Language barrier in iTunes

I cannot change the language on my iTunes download to English. As I am in the desert serving right now and must go through a non-US satellite, it downloaded in German! I have changed the language setting to English in my properties to no avail. Of course, Apple has made contacting them with such a simple question **** near impossible to get an answer from them without navigating thru the whole site to finally end up here. I'm pretty sure I'll have to remove the program, but just wanted to ask them. Thanks Apple for making your site one of the most difficult for customer support!!

Thanks Apple for making your site one of the most difficult for customer support!!
Click the Support tab on any Apple web page (or select "Apple Service and Support" from the iTunes Help menu), then Click "iTunes Store" under the "iPod + iTunes" header in the Featured Support Topics section.
As to the language problem itself, I don't know what "properties" you mean, but just to make sure, take a look here:
Tunes: Changing the display language
If it's the iTunes Store you're talking about, then as the other poster suggested, scroll down to the bottom of the main iTunes Store page and select the "Change Country" link. Note, though, that the iTunes Store prohibits use of a Store from outside of its country and may block such access.
Regards.

  • Korean songs got cracked or broken on iTunes! How can I fix this? Can apple just offer a universal language applied to iTunes?

Korean songs got cracked or broken on iTunes! How can I fix this? Can apple just offer a universal language applied to iTunes?
English songs have right names but some Korean songs names got cracked .
I set English as the first language on my Mac and don't want to set up language in English.
    Thanks.

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the broken tracks from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

You need to change the language settings, however you cannot do it on an application by application bases.

  • Why isn't there an English language option in Itunes 12?

Why isn't there an English language option in Itunes 12?

Press Ctrl-, (comma) to open the Preferences screen.  Select the General tab.  There's a Language selection drop down at the bottom of the tab - you can choose between UK and US English - as far as I can tell these are always items 9 and 10 in the drop down list, so you should be able to select the appropriate one no matter what the current language setting is.

  • Changing country/language settings in iTunes?

    Hi!
I have just bought an iPod and installed iTunes with it. The problem is that there is no iTunes music store in New Zealand but I still want to browse music and podcasts.
However, the main page of the iTunes Music store is set in either Korea/Japan mode hence the symbols being mushed up and I can only see the pictures.
How can I change the country/language setting of iTunes bar having to remove and re-install it?
    Thank you in advance.

    And in addition:
    To change to another store
In left column select Music Store
In the main window of iTMS scroll down to the very
bottom: There is a dropdown menu located that lets
    you change to another store.
Great thanks!!! That was it! As it was only shown in strange symbols I didn't know what this menu was. I selected the only decipherable option (UK) and hey presto! I can now read the Music Store

Note that if you change the iTunes language, the content in the iTunes store is still going to be from Spain.
Movies will still be in spanish language.

  • The Infinite Language Barrier

It is a scandal that the mobile phone language barrier is still as present today as 12 years ago. What the heck have the developers been doing since then!? Not much it seem.
After just having bough my first Nokia since 1998, one which still work btw. I then decided I would take a chance to get another simpler Nokia here in Lithuania (a baltic country).
The T9 languages included on the phone here are: Lithuanian, Russian and English. Of course being from Sweden and having a large network around scandinavia, I expected to find it easy to download and install any language I would like. But, ooooh boy! Was I wrong there! Searching the forums and googling around, I could not find a single useful entry of how to change language or language pack. Did I miss something? (If so I would appreciate any suggestions.)
In the mean time I do not expect to buy another Nokia ever again, as they have completely lost sight of what people need, want and what the market can support. Most people just want things that work! That is the reason why I abandoned SonyEricsson, their phones aways had problems and bugs. I have owned at least 3 of them and all had to be repaired or hacked at one point or another. This is the reason I will never buy anything else than a phone with publicly available operating system. I'm talking Android based here...
When the biggest players (Nokia, SE etc.) are ignoring their users, people move on... I'm not surprised at all about the great financial/market loss of both those companies. Time for them to wake up!
My phone is a "Nokia 2700Classic" and I would like to see a simple piece of software (<6 MB in size) that you could use to install what ever language you want! Period. (Is that so hard to do?)
    Best Regards,
    Eva

If you don't need Lithuanian then you could ask for a Nordic/Scandinavian language pack to be installed. That will get you English, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Icelandic and Finnish.
Take your phone to a Nokia Care Point and ask them to do the necessary (only an NCP can do this for you).
The language of Nokia Software Updater has no bearing on the languages installed in the phone whatsoever, the phone's product code is the sole criterion for that. The only thing that changes from one localized version of NSU to another is the language used to display information on-screen.
Also bear in mind that updating the phone's firmware further on down the line may well remove the language pack you had installed.

  • Why is it only possible to get French Language Films via iTunes France - I can buy Blu-ray in the Supermarket in multiple language?  It makes no sense!

I am English Speaking My wife is Dutch my Children speak 3 Languages.  We love AppleTV BUT we can only get films (in general) in Version Originale (French Only) and this makes no sense...
We can go to the local supermarket and buy DVDs and Blu-ray Discs that allow us to watch the up-to-date movies in a range of languages so why not on this AppleTV OTT service?
    It makes no sense.
Just because we live in France does not mean we want to watch Hollywood Movies in French?
So much for What you Want-When you want-Wherever you are...

