L BMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-13.11.x86_64.rpm RHEL6
Hi,
After installing the Java on Redhat Linux 6 as below for NetWeaver 7.3 installation. not able to see that java is installed using the command lines
for installation...
rpm -iv IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-13.11.x86_64.rpm ( when retried to install says already installed)
Checking Java version..with these commands gives an error that java not found.
java -version
java -fullversion
which java - gives an error that no java in /usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/home/SAPNW73/bin.
Please let me know if I am missing anything here on RHEL 6 for NW 7.3 installation.
Thanks,
Shai

If you have installed the Java already then set the JAVA_HOME like below
export JAVA_HOME = /usr/IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-13.11 and try again.
or
1. Go to /etc directory.
2. Open bashrc file.
3. Add following parameters at the end of the file:
a. export JAVA_HOME=/usr/IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-13.11
b. export PATH=$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH
c. export CLASSPATH=.:$JAVA_HOME/lib/classes.zip
4. Save the changes.
5. Execute command - # bash
6. Execute # echo $JAVA_HOME to verify JAVA_HOME variable is set properly.
Note 1172419 - Linux: Supported Java versions on the x86_64 platform
After setting above variable, try for Java -version or WHICH JAVA

Hi,
New to linux, slowly building first SAP servers on RHEL 5.2.
As par SAP Note 1048303 the Java version to install on the machine is supposed to be IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-10.0.x86_64.rpm.
Problem is IBM Web Site now only lists IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-12.0.x86_64.rpm, that is SR12 and not SR10. The page IBM Java for ISV:
https://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/iwm/web/reg/download.do?lang=en_US&source=swg-ibmjavaisv&S_TACT=IBMJavaISV&codePage=UTF-8&cp=UTF-8&S_PKG=sap
Now only lists SR12
Link in SAP Note 1172419:
https://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/iwm/web/reg/download.do?source=lxdk& S_PKG=amd64142sr10&S_TACT=105AGX05&S_CMP=JDK&lang=en_US&cp=UTF-8
is now a dead link.
I tried to install with SR12 anyway, but I am facing issues with the unrestricted.zip JCE Unlimited Strength file, complaining about the unrestricted policies to be signed by an invalid trusted signer.
I got my unrestricted.zip file per SAP Note 739043 - How to Check for Full Strength Jurisdiction Policies.
So, either an unrestricted.zip that goes with SR12, or where can I get Linux AMD_64 SR10 version?
Thanks,
JPI shall disagree with your comment.
From note 739043:
Here the URL of the IBM download site, for SDK 1.4:
https://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/iwm/web/preLogin.do?source=jcesdk
Please select=> Unrestricted JCE Policy files for SDK 1.4.2 and download file "unrestricted.zip" which contains 2 files:
local_policy.jar, US_export_policy.jar
And I finally found my error. The unrestricted.zip file I had was from an 1.4.2-09 Java version we used earlier with a RHEL 4.0 installation.
Downloading the latest unrestricted.zip file one from IBM site did the trick.
At last, concerning the missing IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-10.0.x86_64, well I just used the current version from IBM web site (IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-12.0.x86_64) and installation went fine and the system is working properly now.
Thanks. Solved. -

Thanks & RegardsHi,
This problem normally arises with the wrong combination of JDK and OS and for the Linux machines, its better to use IBM Java instead of SUN java
I remember that I have solved this type of problem by using lower version of IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-10.0.x86_64.rpm which is SR10. You can download this version from
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/linux/download.html
go to download _12 and then just change the sr12 to sr10 in the header url....

with the higher versions of java for 64bit systems create serious stack over flow problems.....
what I suggest you is to start reinstallating SolMan after installing IBM java sr10 version...

