Labview was blocked when building communication through TCP/IP

I am trying to transfer data between a Labview system with Win2k and a RT system on PXI controller through TCP/IP. A problem is that when the Labview program started to build the communication to RT, the other Labview programs are all blocked. Howerver, the other application programs except Labview are running properly.

Thank you Mike.
I am trying to transfer data through TCP/IP and Ethernet. The source is a Labview RT program in a PXI controller, and the receiver is a Labview 6.1 program in a workstation with Win2k, and here we focus on the program in the workstation. Besides the communication program, some other Labview programs are also running in the workstation in the mean time.
The problem occurred at the beginning of the TCP connection: during the following several seconds after the communication program started, I cannot access any of the Labview programs (no response when click on any Labview program). Meanwhile, I found that the CPU usage and memory usage were in normal level and I can access any other windows application program properly. So it seems that the communication program held up all the LabVIEW programs when it started to build connection. Do you have any idea?

Ask the carrier in the US who the phone is locked to if they will unlock it for you - put an unlock request into that carrier.
Other than that and if they refuse to unlock it, then there is nothing you can do except buy a new phone.

  • Flexiable Communication through TCP/IP or RS-485 using VISA

I am trying to create a flexiable distributed application that can communicate over RS-485 or TCP/IP visa.  The application has a basic Host / Client(Listener) type of Architecture.  What I would like to be able to do is simply to change my Visa resource name from [Com4] to [TCP::192.168.1.10::3000::socket] and seemlessly change communication protocals.  The problem I am running into is creating a flexiable visa listener.  I tried using the visa events vi's, but I don't know what the syntax of the visa string should be.  Any thoughts or clarifing questions would be apprecaited.

    Hi,
I am using Compact FieldPoint 2120 with analog I/O to control a robot arm and i am trying to interface a third party device such as a mobile phone (using Java) to program and control the rotation of each joint of the robot arm. I understand this process can be done through TCP/IP or usign DSC software.
    For example:
Hosting on TCP port (?) and use the syntax
[newline]::[joint number]::[degree of freedom]::[set to angle in degrees]::
[arm number] = an ascii value 1 or 2 to determine which arm.
[joint number] = an ascii number value.
[degree of freedom] = ascii value x,y or z.
[set to angle in degrees] = ascii value between 0 and 360.
The true is that i have no clue how to set up the interface steps and i will appreciate if someone can suggest an easy way of doing the above steps and which software to use. I am currently using LabVIEW 8.20 for building the control model for the robot arm.
    Many thanks

  • Update was terminated when creating document through FBR2

    Hi,
I am getting the error "Update was terminated " when I try to change the GLcode and post the document through transaction FBR2. The ABAP dump error shows ASSERTION_FAILED in the program LGLIOA20 , form OBJECTNR_FIND_GLPCC. Moreover it's a V1 update.
I am not sure what data is missing during the posting. Can you suggest what would be the cause for termination occurred?

  • LabVIEW windows blocked when TS Engine used as a process

    Hello !
I'm currently building a TS User Interface, and I use TS as a process : to shortly summarize, I use the Top-Level VI of the full-feature user interface example shipped with TS.
The rest of my application consists in some other windows, all running in parallel and loaded at run-time in the subpanel of a main window according to user choices.
If I disbale my TS process, everything works fine.
If I add the TS process, sometimes (not all the times) my main window becomes un-responsive (I'm not able to move it, resize it, activate the buttons, etc...). But sometimes it works fine. Also, If I close this main window (using the icon of the VI in the task bar), everything closes finely, but the LV projetc becomes un-responsive ! I have to close the project (using the icon of the VI in the task bar) and relauch it to retrieve a normal behavior of my LV windows.
Is there any reason this happens ?
    I'm using LV2012f3, TS2012 on a Win7 32 bits laptop.

