LABVIEW 2009 and lvanlys.dll

Hi,
I'm relatively new to LABVIEW and I'm building an application with LABVIEW 2009.  The application works well on my PC.  However, the application is
intended to be ran on another machine.  I then tried two approaches.  First, I copied the executable file onto the second machine and second, I created
an installer file.  Both methods resulted in an error when the executable was ran on the second machine.  Here is the error:
"Missing external function lvanlys.dll Mean_Head.C in VI NI_AALBase.lvlib:Mean.vi".   I'm hoping anyone out there knows the solution to this.
Thanks!
Bobby C

I'm not sure that link is appropriate since it talks about LabVIEW 7.1 installer and windows NT.
For LabVIEW 8 or higher, make sure that the data folder is part of the install. Done correctly, there will be your application, the data folder, and in the data folder, lvanlys.dll.

  • Run-time engine problem in Labview 2009 and Labview 2010

I have a problem with Labview 2009 and Labview 2010. I updated my Labview 2009 into 2010. But it turned out to be a trial one, because i did not have the serial number. So I uninstalled the Labview 2010. however, the funny stuff came over. I cannot use my Labview 2009. So i uninstalled Labview 2009 again. But eventually, I could not reinstall Labview 2009. Every time i had a runtime error and i could not proceed with the installation. in addition, any installation  related to Labview is not permitted and the same error came up every time. it is very annoying.
    So, What is the deal?
I attached the error here. Any comments or advice are welcomed and appreciated.

By chance is this machine's language set to any non-English locale?  You would check the locale setting by:
    Opening Control Panel.
    Opening "Regional and Language Options".
Looking Under "Regional Options" >> "Standards and Formats"
If it is set to something besides English, trying setting it to English and please report back what locale it was set to (or if this even solves the problem).

  • LabVIEW 2009 and its sp1

I have the LabVIEW 2009 and LABVIEW 2009 SP1.  Do I have to install 2009 first and then 2009 SP1?  Or the 2009 SP1 also includes the full 2009.  The reason I am asking is that I installed my 2009 on a computer, which took forever by the way.  After the 2009 installation is completed, I installed the 2009 SP1, and it took pretty much the same amount of them, so I am wondering did I have to install both?

  • Labview 8.0 and lvanlys.dll

I had an application developed on Labview 8.0 and has the main file of it as llb and included it as project as well.
    I have 2 questions
1.How to create an installer using Labview 8.0 project window.?(i was able to creat exe,but when i create installer and install it in another pc which doesn't have any NI software,i'm not able to get the exe of the software.i'm not sure what im doing wrong?,Its able to show runtime engine 8.0.1 i guess)
2.My second is,My application requires lvanlys.dll.I had put the exe of the software in new pc and copied the lvanlys.dll file manually to that PC and when i try to run the executable,it shows "Generic Error:lvanlys.dll is not a valid labview file".Is this file dependant on labview version also?because i found in that PC,i have runtime engine of 7.1.1.But i had copied this dll (from resource folder)from a pc which has Labview 8.0 installed.
    Is this a mismatch?
Kindly provide help on the above 2 queries.
    Thanks

    1) To create installer in LabVIEW You have to right click Build Specification Select New and then Installer. A new window pops up ,select the way you you want installer to be made .Include the main VI in Source Files and in Additional Installers select LabVIEW RunTime Engine 8.0 (or the same LabVIEW Version in which you are creating the installer). After this click on Build and the installer will be made.
    2) Better provide lvanlys.dll of the same version. Or insatall DAQ drivers(or device drivers) corresponding to  the LabVIEW in which the installer was made.  For 8.0 you can install any drivers after NI DAQ 8.0 on the system you are running the exe.Or youcan include NI DAQ in Additional Installers whilecreating the installer.

  • TestStand LabVIEW OI and modelsupport2.dll

I'm trying to understand how to do some customization of the LabVIEW version of the TestStand (3.5) Operator Interface.  I need the default OI to change in several areas.  One in particular is that a teamate company (dictating the look and feel) wants us to have a Data Entry dialog.  They say that it's part of the TestStand Sequential Process Model and it's contained in ModelSupport2.dll, and that it contains its own GUI that is used by the process models.
I hope to develop tests in LV8.  As a first step, I'm trying to understand how (and when) to call the functions within the modelsupport2.dll.  I there any documentation on the functions within (other than the .h)?  Can someone walk me through an example where a sequence file (or is the call made from LabVIEW?) displays some dialog that is supposedly in modelsupport2.dll?

There's several dialogs in modelsupport2. There's the serial number dialogs for the sequential model, parallel model, and batch model. The only other dialogs are for the report file options and model options. The last two are what you get when select Configure>Report Options and Configure Model Options. The serial number dialogs are called in the process model like the other company said and I don't know of any test sequence or OI that would call them directly. If you want to override them and use your own serial number dialog, then you can put own callback in a sequence.