NW04s Linux Trial : problem installing IBM JDK Fedora Core 6
Hi,
I'm trying to install the NW04S Linux Preview on a Fedora Core 6 distribution and I'm encountering a problem with the IBM JDK 1.4.2 installation.
I've downloaded the RPM package from IBM (IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-7.0.x86_64.rpm
), installed it as root but when I try to invoke the virtual machine (java) or the compiler (javac), I got the following error :
libjvm.so preloadLibrary: /libj9vm22.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
libjvm.so failed to load: j9vm22
Has anyone tried to install the Linux Preview on Fedora and encountered the same problem. It might be connected to some sort of the linux dynamic linker/loader (ld.so) or versions of librairies.
I'm really lost here and I won't be able to start the installation without a working virtual machine.
ThanksI have double checked the link provided to the IBM JDK in the Linux Trial and it seems I had the wrong version. I've downloaded IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-7.0.x86_64.rpm (1.4.2-7) and the special version for SAP is the IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-2.0.x86_64.rpm (1.4.2-2).
I have installed it : rpm -ivh IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-2.0.x86_64.rpm
I have installed it and activated it as the default JVM using alternatives command :
alternatives --install /usr/bin/java java /opt/IBMJava2-amd64-142/bin/java 2
alternatives --config java
I now have a different error :
[root@macpro ~]# java
JVM not found: libjvm.so - libjvm.so
What could have I done wrong ?
Thanks for you help -

Hello
How should I know which JAVA I have installed on: when Issue-ing command "java -version".
I get response like :
java version "1.4.2"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 2.3)
IBM J9 VM (build 2.3, J2RE 1.4.2 IBM J9 2.3 Linux amd64-64 j9vmxa64142-20080923 (JIT enabled)
J9VM - 20080922_23329_LHdSMr
JIT - 20080815_1845_r8
GC - 200809_04)
I know it comes from files like "IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-12.0.x86_64.rpm" or " IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-13.2.x86_64.rpm"
But how to find out. It is an productive system so I can not "try"
Thank you in advanceHello
In any case java is instaled to /opt/IBMJava2-amd64-142 (this is an unix machine). This is also JAVA_HOME and SAPINST.... variable
This is when I install from "IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-12.0.x86_64.rpm" or from "IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-13.2.x86_64.rpm". When I enter java -version I get (as stated before):
java version "1.4.2"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 2.3)
IBM J9 VM (build 2.3, J2RE 1.4.2 IBM J9 2.3 Linux amd64-64 j9vmxa64142ifx-20090909 (JIT enabled)
J9VM - 20090908_41946_LHdSMr
JIT - 20090210_1447ifx1_r8
GC - 200902_24)
How could I know it comes from "IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-13.2.x86_64.rpm"(version 13 i.e latest) or "IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-12.0.x86_64.rpm"

So, can you tell me what I have to do to overcome this problem??
Best regards,
João Dimas - PortugalHi Rajesh Narkhede,
My architecture is X86_64 and I already know which JDK I have to install... I install the IBM JDK 1.4.2 , this is recommended for SAP Installation on Linux with 64 bit... Sun has no 64bit 1.4.2 JDK for Linux so I had to install the IBM JDK.
That is in SAP Note 1090932 - IBM download site for special JDK builds - iFix. (and the file that I downloaded and installed in my linux was IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-13.0.x86_64.rpm)
Secondly, it is a fresh install of Linux and FIREWALL and SELINUX is turned off, as you can see in following image:
http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/7771/firewallslinux.jpg
That two variables JAVA_HOME and PATH I already export them, it seems well done! I also check other things/values that you talk and as you can see below I think we all are well configured:
[root@redhatsap ~]# which java
/opt/IBMJava2-amd64-142/bin/java
[root@redhatsap ~]# java -version
java version "1.4.2"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 2.3)
IBM J9 VM (build 2.3, J2RE 1.4.2 IBM J9 2.3 Linux amd64-64 j9vmxa64142-20090310 (JIT enabled)
J9VM - 20090309_31291_LHdSMr
JIT - 20090210_1447ifx1_r8
GC - 200902_24)
[root@redhatsap ~]# ls -l /usr/bin/java
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 Feb 10 14:30 /usr/bin/java -> /etc/alternatives/java
[root@redhatsap ~]# ls -l /etc/alternatives/java
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 35 Feb 10 14:30 /etc/alternatives/java -> /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.4.2-gcj/bin/java
And xclock is worked!
But sapinst continue not worked... when I type de command ./sapinst it show me that error! I don´t believe in this... I don´t get the solution for this situation!! Oh man...
Teach me please one thing, how do I set the variables JAVA_HOME and PATH to mantain them permanently even after reboot, because when I do a reboot both variables disappear, they are temporary!! How can I set them permanently in system?
Kind regards