What do you exactly mean by "launching"? How much time is that (seconds, minutes)?
By launching I mean that the code of the Full UI - Top LevelVI is encapsulated in a VI named 'TSProcess.vi'.
In my Main.vi, I open a reference on TSProcess.vi and Run it. The first action in this TSProcess.vi is to hide the front panel. So its running and is not visible. This action takes about 5-7 seconds, the identification pop-up of TS appears to log in.
The recommended way for a User Interface for TestStand is to attach TestStand directly with the loading of the UI itself. So you can implement a Splash Screen (loading screen) which covers the time TestStand and the application require to get up and running properly.
My software is a bit more complicated than just a user interface for TS. It deals with Maintenance, Configuration, Translations, ... panels. The screens are all loaded in a subpanel in a main window according to user actions.
I do have 'processes' running in the background (not visible), communicating with the screens through events or any other comunication ways. For me TS is just a background process, and the Production screen (where you can rune sequences) only show messages sent through UIMessages. Moreover, my Maintenance screen will allow playing some sprecific sequences to debug my bench...
As you can see TS cannot be loaded in one UI, that's why it's running as a process. And the screens requiring TS actions communication with TSProcess.vi.
Do you mean I cannot use the TS API that way ??!!
For me it doesn't explain why my LabVIEW windowS are not responding (even the lvproj window seems to be stuck (responding to keyboard but not to mouse actions)).

  • What version of Labview was used to build my .exe?

Is there a way to tell what runtime engine I need for a particular .exe
    built by application builder?
    Thanks,

On newer versions, You can just try to run it and it will tell what's missing. (On very old LabVIEW versions, (e.g. 4.1) you don't need a runtime, everything is contained in the executable.)
If it is already running on a machine and you want to know the version it is using, do "help..about" (unless the menu is hidden or highly customized).
Don't forget to also install NiDAQ, etc. on the target system as needed.
You can always install multiple runtime versions concurrently. They coexist peacefully and LabVIEW will pick the right one for each application.

  • Serial Communication through TCP/IP Socket

There are several companies offering a serial to ethernet software solution--emulating a terminal server, however they are all for Windows or MAC. I am looking for a starting point, examples, or a final solution (yeah) that is 100% java. In the field, the device is a RS232 LED board connected to a hardware terminal server. The message software writes to a TCP/IP socket. For testing, I would like my notebook's serial port to emulate the terminal server (I have been using TCP/COM from TAL tech for Windows). I bounce back and forth between Windows and Linux (dual boot) and would like one consistent solution for testing on most any platform/flavor.

  • Sending file through TCP/IP

    Hi all,
I would like to know whether LabVIEW is able to send file through TCP/IP. Can anyone please enlighten me on this. Thank You
    Rgds

    Hi taytay,
Of course it is possible !
Go to function palette >> Communication >> TCP ; I have never used them but here they are.
Go to Help >> Find examples.. and search for TCP, you'll find example code
You can also purchase the "internet toolkit" that provide ready to use FTP VIs to send or copy simple/multiple file(s).
    Hope this helps.

I was in a conversation with a colleague and a text (identical) came to both of our phones, when he researched it, it said it was blocked and I thought I might see where it came from through my phone. Is it possible to get a spam like that to our phones at the same time.If the text came to my number marked from him, it could only have been from him?. Is there a possibility that someone else sent it to both of us at the same time?

Yes, it could be spam. I get spam text from time to time. Yes, you both could have gotten the same spam at the same time. Spammers re sending out thousands and thousands of messages.

  • Capture video through TCP/IP protocol in labview

Hi Friends, How to acquire video data using TCP/IP read? actually i am trying to control a robot using labview. This robot has WiFi card and has an ip 169.254.0.10. Robot control protocols are already burnt into blackfin processor, of the robot, example.... if i enter 8 in string control of front panel, robot will move forward, 2 is backward, 6 is right and 4 is left. Robot has camera and transmits images through tcp/ip protocols. well.... i am able to establish wifi connection between my PC nd robot and i am able to control it simply by entering corresponding numbers in string control of VI but i am not able to acquire video from the camera through TCP/IP read platelet. ( someone has created a java consol for this robot and i downloaded it from online forum. by running this consol i can control the robot and also accquire real time video) but i want to do the same using labview. please help.

