KSPI - Price calculation returns error depending on which periods you plan

Hi guys,
I wanted to share this with you to see if this is a 'Bug', or if it's just the way I'm doing it. Here is step by step of what I did.
1) Created activity-independant cost planning for cost center # 3000 (KP06), for $10,000. It's broken up into periods as below:
Period 01
Period 02       $5,000
Period 03       $5,000
Period 04
Period 05
Period 06
Period 07
Period 08
Period 09
Period 10
Period 11
Period 12
2) Created activity input planning (KP26) for activity type LBRHR for 1,000 hours, broken up as follows into periods:
Period 01
Period 02
Period 03       500
Period 04       500
Period 05
Period 06
Period 07
Period 08
Period 09
Period 10
Period 11
Period 12
Then I execute KPSI for periods 1-12. In addition, I'm using pricing method '2', which is based on the average calculation. So theoritically it should take the total of $10,000 and divide it by 1,000 LBRHR and get an average periodical price of $10 per hours. In addition, I have the equivNo of '1' for all periods in the activity planning (KP26).
Now when I perform KPSI, I get the following error message. "Cost center CTR SC01/3000, cost element 611000: Splitting is not possible. Cost element 611000 cannot be split for cost center CTR SC01/3000, period(s) 2, because:the total of the activity type equivalence numbers is zero. Therefore, there is no splitting base for this cost element. OR
the target costs for cost object hierarchies are zero.  This means there is no distribution basis for this cost element."
So when I change my activity planning in a way that I have the quantity planned starts on and/or before period 2 instead of period 3, then it works fine. So it seems like the system needs the activity quantity planning (KP26) to start in the same period or on an earlier periods as the first cost planning (KP06) period. In this example it needs activity planned in period 002 or earlier.
Is this the way it's supposed to be working?
How can I have it, so that it works even if the activity planning (KP26) is entered in periods after the periods that had cost planning (KP06)?
I appreciate your input and ideas.
Thanks

Hi Srikanth
I understand what you're explaining.
But my understanding of using the pricing method of 'Average', it that it would ignore whether you have activities planned (KP26) for same periods as you have activity independant costs (KP06), and just take the total costs and divide it by the total activities. If it was pricing method 'Periodic', then I would agree with the error message, because it has to make sure you have the complete information for each of the periods.
I tried putting zero, or deleting out the entry '1' in Equiv No.for those periods that I dont have activity quantity (KP26) planned so that the system can ignore those periods when searching for activities to apply the activity Independant costs to, but it didnt make any difference, still got the error message.
Then I tried a scenario where activity planning (KP26) is not necessarily made on the same periods as activity Independant planning (KP06), but just planned on earlier periods, as below:
1) Created activity-independant cost planning for cost center # 3000 (KP06), for $10,000. It's broken up into periods as below:
Period 01
Period 02
Period 03
Period 04 $5,000
Period 05 $5,000
Period 06
Period 07
Period 08
Period 09
Period 10
Period 11
Period 12
2) Created activity input planning (KP26) for activity type LBRHR for 1,000 hours, broken up as follows into periods:
Period 01 500
Period 02 500
Period 03
Period 04
Period 05
Period 06
Period 07
Period 08
Period 09
Period 10
Period 11
Period 12
The system did not return an error. so it seems to accept it as longer as Activity quantity planning (KP26) is on and/or before the period of activity Independant planning, and NOT after ( in this example periods 2 3, it didn't have to be on 45 ). I don't get that logic.

I am creating an online application.  Before the user can get access to the application, I want to create a pre-qualification form.  I need to create it to where if they answer a certain form field one way, it will take them to a page that says "Sorry, we are not accepting applications at this time" and if they answer the form field another way, it will take them to the Application Form to fill out.
How do I set it up to where when they hit submit, it directs them to the appropriate page?

    Hi
First you need to decide on which scripting language you are going to use and any other requirements you may have.
Simply put, (and this is very simply put) you would filter the answers using your scripting language using a if/else or switch statement to decide if to redirect, (or not).

  • Quantity conversion error in net price calculation in BAPI_PO_CREATE1

I'm creating PO from BAPI_PO_CREATE1 .here i'm getting follwing error
quantity conversion error in net price calculation.
plz guide me to remove it.

Are you using quantities directly entered by the user while calling the function to do the net price calculation? If that is the case, you should use FM CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT to convert the quantity from the external format into the internal one!
Another possibility is that some customizing is missing for converting quantities in different unit of measures (like the quantity in pieces is known, but the pricing calculation is being done on kilos.. but the convertion between these 2 unit of measures is missing).
    Good luck!

  • Creating a DC return Error

    Hi,
I've configured NWDI. I added my new SC I've created via SLD into "Software Components for Development" section while creating Track Data on CMS.
But I left empty of the section "Required Software Components" on Track Data.
I'm writing above to be sure if this is the cause.
Then I've opened NWDS and connected to Development Configuration I've created. I've imported Dev. Conf. and tried to add a new DC under Compartment.
But it returns errors like below which I've noticed at "General User Output" area of NWDS at "Development Configurations Perspective".
failed to resolve reference "sap.com/com.sap.mw.jco" for DC "temsa.com_PCC_1:temsa.com/testdc":Cannot find compartment of used component: sap.com:com.sap.mw.jco
failed to resolve reference "sap.com/com.sap.exception" for DC "temsa.com_PCC_1:temsa.com/testdc":Cannot find compartment of used component: sap.com:com.sap.exception
failed to resolve reference "sap.com/com.sap.aii.util.misc" for DC "temsa.com_PCC_1:temsa.com/testdc":Cannot find compartment of used component: sap.com:com.sap.aii.util.misc
    What can be the problem?

