Labview VI is getting closed by Windows error

Hello,
I have an labview program that I am working on. When running the VI I get this message "LavVIEW 7.1 Development System has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." It gives you the option to send the error report on not, and then is closes Labview. How do I go about troubleshooting this problem? How do I collect the error log? My program had seemed to function OK for several days of debugging and then this error started to happen regularly. It seems to be happening in a subVI that is reading an INI file.

I believe that if you send the error report, the screen that come up says something liek "thank you for submitting your report" and then there will be a "Details" button that gives you the text of the log file.

Why do I get a windows error every time I stop or close an executable?

Whenever I run an executable in any windows computer it runs fine but as soon as I stop or shut down the executable, I get and a windows error. The program that I have reads from compact Fieldpoints and processes those data. Once you close or stop the program, that is when I get the error. No other error is generated from LabVIEW, only windows error. I have been seeing this error since I upgraded to LabVIEW 2010. I never had this error before when I was using LabvIEW 7.1 or 9. I do not see the error when I am using the VI itself before the build, only when it becomes an executable is when it generates the error in windows.
If anybody knows anything about this pls. respond to this post. I have read somebody elses problem with the executable crashing but no one has posted a viable solution. It does not affect the functionality of the executable at all. It is just annoying that we keep getting the error/crash whenever we have to exit the program and new users keep asking about it.

Hello,
Perhaps there is a driver or LabVIEW compatibility issue here. What version of the cFP drivers do you currenty have installed? The most recent release of the cFP driver is 6.0.8 and can be downloaded at ni.com/updates. I would also install LabVIEW 2010 SP1. From your post, it appears you only have LV 2010 installed. The LV update may also assist in resolving the issue you are having with the executables. LV 2010 SP1 can be downloaded at ni.com/src if you have a purchased copy and not a trial version. Otherwise you can locate the trial at ni.com/labview. Hope this helps.

Labview 8.5.1's MathScript window failed running imread with an error "A problem occurred in a subVI call."

Hi,
I am trying to port a Matlab program into a MathScript script. Following is the first few lines of the script:

image_gray11=rgb2gray(image_double1);
In the first line, imread is supposed to read in a photo taken from a DSLR camera, so I think it's a 32-bit image. And this is the error I got when trying to run this script in the Labview 8.5.1's Mathscript windows:
"Error in function imread at line 2. A problem occurred in a subVI call."
What is the problem here? and why does it complain about a subVI call?

Hello Anh,
As you may know, LabVIEW MathScript is implemented on top of LabVIEW. The error message you received indicates that a problem occurred in one of the LabVIEW subVIs that MathScript calls. As Jim indicated, the problem is in the file type specifier you passed to the function. MathScript requires the use of 'JPEG' and not 'jpg' or even 'jpeg.' In this case, we could return a better error message. I have filed a bug report (115804) for this issue.
You will find that once you fix this, the im2double and rgb2gray functions are not supported. In LabVIEW MathScript, you generally can execute scripts written in the MATLAB® language syntax. However, the MathScript engine executes the scripts, and the MathScript engine does not support some functions that the MATLAB software supports.
We will look into adding these functions in a future release of LabVIEW MathScript. If you need this functionality now, these functions are very simple to write yourself. If you are performing additional image analysis in your script, you may wish to purchase the IMAQ toolkit. It doesn't add any functions to MathScript at this time, but you could continue your analysis outside of MathScript with LabVIEW VIs.

Firefox V4 opens Windows error message "Cannot find...."

I updated Firefox to version 4. Now, every time I open Firefox a Windows Error popup appears stating...

In spite of the error message, Firefox proceeds to open normally and takes me to Yahoo.com. Closing the error message has no affect pro or con...so, the message is merely a nuisance. I've tried everything I can think of to permanently remove it with no success. Running a deep scan to find out if it is a virus didn't find anything. Am using XP Home edition. By the way, I get a similar Windows error message when I try to open GMAIL, and Firefox then opens my GMAIL account. Weird.
Am hoping someone can tell me how to prevent these messages from appearing. Thanks in advance!

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Windows error - No Disk

For some reason when i connect my ipod to my computer, I know get the following windows error:
Windows - No Disk
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into the drive \Device\Harddisk1\DR13

I don't think the problem is related to the ipod itself. The message pops up even when my ipod isn't connected. I think the problem is related to iTunes or QuickTime. I thnk it might have something to do with iTunes trying to prevent piracy (or maybe the database file is just corrupted).
Just before this problem started, I installed a second internal hard drive for back up purposes and I made a copy of my ipod and my iTunes library (over 4,000 songs) on the new drive.
One thing I tried was to uninstall iTunes 6.0.5. I then reinstalled 6.0.4 while logged in as “Owner” (with admin rights). The same problem occurred when I tried to launch iTunes.
Next I created a new user, “Pete” (also with admin rights). Then I logged on as “Pete” and installed iTunes 6.0.4. I was able to get iTunes to open, but I was unable to see my original library (which was located under “C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Music\iTunes”). Next I copied my original library to “C:\Documents and Settings\Pete\My Documents\My Music\iTunes”. I again got the same error message, "Windows - No Disk. There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive."
This made me think that maybe my original library database somehow got corrupted.
Then I deleted the “C:\Documents and Settings\Pete\My Documents\My Music\iTunes” folder. I was again able to open iTunes but it showed no songs in my library. From iTunes, I was able to use “File”, “Add Folder to Library” to restore almost all my songs to the library from recent backups I had made of my ipod and the “C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Music\iTunes” folder.

