Kill process flow that is append

Hi there,
I've got a problem with a Process Flow that is append (I can see BUSY_FAILURE state on Repository Browser) and it doesn't allow me to launch another Process Flow.
How can I kill the BUSY_FAILURE process?
Thanks in advance
Steve

  • Spawning off process flow that runs independent

Is there a way to setup the warehouse builder to spawn off another process flow that the first process flow will not depend upon waiting for the second to complete before moving on.  I presume I could right a stored procedure that schedules a job that calls the other process flow but is there a way built into the builder that would allow me to do this?

    Hi
If you have any map inputs make sure they are also declared in the processflow map - you basicly need to bind them.
You probably need to investigate from the beginning to understand your result of incoherent data.
What I would to first is.
    1. Generete an intermediete code - choose your table as outgroup.
    2. Review the code - are there any loading hints ?
    3. Debug the map
    Check your locations.
If everything seems right then the problem should lay on your workflow manager.
Remember that the workflow manager has only one namespace, so watchout for mapping name. I had strange executions on my PF because one of my maps had a "½" in the name.
Check the settings of the map - if you have enterd a set based run in your map and a row based run in the processflow.
Remember the setting in the processflow is the "superior" one
Just ideas what you can do.

  • Job Schedular status running after killing process flow from OWF monitor

    Hi,
    PROBLEM SCENARIO:
Scheuled job called 'TEST' kicks off process flow called 'Child_load' under 'Parent_load_all' and gets stuck. I go into OWF (ORACLE WORK FLOW MONIOTOR) and kill both the process flows and then complete the Process flow run manually from OWB. Now, next day the scheduled job 'TEST' should execute 'Parent load all', but it doesn't do that instead it shows 'TEST' in 'Running' STATUS from yesterday when I see it in toad under Sched.Jobs. I have to drop the scheduled job and redeploy it from OWB in order for it to work.
Any idea why its doing that?
    Thanks in advance.

    hello
the status of the scheduled job should be 'running'
here is what i received from oracle support on that matter:
A scheduled job is always in BUSY status, till the moment it is stopped in the Control Center Manager.
If you open the Control Center Manager, goto the Location and expand the plus "+" in front of Scheduled Jobs. There should be your job DLOAD_JOB.
On the right bottom appears the dialog Control Center Jobs. And there is a tab "Scheduled". Click on that tab and you should see a green arrow in front of the job DLOAD_JOB. This means the job is running. (In fact it is not running but waiting to be executed again according scheduled time)
To stop the job to run according schedule, you can right-click on the job and choose "Stop". The green arrow will disappear and the status in the Repository Browser will be "Completed"
To start the job again, you can right-click on the job and choose "Start". The green arrow will appear again and the status in the Repository Browser will be "Busy"
    so according to this the scheduler job should be in status running;
    why it does not trigger your processes however is another thing;

  • Need to see the flow that process followed

    Hi All,
I have created a BPM linked with WDJ application which is working fine.
But is there any way I can see what steps were followed in particular process.
I can see the process flow that is designed and green dot at the current step.
Can i see the path highlighted that process followed ?
    Need help
    Thanks in Advance
    Bhagyashree

In the process repository where you selected the process instance and clicked on 'Show Process Flow', select your Process Instance, scroll down and click on the 'History' Tab. You will get the detailed flow of execution (commonly in descending order).
For advanced flow execution details and error details, select 'Advanced' from the dropdown list here.
    Hope this helps.

  • Process flow execute "complete" in Runtime Audit Browser but it hangs

I create a process flow that contain 4 sub-process flow, each sub-process flow contains several mapping. Each mapping in the process flow will be executed one by one if previous mapping execute successfully. If any error or warning, it will be ended with "End_Error" or "End_Warning". And I deploy the process flow to the workflow server successfully.
Sometimes the process will hang in some certain mapping when execute the process flow. After long time waiting, the status of process flow execution in Audit Browser will be "Complete", but in fact, the sub-porcess ended with that mapping and the next mappings will not be execute. This can be monitored in the Audit browser, as if the whole process "break" at that mapping.
In workflow monitor, I found the workflow has not complete yet. The status of that mapping node is "Notified", not "complete". So I have to abort the workflow in the monitor.
Sometimes when I try again it will be ok. If I deploy the process to another instance that in dw instance, it will also be ok. The dw instance use owb recommend parameters when we install db instance. All the mapping use the default parameters except "Default operation mode", here we use "row based".
Can somebody give me some hint?
    Thanks.
    OWB 10g rel 1, db: 10g rel2, workflow: 2.6.4