    Hi Huseyin,
The problem is what you have mentioned. You need to define the dependency that your software components has on the three required SC's. Also you then need to checkin the three base SCA's into your track.
Please refer to help or search in this forum and you will know all that is required before you start developing the development component.

  • KSII (Actual Price Calculation)

    Gurus
When I execute the said KSII; result for activity prices is as follows:
ACTIVITY TYPE 1 = ACTUAL COST/ACTUAL HRS = RESULT OK
ACTIVITY TYPE 2 = ACTUAL COST/ACTUAL HRS = RESULT OK
ACTIVITY TYPE 3 = RESULT WRONG
ACTIVITY TYPE 4 = NO RESULT
Same rule is assigned to all activity types in Cost Splitting Structure.
Actual activity quantity is also posted for each activity, I am confused why not system's behaviour is same for all activity types price calculation.
    Thanks
    bukhari

    Hi,
Just check if you have done the Cost Element planning for the correct Cost Element & Cost Centre combination as defined in the Splitting structure and further the Splitting rule is based on the Activity quantity.(KP26)
Also ensure that you have planned for the Activity quantity for the same cost centres for which you have planned the costs. (KP06)
    Award points if useful.

    Hello Eran,
This error could be caused by having insufficient privileges to the IVI directory on your system and can be resolved by logging in as the administrator or having access to of all National Instruments files.
If this is your case, the following KnowledgeBase 3JL6JQSF explains how to solve your problem. If that doesn't work, this Discussion Forum post describes the same error and has some suggestions on how to fix the problem.
If this doesn’t help, here are some questions/suggestions:
    1) Are you running an example program?, If so, which one?
    2) The necessary drivers for your board are: NI-DAQ, NI-VISA, IVI-Engine, and NI-SCOPE. What version of those drivers do you have? If you are missing any of them, you can download the latest versions under NI Drivers and Updates.
    3) Are you log onto your computer as the administrator?
    4) Try running a simple example called "niScope EX Getting Started.vi" located in LabVIEW under Help>>Find Examples and then browsing to Hardware Input and Output>>Modular Instruments>>NI-SCOPE>>General. Does the same error occur at niScope Initialize?
Let me know how it goes. Good luck,

  • Get "Error in Net Price Calculation" error while creating a Purchase Order

I am getting a error when i try to create a PO. Says "Error in Net Price Calculation item 00010(Please correct)"
I have defined conditon records with the price for the material  and have also created info record. However the price in the info record (including currency i.e USDN is different than the one defined in the conditon records currency is USD).
However the price is different from the one defined in info record and in material master.
Where is it picking the price from also is there any way to edit the price in material master or info record ?
Also when i view the condition records by using Tcode MEK1 i get the following error
"Access Pricing Purchasing Z00q 20 contains no fields"
I know Z001 is the access sequence
Can any one tell me wht is this error message about ?

how can u maintain the condition record as well as info record for a vendor -material in the same time frame
    it is not possibe
as info record is also 1 of the condition table
if u have maintained the info record then system is going to fetch the data from there but point top notice is it depends on the validity of record
system fetch the price from info record
and the currency used is fom vendor master

  • Quantity Conversion Error in Net Price Calculation

We are currently using SRM 5.0 ECS where we created a material PO and had a problem with the product not having the language E maintain in the material master. This caused the PO to have status of "error in process"  Once we fixed this issue and tried to reprocess the PO we're not getting the following error message in the Application Monitor:
No Instance of Object type PurchaseOrder has been created. External Reference
Puchase Order still contains faulty Items
Quantity Conversion Error in Net Price Calculation
Has anyone seen this or know what we can do to resolve this so that the PO gets replicated in R3?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Robert,
Regarding this backend error E 212 06 Quantity conversion error in net
    price calculation.
This error is because in the PO Order price unit is empty. And
quantity is null. So, please enter the quantity and order price unit
for this PO and order the PO again. Or you can retransfer the
PO manually using the FM BBP_PD_PO_TRANSFER_EXEC. (for this fm you need
to input the PO header guid, which you will get it from tx.BBP_PD
by providing PO number and object type as BUS2201).
This has worked for other customers.
    Hope this helps,

  • ME21N--Quantity conversion error in net price calculation

    Hi MM experts,
Issue: while creating PO, when attempting to add the net price for line item. but system removes the cost and gives the follow error message says "Quantity conversion error in net price calculation".
The system was not able to convert the order unit into the purchase order price unit. Possible reasons:
    i) the conversion results in a net price that is too high, or
ii) the conversion factor for the units has not been properly maintained.
iii) Check whether the units of measure and their conversion factor are correct.
    I have checked material master>unit of measure> 1 PL = 22 KG maintained.
Can you please tell me how to resolve this issue?
    Appreciated early response.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Net Price Calculation Error in LSMW(Direct Input)

    Hi,
i am using LSMW-Direct Input method for Creating Purchase Order .i am facing Problem like Quantity Conversion error in Net Price Calculation.
Any one please help me out.
    Regards,
    Shobha Henry

Best practice would be to use BAPI/ALE method instead of direct input but if you've already done with the mapping etc. try putting a break point in the generated LSMW program where the net price is calculated and transferred to SAP field and then run it to see in the debugger what's going on. I reckon its possibly a type compatibility error.
    Hope this helps,
