L355 s7195 freezes several minutes after startup. does not respond to anything. possible faulty fan.

okay so ive had so many problems with this laptop. i got in auguast and ive had to reformat it twice, the first time was a week after i got it.
so a while ago it started this thing where it woudl freeze up 5 or ten minutes after i started it up. I had no idea what was going on, i uninstalled several programs, to see if they were causing it (aim, videogames and such) and nothing worked. finally someone told me it could be because of the system overheating. i listened to his advice and let it sit a couple hours for it to cool off. i turned it back on and it worked fine. i reinstalled everything and it worked fine for about a month.
a couple days ago i had a windows update, which it kept insisting to restart for. I had to use it for school so i waited till i got home to restart it. actually i just shut it off and i figured it would finish configuring the updates when i turned it on the next morning. I did so and after configuring the updates, it started again. Freezing 5-10 minutes after i turned it on. this was last friday morning. this time i thought i knew what the problem was. i left it off throughout the day and when i got home i took it out and again it froze. the next day i was extremely busy so i didn't even get to check it then. i tried it again sunday, mind you this was after 2 days, and it was still freezing. ive tried it several times the last couple days. now im getting really pissed. I'm about to call toshiba support but i was just wondering if there was some small mistake i was making that i can do to fix this.

  • Firefox 4.0 freezes, crashes, closes, changes screens, does not respond, and runs 8X SLOWER than 3.6.

Firefox 4.0 is the WORST browser I have ever seen. It freezes, crashes, closes, changes screens, does not respond, and runs 8X SLOWER than 3.6. Tasks I used to do in 30 minutes, now takes me 40 minutes or more. I went back to 3.6 and immediately had a tremendous improvement.
Mozilla needs to get rid of this load of lies about a new crap program, and go back to the 3.6 version. Version 4.0 is WORST than any other program I have ever seen.

The slow / hesitant scrolling problem seems to be an artifact of the database Firefox uses to keep track of where you go, what you do, etc. It uses sqlite databases which get fragmented over time.
    There are several fixes:
Some are add-ons and work internally, such as Vacuum Places (search the addons for it).
Some are external. Speedyfox is one I just tried, and found to work quite well. I think it did a better job than Vacuum Places, but requires Firefox to be shut down before it can work properly.
Find Speedyfox using a web search.

  • My phone freezes and the touch screen does not respond to my touch.

My i-phone 4 has been freezing up on me as of late.  The buttons will still work but the touch screen does not respond to my touch.
Is my phone hooped or can I do sometinhg to fix it?

First thing to try is a reboot of your iPhone. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPhone restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • My brand new MacBook Air just went to a black screen. Beeps at constant short intervals. Keypad is lit. Does not respond to anything. Any ideas?

I just purchased a new MacBook Air last night from my local Apple Store. All was well until this morning when suddenly the screen went black and non-responsive. It beeps every few seconds and the keyboard is lit. The beep continues even when the cover is down. The battery is about 3/4 full. Did I get a lemon? I've only had the machine for about 16 hours and I'm a bit frustrated. Any help would be most appreciated.

Apple will take care of that,  if you're worried about private data you can't access, it's no worry,
you're SSD will be recycled and you're data will not end up in anyone's hands
Your ID will also be deauthorized from the unit by Apple

  • My iPad Mini has a black screen and does not respond to anything.

I got my iPad Mini 6 days ago, and this morning I woke up to it overheating (to a point which any contact with it, or the case) was painful. Along with this overheating, the screen was and still is black. The iPad is not responding when I try to turn it on, off, hard reset it, etc.. It has not been taken off charge in approximately 6 hours, so I highly doubt lack of battery is a reason.
HElp, please. And thank you in advance.

Time to make an appointment with Apple.

  • Installed new Ram & 10 minutes after startup the computer keeps freezing.

