Language Bar hotkey (alt+shift) steals foreground window. (alt+caps/tilde is fine)

I think this is just an issue around which app is at the top of the window stack and not language, but it has to do with the Language Bar. If I press Alt+Shift in the application software I maintain it is becoming inactive on Windows 7. It appears that
no application is active, however I believe the Language Bar is active, even though it gives no indication by design.
Alt+Shift is a hotkey to change the current language input method for the current application. When pressed the language does change, but the application must be manually reactivated afterward; eg. by clicking on it. The other language bar hotkey combos
that I know of do not exhibit this behavior. I believe the language bar is trying to restore the application to the top of the window stack after processing a global hotkey but is failing to do so because of special circumstances.
The problem is I can't imagine what is so special in this particular case. It's a normal enough application programmed using Win32/COM only (I haven't yet tested this on XP but it is no longer under support terms so.)
Dunno why Microsoft stuck the underscore in my screen name. It won't wash out. I apologize, but I only post here in times of severe desperation :( Anyone else find the line/paragraph spacing in these forums very difficult to read?

Alt Shift resets visible toolbars

In Windows, switching keyboard layouts is often assigned to
Alt-Shift.
In Dreamweaver, Alt-Shift resets the toolbar set to
'Document' and 'coding', which apparently is the default.
If you have any other toolbar open, for example 'Standard'
(which has Save and Save All icons), it disappears.

CS4 can't input special characters (|\#) with alt+shift

Very strange,
I can input all characters with alt+shift except for:
* alt+shift+l normally outputs: |
* alt+shift+/ normally outputs: \
* alt+shift+£ normally outputs: #
I have an EN_US version, and I work with an azerty-keyboard
This was an issue with cs3 too
anybody has a clue why I can't input these characters?

No idea, but maybe due to security reasons, because "&&" is a logical AND, and "||" is a logical OR, and "//" could start a comment, through input boxes these could actually alter the internal program and one maybe able to bypass security codes or do other imaginative things. In fact similar things have been widely used in PHP language by hackers, one of their methods is known as "xss" or cross site scripting through which a badly regulated/filtered/controlled user input can be exploited.

How to change language bar that windows supports using google IME

Brief description about Google IME : Google Transliteration IME is an input method editor which allows users to enter text in one of the supported languages using a roman keyboard. Users can type a word the way it sounds using Latin characters and Google Transliteration IME will convert the word to its native script. Note that this is not the same as translation -- it is the sound of the words that is converted from one alphabet to the other, not their meaning. Converted content will always be in Unicode.
Problem Statement: I would like to buid an AIR Application to support some kind of data entry for different languages like English, Hindi, Arabic etc.. without going and selecting the language selection on the language bar present in the windows desktop.
I want to provide a combobox to select the language -- once the language is selected correspondingly the language selection bar should change to the language specified ( Assume that I have installed Google IME for that particular language - with a short cut keys to change the language selection)
when the mouse pointer is inside the app the keyboard should function like the language selected - once the mouse pointer goes out of the scope it should go to the defalut language ie English ( for eg)
In simple words when some selection on a combo box happens can I push programatically as if the user is pressed Alt+Shift+0 or Alt+Shift+1 ( some short cut keys)

Apple does not make what you are asking straightforward for a reason: the user usually sets the system language to the one they prefer anyway.
If you think you have a good reason for setting the language in the application itself, I would suggest using the pathForResource:ofType:inDirectory:forLocalization: method of the main bundle to get the applicable strings file and then deserialize it into a dictionary as if it were a plist (strings files actually are).

Win10: 7.5.0.102 crashes after changing language via Alt+Shift+(2\3)

Skype 7.5.0.102
Language changing is set up to use Alt+Shift+(1\2\3) to switch to English\Russian\Ukrainian accordingly.
After pressing Alt+Shift+2 or Alt+Shift+3 in any chat Skype stops responding. Bug existed since dinosaurs.
I can help with debugging. Just tell me what to do.

I'm sorry for providing an incorrect information, but the issue is still here. When I was writing that post the languages were switching without any issues, but now Skype crashes as it was before.
It seems like this issue is floating and it can be reproduced only in some circumstances.
Probably, it might be related to the hybrid power off mode of the WIndows 8 and Windows 10 or settings synchronization.

here is the issue
my users remote control a terminal services farm, now when they changing language to English some time it change to English Upper Case and caps lock is off ! then the Alt + Shift and the go back to English lower case and if they just play with
this (i mean they just use Alt Shift over and over to try to get back to normal state when you hold shift and alt and you change to English and back to Hebrew if you hold the alt shift one more time )
i tonic some thing strange ifi hold down first the alt and then the shift this issue happen more often

here is how the normal setting should be
Alt + shift need to change to lower case English
then Alt shift one more time will go back to Hebrew
now if you hit on the caps lock you will be in English all the time with Upper Case

How can I change the language on the editor with "alt + shift"?

Hi,
I created a java JApplet, with a JTextPane inside.
I want the user to be able to change the language using the
combination keys "alt + shift",
but when I'm pressing ALT I'm loosing the focus (to the browser),
so it's not working.
When I'm holding the ALT key, and than pressing the Shift key twice!, It is working.
How can I fix it so it will work with regular "alt + shift"?

The Utilisation of Firefox causes Windows Vista Language Bar to disappear.

Every time I open Firefox, Windows Vista Language Bar will be missing. Once I close Firefox, Language Bar reappear. It causes trouble whenever I wanna write in different languages.

I disabled the auto-updates after the second auto-update yesterday (and after the Time Machine restore to 10.9.1). The update had already been downloaded prior to that. Apps started nagging me this morning about the update - again. There is no "cancel" option, all I do is click on "Remind me tomorrow". I suspect it will install it again anyway in the days ahead, or I may go ahead and do the update and see if the nav bar is still there given the Preferences > General fix. Thanks.

