Labview PDA toolkit activation code

Hello,
I'm trying to activate the licence for the labview pda (for palm) toolkit.
In spite of the S/N is correct, i can t get an activation code. I get a
Developper Suite licence. I called NI support, even with my computer ID and
my S/N, they didn't managed to give me a valid activation code (eventhough
they checked the SN is a valid Developper Suite one).
The NI licence manager always tell me my SN is not the one for the product i
try to activate.
Any ideas?
Thx.
Olivier

I don't think any of the Developer Suites come with the PDA module. So the serial number for your Developer Suite will not work with the PDA module to activate it.
You should have received a separate serial number with the PDA module when you purchased it. That is the only one that will work to activate it.

  • Winsockread Error in LabVIEW PDA

Hi all. I am currently trying out the VI server example given in the LabVIEW PDA toolkit but i keep getting this error "WinsockRead error Error Code: 10054.
The LabVIEW example project I am using is "VI Server- Pocket PC.lvproj" and I have loaded the "CallByRef Wave - Pocket PC.vi"  into the PDA. I have a WIFI connection to a PC and have manually assigned IP address to both the PDA (192.168.100.101) and PC (192.168.100.100). I have verified my WIFI connection is working by using the "ping 192.168.100.101" command on my PC.
Also, I am configured my VI server correctly by selecting the enabling the TCP/IP protocol and ActiveX under the VI Server Configuration. The port number I used is 3363. I have also added the PDA IP address (192.168.100.101) to the Machine Access List.
When I try to run the example program on the PDA with the IP address "192.168.100.100" and a port number of 3363, I will get the error. Can anyone give advice on what I have missed out or done wrongly?
I forgot to mention that the remote program "TargetWave.vi" on the PC is loaded in memory and opened in LabVIEW also.
    Thanks in advance.

    D.Com,
I just thought of something else to try. You said you are using port 3363. The program was initially set up to use Port 3865. Did you change the VI server properties (From the project, right click on the my computer icon>>properties>>VI server: Configuration) to port 3363 or just the control on the front panel of the CallByRef Wave.vi? Both must be set to the same port.
Secondly, you may have to open a port in your firewall if you are using WindowsXP SP2. Initially I would completely disable the firewall and see if that solves the problem. If it does, then enable the firewall and create an exception of the port you've specified (3363).
As for using the trial version, this should have no impact on the performance of the toolkit.

  • Creating Activation code for LabVIEW Application Installer

    Hi,
How could we create Activation code for LabVIEW Application Exe to restrict use to Single PC using LabVIEW settings/add-ons.
I think NI should provide in-built feature in Application Builder to generate activation code as required.

  • LabVIEW PDA

    Hi! Everyone
I have to develope an application for PDA in LabVIEW. Can someone tell me how and where to start....the interface is with RS485. The PDA needs to scan for attached devices and report devices available.
There are some parameters to be acquired
    and data to be displayed.
I am not sure if it is a palm or pocket pc. If I start with the development of the Vis on LV Express, do I need to know the OS before hand....will that affect the VIs?
Can I use LV express base package to develop the VIs or do I need LV PDA toolkit for the development?
And if once I have deployed the program on the PDA, can I run it in debug mode and can I delete the program from the PDA or not?
If there are link which I could go through or programs to be taken as the star
    ting point...will be appreciated.
    Thanks!!

You Could develop your applications using LV express. The only problem is that all the features are not supported on the Palm or the PDA. You also need to know before hand as to what your execution target is as LAbview has a Palm module and a PDA module that are sold seperately. The link below has the PDA manual.
    http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/948645EDBFA39E1786256D2C0066B381?OpenDocument&node=132100_US
You could also look up the knowledge base for specifics for the PDA and Palm.
You can delete the program from the PDA. There are some example code and documentation at

  • LabView PDA module gives error "unable to lock memory chunk"

I've written a LabVIEW PDA Application that reads an ASCII decimal string through a PDA serial port. I can display the string ok, but when I try to convert the string to a number using the decimal string to number VI I get the error message "App failed. Error Code 172649003. Unable to lock memory chunk."
    Any ideas?

Does this happen whenever you use the string to number VI (can you reproduce this in an empty VI)?
Are you sure it happened because of that VI and not because of something else that is happening in the VI at the same time?
Can you cut down pieces of the code and still get the error? Can you post a small example?
    Which PDA\LV are you using?
Can you write some more details about your app (does it do anything else other than serial comm)?

  • Data to sql server using labview and labview sql toolkit

    Hello everyone,
I am using mssqlserver 7.0, labview 6.1 and labview sql toolkit.
I am getting error while i try to store (large) data of size more than 4000bytes. Has anyone come accross such problem .
Looking for your solutions or suggestion for the
    above said problem.

Check if the threshold is actual 4095 or 4096.
If so it is probably a default size of the field you are trying to write. If so, change table properties.