I have mac book pro from 2006 (1.83ghz)  I recently installed 2 new 1G ram chips from crucial for a total ram of 2G. I am running osx 10.6. and 10 minutes after startup the computer keeps freezing.  Could it be that 10.6 is too much for the processor?

10.6 is not "too much for" your MBP. You may have gotten a faulty RAM module — it happens.
Start your machine up while holding down the D key, and when Apple Hardware Test appears, select the Extended Test. Run the extended test at least once all the way through, if you can, and post back with the exact text of any error message it reports.
If the test can't be completed, you definitely have a hardware problem, and the first suspect is the new RAM. In that case, reinstall the RAM that originally came in your machine and run the extended test again. If it is completed without errors this time, the Crucial RAM is clearly at fault and should be exchanged.

  • PPro CC14 won't stop crashing and freezing only minutes after editing commences...

I seem to have tried everything to fix the issue but PPro CC14 won't stop crashing and freezing only minutes after editing commences. I am working on a Mac and have just updated to Mavericks as a final attempt to help solve the problem. I have tried calling Adobe but their phone support in Australia is shocking. I have resorted to posting here but haven't had any help yet. I really need to sort this issue out ASAP.

Its it possibly related to your graphics drivers?  Seems similar to something I was experiencing that was resolved by updating my nvida cuda drivers (see thread link).  I also started running activity monitor to keep track of the memory and processor use.  That said after solving the problem by updating my drivers and switching to the CUDA acceleration, on occasion I get into ruts where it opens and freezes all the time.  It does seem helpful to try and reduce project size if possible - I normal keep a track record of sequence revisions and such, but when possible it seems that clearing out as much as possible by deleting or project managing into a new project can help things run better.

  • My iMac freezes up shortly after startup.

My iMac freezes up shortly after startup. I can't move the mouse or use the keyboard. I have to manually shut down several times before it would work.

    Hi patrickbryant,
Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
If your iMac is becoming unresponsive when you start up, I recommend trying to boot into Safe Mode as well as using Disk Utility to verify your hard disk. You can find these steps outlined at this link:

I am having trouble viewing iStore. It appears as if its a Flash issue, as several minutes after logging in to iStore I get a non-flash page of iStore in my iTunes window. I have re-installed everything and tried opening all ports in router, and used msconfig to bring up each service individually to see if there is an effect.Flash and iTunes have been re-installed  ...any ideas?

I agree. I don't rely on iCloud as a backup, that is what I have my portable hard drive for. Its 500 GB so I can hold my entire iTunes library several times over on it. I have all my movies on my hard drive, but somehow "The Mist" got deleted off of my hard drive, so I figured "Well, the option to redownload an already purchased movie is available through iCloud, I'll just do that!"
And permissions and download availability have nothing to do with it, the movie's still there, it still allows me to redownload it. The only problem is when I click download, I get that message.
And nobody else uses my computer, but I do have multiple accounts authorized on it. Even still though, I am attepmpting to download it through the account I purchased it under. :/

  • My Adobe acrobat X Pro does not respond after a minute I open up a pdf file

I recently have installed Adobe Master Suite CS6 Collection. My Adobe acrobat X Pro does not respond after a minute I open up a pdf file. This happens every time when open a new pdf file. My operating system is Windows 7 pro ( Lenovo-64 bits). Any suggestions would be appreciated !!

    Thank you for the suggestions.
I checked the WIndows log files. It reported the following error:
The program Acrobat.exe version 10.1.1.33 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.
    Process ID: 4770
    Start Time: 01d0079a09bba381
    Termination Time: 13
    Application Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe
    Report Id: 4f145db6-7391-11e4-8fc1-005056c00001
I ran for the memory diagnostics as it showed the error with video card error. My NVDIA graphics card is not working properly. Do you think that could be a problem?I am running on Windows 7 64 bit computer. It also complains about the incompatibility with 64 bits.
    Thank you.

If the RAM and HDD have been ruled out, then it is either a motherboard or CPU issue, and would require service to repair.