It really does have to do with content permissions. The studios that release the Bluray and DVD versions might not always be the rights bearer to the film, they just bear rights to distribute it on physical media. Most films are made by different companies, then released by Sony, Paramount, and other distribution channels. But in the online realm, different disributors own the rights (and Apple doesn't participate with them or is unable to in some countries). Perhaps Sony distributed films will sell in your local store or be played by a Sony owned TV station locally. But perhaps online Sony doesn't hold that distribution rights to distribute the film online, Warner Brothers or somebody else does. Therefor, they don't allow it online in that market. The licensing is in limbo.
Most American films I buy in China on DVD from Wal Mart, are distributed by a Chinese company and not the original American film studio. Also in USA, the price for a new DVD is about $20 USD, in China it is only $2 USD. So to limit everyone in USA from buying Chinese DVDs at a cheaper price to watch American movies, they put content restrictions on the media (ie. the DVD region codes) so the DVD won't play in an American player.
The same goes for online rights. Your local government, copyright offices and local content license holders do not distribute the movie you want online. They distribute it on physical media or TV broadcast. But they have not secured permission or agreed on what price to sell the movies for online in your market. Apple has no say in this. In fast, the only store Apple controls in the US store. All other local iTunes stores are really virtual stores in place for locals to buy from local distributors.
The Chinese people are in no hurry to download from the US iTunes store because it cost too much. But if the Americans could download from the Chinese iTunes store, they could buy any movie they like for less than $1 and all the money goes to China, and not the US. Hence the restriction.
So copyright holders are just fighting over prices and rights and don't want to or legally can't release it online in your local store.

  • How do I get my language course podcast to show up in language courses in iTunes?

I have a podcast that is listed as a "Language Course" for English that is listed and fairly highly ranked in the Education podcast section in iTunes. However, I can't figure out for the life of me how to get it to show up specifically in the English Language Courses of the Language Learning collection as linked from the iTunes Store Podcast main page on the lower right side. My RSS is pretty clear and doesn't differ in terms of category tags from the podcasts that do show up in that category. Is there some extra step I have to take to get that classification?
    Thanks!

These are what are called 'featured podcasts' and are selected by the iTunes Store staff. Apple's help page says:
    Being Featured on iTunes Store.
At iTunes, we’re constantly on the lookout for podcasts that are breaking new ground with this medium, have new or unusual content, or just capture our interest. When we find them, we like to feature them on the Podcasts home page. While there are no sure-fire ways to get your podcast featured (and no, we do not accept payments or gifts for promotion), there are some minimum requirements. To be featured by iTunes, podcasts must have:
An attractive, original image that does not include the iPod or other Apple-branded content. For image specs, see the iTunes Image section below.
A robust and accurate description for the podcast and all related episodes.
    A valid author listed.
Proper language, category, and explicit tagging.
In addition, featured podcasts must be regularly updated with new episodes. We occasionally feature a podcast after its first episode, but we generally like to see podcasts with at least 3 episodes, and we like to see that the most recent episode has been added in the past month. Ideally, the episodes should be released on a regular and predictable basis. More than 100 podcasts are submitted every day, so it is impossible to feature all of the good ones.

  • When syncing iPhone the message in iTunes is in a foreign language, even though iTunes is set to English.

I just got my first iPhone.  I plugged it into my pc (I already have iPod/iTunes) and registered the product.  The screen that came up immediately after registering the product is all in a Asian/character language, even though English is the set language for both the iPhone and iTunes...what is going on?!  It offers me two buttons to click, but given I can't understand either I'm not clicking anything yet.  I have disconnected and reconnected the iPhone several times.

did you find out the answer??? mine is in German! help

  • How do I change the language setting in itunes

I'm sure this is a very basic question but I just can't seem to find anywhere to change the language setting. I live in Japan but would rather use itunes in English as I've twice now deleted my entire phone book on my iphone and had to go to an old backup. I suppose I should just have my girlfriend keep setting it up like the first time but I thought the whole point of apple crap is that even a nitwit newbie like me should be able to figure out how to use it.
wondering if I should have just stayed with good old Japanese cel phones...
    gartheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

that was indeed astoundingly easy. Well one less excuse next time I delete my phone book...
    thanks very much!

  • Language change in itunes, language change in iTunes

I am new with Apple products. I bought an pro book and ipad. So in the store all smart and helped to configure both. Even they told me to open account for itunes what I have done. I am German living since 13 years in Spain. So all configurations  are in spanish. For normal use no problem. Then I wanted to buy a german book in itunes. But i could not because I am in spain and I used a spanish credit card. So they told me in the store if I want films or book in other languages I have to use a credit card from another country where i want to download in the language. This is rediculess and not international, How I could buy in itunes for example German Books even when I am not living in Germany. Because i dont have German credit card. Whats happen when I want in english? I need a US or UK Credit card?