ECC6 install Linux_X86_64 for Oracle fail at step Configure Oracle Network
Deal all,
When I finished the Oracle installation and Patch updates(Oracle version is 10.2 from SAP and also Patch from SAP), I press "ok" to continue to install it from the GUI but the error message pop up.
"OracleNetworkConfigurator.doServerNetworkConfiguration:Argument listenerOraTemplate must point to an existing file...) you may...
Then I check the detail log for more information:
CJS-00030 Assertion failed:OraNetworkConfigurator.doServerNetworkConfiguration::Argument listenerOraTemplate must point to an existing file...)
FCO-00011 The step doNetworkConfigurationServer with Step key.....
the later information still like ::Argument listenerOraTemplate must point to an existing file...
How should I do ? What's the reason? But when I install Oracle 10.2, there also several errors but ignored by me. Is there any relationship between them?
Anyone can help me? Thank you!

Environment Variables for Linux
Hi All
I am trying to set the Environement Variables on RHEL 5.2(64 Bit) for SM 7.0 Installation
- I have installed the RPM "IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-11.0.x86_64.rpm"
- I have set the Environment Variable in .bash_profile file as below:
export JAVA_HOME=/opt/IBMJava2-amd64-142
expot PATH=$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH
Logged out of root and logged in, but I am not able to see the correct JAVA -Version
Its still showing the GNU version.
Can you please let me know that was correct ?
Thanks
SriYou can simply use those commands in the shell that is open and in which you want to start the installation. There's no need to make this permanent for user "root".
Sapinst will configure the new users correctly with the correct PATH.

Java SDK j2sdk-1_4_2_13-windows-amd64.exe download
Hello everyone,
Someone could provide me the version of the SDK SUN 13 for Windows. X86_64 (j2sdk-1_4_2_13-windows-amd64.exe)?.
Version 16 now available for download on note 941595 is a bug with Kerberos.
Thank you.Hi Alejandro
were you able to find it? i ran into the same issue. Look at SAP note 941595. There you find the download link. Register for a fee Sun account and you get the link to the lastest patch. If you want a previous version however, copy the hyperlink and change the filename to which you like. In this case: http://javashoplm.sun.com/ECom/docs/Welcome.jsp?StoreId=22&PartDetailId=j2sdk-1.4.2_13-amd64-JPR&SiteId=JSC&TransactionId=try
Now you can download the file.

Java SDK in Fedora Core 3 (64 bit)
Ok, I'm running on an AMD 64 so to install the java sdk I downloaded j2sdk-1_4_2_06-linux-ia64-rpm.bin. Next, I followed the instuctions located here: http://java.sun.com/products/archiv...tml#install-pkg
This is what my terminal looked like:
[root@localhost uphu]# chmod a+x j2sdk-1_4_2_06-linux-ia64-rpm.bin
[root@localhost uphu]# ./j2sdk-1_4_2_06-linux-ia64-rpm.bin

So, any idea what's the matter? You need linux-amd64 binaries to run on your amd64 machine This support was first released in the Tiger/1.5.0/5.0 release. If you must stay with 1.4.2, note that you can also run the linux-x86 binaries in 32-bit mode.
