KM news iview

hi,
I am using News iview for anonymous user... to publish the news content i am using Sap Demo News. but when contents are published its also showing user name and date along with content... i dont wana show date and username ,
i only want to show the content. How to do that....

first of all I would advise to copy the SAP Demo News to create your own XML Forms project.
It is not a problem to hide date and username. I add here a link to an Howtoguide that is describing some scenarios and step by step descriptions in the XML Forms area. This gives you many insight about what you have to do to fulfill your requirements:

Portal Runtime Error when creating a new iView

Our env is like the following.
EP 2004s(7.0) SPS07
From the Content Administration, when we try to create new iView, we
sometimes(these days frequently!) got the following error.

Require an Urgent help
getting portal runtime error when trying to create a new iView in portal. I am unable to create a single iView in portal.
It was working before please see this error message

AM Iworking on NW2004s sp11. I was able to create iViews on this system before

logs can be read from nwa, if you hv the relevant access or get portal admin to pass the defaulttrace file to you. Login to nwa, navigate to Monitoring-Logs and traces and select (either default trace or last 24hrs) to view the logs. hope this helps

Creation of new iViews not possible because templates missing

Hello,
I do troubleshooting to this problem but still didn't found a solution. Before this problem came up an creation of iViews were possible. I'm not able to reproduce what was changed since then.
I'm using an NW04s Portal SP09:
If I try to create a new iView I get no selection of different iView templates. The step 1 of Template selection shows the message:
"No templates to display. You are not assigned to any existing templates."
I checked the template folder in PCD and found my role has access to it and to the templates objects. I gave me super_admin role but nothing changed. I think the problem is maybe a configuration issue or something with wrong access rights (security zones?).
Please, do someone know what I could check next?

I'd be curious to know what SAP says. We have the same problem. Not sure how/if we broke it, but we can no longer create iviews using the wizard. I opened an OSS msg a while ago, but did not get much assistance.
We have recently upgraded to 2004s and it did not resolve the issue as I hoped it would.
If SAP provides a solution for you, please post it.

Yes you are right. When you create the iView, have you set the following properties:
Property Value
Layout Set: NewsExplorer
Layout Set Mode: Exclusive
Path to Initially Displayed Folder: /documents/myNews
Path to Root Folder for Navigation: /documents/myNews

New portal component not available for new iView

I've just written my first portal component using the NetWeaver Developer Studio. It's a trivial "Hello World" application.
If I run it in the portal from the NWDS it runs successfully allowing me to capture the full URL.
I tried to export the par file and upload it to my portal. I used the Archive Uploader from the portal to load the par file (System Configuration -> Support -> Portal Runtime -> Administration Console). The upload appeared to go successfully but the "Archive Deployment Checker" shows the local and repository versions as "undefined" with "update", "delete" and "refresh" buttons - no "install" button.
When I try to build an iView to display this component I don't see it in the list of possible types.
(portal content -> new iViews -> choose source type of "portal component") I can't see anything that looks remotely like my component.
If I create a generic applicationintegrator iView I can paste the full URL from my NWDS test run and it works. I can even build that into a role and make it appear in the portal content area.
How do I:
1 find/make visible my component so I can build an iView directly from it
2 if I can't do 1, configure the URL a little more generically so it's portable.
The URL in the iView looks like
http://dev.mycompany.com:5xx00/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/MyHomePage.HomePage
and I'd like it to look like
http://<prtroot>/MyHomePage.HomePage

Try to deploy your portal application from NWDS itself.
NWDS
Windows / Preferences / SAP Enterprise Portal /Add
After that check in Portal Archive Selection your component will be there.
And for shorter URL you needs to check the DNS settings.

News Text is not visible in News iview

Hi All,
I have created a news form similat to standard one, but i am able to see the date, author, title, body and readmore link but not abel to see News text.
what may be the reason, i want similar functionality as that of standard one.
is Show form or RenderlistItem which one will be seen in iView

Hi Murali,
Its all depends upon your design of xml forms. Normally you will provide little information in the Renderlist Form like (Title, Image, Date )
In the Show Form, complete information about the news. For ex: Title, Image, Date, Author, Text, Readmore etc..
correct me if i am wrong, You probably might not placed "Text" field either in the RenderList Form and Show Form.
If you've created Schema for "Text" and placed either of the forms then it should show.

Create new iView container/type

Hi,
Is it possible to create a new iView container alongside the standard Plain, Fill and Transparent?
We would like this iView to have it's tray header background color changed, based on categories you could specify for each iView.
The current implementation only allows for one tray background color for all iView types.

We would like to restrict the no. of news items, published on this iView.
So that always top 4 News will be displayed.

Check the CollectionRenderer of your IViews layoutset.
In the CollectionRenderer you will find Number of Rows property, which you should set to 4 to show only 4 news items at a time.

you can connect the iPhone to your mac and import those iPhone photos and videos to iPhoto assuming you have iPhoto. You can create a folder and export all those photos to the Finder. Keep safe somewhere. Also keep the iPhoto library for safe keeping. When you restore your iPhone you can sync all those photos back to the iPhone. so you will lose nothing. Just remember when you export from iPhoto select jpeg for photos and original for videos taken with the iPhone.

News order in News Iviews changes upon refresh

Hi guys,
I've recently installed SP12 into my EP7 and I notice that the order (last created/modified should appear at the top) of my news in the news iview changes upon refreshing the iview.
I've checked in the Content Management and see that the news which are displayed in the iview are also modified by me (which I've only displayed) within the same timestamp.
Does anyone experience the same?

Ok I found out a solution by changing the layout set (collection renderer), so that the news are sorted via "created" and not "modified".
If there are anyone who have the same issue, let me know and I will be glad to help.

I want to setup an iView where our Marketing dept can post the latest Marketing news on our portal. I don't see an iView on my portal that will do this. Is there somewhere I can download an existing Internal News iView like this to use in our portal?

Hi Patrick,
I have used both URL Iview and BW Report Iview for publishing BW reports on Portal. SSO worked fine for both. Actually SSO in BW Reports and Portal are not related with type of Iview. SSO works fine even you login to portal and then paste the BW report URL to the location bar in the same window since BW Report checks the cookie created in your computer by portal. If you have successfully login to portal then SSO cookie is created in you computer and when you call BW Report URL directly it will again use same cookie.

News Iview insert more picture

Can News Iview allowed to insert more than 1 pictures in portal? Our company's New Iview only allows us to insert ONE pic, but our users do have the need to insert more than just one. Is there any way out? What should I do?

Yes, is possible, you must to create your own xml form, with XML Form Builder, in order to include more pictures.
This application is in the portal role "Content Management".
For default, surely you are using SAP demo news, this is a sample form with one picture.