    Hi Naidu
Yes you are absolutely right. When you press the cancel button in the GUI, the runtime repository does not get the signal that he is been asked to stop and abort. The GUI cancels himself but the background oracle process is still on !!!. The only way to do is to kill the oracle session. Another way I tried to tackle is
go to the directiry OWB/10.1/owb/rtp/sql and run the file @list_request.sql in sqlplus. Note that you have to login as runtime repositiry owner. After you get the audit id, run the file abort_exec_request.sql and supply the audit id that you obtained by running list_requests.sql. Sometimes it does not work also . Hence the best method is to kill the process

  • How to pass process flow input parameter to unix script external process

    Hi,
I'm trying to pass a process flow input paramter (string) to an external process which is a unix script. I've been working on this for the last 2 days but can't get it to work. Here is the design. I have a process flow with 3 maps that create a file in the unix file system. I have a suffix, which is an input parameter to the process flow, that will need to be passed to the unix script to rename the file appending the suffix to the filename. I've tried different things and nothing works for me. Has anyone done something similar in OWB?
    Thanks much!

I tried using useBean inside the Jsp for this.
    But following error comes:
    OracleJSP error: oracle.jsp.parse.JavaCodeException: Line # 13, oracle.jsp.parse.JspParseTagExpression@102e37e
Error: Java code in jsp source files is not allowed in ojsp.next mode.
    Please explain why?
How can set POST request params when calling to an external servlet?

  • Owb process flow error handling

    Hi,
    I am using OWB 10gR2.
I have 2 process flows that each call a series of mappings. Then I have one "master" process flow that calls the two aforementioned proecess flows. When a mapping errors, I want my whole master process flow to abort. I put error handling in, but it doesn't seem to work. For example, if I get an error in the first process flow, I get my email notification that something is wrong. The process ends. However, the master process flow continues to go. I want it to stop. It continues to go because there wasn't an error in the first process flow. The error was handled, and the process flow ended successfully. Does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to handle this type of situation? I'm not doing anything revolutionary. I'm just new to these process flows.
    Thanks,
    Tim

hmm ok this sounds a bit weird to me.
I've created similar processflows with customers and never had similar problems like you describe.
Just to verify your design, here is how I would solve your master1 processflow.
    _______________________END_WARNING
    w w
    start----PF1----------s---------------PF2------s---- END_SUCCESS
    e e
    \___________________\____END_WARNING
where the conditions for the transitions is indicated with w for warning, s for success and e for error.
Some poorly made ascii art there but hopefully you get the idea...:p
This also sounds like what you've done already and with extra email functionality.
Are you sure that pf2 starts after pf1? Or can it actually run in parallel with pf1 but just finishes after pf1 so it seems like it its done afterwards? The reason I ask is that I experienced that in one of my processflows with around 30+ mappings, one of the mappings that was supposed to be executed almost at the end, executed before everything else and messed everything up. It was quite the annoying little bug and took a long time for me to discover. If you have noticed on the transitions, there is a little number next to the line on the canvas, indicating in which order the operators are to be executed. In my case, two transitions had the same number and that caused one of the mappings to just start as soon as the processflow was told to start. If this is the case there is a way to set these, but I don't remember right now. Delete and recreate the transitions also do the trick I think.
    Hope you figure it out!

edit: seems like my ascii art got a bit messed up... :(

  • Process Flow - mapping not inserting data

    I have a process flow that executes three mappings in sequence i.e Map1 -> Map2 -> Map3.
However, sometimes the process flow will execute and no data will be inserted by MAP2, other times it runs ok. If I run the mappings directly data is always inserted.
The only workaround I've found is to add a WAIT of 10sec between Map1 and Map2 in the process flow.
Has anyone come across anything like this and how did you work around or fix it?
    OWB 10.2.0.3 btw.

  • Skipping mapping execution in process flow

I have a process flow that calls multiple mappings. Based on some condition I want a mapping not to execute, E.g. when rerunning the process flow in case of failure. Currently I keep track of mapping execution and store the status in a control table. When a mapping has completed, it updates the status as completed. When I need to rerun, in the SQL of the tables join in the mapping, I have a where clause that returns 0 rows (mapping_completed = N) . So mapping is excuted but no rows added/updated.
The flip side of the approach is when using a complex join specially using views, the SQL takes a long time to run only to return 0 rows. So logic is okay but I want to save time by avoiding the execution of the mapping it self.
I would like to know how others are implementing this scenario.
    Regards
    Sandeep

Can you not have two different mappings one for running it first time and one which you can run on failure...
In your process flow you can have a param i.e 'F for failure and 'I' for intial and based on this condition you can decide which mapping to invoke and hte path to be followed.

