My iPad Mini has a black screen and does not respond to anything.
I got my iPad Mini 6 days ago, and this morning I woke up to it overheating (to a point which any contact with it, or the case) was painful. Along with this overheating, the screen was and still is black. The iPad is not responding when I try to turn it on, off, hard reset it, etc.. It has not been taken off charge in approximately 6 hours, so I highly doubt lack of battery is a reason.
HElp, please. And thank you in advance.
Time to make an appointment with Apple.

PopcornTime starts with a black screen and does not load
I installed PopcornTime from the AUR and it does not seem to load. When I launch the application, it simply loads a black screen and does not move from there. When I launch the application from the terminal, I get this output.

It seems as though quite a few files are missing, though the yaourt built the application just fine.I had the same issue with the git version. Install the stable version and it should work fine

I have tried everything that i can to get my ipod to turn on. It has a black screen and hasnt done anything atleast 2 weeks. Please help.
1. Can you get it to light up doing a hard reset and holding the buttons down for at least a minute?
2. Is it charged up?
3. Is the USB power cable good?
4. Can you get iTunes to recognize using recovery or DFU mode?

My iPad just stopped playing videos. The original app that comes with the iPad opens with a blank black screen. I have shut all apps, and the shutdown the co ad, but no effect. Where to from here?
Try searching for the name of one of your videos on the iPad's spotlight search screen - swipe your first homescreen to the right, type in it's name, and if it finds it tap on it to see if it plays.
If that doesn't work then I normally suggest closing the Videos app via the taskbar and re-opening it, and then a reset by pressing and holding both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds unilt the Apple logo should appear - but as it sounds like you've alreadt tried that, then see if the spotlight search works. -

I changed to Mozilla Firefox from Internet explorer months ago. Very pleased with features, service, etc. A couple of weeks ago, I got an update message while doing some work but did not install the update at the time. Another update message came up with an accompanying, confusing note indicating some dangerous possible consequences if I did not install the update.
A few keystrokes later and my screen seemed to go haywire, and my laptop would not respond to my cursor. I shut down. When I restarted and went to the Firefox shortcut icon a tiny (1"x 1/4") replica of part of the normal Yahoo!/Firefox screen appeared and continues to do so each time I attempt to use Firefox. I'm now back to Internet explorer. HELP me get back to using Mozilla.Right-click on the Firefox image in that little Firefox window and see if '''Maximize''' is available in that context menu. If so, click on Maximize.
To be clear, Yahoo!/Firefox is a modified version of the official Firefox program and may have faults that aren't in the official version. -

you probably have a bad video card. The decision would be up to you but for that PC because it was so unique I'd look for an Authorized HP Repair facility in your area, that way they will know how to take it apart. The video card in this system has a heat sink attached to it as well and it pretty involved. You can replace it on your own, but it would be pretty involved. Satellite A135 black screen and does not boot
I have a Satellite A135 running windows vista and I have not used it in over a year.
I have gone to use it today and it powers up but the screen is blank. I can't even see the bios.
I have tried the usual things connecting to a monitor , removed the ram chip from the back and tried a different one, I also tried ac power only with no luck.
Any ideas what it could be.

I have similar problems with the grey screen syndrome, I connected the computer to an external monitor and had to repeatedly reselect the monitor to PC as the monitor defaulted each time to AV1. Reselecting PC appeared to work. Best of luck, I have been grappling with this problem for months! -

IPad 2 stuck in recovery mode and does not respond to usual cures.
I wonder if anyone can suggest what further I can do to get an iPad 2 16MB WiFI model out of recovery mode. The machine was previously working normally but after a charge would not turn on. It connected to iTunes on a Windows system when started using the home button press before USB plug method. iTunes reported the iPad in restore mode even though the diagnostic tools menu in iTunes said that the ipad was not connected. The Windows system device manager showed that the Apple USB driver was loaded but did not show the iPad as a device. However, running restore from iTunes seemed to work correctly with the progress bar showing on the iPad and the information bar on iTunes showing installation of software and firmware. iTunes then said that the iPad would restart - but it did not. It just stayed in restore mode. A new USB cable made no difference and the same thing happens when I repeat the attempted restore on another Windows system. I have done the attempted restore multiple times as has been suggested is needed. I also let the battery run flat before doing restore attempts. Both Windows system were cleaned of everything non essential and the iTunes is up to date. Doing the restore from DFU mode gives the same result. I have occasionally had the error code oxe8000084 reported by iTunes. Am I dealing with a hardware fault?

Hold down on the sleep button AND the home button at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart.
BTW ...In order to start up under normal circumstances you only need to hold down on the sleep button for a couple of seconds or so until the Apple logo appears on the screen. -
