Keyword selection failure

When I apply a keyword from the keyword list to a picture, only the first letter in the keyword is added and then that letter becomes part of the keyword list. Does anyone know why? And how do I keep this from happening and getting Bridge to use the keywords in the list? Thanks

If I am not entirely sure I understand you. Each of these is just the section you selected.
Maybe if you switch the browser view to filmstrip mode it will be clearer.
In this example, I took one demo greenscreen clip and applied keywords to two parts of it: one called "girl" and the other called "credits". The whole clip shows in the event:
If I now click on the "girl" keyword collection ONLY the part keyworded "girl" will appear:
And likewise if I click on the "credits" keyword collection:
There is only one clip, but through metadata FCP X allows you to handle all these "subclips".

I've spoken to various folks today about this. I'm not a Hibernate / TT dialect expert by any means. However, this SQL is a (sort of) documented restriction in TimesTen. This usage of SELECT is a 'derived table' and, unlike Oracle and many other databases, TimesTen currently only supports these in the FROM clause but not in other places such as, here, a projection list.
So, it's not a bug but a limitation of our current SQL implementation.
With regards to where it's coming from, based on the info that is provided, we think that the source of this SQL error is not directly from Hibernate or from the Hibernate dialect class that the application uses. We think this scalar subquery in the select list is defined in a Hibernate mapping document as something called a derived property.
In Hibernate, Java object fields are usually mapped to table columns using a property element within the hibernate-mapping element like this:

This is the usual case, however, it is also possible to map Java object fields to 'derived' values from the database table. These 'derived' values are expressions in the select list instead of simple column references.
A 'derived' property is defined in the property element using the 'formula' attribute.
For example:

The value of 'formula' is any valid SQL expression that can appear in the select list.
Our belief is that you are defining a scalar subquery for 'formula'. For example:
<property name="descr" formula="(SELECT COUNT (*) FROM DUAL)"/>
And this generates the error when executed against TimesTen.
The solution is to rewrite 'formula' using a select list expressions that TimesTen supports - or change things to avoid the need for a derived property in the select list.
If this doesn't solve it, it's probably best to log an SR so we can obtain various files from you that we would need to look into it further.

Selecting Clips, adding keyword, selected clip not showing up in keyword collection

I am having issues while editing a soccer game for a highlight reel. I have done this many times without issue, but with one project, for certain keyword selections, it is not showing up. I am selecting a clip from a longer piece of game footage, then hitting command-k to open the keyword collection shortcut interface. I'm inputting the keyword into it and hitting return. It makes the sound like the clip has been marked as a key word, but when I go into the keyword collection in the event history, the clip is not showing up. Again, this is only occuring in one project and hasn't been an issue in the 10 other similar projects I've done. Any thoughts? Is there any way to fix this recoding the entire game? Thanks.

There shouldn't be any sound, just the animation and the blue bar. Are you getting that? Make sure there is nothing in the search field in the browser. Try trashing prefs.

[tip] search for / selecting NO keywords (selection photos without a keyword)

Probably it is old news but I couldn't find it here that fast.
I have 20.000 photos, some have a keyword(s) some have not. So I searched for a selection of photographs without a keyword. But there is none.
The trick is to add a special keyword you normally not use like (only) "_" (underscore) to all photos without a keyword. But there is no way to select photos wihtout a keyword... So I came up with a two step strategy and this trick only cost 2-3 minutes with 20.000 photos:
Add the "_" keyword to all you photos.
Select all photos with a real keyword by shift clicking on all keywords tags except "_".
Remove the "_" keyword from those photos.
Now select the "_" keyword or search on the "_" keyword.
A how to, in 14 steps:
1. Hit G, goto library (in left panel) and click on "all photographs"
2. Select all photos by pressing ctrl-a
3. Wait till LR is ready displaying all used keywords in the right keywords panel
4. In right panel under keywording/keyword tags add the keyword "_"
5. Wait till LR is ready updating all your photos (20.000 photos: 1 minute)
6. Goto "Keyword tags" in the left panel
7. Select the (suppose the second) keyword just after the "_" keyword by left clicking.
8. Scroll down till the end in the keyword list
9. Now, shift click on the last keyword
10. You now selected all keywords except the "_" keyword and all are highlihted
11. Select all photo's (ctrl-a)
12. Wait till LR shows all the keywords in the Keywording/keyword tags panel on the right
check: the keyword "_" should have no asterix like "_*" if so: goto step 1!
13. Remove the "_" keyword and press enter
14. Wait till LR is ready
From now on while selecting the "_" keyword or searching on the keyword "_" LR will only show the photos without a (real) keyword.
Of course, as soon as you add keyword(s) to your foto(s) you have to delete the "_" keyword.
Speed tip: when starting keywording, select the photo you like to add real keywords, ctrl-k brings you directly to the keyword tags panel in edit mode, hit backspace (to delete the "_" keyword and start typing your keywords and hit enter or tab when done. Then immediately (of course) the photo dissapears from your "_" keyword selection photos and the next photo is selected and is waiting for you to hit ctrl-k and start again. Look mam, "no mouse used!"