  • To open a BPC excel input schedule through a Business Process Flow

    Hi,
I have a Business Process Flow that has to open an excel input schedule.
In the define actions tab of a Process step, I have chosen the BPC for excel interface and open template option.
I browsed the necessary template to be opened.I have also provided the required inputs for member selection.
Now when I open the Business Process Flow and Select this Process step, it opens only the BPC for excel interface and not the excel input schedule template.
Can anyone expalin the reason that caused this problem and also a solution to fix this issue ?
PS :I am trying to open this Business Process Flow using BPC Web and my BPC for excel is not open yet.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hello Aparna,
Please select Application name in BPF.
Please check for Application name in which you are opening the template.
    Thanks,

  • How to use substitution variables in sqlplus activity of process flow

I have a process flow that does nothing more than create a couple of packages that I cannot successfully deploy from OWB. A workaround, not something that I want to do, but currently there is not much time to adjust the packages so they can be deployed from OWB.
I can successfully create the packages from files that are present in a directory on the server. But the location (directory) is not the same in all cases (OTAP). So I thought to use an input parameter to the process flow (named TELLINGEN) and use that in the sqlplus activity.
I have created the parameter START_PATH with a default value.
I have added an sqlplus activity and placed the following into the PARAMETER_LIST variable of the activity:
    ?${Target.ConnectString}?@${TELLINGEN.START_PATH}/npl_dbug.pkg?
When I run the process flow I see the following in the output:
    SQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.3.0 - Production on Tue Mar 18 18:10:14 2008
Copyright (c) 1982, 2006, Oracle. All Rights Reserved.
    Connected to:
Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP and Data Mining options
SP2-0310: unable to open file "${TELLINGEN.START_PATH}/npl_dbug.pkg"
SQL> SQL> Disconnected from Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release
    10.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP and Data Mining options
It obviously connects to sqlplus but then cannot find the file. Presumably because the variable has not been substituted.
How can I persuade the activity to substitute the variable?
    Kind regards,
    Eric.

Have been reading around a bit and found the (a) solution:
I placed the following in PARAMETERLIST:
    ?${Target.ConnectString}?@${Working.RootPath}/base64.sql?
And it turns out ${Working.RootPath} is pointing to the location you can provide under the configure for the sqlplus activity in the process flow. Just as you have to provide the target destination as indicated here: Re: SQLPLUS Activity in Process Flow
From the documentation it was not immediately clear to me where Working.RootPath was pointing to.

  • Upg 10gr2 to 11gr2, process flow: RPE-01003: An infrastructure condition...

    Hello.
I am in a bit of a pickle right now after upgrading OWB from 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.3, and I'm here requesting a sanity check. Due to the need of a database upgrade, OWB also has to be upgraded and the data warehouse that has been functional and stable for a long time on 10g needs to be migrated to 11g. So this is main deal:
I just want to migrate all mappings and workflows and run them as before. I do not want to redeploy as that will force an enormous effort to regression test everything.
So the OWB upgrade went seemingly well. Everything runs as before. The problem started when I tested deployment of a mapping and subsequently
    1. Deployment of a mapping goes well.
    2. Deployment of the process flow goes well.
    3. Deployment of a mapping that is run in a process flow however causes problems when the process flow is executed.
The deployment goes well. However the mapping fails when I run the process flow with the following error:
RPE-01003: An infrastructure condition prevented the request from completing: no rows found for select into statement.
I subsequently sync the mapping in the process flow redeploy the process flow. Now ALL the other mappings in the process flow that have not been redeployed since the upgrade fails with the same error. However the one that failed before is executed correctly. If I redeploy all the other mappings (which can be dozens) it works, but now I'm faced with a serious regression testing period.
Personally I have a couple of theories that I hope you can debunk or possibly verify.
    1. It might be location oriented. I say that because my locations are a bit... iffy. When I redeploy some mappings in some locations it always insists on redeploying the connector (regardless if I deploy it stand-alone right before), and my location passwords are never "remembered" between sessions.
    2. I do not have specific knowledge about how workflows are generated in the repository, but if it's run by ID, maybe a new ID is generated for the mapping when it is redeployed, and subsequently the process flow gets a new ID when it gets redeployed?
I hope someone has seen this before and can get me on the right track. Thanks very much.

Here is a log that also illustrates the problem.
First workflow which does not have a redeployed workflow goes okay. That is WF_BOOKED_PRODUCT_020:MAP_BOOKED_PRODUCT_020.
The second workflow, WF_BOOKED_PRODUCT_030:MAP_BOOKED_PRODUCT_030, that is the one that has the redeployed mapping fails.