     I recently installed Photoshop Elements 10 on my computer and everytime I want to do anything, I get the following Windows Error.

I previously had Elements 3.0 on this computer. My computer crashed and everything had to be re-installed. I could not put my hands on my 3.0 Disc, so I figured it was time to get the new version. Now, I'm not able to do anything.
     Any and all help would be greatly appericated.

The error you have encountered is a thumbnail error. If you view in your widows folder view explorer settings set to large, try setting it to small in all your image folder settings. This is a bug of windows inherited from SP2.

ITunes update shows runtime error R6034/iTunes error 7/Windows error 1114. iTunes tells me to reinstall but I've uninstalled/restalled and get same error messages.

After iTunes update I see this - Runtime error R6034 "application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly". ThenUninstalled then I also get iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes error 7 (Windows error 1114). I've tried fixes for runtime but computer says there are no errors. I've uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes and get all the above messages. Now when I start up my computer the runtime error pops up, but once it is closed computer works fine until I try to open iTunes. I've even tried a system restore going back to November. I use iTunes for audiobooks on iPod and I'm going to get desperate soon. Any suggestion?

Getting "setup.exe has stopped working" message when trying to install labview 2011 or 2012 on a windows 7 machine

I am getting a "setup.exe has stopped working" message when trying to install labview 2011 or 2012 on a windows 7 machine. I already tried running setup.exe as an administrator with the same results. I have Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 installed on the affected machine. Could this be the cause of this issue? Or does someone know the root cause of such error?

Hi - are you getting it at the start of installation, during or after 100% progress has finished?
Is it just LabVIEW you're installing, or is it drivers too, in which case, what was the last large package that was installing at the time?

Java.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows

We are running win2000, with jre 1.4 and getting the following message at a particular point in our program:
"java.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created."
I have 2 questions:
1) does anyone know what would cause this?
2) does anyone know where this log file is generated to?

We are getting same error with jdk1.6,
we can get drwtsn32.log file for user home/documents folder by running with following option. -XX:+ShowMessageBoxOnError

I have the ebooks associated to one of them but every time I download Adobe Digital Editions, independently from what user I download it, it always create the Adobe Digital Editions associated to the worng user. If I try to delete the Authoritation it says that it is nor posible and recommneds me to try later, but I never get it.

Browser gets closed abruptly producing 'Program Error' on launched browser

Hi all,
I have a applet program (code copied below). The applet just launches a test frame. The applet is launched by clicking on a 'launch' button in a browser(either Netscape or Mozilla).
When user closes the frame by clicking on frame close icon, the applet's stop() is invoked. In applet's stop, there are some system resource cleaning code and code for closing the applet window.
But when user closes the frame, and before applet window gets closed, if user again clicks on 'launch' button in the parent browser, the whole browser gets closed abruptly producing a Program Error saying 'Netscp.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program' in case of netscape browser. The same happens for mozilla browser too.
what is the problem here?
how to fix it...

not at all since it only causes problems.
It works relativly stable on IE (since its an very old browser not updated since a long time -> SUN was able to work arround all the open IE bugs) but all other browsers cause troubles, call it opera, safari, konqueror or all the others.
The problem is that the plugin-interface requires a lot of interaction between the jvm and the browser and since browsers change very often it seems almost impossible to guarantee compatibility.
Sometimes it works, sometimes not, sometimes its just broken in one version and works in an older one.
I would suggest to stay away from java->javascript or the other was round...

Ipodservice.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows

I just bought a brand new Ipod and got the new iTunes 7 but whenever I plug in the iPod I get the "Ipodservice.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows" message and iTunes wont recognize the iPod. It seems to be recognized by windows. As soon as I restart the .exe it happens again (if the iPod is plugged in)

I keep getting the same error message saying iPodService.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. I have downloaded the latest version of iTunes and reinstalled and restarted my computer but still no go. Anyone got any ideas? Would really appreciate it as I've just got a new iPod nano and finding it very frustrating not being able to hook it up. Thanks in advance.

I'm going to jump in because I too am having the same issue. First of all, I created this issue when I clicked on a fake download site after a full day of installing software on my new laptop. When searching Google for itunes download, the first non-advertisement result says: Apple - iTunes - Download iTunes Now. Then it has you install a bunch of crap. I clicked accept a couple of times before noticing what I was doing (do not download and talk on the phone at the same time).
Jumping ahead to trying to install iTunes after that mess I created a series of errors. First it wouldn't install, then I got a error QTCF_CFUniCharGetUnicodePropertyDataForPlane could not be located in the dynamic link library QTCF.dll. and a few others. After a clean boot (on a Windows 7 machine), uninstall of all Apple products and re-install, I got the error above-Windows Error 2 and a message that Apple Application Support was not installed.
I followed your directions above and it fixed it. iTunes opened properly for the first time. I closed and opened again and it worked. So I went back to msconfig.exe and reset the laptop to boot to Normal setup and restarted.
Now when I open iTunes, I get the message below: iTunes has stopped working. Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.
Sigh. I've done a full virus scan, have uninstalled any programs that I didn't intend to install and disabled unknown extensions in my browsers but I still can't get iTunes to open and work.