There is actually, and it is much simpler:
Using the Find Panel, choose Text: Keywords and Rule: Are Empty.

Aperture: easily clear keyword selection ?

Searching your Aperture library through a keyword search is a great way to find the images you need. Yet, the way it is implemented in Aperture raises a question: is there a simple way (preferably a single action) to clear the check boxes in the keyword search dialogue ? I have not yet found it.
The problem I encounter is the following: after selecting multiple keywords in the search dialogue the easy way to get back to the all-image display is to uncheck the keywords selection box. The checks with the keywords themselves, however, will still be there. Checking the keyword selection checkbox again will re-display the selected images. So far, fine. But now (or tomorrow) I want to make a new selection. As soon as I check the keyword selection checkbox, the previous search results will be shown and I must now manually find out what keywords are checked. Since my keyword list is rather long, this is a cumbersome process. What I have been looking for is a simple command or button to uncheck all keywords in the search dialoge to start with a fresh list, but I have not been able to find such a command.
Am I overlooking something obvious or is this just missing from Aperture ? Any help is appreciated.

To start with a fresh list, add a second keyword rule from the "Add Rule" menu and delete the old rule bypressing "-" or disable it by unchecking it.

Fac Reset and boot selection failure: 0xc000000f

I see some stuff here similiar but not quite what I need.
My brothers computer was having issues so we went to factory reset it and set it up with the minimum, like only windows and drivers and upon reboot it said Boot selection failure because a required driver is innaccessible. Status: 0xc000000f.

Configuring selection failure error handler

I have a scope which does an invoke. There is a possibility it causes a selection failure and hence I was trying to configure a catch branch for selection failures.
In the part where I have to give a variable name, I cannot seem to be able to click on the button for creating a new variable. Can someone help me out with configuring a variable for this particular error.

Keyword selection function in Adobe Bridge CS3

Hello,
Does anybody know if and how I can change the "selection criteria" of keywords in Adobe Bridge CS3?
-> selection criteria: If I want to use the filter with the keywords, it selects the images which include any of the selected keywords (OR-function), but I would like to select only those images which have all of the selected keywords(AND-function).
Example: In a holiday folder named "italy", I want to see all pictures with the keywords "beach" and "me". What I get are all the "beach" images and all the "me" images. How can I change this?

In the Find box the Match drop down has 2 options. "If all criteria is met" is like "and" while "if any criteria met" is like "or" logic.

Unsolved ABAP keyword documentation failure

Hi everybody,
I already posted this in the other "ABAP keyword documentation" threads, but because those are solved I think nobody sees that there´s still a problem (unfortunately all those solutions didn´t work for me or I should say that "my" problem didn´t appear yet, so I thought it might be a good idea to create a new thread so people can help me). For inconvenience I´m sorry.
Here is my problem:
We have two sap servers here, MCC and MQA. If I log into MCC, open SE80, mark a word (for example WRITE) and press F1, I get the pop up with title "ABAP key word documentation". I doubleclick on WRITE and another pop up (session) appears. Everything works wonderful.
Now I repeat this on server MQA. I mark a word (also WRITE, FYI: it doesn´t work on IF or ELSE), press F1 and a pop up appears (title is also "ABAP key word documentation"). I doubeclick WRITE and the pop up closes and nothing happens.
Please help me. I absolutely don´t know how to solve this problem. Both systems are on the same level in Support Package level, Kernel level etc.

I was missing an entry in SR13 -> PlainHtmlFile.
Well, I took the Documentation DVD and installed it.
Still the same problem, BUT if I call transaction ABAPHELP, leave the popup for the keyword blank and confirm, the ABAP reference opens. I click on ABAP-Index and search for WRITE (just an example). If I click it I get the same information like I normally would by selecting WRITE in SE80 and pressing F1.
So, in short: The system has the information it needs (ABAP-Index), but it can´t be opened via F1 in SE80.
I think / hope that there´s is only one little thing left I have to do / configure.
Any ideas / suggestions?

Hierarchical keyword selection not showing

In LR 2.1 I have some hierarchical keywords. For example:
location
arizona
grand canyon
In Bridge, if I assign "grand canyon" I can set a preference to tell it to automatically select the parents... SO, in my list of keywords for the image I have "grand canyon, arizona, location".
In LR, when I do this it doesn't appear to do the same thing... If I assign "grand canyon", arizona doesn't get a check, it gets a dash, as does location. And in the list of keywords for my image, only "grand canyon" shows up... Is there a preference somewhere (as in Bridge) for me to have the parents selected and show up as selected?
Part 2: SOME hierarchical keywords show up as a hierarchy in the keyword list for the image - something like "grand canyon > arizona, location". Why do SOME entries in the hierarchy show up with the ">" and others in the same hierarchy don't? Shouldn't it be "grand canyon > arizona > location" or at worst "grand canyon > arizona", arizona > location" or some such?