You do realize that you are not actually reading any data, don't you? Your input to the TCP Read VI is the default which is a value of 0. So in essence you are saying read nothing. Also from reading through some of the information you pasted it appears that the video is streamed via a web browser. There simply reading from a TCP port will not accomplish what you want. Do you have the Interent Toolkit? That has an HTTP protocol implementation which may work for you though I don't think it will have what you want. It looks like you need to send an HTTP GET to retrieve the video image. You could also try using ActiveX or .Net to embed a browser window in your application.

  • Can I recover emails that were blocked when my storage was full?

The storage on icloud was full for me for perhaps a number of days. I bought extra storage (20GB) and my emails are now working, but how can I recover the emails that were blocked when my storage was full?

Yes.  I tried the refresh and checked the uninstall tab.  Still nothing.  Another thing though - when I entered my Blackberry ID, it would not let me use my screen name because it was supposedly already in use.  But I knew that because it was in use by me.  It would only let me use the same name with a numerical suffix.  So I am wondering if it thinks I am still logged on from before the upgrade.  Also, is it possible the Playbook thinks I am some other use and won't let me access my files - like photos and videos, etc.

  • Labview crashing when building application (exe)

    Hi,
I am trying to build an application from a simple labview (2011) vi. All the vi does is sets (boolean = TRUE) a line on the digital output card (NI 9472) when I start running the vi. The program works fine after I have coded it. But when I try to build an exe file (application) of that project, then labview crashes in the build process. Is this a known issue? please help. I am attaching my vi alongwith this email

I'm sorry to hear that gascars.  I have downloaded your project and VI and have succesfully built an executable in both LabVIEW 2011 and LabVIEW 2012.  Can you please send me a screenshot of the error you are receiving?  Also, can you make a simple VI that just adds two numbers and see if that can be made into an .exe.

  • Tranfering data to LabVIEW through TCP/IP

    Dear all,
Hello! I am a new LabVIEW user. What i am trying to do is to transfer
data from one computer running a commercial package, to a remote
computer running LabViEW, through TCP/IP. To do that i developed a
simple LabVIEW code, which establishes a connection first and then
tries to read data. The connection seems to work, but i get no data.
After the first TCPread i placed an indicator, to check if data is
transfered, where i am getting the message "nect"...any ideas on what
    this could mean?
Any help would be more than welcome!Thank you in advance!
    Ferrari

I don't think we have enough information to troubleshoot this issue from your description, because there is a nearly infinite number of possibilities to "transfer data via TCP/IP". What kind of "commercial software" is the server you are trying to contact? Is it LabVIEW based? What are the specifications to transfer the data? Are you trying to use low-level TCP or e.g. datasocket?

  • Error message when building an application for Labview PDA

When using LabView PDA module to build an application for a PDA target, I receive the following message: "Error building executable. Unable to create file". Why is this happening?
When looking at the error log, it reads "The system cannot find the file specified."
This happens even when looking at one of the Labview PDA example VI's, so it is not a result of the VI containing functions of features not supported by Labview PDA.
When installing Labview PDA, I installed files as follows, and in this order:
    (i) Labview 7.1 (installed previously)
(ii) Microsoft eMbedded Visual C++ 4.0
(iii) Microsoft eMbedded Visual C++ 4.0 SP 3.0
(iv) Microsoft SDK for Windows Mobile 2003-based Pocket PCs
    (v) Microsoft ActiveSync 3.8
(vi) NI Labview 7.1 PDA module for PocketPC
(vii) DAQmx Base 1.0 for PDA or later
    Any ideas?

Did you attempt to add the _wordsub.llb and _excelsub.llb files to the application as support files?  I believe in LabVIEW 8.0 instead of adding the entire LLBs you should just add the _Word Dynamic VIs.vi and _Excel Dynamic VIs.vi as dynamic VIs.  I think I've seen a similar post on the discussion forums in the past that recommended this.
If this suggestion doesn't help, please reply, and attach a simple VI and .lvproj file demonstrating the problem so I can investigate further.
