Please help!!

According to http://help.apple.com/imovie/cameras/en/index.html?lang=en_US your camcorder is supported by iMovie '11 (Version 9).
But, according to http://help.apple.com/imovie/10/cameras/en/index.html?lang=en_US it is not supported by iMovie '13 (Version 10)
The reason is Apple has dropped support for some of the older codecs.
So I infer you are using iMovie 10? All is not lost, but you will have to copy the files from you camera to hard disk with Finder and then transcde them into a format that iMovie 10 accepts. The article:

There are a number 3rd party apps, some free, that will do the transcoding in fact Quicktime 10 may be the easiest since it converts old codecs before playing and you can save the converted files

Keynote does not download?

I have tried downloading 4 times Keynote and once it finishes, it disappears from my dock. It is not in the applications folder nor in the trash and App Store indicates that it has been installed.

Transitions, animations and fonts used in PowerPoint but not available in Keynote cause import problems.
With serious issues, I have had to change the original PowerPoint by removing all the transitions and builds and changing the font to one that was available to Keynote. Once imported to Keynote I recreated the transitions and builds and was able to use the amended presentation.
If you don't have PowerPoint on your Mac, you can use Open Office to make changes. Try a few slides at a time to isolate the problematic ones.
Post back and confirm if this helps.