I've tried all three settings for the keywords, and as near as I can tell none of them provide any form of hierarchical display. The "Will Export" just seems to force a straight alphabetical list. Which I think is exactly the opposite of what I'm after.
Is there some way to keep the font from changing when I switch to Will Export? The font gets small, REALLY small.

PSE8 - Multiple Keyword Selection

When you select multiple keywords the result is an "AND". i.e. If I selected the keywords "mom" and "dad", only pictures with BOTH mom AND dad would appear. Is there a way to make this an "OR"?

Yes, that was precisely the way the OP used for multiple tags. But the problem is to use the XOR logical operator which is not available in this menu.

Keyword selection

ok, I select part of clip, and put keyword A, another part of same clip and put keyword B, then C, D,.... and so I do to the x clips.
Then I have keyword colection or smartword colection, but within the selected collections are all keywords not only A, B, C...
Where I'm wrong. How to see only those selected part of the clips, not all?

Clone Stamp Selection Failure in CS6

I try using the clone stamp but selection fails with this error message:
Could not use the clone stamp because the area to clone has not been defined (Alt-click to define source point).
When I press Alt, I see the characteristic selection bullseye. But, afterwards, a right-click of the mouse reveals an open circle and the error message.
I note that the key works for menu selections (e.g., Alt-File) and other actions.
I have closed PS and re-opened. Reset the clone stamp tool, closed and reopened, etc., to no avail.

That seems to have fixed the problem: left-super+alt. I can live with that!
Regarding the suggestions about remapping - look-and-feel, etc.: the suggested track are not avialalbe under Xubuntu 12.04. And, I would be reluctant to re-map the super-key since it has functional significance when running Win (I have both Win-7 and XP in VMs).
I've bookmarked the wine wiki link for future reference.
WINE: Do you know if CS6 / Bridge / Adobe Raw, etc., work well? I had not thought of trying Wine. I've never had luck with it in the past - a waste of time for few apps that I must run in Win. Since I've got PShop working well in a VM, I'm thinking of sticking with that and not to invite new problems.

CS3 Bridge keyword search failure

To the best of my knowledge this particular issue has not been covered in the dozens of prior posts about keywords. I apologize if I've missed it.
My photos, by the nature of their creation and paperwork generation, are organized by overall dividers, year, month, partial alphabetic breakdown, and customer name, respectively. I have a need to be able to find photos across all folders throughout the hierarchy that are of the same person. I've been using keywords of the individuals' names to accomplish this and it has been tremendously effective.
In 2009, it became necessary to move all images archived in 2008 to another location on the server. As one might expect, the keywords didn't jive with the index (my reasoning, anyway) and search functionality was ineffective. Not long thereafter, the functionality came back - most likely by way of a non-indexed keyword search.
The same issue has occured this year in that all the images shot in 2009 had to be moved. I have changed the manner in which the structure is built to prevent this from being necessary again in the future, but the keyword search is now not functioning again. However, this time I am unable to re-establish it. I have tried multiple non-indexed (with subdirectory) keyword searches both across the entire server and in smaller folder breakdowns. I have cleared the cache and searched again. Even if I open a folder with brand new files and verify keyword presence and accuracy, a search inside that specific folder will not return a result.
The question is: What have I done / missed?
Even if it had nothing to do with moving the 2009 files, I may have done something to knock something askew that's impeding my search abilities. I don't use Bridge for very complex tasks, so I might need some extra help, but I'm keenly interested in your ideas and expertise. Assistance in any form will be appreciated.

Color Profile Selection Failure

First a quick description of my issue:
I brought my MBP with me on vacation and noticed the colors seemed to be off a bit. I went to Display and the moment I clicked the "Color" tab, the screen colors shifted for half a second, like it changed the profile, before reverting back to whatever profile it is on. When I select a different profile, it changes the colors and even the brightness to that of the new/correct profle (colors look good), but half a second later it reverts back.
I created a new admin account and the issue was still present. However, when I booted into safe mode, the issue went away and I was able to freely select color profiles (with my default account as well). The moment I disabled safe mode and rebooted, the issue returned.
I've tried deleting "com.apple.colorsync.profiles.###" with no luck. I've repaired permissions as well and run some Onyx cache flushes and such, but nothing works so far. I do have an external monitor back at home that uses a separate color profile, so maybe connecting and disconnecting it cuased some corruption at some point. I'm not sure. Right now I am more focus on this MBP's display.

No, profile do many things. It is a color space. It allows different apps and systems to view colors the same. Also fcp typically works in a tub color space not rgb.