  • Potential Bug with LabVIEW 2009, Report Generation Toolkit, and MS Office 2003

We have discovered an issue with the above listed software.  Specifically this pertains to Print Report.vi in the Report Gen palette.  Basically, we have discovered that with Office 2003 installed the VI will error out.  We've been using it in an executable, and the executable physically fails (and asks us to report an error to Microsoft).  With Office 2007 we don't have a problem.  We've tried building the examples into executables, and those work because they are printing HTML reports.
Also, we have converted back to LabVIEW 8.6 and rebuilt the executable and installed and it works perfectly.  Its on the combination of LabVIEW 2009 and Office 2003 that seems to fail.

yeah, we had seen that, and been told about it by another user.  we tried, to no avail.  we still have ended up having to migrate back to 8.6.1 to get the executable to run properly.

  • VLC and LabView 2009

I am trying to use the latest ActiveX VLC v1.1.4 in LabView, and every time I insert the VLC ActiveX Object, LabView crashes.  I've read other posts which noted success by either: 1) using a web browser ActiveX object calling VLC or 2)  finding a unique older version of VLC which doesn't cause their particular version of LabView to crash.
I have yet to find a version of VLC which works with LabView 2009, and I'd prefer not to call a web browser ActiveX component just to play a video with VLC.
Has anyone had success integrating a VLC ActiveX object in LabView 2009?

Hi, thank you for your reply!
I have just fixed the problem!  I have replaced all the content in "D:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\MKL" with another copy from my classmate who has successfully installed labVIEW2012. And it worked!
The problem was that when I tried to add an "simulation signal" component in the Block Diagram, an error message kept popping up indicating an error in  loading "D:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\resource\lvanlys.dll"  and DLL initialization examples failed. These messages kept popping up for dozens of times and finally a blank "simulation signal" component with no available attribute came up.
I guess the reason of this problem is that  I have uninstalled labVIEW2013 on this computer before. When I searched the Internet I found that there is  something wrong with the NI uninstallation and after you reinstall it there will be all kinds of problems.
Anyway it is so great that my labVIEW finally works, after I have spent this whole week trying all kinds of methods I can find on the Internet  to fix it !

  • In block diagram connecting wire getting blur while saving the VI in LabVIEW 2009

    Hello,
I am using Labview 2009, And while I am saving  a simple VI connecting wires are getting blurry. What could be the problem?? Is it affect my program while running?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Go into Tools>>Options, select the Block Diagram page and find the section called Constant Folding. If the CF for wires check box is checked, then this is most likely the reason. You can uncheck the check box and it won't affect the way your code runs.
If this isn't the case, you should upload an image of what it looks like.

  • Labview 2009 I/O assistant issue

    Hi,
I'm using labview 2009, and I can't get the I/O assistant to work-everytime I try to run it, it gives me the error message "Measurement & Automation Explorer or the Instrument I/O Assistant is not installed correctly. Please install these from LabVIEW Driver CD". I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the I/O assistant, but it's not helping-is there anything else that can cause this error I should be looking for?
    Thanks

    Hi ciwong,
This problem usually originates from installation order. You want to install the drivers after you install after you install LabVIEW.
Another things that jumps out is that you are listing NI VISA 488.2 as version 2.1. The current version of NI VISA is version 5 and the current version of NI 488.2 is version 2.73.

  • Build Specifications gone with LabVIEW 2009

I'm using LabVIEW 2009 and I still have the same problem as described in the following post (where all the answers were for older LabVIEW versions):
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/build-specifications-gone/m-p/625815
When I move a LabVIEW project from one PC to another, parts of the build specifications are gone. In the specification for the executable I have to redefine the start-up VI, the included files and the icon.
Is this a known issue and is there a fix for it?

    Hello,
this might be a corrupt project file. Does this only happen with this project?
If so, then I'd suggest recreating the project and the build specifications on the original PC and trying to migrate it again to the other PC.

  • Remove labview 2009 without using add/remove program

    Hi all,
I have problem with removing LabVIEW 2009.
I have deleted some folders in C drive, NI folder.
Now I can't run my LabVIEW 2009 and it doesn't show up in my add/remove program list.
I tried to delete all folder and files in C drive under NI folder, but error message pop out shows that I do not have the authority to do so.
So, how can I remove it completely ?
I intended to reinstall LabVIEW 2009 after I have removed it completely.
    Appreciate your help very much.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

That is why I say try to reinstall LabVIEW. It might just do a repair of your installation. Then you can use add/remove programs to completely uninstall it.
But when you completely uninstall it there will be NI folders remaining. These are things like user.lib.
Have you tried to reinstall the runtime engine?
One last thing. I don't know how you got your install so messed up but remember that if you build an installer you should not install that onto a system with the development environment. There are so many things that can go wrong.

Hi my name is phillip, a student developer working with labview 2009 and the Quanser DC Motor Control trainer with ELVIS II. I have failed to run the VI for speed control, it appears to be broken and says four sub-vi's are missing and they are "Intergrator.VI," "Integrator (DBL).VI," "Transfer Function.VI," "and "Transfer Function (DBL).VI.". I happen to have installed the control design and simulation toolkit but this has not solved the problem. Please help!!!!

Hi Phillk, I have the exact same problem with the missing VIs for the Quanser DC motor control with the NIELVIS also for Labview 2009.
Can you please tell me where I can find these VIs? Can you send them to me if it is possible?
    I would really appreciate it,
I need the Transfer Function.vi,  Transfer Function (DBL).vi and the integrators too.