[Flex 4.5.1] Focus on TextInput hides windows 7 language bar when in Chrome, Firefox works fine

Focus on TextInput hides windows 7 language bar when in Chrome (latest version by the time of the writting) - very odd behavior, if the user clicks away from the flex app then the language bar reappears but even if you change the language if you focus back on the application the language is back to what it was the last time the application was focused, though you can't actually see this since the language bar is gone.
This is kind of a serious bug since an avarage user probably would't be able to change the language with key combinations...
Does someone know anything about this issue ?

Actually giving focus on the entire flex application results in hiding the windows 7 language bar in chrome. I just reported this. Here is the link for the bug + an extra issue:

Satellite C50-A133 - language bar hot keys keep being reset automatically

Hi!
I have a Toshiba Satellite C50-A133 notebook with Windows 8.1 64 bit (system language English UK) from the UK. So far I have not had major problems with Windows 8.1 but one annoying problem keeps coming up.
There are currently 12 languages/input methods installed, some of which I have assigned keyboard shortcuts, either Ctrl + number or Ctrl + Shift + number.
After the system starts up they work fine, but after a while become disabled without me being aware of having done anything to disable them. The only thing I can do is open the Language Preferences menu and assign the shortcuts again.
They have disappeared in the language bar hot keys menu, specifically each shortcut I have set has changed to "None". This happens after a while no matter what I use the computer for.
Restarting the system always resets the shortcuts to my settings but working with the computer for a while disables them. I use Avast, Malwarebytes, Auslogics BoostSpeed and Windows Defender regularly, as well as CCleaner at startup. I don't think it's any of these causing the problem, as it occurs when none of them are scanning as well. Using the Windows key + tab bar to change input language works fine by the way.
All the languages are displayed and can be activated this way. It is just the hotkeys that keep disappearing. It is not a huge problem but can be inconvenient when needing to switch between 2 or 3 languages quickly without having to cycle through all 12 of them. Has anyone had this problem and is there a way to fix it?
I have already explained this issue to Microsoft.
They had no solution that worked and suggested it was a hardware problem and that I should contact Toshiba instead.

To be honest Im not sure if I understand your problem correctly but as far as I know by first start after notebook purchase you can define keyboard input language and thats it. Of course you can change it additionally and add some other input languages.
For me it sounds crazy that 12 languages are offered as installed services. Who has done this?
Can you please tell us how all this started? I mean I presume you use UK layout only and English as input language. The issue with 12 languages sounds completely crazy for me. Have you tried to change anything? Have you tried to remove all other languages?
Hardware problem? I don't know what Microsoft think about this but there is a easy way to check this. Reinstall original recovery image and check how it works with factory settings.

Alt+Shift works wrong in CS5 Dreamweaver

When I working in main window (designer) and press Alt+Shift (standard switching language), the following happens:
1. Toolbars Style rendering, Document, Standard blinks
2. Dreamweaver window looses focus, so I am not able to type anymore unless I click it.
3. The focus goes on the Snippets tab.
4. HOME, END and TAB keyboard keys stop working
Are this a bug or some keyboard shortcut? If this a some shortcut, how I can change it? (in Edit - Keyboard shortcuts I can't find it)

Left Alt+Shift combination

When I click left Alt+Shift in order to change keyboard language, the Edit window (either in Code or in Design view) looses the focus, so I can't type anymore. I have to use the mouse (click where the text should be) and then start typing again.
Please note that it only occurs in Edit window (where the contents of the page are) and not in any other place. For example I don't have the problem when I'm in the Properties Panel and I want to type an ID in the second language (1st keyboard language is English, 2nd is Greek). Furthermore the problem is only DW (CS4) related. All the other applications are working as they should (Word, Excel, Photoshop, Firefox, etc).
The weird thing is that, when I first open DW the combination works OK, but after a while it doesn't. Especially, after I use the Snippets panel.(select a snippet and click the Insert button).
Any thoughts?

This is a known issue with switching keyboard layout in Dreamweaver. Switching keyboard layout results in the toolbars being redrawn. You can submit a bug report/feature request through the form at http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform, but there's nothing you can do about it apart from use the mouse to refocus the program after switching.

DV CS3 Alt+Shift problem

hello i have problem whith the dreamweaver. i need the
STANDARD PANEL in DV CS3 turned ON. everithing is ok but if i
switch other keyboard leangue (alt+shift or if i select the
keyborad language from the icon on bottom on the screen) the
standard panel is turned off ! i testing this in win XP and VISTA
system and i have the some problem.. Please help my because it`s

My Language Bar isn't showing up when I have Firefox active, although it shows up fine in other applications and my desktop. Any ideas?

I noticed a couple days ago that my language bar wasn't showing up when I had Firefox active. At first I thought it was the bar in its entirety, but when I'm on the desktop, or even in AIM, the language bar still shows. I'm constantly switching between typing in English and Japanese, so I need this function. I'm stuck currently typing it elsewhere and pasting it into the browser, which is very time consuming. Does anyone have any ideas as to why it's doing this? Thank you.

I have the Language bar as part of the taskbar, and I have Firefox just as a normal window. It's actually showing up today, which is strange because I've been moving my computer around, so it's been on and off three times today, and this is the first time it's here.

No need to create any customer exit variable for this ..
You have standard variable CMONTH this displays current month summation. Just restrict your Key figure with this variable.
And in properities of Key figure goto Calculations> Local Calculations> select Summation.
If you want to assign some calday at run time sure you need to create customer exit variable using Step_2 value in enhancements(CMOD).