  • LabVIEW NXT toolkit and Vista

    Hi All,
This is not a burning problem, but have folks tried out the NXT toolkit with Vista?  I've installed Vista Business Edition under our MSDNAA license on a development machine to start slogging through compatability issues with our current suite of software, and it appears the LabVIEW NXT toolkit may be an early casualty.
The toolkit installs fine under Vista BusEd, but the NXT console application crashes when I try to run it from the LabVIEW IDE menu.
    Any thoughts/experiences with this?
    Best regards,
    -Bill  =]

    Hi Joel,
Thanks for your reply.  The specifics of my development system are below:
    OS: Windows Vista Business
Proc: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80 GHZ
    RAM: 1014 MB
    Type: 32-bit OS
I chose to use the Vista UPGRADE of WinXPsp2 rather than a wipe and clean install.  Before upgrading the OS I removed all previous versions of LabVIEW (7.1 and 8.0) and also removed the Mindstorms NXT-G system.
After the OS upgrade to 32-bit VistaBusEd, I installed LabVIEW 8.20, then Mindstorms NXT-G, several LabVIEW Toolkits and finally the LabVIEW NXT Toolkit.
When I try to load LabVIEW code that uses (for example) the sendDirectCommand.vi from the FantomSDK, I get the following block diagram error:
"Call Library Function Node 'fantom.dll:nFANTOM100_iNXT_sendDirectCommand': function not found in library
Details: The function name specified for this node cannot be found in the library.  Right-click the Call Library Function node and select Configure, then choose the correct function name.
When I follow the Details procedure, I specify the exact location of the fantom.dll, select nFANTOM100_iNXT_sendDirectCommand from the Function name dropdown listbox, the Thread is set to Reentrant and the Calling convention is set to "C".........after closing the dialog I get:
    Error loading "C:\.....path.....\fantom.dll".
A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed.
Also, when I create a blank vi and drop a function from the LabVIEW NXT toolkit, such as NXTToolkit.DC.FindNXT.vi on the block diagram, I imediately get the following similar error:
    Error loading "fantom.dll".
A dynamic line library (DLL) initialization routine failed.
    Does this help?
    Many thanks,
    -Bill  =]
p.s. - BTW, the Minstorms NXT-G system works as expected under the 32-bit VistaBusEd using both USB and Bluetooth.....so I guess VistaBusEd is able to intialize and communicate through the fantom.dll when used by NXT-G.

  • Labview PDA support USB?

Does the LabVIEW 8.0 PDA support USB communication?

    optomesures,
I have seen a regional option have this effect before.  I would check to see if you are using a period or a comma for the decimal point.  You might want to try following the steps in this KB to see if that helps.  If not then I might suggest checking out the Calling External Code in LabVIEW PDA KB as well.  One last thing to try would be to see if the code works on the Windows machine.  The DLL would have some problems, but make sure it is has at least a basic functionality.
    Hope this helps!

  • Has anyone ever succeeded to use the scope_identity() from the LabVIEW DB toolkit ?

    Hi,
Using LabVIEW 2014 DS, and MSSQL 2008R2.
I have configured a table with identity, so the indexed will be incremented automatically.
I am trying to get the ID of the last Insert command that I am using.
I am trying to SELECT SCOPE_IDENTITY() but with no success.
I read about trying to so it with a procedure or transaction, but I just could not succeed myself.
Has anyone ever succeeded to use the scope_identity() from the LabVIEW DB toolkit ?
If yes, can you please elaborate more or even share the code ?
    Thanks,
    Amitai.

Yes I have...let me dig out some code...
I do my INSERT query (with a semicolon at the end) and in the same query string do a "SELECT SCOPE_IDENTITY() as inserted_id;" - essentially what you're doing here is running two queries in one - one to insert your data and the second to retrieve the ID. From what I remember of when I did this (last year?), I think scope_identity() is valid for the same connection so as you're doing both queries in the same connection it should always be valid.
I then do this to get the ID (pardon the crappy VI snippet):
Essentially I execute the query and the result is a 2D array that contains one row/column which is your last inserted ID.

The way I understand it (I don't have any official knowledge, and I wouldn't mind hearing an explanation either), LV PDA converts its code into C code and then uses eVC to compile the code for the PDA. I assume you're using LV 8.0 because Visual Studio wasn't required in previous versions. Maybe it's also needed now in order to compile the code.

  • LabVIEW PDA reports COREDLL.DLL error when using Call Library Function Node

I'm trying to build a LV PDA app that calls an external DLL file built using embedded visual C. When configuring the Call Library Function node I select the stub DLL, configure the I/O parameters and select OK. When the configuration dialog closes I get the following error:
LabVIEW: LabVIEW.exe - Unable to Locate Component
This application has failed to start because COREDLL.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
I do not get this error when using the configuration dialog in the example VIs.
Any suggestions as to the cause and/or the solution?
    Thanks,

    Hello -
When you create a PDA VI that calls a DLL, you must include the .c or .lib file that corresponds to the DLL. Take a look at these documents:

  • Command line arguments with a Labview pda application

    Hi Everyone,
I am in the process of writing some Labview code to run on a PDA that is called from another vendor's software. When called, I need to pass some information to it (in the form of an integer) and then return an error code when it has finished its task (again, as an integer).
Not being able to compile a my application as a labview dll for to run on a PDA with Windows Mobile 2003, I was hoping to be able to pass command line arguments to my program when compiled as an executable. This doesn't seem to be possible.
Could someone please confirm that Labview PDA applications do not support command line arguments?
Any suggestions on how to meet my objective would be most welcome .
    Regards,
    Mark

    Paolo,
Thanks for your input: storing this information in a text file is a choice we are looking at. But it does leave us with the problem that the vendor's software will not necessarily know when our program has finished running, unless it continuously polls the file to see if there has been any update.
A dll would be ideal. I was hoping there might be a clever way of emulating this.
    Regards,
    Mark.
