Laptop suddenly died

Operating system: Vista
While trying to unistall some programs, the laptop suddenly shut down & wouldn't respond to any power-on again. I was working on power, as the battery was already dead. I am trying to retrive my data to a new laptop, and was told to remove the hard disk & use it as an external one before solving this proble. My questions are:
1. How can I remove the hard disk?
2. What to do next to save this laptop?

Once you have the hdd out, there should be an adapter on the pins.You will have to remove this to connect it to an adapter or hdd enclosure.Just wiggle and pull it to remove.

Laptop suddenly died, indicator light

My laptop suddenly turned off, and I could never turn it back on. I have determined that it is not the battery causing this problem.
There is an indicator light that turns on when I try to start it up again. It blinks both orange at one rate, and blue at another rate, simultaneously.
I realize my laptop is out of warranty, but I am curious if anyone knows that this indicator light means, so that I can isolate the problem.

It 'sounds' like the BIOS was corrupted either from a virus, install, or download. Unfortunately there is no way to 'reset' the BIOS after a bad flash, and once it is powered down and shut off there is no way to turn it back on without replacing the mainboard. Try contacting Toshiba direct and see what they would charge you for a replacement mainboard.
Clearing the CMOS by replacing the battery will not help if it is a bad BIOS. You can try a few things though... Disconnect AC+Battery press the Power Button to discharge the current. Remove/Replace the memory. If you have 2 sticks take one out, attempt to boot, if it doesn't take the other stick out and put the one you just took out back in (alternate) boot, test. It sounds like a Bad Memory module as well as a corrupted BIOS, so it might be worth a try to replace the memory with atleast one working stick.

You have not specified which version of Premiere Pro was given to you. If you don't have the disc (which i suppose you don't have) you will have to download it online.
As far as your registration is concerned, for Premiere Pro CS6 or earlier you will have to reach Adobe chat support for further help: http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
For Premiere Pro CC and later, you will not have much problems reactivating it.

You can change the email address of one's appleID...
I'd recommend changing moms email to yours to get a good backup on the Mac
Then switch mom's back to hers
Then change your account to the same email you used.

If an iPod is set to update automatically it will be associated with a particular library. If you connect that iPod to a different computer or a different library on the same computer you get the the message you are referring to. "The iPod "iPod Name"is linked to another another iTunes music library. Do you want to change the link to this iTunes music library and replace all existing songs and playlists on this iPod with those from this library". To use an iPod on multiple computers you change the update method to "manually manage songs and playlists". You can also use multiple iPods on a single computer so you will be able to connect both of your iPods to your existing iTunes. Connect the new iPod and follow the on screen instructions, iTunes will open and update your iPod.

The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.

Laptop Suddenly shuts down

I have a satellite A665-S6086 laptop and I've been having a problem for the last few months where my laptop suddenly power off while viewing online videos. I have two audio drivers installed so I disabled the Intel Display Audio but no luck. Any Ideas

When you say "...power off", is this a un-controlled, instant off or is it rebooting?
Will it always immediately restart by pushing the power button or does this require waiting a spell?
Have you ever experienced this other than watching videos?
If there's no indication of anything and the machine just "blam" powers off, my first guess would be a hardware issue, maybe thermal? If it's rebooting and ONLY when watching videos online, I suspect software, possibly a driver, which apparently you are suspecting too. You might even try temporarily disabling any power-saving features you have set, just to see if they maybe affecting it.

DFU mode an try to restore to iOS6.1.4 it will wipe out the whole device if it works but than youll kno if its a software issue if it works or ahardware issue if it dont work

X-Fi Fatality suddenly died on me

!X-Fi Fatality suddenly died on me? Today I resumed my PC from sleep mode when I got a blue screen. unfortunately I didn't get chance to record the error message.
When I rebooted the PC I had no sound whatsoever. I ran the console application to check for sound levels and it said there was no supported sound card installed!
I checked the device manager and it reported there was no soundcard inside the PC.
I have tried the sound card in another PCI slot but the sound card doesn't show in Windows.
I have also checked power leads etc. The red light comes on as usual. I have inspected the card carefully and nothing seems amiss. What's really wierd is the soundcard appears on the device list after the BIOS POST process just before Windows boots!
Anyone got any ideas?

Latest Windows 7 Drivers are installed from the Creative Website.

Had scenario 3 w/ a Fatalty in an Antec case. Turned out that when screwing down the card it would pull out of its PCI socket ever so slightly. Light was still on but the card was nowere to be seen by the OS. Had to bend the bracket a bit and leave out the screw for the card to be fully settled :smileyindifferent: Worked ever since.