  • Wrong map being executed in Process Flow

I created a Process Flow that executes 3 maps and a PL/SQL procedure.
The process flow functions to write data to a Unix file system.
The first map when executed by itself writes the correct string as the first header within the file. But when I execute the same map, named HC_ENTHDR_TEMP_MAP, within the Process Flow the wrong header is written to the file.
I've tried droppping the map and redeploying it. I've tried dropping the map within the Process Flow reinserting it and redeploying the Process Flow. These actions do not solve the problem. When the map is executed within the Process Flow, the wrong header is written. When the map is executed outside the process flow the correct header is written.
Any help would be appreciated. It's as if the WorkFlow schema has the an invalid pointer to a map that I can't get rid of.

    Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, but I was off for the Holidays. Anyway.
I have tested your scenario step by step. and it works just the way you're saying.
But, what's happening here is just as Steve have mentioned in his second post.
<quote>All the codes are in the same "bucket"</quote>
And as I mentioned in my first post the local unit precedes the library, and that's why you are seeing the message from the local unit.
I changed the name of the local unit from MY_PRE_FROM to MY_PRE_FORM_LOCAL, and it worked just fine with me.
I suggest you try it, it should work.
So when we run formA we should see the following messages
    'in generic call'
    'in formA local'
Here what you are seeing the the precedences of the local unit over the library unit whenever they share the same name.
but logically you should see the library code MY_GENERIC_CALL being executed and showing a message of
    PROCEDURE MY_GENERIC_CALL IS
    BEGIN
         message('in generic call');
         my_pre_form;
END;and in turn calling to MY_PRE_FORM and the latter shows the message
    PROCEDURE my_pre_form IS
    BEGIN
    message('in lib my pre-form');
    END;so you should see:
    in generic call
    in lib my pre-form
and what's happening with you is the local unit is being preceded from forma over the library unit. As if you are calling the local unit from the library. or at least this is what seems to be happening.
Changing the local unit's name is making the difference.

  • Mailing summary of successfully executed process flow

i have process flow that includes multiple number of mappings, each one has function that emails the errors if the mapping is not successful. now at the end of the process flow i want to send out summary email with info about all mappings in the process flow. Some of the mappings have allowed number of errors set to 20, so i'm guessing the mail should look something like this:
    <Process_flow_name> started at <HH:MM:SS DD/MM/YYYY> completed successfully at <HH:MM:SS DD/MM/YYYY>
-<Any other info you can pull out for the process flow here>
    -<Mapping_1>
    --<MAPPING_START_DATE><TIME_TAKEN><ROWS_SELECTED><ROWS_INSERTED><ROWS_UPDATED><ROWS_DELETED><NO_OF_ERROR>
---<If possible the errors are listed here>
    -<Mapping_2>
    --<MAPPING_START_DATE><TIME_TAKEN><ROWS_SELECTED><ROWS_INSERTED><ROWS_UPDATED><ROWS_DELETED><NO_OF_ERROR>
---<If possible the errors are listed here>

You can create the procedure and then send the desired value form that procedure to Email body.
and the procedure can use metadata tables to get information
    like
    select
    exe.execution_audit_id,
    tar.NUMBER_RECORDS_INSERTED,
    step_tar.TARGET_NAME,
    tar.STEP_TYPE,
    tar.NUMBER_RECORDS_MERGED ,
    tar.NUMBER_RECORDS_UPDATED ,exe.execution_audit_id, tar.ELAPSE_TIME,exe.EXECUTION_NAME,exe.EXECUTION_AUDIT_STATUS,map_run.MAP_NAME
    from ALL_RT_AUDIT_MAP_RUNS Map_run,ALL_RT_AUDIT_EXECUTIONS Exe, ALL_RT_AUDIT_STEP_RUNS tar, ALL_RT_AUDIT_STEP_RUN_TARGETS step_tar
    where exe.EXECUTION_AUDIT_ID=map_run.EXECUTION_AUDIT_ID(+) AND
    map_run.map_run_id=tar.map_run_id(+) AND
    step_tar.STEP_ID=tar.STEP_ID and
    exe.execution_audit_id > '114305' order by exe.execution_audit_id descCheers

  • Mapping is not run after adding to existing Process Flow

    I am about to scream.
I have a process flow that has been running fine.
I added a mapping to the existing process flow, deployed the process flow, and now when I run the process flow it will not run the new added mapping.
What gives? I am going to recreate the process flow, but I will not recreate a new process flow everytime I add a mapping to it.
    What am I doing wrong.
    thanks for any help.
    greG

    Oleg,
Thanks so much for all the help. I read the other posts and checked my mapping but nothing helped.
I had to put a transition line directly from the fork to my new process and it worked.
I think it was kind of a logic error on my part.
I forgot had all my maps that were called from the Fork just going straight to either Error Warning or Success endpoints.
I tried to add another process after one of the mappings.
I forgot that to do that I would have to "OR" up all the transitions coming from the forked maps.
    Then proceed from there.
